Kodak Black’s baby mama drama just got a whole lot more complicated, as authorities reportedly arrested the mother of two of his kids, Maranda Johnson, for allegedly jumping his first baby mother Jammiah “Maya” Broomfield. Specifically, the reported charges are battery, burglary, and grand theft, and follows Johnson threatening Broomfield and Kodak online as well as smashing his car windows. If you recall, this incident occurred because the rapper was with Broomfield and their son the other day. Seems like everyone involved has some issues to sort out. Hopefully they do so soon for the sake of the families, because seeing things go to these lengths can be scary.
Furthermore, this comes amid a pretty interesting time for Kodak Black, who’s not dealing with many legal issues right now and seems in a much better place. As such, we hope that the patience and positive energies are there to handle this combative situation as well as possible. But in addition to this being a more tranquil time for the Florida MC, he’s also got a lot more to develop when it comes to his next career moves and how he will grow throughout the decade. For example, he just put out a new compilation album featuring the next iteration of his Sniper Gang label, and seeing him in a more curation-based role is promising.
Elsewhere, some other Kodak Black-related beef, the one with Boosie Badazz, is one that the Baton Rouge artist wouldn’t necessarily categorize as such. Moreover, Boosie told DJ Vlad during his latest VladTV interview that he doesn’t really see his personal and social media issues with Kodak as “rap beef,” per se. The same goes for his feud with NBA YoungBoy, as he thinks that these spats and situations are pretty casual and aren’t indicative of any real issues. Even though Badazz does have a partial “diss track” for Yak in “Grateful,” he doesn’t see it as such since it’s not all directed at him.
Meanwhile, hopefully all these family issues sort out, because Kodak Black always looks happy and healthy when he’s around his loved ones. Take this with a grain of salt, though, as there isn’t a whole lot of other information out there concerning this supposed arrest. No matter what it leads to, we hope this can set some more ground rules and stipulations to avoid this kind of conflict in the future. Will they work? We’ll see.
Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are further fueling rumors of a divorce as their $60 million marital home has gone up for sale. They purchased the Beverly Hills mansion a little over a year ago after initially reconciling back in 2021, 20 years after they first met. TMZ reports the two have hired realtor Santiago Arana from The Agency for the sale.
Their relationship appeared to take a turn for the worse when Lopez attended the Met Gala without her partner. From there, Affleck attended Netflix’s roast of Tom Brady in Los Angeles. Afterward, sources close to the couple began mentioning marital woes. “Jen and Ben are having issues in their marriage,” a source told Us Weekly. “They started having issues a few months ago as Jen had started ramping up work commitments and prepping for her tour. Jen is very focused on work. They are on two completely different pages most of the time.” PEOPLE also reported that Lopez’s tour rehearsals were preventing the couple from spending enough time together. “They’re still living separately,” a source close to Lopez told the outlet. “She’s back in L.A. for tour rehearsals. She seems okay. She’s very focused on work.”

Of course, since the sources for this information mostly come from social media screenshots without checking Lotti’s page, take it with a grain of salt, but understand that this headline should seem familiar to you. There have been plenty of previous cases of the Chicago artist’s audience speaking on not just how his former partner has used and engaged with his legacy, but on how everyone close to his life has squandered his posthumous recognition.
For example, Ally Lotti previously caught flack earlier this year for allegedly selling some of Juice WRLD’s dreads and bodily fluids. You can imagine how disgusted some fans were, not just physically in terms of how gross it sounds but in terms of how she could make massive profits off of his items through exploiting fan obsession rather than preserving these belongings. However, some might argue that it’s more intimate and connected for fans to be so “close” to an artist rather than look at them through museum glass. But it’s clear that Juice’s likeness and career hasn’t really been respected and preserved as much as it probably should.

It’s sad to see disputes like this happen, but it’s small in the face of his impact. In April, Jeezy and Jeannie Mai’s divorce proceedings took an unexpected turn when she accused him of having abused her throughout their relationship. Court documents obtained by The Shade Room at the time revealed her accounts of being allegedly punched, pushed down the stairs, and more. He was quick to deny the allegations, calling them “not only false, but also deeply disturbing” in a statement to The LA Times. He later accused her of sharing photos of injuries she obtained during a golf cart crash, and falsely claiming they were inflicted by him.
Now, the mother of one of Jeezy’s children, Mahlet “Mahi” Gebremedhin, is coming to his defense. According to court documents obtained by Page Six, she filed a sworn affidavit testifying in his favor earlier this week. “I’ve witnessed Jay be a devoted, caring, and present Father to our daughter and his oldest child,” she wrote. “For almost four years, Jay’s eldest child lived with us and I was able to see their relationship grow every day. At no point was Jay ever physically, mentally or emotionally abusive to his children or I.”

Benzino hasn’t always enjoyed the best relationship with his daughter and rapper Coi Leray. The pair have traded words on social media multiple times, but their issues got to a head in May when she said publicly that she wanted nothing to do with him. Coi and Benzino’s relationship hasn’t always been rocky. He gave her the platform to rise to stardom via his YouTube channel. Coi also previously spoke about how her father’s work ethic inspired her. Despite the praise, she trashed Benzino in her 2021 song, “No More Parties.” Coi rapped, “My daddy let me down, but I promise you, I won’t let up/I wanna say f**k that man but the s**t won’t make me better.”
A displeased Benzino responded via Instagram, lamenting how Coi tarnished his name for a storyline. He also claimed to be there for Coi all her life and said she was raised in a mansion. He said, “Coi had everything she wanted. I was flying Coi to meet every summer, every Spring Break, every—she was in Miami. I got her in a movie… Every Christmas, Thanksgiving, she’s with me.” However, Coi responded to her dad on social media by saying she was embarrassed to be his daughter. Not backing down, Benzino said he found Coi’s comments disrespectful, adding that her words can never be forgiven or forgotten. He also blamed her mom and the industry’s corruptive forces for her behavior.
A month after trading words with her father on social media, Coi offered an olive branch to her dad by tweeting that she loves him forever and always. However, he called her out, saying she was insincere. Father and daughter eventually settled their feud. Benzino shared his love for Coi in another post. He wrote, “I have one daughter on this earth and I love her dearly. All this drama is now over, please respect that and move on.” In another post, he wrote, “Love you more CC and I’m sorry, if you felt wasn’t there when you needed me I should’ve been and I truly apologize, no excuses.”
Coi and Benzino feuded again ahead of the release of her debut album Trendsetter. Coi went on social media and claimed her dad was sending threats to her and her mom because she called him “broke” during an appearance on The Breakfast Club. Benzino also almost ruined his daughter’s biggest collaboration after he announced her collaboration with Nicki Minaj before it was official. He later apologized for his actions. After the album’s release, Benzino appeared to make fun of Coi’s low album sales and was called out for doing so. However, he claimed his Instagram page was hacked and wondered why people would believe he could make fun of his daughter. Meanwhile, Coi stayed calm and remained positive about her album’s credibility.

Coi and her dad seemed to take positive steps to repair their relationship in 2023 when Benzino attended her set at Rolling Loud Miami. This was the first time he had seen her perform live. During an interview with People, Coi shared that Rihanna’s forgiveness of her own father inspired her to mend her relationship with Benzino.
November 2023: Coi Leray Says Her Dad Is Envious of Her Success
In November 2023, Coi appeared on Angie Martinez’s IRL Podcast. During the interview, Angie asked her how her dad deals with her success. “At first it was rocky, because I felt like he couldn’t handle my success. I felt like it came from an envious place, which is okay, cause he’s human, and it’s fine,” she said. “He’s one of those people that feel like ‘Yo, I still have a story to tell.’”
Benzino responded to those comments via social media. In a now-deleted Instagram post, he described her words as the most ridiculous thing he had ever heard. Benzino also blamed the internet and the industry for messing with the young generation’s minds. He expressed frustration at how Coi pushed a false narrative about him, describing it as sad and embarrassing. He also said Angie manipulated Coi to say what she said.

After months of silence, Coi caused a stir on social media on May 1, 2024, after she disowned her father. Initially, she posted, “I want everybody to know I want nothing to do with anything my father has going on. I haven’t spoken to him in over a year and I don’t condone or respect any of them interviews he got going on.” Coi expressed that she doesn’t respect her dad’s decisions and urged people not to think of her when they see him. She emphasized that DNA does not make a family, but loyalty, respect, and love do. Coi also expressed her desire to have a kid and show them love one day.
Coi’s posts came after her father’s comments about R. Kelly. Benzino appeared on the We In Miami podcast and declared that R. Kelly should be given a second chance. June 2024: Benzino Brings Up Daughter’s Virginity While Defending R. Kelly Comments
Benzino caused more stir with his comments during an appearance on the Famous & Wealthy podcast. He said about his daughter, “She made a comment about the R. Kelly situation and said that she doesn’t want to have anything to do with me.” The 58-year-old recalled Coi’s interview with Matt Hoffa in which she revealed she lost her virginity at 14. Benzino claimed he didn’t know Coi lost her virginity at 14 and questioned her moral grounds for disowning him over his comments on R. Kelly. He said, “Since you did involve yourself, which is what you do, alright? How can you say that when you just said that you lost your virginity at 14? So is the guy that you lost your virginity at 14 [to], is he a pedophile?”
Benzino faced backlash as people on social media wondered how he could use his daughter’s virginity loss at 14 to defend his support for a convicted criminal. Coi has yet to respond to her father’s most recent comments. However, it is unlikely they will mend their broken relationship soon.

Together, the two attended the NAACP Theatre Awards at the Taglyan Complex in Los Angeles on Monday night. They’ve been dating since May 2023 and Good was by his side throughout the legal proceedings of his misdemeanor assault and harassment case.
When The Shade Room shared pictures of Majors and Good at the event on Instagram, fans were highly critical of their appearance. “Is it just me or has she aged a lot since getting with him?” one top comment reads. As for the domestic violence case, Majors has maintained his innocence for over a year despite the courts finding him guilty of two misdemeanor counts of assault and harassment. In the wake of the verdict, he lost numerous acting roles and other business dealings. In April, he was sentenced to a 52-week in-person domestic violence intervention program. The victim in that case, Grace Jabbari, further sued Majors for defamation in March, as a response to him maintaining his innocence before and after the verdict. In the lawsuit, she mentions other claims of battery, assault, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and malicious prosecution.
