DJ Envy Once Revealed How Joe Budden Told Him His Real Estate Endeavors Would Land Him In Jail

If you’ve been paying attention to the news, you may have seen that DJ Envy has gotten himself into some real estate trouble. It all started when people began accusing his business partner, Cesar Pina, of taking their money and not making good on investments. Essentially, clients say Pina stole their money. Envy was not accused of stealing money, however, he was accused of bringing clients to Pina. Moreover, the two held seminars on investing in real estate, which led to more clients willing to invest.

Yesterday, it was reported that Pina was arrested on wire fraud charges. Furthermore, he was eventually released on $1 million bond. It was also said that computers and electronics were removed from the iHeartRadio offices as part of an investigation into DJ Envy. This has led to fans digging up old footage of the radio personality. In one video, seen below, Envy can be seen and heard speaking about how many refused to invest in their real estate endeavors. As it turns out, one man was actually pretty prophetic.

The man in question is none other than Joe Budden. As Envy revealed, he called Joe to tell him about investing in real estate. Budden subsequently told him no. The reason? Well, Joe thought that the whole thing was just some sort of Ponzi scheme. Moreover, he told DJ Envy that he was probably going to prison. Of course, in retrospect, those comments seem like a genuine prediction rather than a joke. However, it is important to remember that nothing has happened to Envy just yet. There is still a large part of the legal process left to be played out.

DJ Envy Real Estate Associate Hit With Fraud Charges

DJ Envy has been wrapped up in some pretty wild allegations as of late. Overall, it all stems from his association to Cesar Pina. The two were in business together as they sought to teach people how to invest in real estate. Pina has been accused of taking money from people and ultimately screwing them out of their investments. Although Envy is not being accused of doing the same, he does stand accused of funneling clients over to Pina.

According to RLS Media, Pina has been arrested on fraud charges in New Jersey. He was subsequently released on $1 million bond, however, he still faces wire-fraud charges. As of right now, DJ Envy has yet to make a statement on any of this. However, during an episode of The Breakfast Club last week, Envy did address some of the allegations. He noted that Pina took money from him as well and that he never saw a dime of his investments. Furthermore, he said that he only wanted to uplift his community and that he was never made aware of Pina taking cash from people.

“Let me explain some things,” DJ Envy explained “So Cesar and myself did seminars. Now, the reason I did these seminars is because I wanted to uplift my community. I wanted to teach my community about real estate. Things that I didn’t know when I was buying my first home. So I did these seminars and brought industry professionals to all these seminars, whether it was real estate agents from different markets, contractors, money lenders. I even brought Auction.com to actually show people how to purchase houses online. Now Cesar, if he took money, I wasn’t privy to it nor did I even know. But I do understand how people feel if they did give him money because I gave him a lot of money that I didn’t see a dollar of return.”

DJ Envy Among Those Caught Up In Real Estate Flipping Scam

A new piece of investigative reporting is unveiling a real estate flipping scheme that’s stolen money from dozens of people. The scheme centers around Cesar Pena, who they describe as a social media influencer known for his seminars about real estate. In the report, they claim that Pena was taking money from investors with the promise of quick massive gains and then never paying them back. They cite at least 12 different lawsuits filed against him and interview two of the victims of his scam.

That’s where DJ Envy gets involved. Envy has appeared alongside Pena at numerous talks before and pictures of the two together made the rounds on social media. While many suspected that he was part of the scheme as a result of their association, his lawyer claims that he is also a victim. “DJ Envy also gave $500k as an investment, which he has not received back yet.” The report also claims that Pena was collecting investments for properties that he never owned or had already sold. Unsurprisingly, fans had jokes in the comments. “N*gga got scammed by ‘dm me you won’,” and “Envy playing the ‘let me help you look for it’ card,” some of the top comments read. That second post hits on a theme running throughout the comments, suspecting that Envy is in on it. “I like how you tried to save Envy’s name Ak, but idk if he got scammed like the other people.”

Envy’s involvement is a major point of contention for anyone discussing the scam online. It’s hard for fans to get their hands on much concrete evidence. Tyga Sells One Of His California Homes For $5.1 Million

Tyga has officially made himself $1 million richer through real estate. After buying a property near Coachella in 2019 to use as a vacation home, he’s sold the place and made quite an impressive profit off of it. He originally purchased the home for $3.9 million and sold it for $5.1 million. According to Hip Hop DX, the property was originally listed for $5.9 million, but it’s hard to imagine him complaining about the final price tag. The 6000 square foot mansion features four bedrooms and its own private beach, living up to its lofty price tag.

The sale comes as Tyga is facing increasing legal pressure to pay child support to his ex Blac Chyna. That’s been coming from both the court system and the public in recent weeks. In late August Chyna filed for joint custody and child support from the rapper through the court system. Since then various public figures, including Tokyo Toni, have called him out publicly for trying to avoid paying child support. While him selling his mansion may not be directly influenced by the legal battle, there are certainly dots for fans to connect.

Tyga has kept up releasing music pretty prolifically all year. In late August he teamed up with incredibly frequent collaborator YG yet again for the good times anthem “PARTy T1M3.” It’s the pair’s 4th new song together released this year following “West Coast Weekend,” “PLATINUM,” and their collaboration with Saweetie “BIRTHDAY.”

They’ll have plenty of opportunities to play those songs together as well. Tyga, YG, and Saweetie are all taking off on tour later this month. Their “STR8 TO THE KLUB” tour takes off later this month and will play 14 stops over the next few months. The bill also features even more impressive artists Kamaiyah, Wallie The Sensei, and DJ Vision joining them. Rick Ross Acquires $35 Million Home In Miami

Rick Ross is no stranger to putting his luxurious lifestyle on display. But now he’s gotten something else to show off: a new multi-million dollar home. According to TMZ, the Maybach Music founder has been eyeing the Miami home since July. And what would a luxurious piece of real estate like this complete? Perhaps some celebrity neighbors like Jennifer Lopez, Shaquille O’Neal, and Diddy.

Spanning nearly 40,000 square feet, Ross’ new pad comes with its own heated pool, entertainment room, summer kitchen, and plaza deck. It also features a beautiful waterfront, plus a 40-foot dock. The rapper’s latest investment only adds to his already impressive real estate portfolio. Ross also owns homes in Texas, two in Georgia, and another in Florida.

As anticipated, the rapper is still making impressive strides. In other news, while his real estate portfolio grows, others struggle. Recently, Breakfast Club host DJ Envy became the target of two lawsuits alleging real estate fraud.

Apparently, DJ Envy kept over $1.5 million in investments in a planned apartment project, reports of which first emerged in 2018. Even though the property never came to be, the suits claim that Envy scammed investors into giving up the money with no follow-up. While COVID-19 came up as the reason for the delay, plaintiffs still rallied against him and his alleged accomplices for stealing money on a false promise. One investor demanded his investment of over $300K back, much to Rick Ross’s delight.“ Time to tattoo that hairline too,” the rapper wrote under an Instagram post covering the lawsuits. Ross’ response isn’t surprising since there is a longstanding feud between Rick Ross and DJ Envy due to their car show competition earlier this year.

Yo Gotti Says Tax Mistake Could Have Cost Him 15 Homes, Speaks On 360 Deals

Recently, an audio clip of Yo Gotti reflecting on a major tax mistake hit the internet. In the clip, he reveals that he hadn’t paid property taxes on some houses he owned, and almost lost them. He’s shared in the past that he enjoys dabbling in real estate and likes to fix up the houses he buys. Eventually, he decided to turn it into a business. Early on, however, a mistake he made could have gotten ugly.

Apparently, a lack of knowledge about property ownership is what led to the mishap. “I didn’t even know you had to pay property taxes on a house that you’d paid cash for,” he explained. He then says he “got some papers in the mail,” about his tax debt. If one fails to pay property taxes in Tennessee, where the properties were, it could lead to them to go into foreclosure. Eventually, they could also be sold in a tax sale.

Fortunately for Yo Gotti, however, it seems as though he was able to get things squared away without any major losses. Mistakes were bound to happen in the early days, as it was still a new business venture for him. He recently opened up about another one of his ventures, his work as a record executive. Yo Gotti founded Collective Music Group in 2012, going on to sign artists like Moneybagg Yo, GloRilla, and more. He gave his opinion on 360 Deals in an interview earlier this week.

Yo Gotti spoke with the Earn Your Leisure podcast to share his thoughts. He says that up-and-coming artists should expect 360 deals, as a label would be putting in work to increase their value. “I feel like business is business,” he began. “To me, you ain’t thinking logical when you think you get everything and nobody get nothing from you. That’s not common sense.”

DJ Envy Denies Involvement In Real Estate Fraud Scheme, Wants Lawsuit Dismissed

DJ Envy’s lawsuit for alleged real estate fraud is completely incorrect, he claimed in court documents obtained by The Shade Room. In fact, the radio host maintained that he did not involve himself in the scam at hand, and filed a motion to dismiss the legal action on Wednesday (August 2). Moreover, he denied involvement in the teams that stand accused of carrying it out and believes his name popped up due to sheer association to further publicize the case, given his status as a public figure. What’s more is that even his codefendant, Cesar Pina, backed this story up in defense of Envy.

For those unaware, plaintiffs Anthony Martini and Anthony Barone sued DJ Envy, Pina, and the latter’s wife Jennifer last month for allegedly keeping over $2 million in investments from them. Furthermore, these went into two real estate projects: the Taylor Company and Flip 2 Dao, and Martini and Barone believe they never followed up on these ventures. Instead, they claim that defendants used the money selfishly or to compensate other investors. All actors will return to court September 8 as of writing this article to further develop their cases.

However, the new motion claims that DJ Envy was never a part of Flip 2 Dao or the Taylor Company in any capacity. To elaborate, Pina stated that he, his wife, and Barone are the only people involved with Flip 2 Dao, and the Breakfast Club co-host claims that the only relevant point of contact he had with Barone was when the latter asked him about the Pinas and his investments. Envy’s side of the story alleges that Barone wanted more information on them, but he wasn’t involved in the project and therefore couldn’t provide it. In addition, the new motion also claims that Flip 2 Dao might’ve included Envy’s name in a flip deck without his knowledge or consent.

In addition, the media figure says he put up $500,000 as investment in a school-to-apartments renovation project with the Pinas that hasn’t yielded any return of capital or or distributions. According to Envy, the Pinas promised to pay monthly dividends of $17,000 and return his initial investment within a year. Some Twitter users have been calling the property “ugly” and comparing it to a “prison,” but nevertheless it’s a huge step up from where Hov resided in the late ’90s on 560 State Street. As the NY Post notes, the father of three was both selling drugs and making music at the time, but ultimately gave up the former for a very successful pursuit of the latter.

“I knew something wasn’t right about the things I was doing,” Jay admitted while visiting the property in 2019. “My conscious was alive. So I just decided to let that street life go and just really focus on music. This is what I love to do. If I had my choice to be successful — to be successful in the street or be successful making music, it would be making music.” After letting go of the toxicity in his life, the New Yorker quickly found himself blowing up and achieving all his dreams in the industry.

His former residence, popularly known as “Stash Spot,” has been listed for sale for $1.4 million. It’s located in Brooklyn’s Boerum Hill neighbourhood and boasts two levels. The main floor contains a living room, dining area, and powder room. Elsewhere you’ll find a primary bedroom with a large, custom-designed closet, as well as a second room that could fit a bed or function as an office/nursery. Other amenities to be enjoyed by whoever foots the bill include the building’s 6,000-square-foot shared courtyard, an outdoor kitchen, and a gas-fired barbecue pit.

Rick Ross Trolls DJ Envy Over Alleged Real Estate Scam

Rick Ross trolled DJ Envy on social media, earlier this week, by sharing a video of himself hanging out with former NFL player, Tony Robinson. Robinson previously accused Envy of running a real estate scam with his business partner, Cesar Pina. According to AllHipHop, several of Pina’s clients have accused him of financial mismanagement. In his tweets, Robinson noted that Envy and Pina have 20 properties in foreclosure.

Envy eventually went on Instagram Live with Robinson to defend himself from the accusations. Pina also denied the allegations on Instagram, attempting to clear The Breakfast Club host’s name.

If you ever came to my seminar, I tell everybody, ‘Everybody on this stage, whether it’s credit, prepare, or it’s a conventional lender, do your homework because I don’t trust anybody.’ If you’ve been to my seminars, I say that a million times.”

As for Pina’s defense, he wrote on Instagram: “It’s not a secret that my relationship with DJ Envy extends beyond the turntables and into the real estate market. However, it’s critical to clarify that he was never involved in any deals, negotiations, or partnerships that have come into question. I’m sorry to my wife, my family, DJ Envy and Envy’s entire family. I love you guys and I’m sorry that individuals with nothing to lose are trying to bring you down.”

Envy and Rick Ross have been feuding for weeks at this point. The two both host annual car shows. Ross had kicked things off by calling out Envy during an appearance on Drink Champs. Envy eventually fired back by bringing up Ross’ past experience as a correctional officer.
