A Posthumous Takeoff Album Is On The Way, According To A New Quavo Video

Quavo has been open about his grief for his nephew and fellow Migos member Takeoff who tragically died last year. He mourned Takeoff on his moving song “Letter To Takeoff” in January. He shared a tribute to Takeoff last month on what would’ve been his 29th birthday.

On his YouTube channel, Quavo has made himself more vulnerable with a new video talking with Jamie Crawford-Walker. It’s titled “A Conversation For The Fans. #RocketPower,” the hashtag referencing his forthcoming album of the same title. In the video, he said that he plans to preserve unreleased music from Takeoff for a posthumous album, which amounts to 1,000 verses.

“I just feel my boy’s energy. He got his chair over there, he just be kickin’ it,” he said about Takeoff. “I always kick it with him. People don’t understand, but I be there. I be there in the house making sure all his stuff is straight, all his jewelry is clean. Still taking care of all his cars and all of that.”

“Just being fueled by my brother, Take,” he said about the album title Rocket Power, “and bottling in all these emotions — all the pain, all the hard times, all the times I cried and all the times I just made music to pull up and try to play songs and he’s not there. I’m just trying to get this fuel from above and this fuel from the sky and call it ‘rocket power.’”

[WATCH] Quavo Cuffed as Police Investigate Reports of Men Threatening Yacht Captain

Quavo Stars in 'Crash Bandicoot' Trailer

Quavo was handcuffed on a yacht in Miami as police investigated reports of two men threatening the boat’s captain. According to TMZ, Quavo or anyone else did not get arrested, but the video shows zip ties around the wrist of the rapper as he spoke with officers.

The call was in response to two men who were demanding a refund for the yacht experience once the captain said their rental time was coming to a close. The police report states two men threatened the captain’s life and also threatened to toss him from the boat if the trip ended.

A crew member also stated the captain had his wallet and cell phone taken, but there are contrasting reports of that happening.

Quavo’s attorney, Drew Findling, released a statement: “To be clear Quavo was NOT mentioned in the police report narrative. Not only was Quavo NOT arrested, he is not even listed as a witness to any alleged dispute. Ultimately, no one on the boat was arrested.”

Quavo Addressed Migos’ Split, Offset’s Recent Comments, And His Album Release Date In The ‘Rocket Power’ Trailer

There likely won’t be any new Migos music in the foreseeable future, but that doesn’t mean you won’t hear from the two remaining members, Quavo and Offset. Both rappers have been working on their respective solo albums for a bit, and now, it looks like Quavo’s, Rocket Power is soon to be released.

After releasing the single “Turn Yo Clic Up” with Future last week, today, Quavo shared an album trailer on his Instagram. Fittingly, it features Quavo facing off with a rocket shuttle in the desert, gripping Takeoff’s Migos chain (the album’s title is an homage to Takeoff, whose own solo debut was called The Last Rocket).

In the song playing over the scene, Quavo mentions Offset’s departure from the group (“my cousin jumped out the car, I had to keep goin’”) and recent comments about their familial relationship (“now he tellin’ the whole world that we ain’t blood”), which was foundational to the group’s mythology. However, he measures the lyrics by remembering that “it’s all love.” The trailer ends with the title displayed on screen, along with the imminent release date: August 4, 2023. You can check out the trailer below.

Rocket Power is due on 8/4 via Quality Control Music/Motown/Capitol Records.

Quavo Hits Usher’s Vegas Residency with His Rumored New Boo

Quavo Sued for Assaulting a Limo Driver in Las Vegas

Usher’s Las Vegas residency remains the hottest ticket on the planet. Hitting the show was another Atlanta legend in Quavo, who was spotted with his rumored boo Erica Fontaine.

According to The Shade Room, Fontaine is a gymnast, and Usher asked for permission to sing to her during the show.

Last week, the Internet put Quavo and Lori Harvey in a new romance after the two were at the San Vincente Bungalows at the same time. According to TMZ, the two just coincidentally ate at the same place at the same time and were not together.

Quavo was reportedly at The Bungalows at a completely different table and was there for a business meeting. Harvey also hit TikTok comments to reveal she was out “having lunch with my besties.”

Meanwhile, Harvey is vacationing with her actual boyfriend, Damson Idris, in Saint Tropez.

Quavo Pops Out At Usher’s Show With Rumored New Boo

For those not caught up on the rumor mill, Quavo and Lori Harvey recently shut down rumors that they were seeing each other. Moreover, it seems like this came at a pretty convenient but also possibly messy time, because it seems like the former Migo just debuted a new relationship. Recently, he went to one of Usher’s shows with gymnast Erica Fontaine. “I hope you don’t mind if I serenade your lady real quick,” the singer told the Georgia rapper as he approached them in the crowd. While this is still just sheer speculation at the end of the day, it’s also a slightly stronger suggestion of a pairing than whatever got people thinking he and Lori Harvey had something going on.

Of course, this is also notable because of all the serenades that Usher offered to famous women recently. The most notable instance was Keke Palmer getting blasted by her boyfriend Darius Jackson for it, which went down a bit over a week ago. The latest famous female to fall under the R&B star’s spell was Kash Doll. Even though it’s unclear how much this applies to Quavo’s situation, as it’s just a rumor, it’s still at least fun to see the Confessions icon cheekily play into that, even if he might not care what results from it.

Regardless, Quavo has much bigger fish to fry ahead of the release of his next studio album, Rocket Power. Furthermore, he recently released the single “Turn Yo Clic Up” with Future, which caused its own online ruckus due to Fewtch’s lyrics. In addition, through messages to his late rap partner, it’s clear that this whole album and rollout is a tribute to Takeoff’s life and legacy. “Think About You All The Time I’ll Never Forget About You!!!,” the 32-year-old recently expressed on his Instagram Story. “I Miss U So Much And No One Will Take Yo Spot Twin U My Left Hand [left hand emoji] Come On Now!!! OTHERSIDE BOYS.”

Meanwhile, he also recently made up with his fellow former Migo Offset, as they reunited for a performance honoring Take. Considering all the speculated beef that they had and the group’s breakup, this was a very heartening moment for fans. After a lot of pain, struggle, and contention, hopefully this upward trajectory continues for all involved, whether in music, family, or love. On that note, keep checking in with HNHH for the latest news and updates on Quavo.

Future Seemingly Wants To Revive His Feud With Russell Wilson On Quavo’s ‘Turn Yo Clic Up’

Future and Quavo reignited their creative chemistry on Quavo’s new single “Turn Yo Clic Up,” but that isn’t the only thing being revived. It seems Future’s been carrying a torch for Russell Wilson all this time, and he drops a couple of lines on the song that has fans believing he’s stoking the flames of his one-sided rivalry with his ex-flame Ciara‘s current husband.

In his verse, Future throws out the line, “Big dawg status, bill hopper / I ball in his mall for my brothers / Goyard bag, tote the cutter / I got it out the field, fuck Russell.” The punchline plays on rappers referencing “the field” — i.e. “the streets,” “the mud,” “the trap” — with Wilson’s occupation as quarterback for the NFL’s Denver Broncos. Here’s the track:

Future has seemingly long resented Wilson; after splitting up with Future, with whom she shares one child, in 2014, Ciara moved on with Russell Wilson in 2016. They were married in July of that year, and ever since, it seems Future can’t seem to help throwing petty shots at Wilson, despite co-parenting with Ciara. In 2019, he accused Wilson of “not being a man in that position,” after Ciara responded to him naming her in his song “My Collection. (Seems like she’d stop talking about him if he’d stop talking about her, though. Also, he was the one who allegedly blew it, so he’s kind of throwing stones from a glass house.)

Russell has, thus far, shrugged off Future’s antics — which could all just be pantomime for fans of his “toxic” persona, anyway.
