Post Malone Only Remembers How ‘Strange-Looking’ He Is After A Few Drinks

Post Malone is an “ugly-ass motherf*cker,” according to himself in a 2020 GQ interview. While he’s currently admired by millions of fans, he may still feel some insecurity about his appearance: Malone was a guest on The Tonight Show yesterday and noted during his conversation with Jimmy Fallon that it is only in certain moments that he remembers how “strange-looking” (his words) he is.

While talking about Malone’s upcoming album Twelve Carat Toothache, Fallon asked Malone if he literally has twelve carats of metal and jewelry in his mouth. Malone didn’t have a definitive answer to that question but he did note after Fallon asked if he just stares at his mouth: “I’m such a strange-looking individual. Every time I look in the mirror, I don’t notice anything, but then I’ll have a couple Jägers or we’ll play [a drinking game] and I’ll look in the mirror and I’ll be like, ‘Dude, you’re such a weird guy!’”

Elsewhere during the conversation, Malone noted he has been corresponding with Bob Dylan. Fallon asked if they’ve met and Malone answered, “I have not met Bob Dylan but we have been… hmm, I don’t how much I’m at liberty to discuss. We’ve been chatting.” He added, “He’s always just been a voice in my head. Always just appreciated the music and appreciated the songwriting.

Check out the interview above. Malone, as he tends to do on The Tonight Show, played a drinking game with Fallon, so watch that below.

Post Malone Drops Lyrical Video For “Cooped Up” With Roddy Ricch

POST MALONE posty fest

Post Malone told us how much he admired Roddy Ricch’s musical talent when he previewed new music with him. Now the entire song is out and Posty and Roddy is ready to get active in “Cooped Up.”

Malone spoke very highly of the Compton artists. “He’s just such an incredible man and just a natural performer and vocalist and lyricist,” said Post about Ricch. “And he just gets after it, and it’s so cool. Dude, and just to watch him grow. And he’s such a beautiful, beautiful man. And so talented, man. I’m so pumped.”

Pumped he is. On the track Post uses is vocals to express the fact that he’s been away for so long that he feels “Cooped Up,” and as he said “it’s time to resurface.”

“I’m about to pull up, hit switch, pull curtain (hit switch, pull curtain).
And I’ve been waitin’ so long, now I gotta resurface (I gotta resurface).
And yeah, we ’bout to toast up, all that bread that we burnin’ (Burnin’, burnin’, burnin’). ‘Cause I’ve been feelin’ cooped up (Yeah) I’ve been fuckin’ cooped up (Mm-mm-mm).”

In the lyrical video, the chemistry between the two artists is on full display. “Cooped Up” sounds like a fun relief song and that’s what’s happening in the video. It’s apparent that these two have fun making music together and you can see it in their respective performance scenes, with the lyrics captioned below. Roddy Ricch slide on verse two with his melodic rap, complimenting Post Malone perfectly.

“Cooped Up” is the second single from Post Malone’s Twelve Carat Toothache’s album, which is set to drop on set to be released on June 3. Check out the lyrical video below.

Selena Gomez And Post Malone Are Labeled As ‘Divas’ In An ‘SNL’ Promo

Two Texas favorites will be heading to Rockefeller Studios this weekend for Saturday Night Live. Selena Gomez will host Saturday’s episode for the first time, and Post Malone will perform. Ahead of the upcoming episode, Selena and Posty joined SNL cast members Aidy Bryant and Bowen Yang for a promo video. In it, the two singers are labeled as “divas” while Posty, Bryant, and Yang inform Gomez that they sort of accidentally put ants into her pants.

Gomez’s appearance comes ahead of the premiere of season 2 of Only Murders In The Building, which streams on Hulu beginning June 28. A few weeks earlier, Malone will release his fourth studio album Twelve Carat Toothache on June 3.

Malone released Twelve Carat Toothache‘s lead single, “Cooped Up,” which features Roddy Rich. When speaking of the song, Malone told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, “The lyrics just came so quickly. We knew what we wanted to say and we knew what we wanted to express, not only in the song but in that particular moment on the album. And yeah, it just came super naturally. I couldn’t even tell you. I was probably on the sh*tter when I wrote it [laughs].”

Continuing on the album, Malone said Twelve Carat Toothache is “the most honest record I’ve made.”

Catch Selena Gomez and Post Malone on Saturday Night Live this Saturday at 11:30 p.m. EST.

Post Malone Was ‘Probably On The Sh*tter’ When He Wrote His Roddy Ricch Collab ‘Cooped Up’

After offering a brief teaser of his Roddy Ricch collaboration “Cooped Up” in April, Post Malone released the track today. As for the circumstances behind how “Cooped Up” came to be, it’s possible a toilet may have been involved.

While telling Apple Music’s Zane Lowe about how the song came together, Malone said, “The lyrics just came so quickly. We knew what we wanted to say and we knew what we wanted to express, not only in the song but in that particular moment on the album. And yeah, it just came super naturally. I couldn’t even tell you. I was probably on the sh*tter when I wrote it [laughs].”

He also spoke about his upcoming album Twelve Carat Toothache, saying, “That’s what the whole record is about: It’s the bipolar aspect and the duality of everything. And so, there’s a lot of things very much so on this record that are tongue in cheek. And I think this whole record is the most honest record I’ve made, and I’m so pumped for people to hear it. But every song in there tells a story, so this is kind of like, ‘Here’s the life that we live, but there’s always something going on in the background.’”

Post Malone And Roddy Ricch Reunite On The Moody ‘Cooped Up’

We’ve all been feeling cooped up over the past few years. Although restrictions have relaxed, we’re still in the middle of a global pandemic, which makes every excursion out of the house feel like a choice between safety and sickness. Post Malone encapsulates the feeling of release from this long-term run of cabin fever with his new single “Cooped Up,” featuring Compton rap crooner Roddy Ricch.

The new single is the duo’s first collaboration since 2019 when Roddy was added to Post’s 2018 single “Wow.” along with fellow West Coast rapper Tyga. The first single from Post’s record-breaking 2019 album Hollywood’s Bleeding, “Wow.” peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. It was one of Roddy’s earliest top ten singles, coming one month after his appearance on Nipsey Hussle’s “Racks In The Middle,” which earned both a Grammy for Best Rap Performance, and just about two months before he delivered Mustard his own highest-charting single with “Ballin’.”

As the first official single from Post’s upcoming album Twelve Carat Toothache, it looks like Posty’s trying to replicate the success of the duo’s respective 2019s — especially since this will be his first album since then. Hollywood’s Bleeding became the top-selling album of 2019, while its single “Circles” spent more time in the Hot 100 top ten than any song in history. If Roddy Ricch and Post Malone are each other’s good luck charms, “Cooped Up” could very well be the beginning of a very lucrative year for them both.

Post Malone Teases ‘Cooped Up,’ A Roddy Ricch Collaboration That’s Coming This Week

A few weeks ago, Post Malone took to Instagram Live to share quick previews of some upcoming music. One of those was “Cooped Up,” a collaboration with Roddy Ricch. Now, Malone has offered a more official teaser and noted the song is coming this week.

The 30-second teaser video doesn’t reveal much: None of the song can be heard and it mostly features footage of Malone smoking in the dark. The caption is where the info comes from, as Malone offers the song’s release date, writing, “Cooped Up with @RoddyRicch Thursday 12pm ET.”

The song is a meeting of chart champions, as Malone has four No. 1 singles to his name, his latest being 2019’s “Circles.” Ricch had his first (and so far, only) No. 1 single the next year when “The Box” topped the Hot 100. This won’t be their first collaboration, as Ricch (and Tyga) featured on a remix of Malone’s “Wow.”

The new single is set to appear on Twelve Carat Toothache, which currently has a June 3 release date. That’s not the only major life event Posty has on the horizon: He’s getting ready to perform on Saturday Night Live and become a father.

Selena Gomez Will Host ‘SNL’ Next Week With Musical Guest Post Malone

Actress/singer/cooking show host/former Barney cast member Selena Gomez has been tapped to host Saturday Night Live next week, May 14th, with musical guest Post Malone.

Gomez has performed on the show before, but this will be her first time hosting. The actress has been busy over the last year, launching a new mental health site and filming the second season of the surprisingly good Hulu series Only Murders In The Building alongside former SNL castmember Steve Martin and Martin Short. Perhaps Martin will show up for a cameo?

The second season of Only Murders will air this summer, featuring new cast members Cara Delevingne, Michael Rapaport, and Amy Schumer. The show follows a group of armchair detectives whose love of true crime podcasts lead them to solve various mysteries around their swanky New York City apartment building.

Post Malone is also slated to make his SNL debut ahead of his upcoming album, Twelve Carat Toothache, which drops June 3rd. He is gearing up to play a handful of festivals later this summer. The rapper also announced he is expecting his first child earlier this week.

It’s unclear if SNL favorite, and Post Malone’s pal, Pete Davidson will be back for this episode, as he is famously absent from a lot of the show. He’s been busy!
