Lizzo’s Yitty Brand Is Rolling Out ‘Gender-Affirming Shapewear For All Gender Identities’

Lizzo never misses an opportunity to speak up for the oppressed. She was recognized as the People’s Champion at the 2022 People’s Choice Awards because of her indomitable fight. Lately, she’s using her platform to support the transgender community. She began March by tweeting about transphobia, fatphobia, and racism; she’s ending it with an actionable step.

Lizzo has introduced “YOUR SKIN” from her Yitty brand, “gender-affirming shapewear for all gender identities.” Coincidentally (or perhaps not), Yitty officially launched one year ago today, March 30.

“You deserve to feel like you. You deserve to feel good in Your Skin,” Lizzo tweeted. “We’ve been working on this a long time & it’s finally ready! Binder tops & tucking thongs coming this summer!”

The official Yitty Instagram account added, “The rumors are true: YOUR SKIN by YITTY is coming late summer 2023 and will be here to stay, forever! Our Binder Top and Tucking Thong are designed with the comfortable, shaping compression y’all love, with additional seam and stitch details to keep you snatched AF in alllll the right places. Time to feel more like YOU.”

Lizzo also posted the news to Instagram alongside a behind-the-scenes video from the campaign shoot. Her caption explained what inspired her to create this line.

“I’ve watched countless videos of people crafting their own garments to wrap or tuck their bodies so their body can truly feel like theirs. I’ve heard people talk about their preference of wanting to be fluid in how they want to present their bodies depending on their mood or style of clothing. And I wanted to help,” she wrote. “I called my team at yitty and they immediately jumped to action. It took 2 years of extensive wear testing, community feedback, and attention to detail. I’m excited to say we have a great product that’s promises to grow and expand with Your needs.”

Lizzo continued, “I’ve already read positive comments about how we can offer more to the non-binary, trans, gender-fluid community I wanna hear more! Your feedback is not only valuable but a necessity to us. Because we do this for You. Every Damn Body. Xoxo Lizzo.”

The announcement comes a week after Lizzo took to Twitter to bring awareness to “anti-LGBTQIA legislation … being passed banning gender-affirming health care & drag shows”:

Doja Cat Wasted No Time Encouraging A Plastic Surgery Hater To Eat Her ‘Long, Quiet, And Warm Farts’

Doja Cat — who recently had some surgical procedures done, including a breast reduction and liposuction — is now pushing back in her typical fashion against what any haters have to say.

“Stop encouraging your young and impressionable fans to change their bodies,” someone tweeted at Doja earlier this week. A mere minute later, Doja, not having any of it, responded with, “eat my long quiet and warm farts.”

Despite the internet discourse, Doja posted last week that she feels happy with the work she’s gotten. “wish i could suck my own titties thats how good they look rn god damn,” she shared on Twitter. She also answered fans with genuine questions, noting that she still has about three months to heal and that her thighs hurt from the liposuction.

Last year, she also faced some online hate about some of her makeup looks and her decision to shave her head. It was her Paris Fashion Week that made some headlines in October, after she covered herself in gold paint. If we know anything now, though, it’s that Doja loves to experiment with her creative looks.

“I wasn’t trying to look sexy or attractive,” she tweeted. “All of my makeup has a story and there are absolutely 0 rules and if there were you wouldn’t be the one making them.”

Bad Bunny Stood By Throwing A Fan’s Phone After She Approached Like She Was Going To ‘Rob’ Him

There’s no denying that Bad Bunny is one of the biggest music stars in the world. But, like all human beings, Benito simply asks that you respect his privacy. A fan of his learned this the hard way this past January, when she came up to meet him, and then proceeded to record a video of them walking together. In a viral clip, Bad Bunny was seen throwing the fan’s phone into a nearby body of water.

In a new interview with Time shared today (March 28), Bad Bunny stood by his choice, noting that he was uncomfortable by the fan’s approach.

“If you’re coming up like you’re going to rob me, then yes, it’ll bother me,” he said. “Why do you want a picture with me? Because I’m the Statue Of Liberty?”

Over the course of his career, Bad Bunny has dominated the charts with reggaeton music — never having released a song in English. Elsewhere in the interview, he revealed that he didn’t care much to learn more English until recently. However, he noted that he would only record and put out a song in English when the time’s right.

“The day I feel like I need to do a song in English, ” he said, “I’ll do it because I feel it.”

Miley Cyrus’ ‘Flowers’ Is No. 1 For Another Week While Coi Leray Earns Her First Top-10 Song On The Hot 100 Chart

Miley Cyrus’ “Flowers” is a hit and it’s not slowing down: It came out about two-and-a-half months ago and it’s still the top song in the country. On the new Billboard Hot 100 chart dated April 1, “Flowers” is once again No. 1 for an eighth total week. The Endless Summer Vacation favorite was Cyrus’ first song to debut at No. 1 and is her second chart-topping single after “Wrecking Ball.”

She’s not the only one making noise on this week’s Hot 100, though, as two artists have made their debut in the top-10 on the new chart: Coi Leray’s “Players” has risen to No. 9 while TikTok-boosted country star Bailey Zimmerman’s “Rock And A Hard Place” is No. 10.

Previously, Leray had two songs reach the top 40 of the Hot 100: 2019’s “No More Parties” featuring Lil Durk peaked at No. 26 while last year’s Nicki Minaj collaboration “Blick Blick” topped out at No. 37. “Players” samples the Grandmaster Flash classic “The Message” and has become a hit on TikTok. She also recently released a Busta Rhymes-featuring remix of the song.

Zimmerman, meanwhile, is readying his debut album, Religiously. The Album., which is set for release on May 12 via Warner Music Nashville. “Fall In Love,” his debut single that immediately preceded “Rock And A Hard Place,” managed a Hot 100 peak at No. 29.

How Long Have Rosalía And Rauw Alejandro Been Dating?

No, it is not Valentine’s Day, but love is still in the air, or at least for international music stars Rosalía and Rauw Alejandro. Yesterday, the pair dropped the official visual for their latest single, “Beso,” off their collaborative EP RR. After fans eagerly tuned into the video, they were shocked to find out that the musicians had taken their relationship to the next level.

As the couple serenaded each other with sweet nothings, eventually, the singer flashed her hand to the camera to reveal that her ring finger was no longer bare. Immediately after seeing Rosalía’s gleaming diamond ring, fans flooded social media to congratulate the pair on their pending nuptials. While others were confused by the news, leaving them to ask how long have Rosalía and Rauw Alejandro been dating?

It is difficult to pinpoint an exact date, but according to People, the couple was first seen holding hands in August of 2021, thanks to the paparazzi catching them outside of The Nice Guy restaurant in West Hollywood. Overwhelmed by the online speculation, on the singer’s birthday in September of that same year, the couple formally announced they were indeed an item.

By November, the couple was still going strong, sharing their baecation to Mexico with fans. Later that month, the pair accompanied each other to the Los40 Music Awards in Palma de Mallorca, Spain, posing for the cameras upon their arrival.

Then the couple dialed it up a notch by the end of the month, discussing their relationship with the media. Rauw spoke with Entertainment Tonight, while Rosalía shared her thoughts with Rolling Stone.

After that, the couple remained relatively quiet outside of a few social media posts here and there. But in January 2022, when Rauw was being interviewed by Rolling Stone, he let the publication know that they were still madly in love. By April of that year, the pair had matching tattoos. Rauw has Rosalía’s tattooed on his belly, while Rosalía has Rauw’s initials tattooed on the bottom of her left foot.

The pair have not hidden their budding relationship in any way. Often posting under each other’s posts on social media, sharing flicks of their romantic getaways together, and walking several other red carpets together, including both the legacy and Latin Grammys.

Myke Towers Tells Us About His Genre-Bending Album ‘La Vida Es Una’ And Collaborating With J Balvin

The RX is Uproxx Music’s stamp of approval for the best albums, songs, and music stories throughout the year. Inclusion in this category is the highest distinction we can bestow, and signals the most important music being released throughout the year. The RX is the music you need, right now.

After solidifying himself as one of Latin music’s top rappers, Myke Towers is proving there’s no limits to his flow with his genre-bending album La Vida Es Una. While delivering more reggaeton and Latin trap bangers, the Puerto Rican artist also dabbles in Afrobeats, R&B, and house music influences. Towers shows that he’s an all-around Latin pop star on his LP, which features J Balvin, Daddy Yankee, Arcángel, and Ozuna.

Towers made his debut in 2020 with his first album, Easy Money Baby. The LP boasted his breakthrough hit “Si De Da” with Farruko. After scoring multiple reggaeton hits, he returned to his Latin trap roots with his 2021 album Lyke Mike. As an established force in both genres, Towers is now pushing his flow to new places while embracing a global sound that his fans around the world can enjoy.

Lyke Myke was something more for me,” Towers says. “With this album, I’m thinking more about my fans, what they want, and the kind of music they want to hear live. I made this album being more conscious of what people are looking for from me.”

The album’s title translates to “You Only Live Once” in English and Towers embodies that feel-good energy throughout the 23 tracks. Over Zoom, he caught up with Uproxx about what he wants his fans to take from La Vida Es Una, his big collaborations, and what’s coming next.

Why did you decide to name your album La Vida Es Una?

I gave it that name because lot of things have happened like with the pandemic. It makes you think, “There’s not a lot of time to follow your dreams, so have to give it your all.” They say you that you have take advantage of your time here and enjoy it. I’m always conscious of things like that. That you only live once.

In addition to reggaeton and trap, you explore genres like Afrobeats, R&B, reggae, and house music album. Why did you decide to branch out into those genres?

I wanted to take risks on a musical level and do things that I’m not used to. I’m at a level where I have a lot of fans so I have that responsibility to please them. I can’t limit myself. Thanks to them I’m at where I’m at now. I’m doing the music that I like to do with a mix of what my fans are asking for. With this album, we’re separating the Myke Towers with the “y” from the [Mike] with the “i.”

You collaborated with J Balvin for the song “Celos.” What was that experience like working with him?

I have a lot of respect and admiration for Balvin. He’s a guy that’s super humble. For example, if you write to him in a DM on Instagram, he will respond to you right away. That’s something that you don’t expect from him at the level of fame that he’s at. I’m always like a little boy asking many questions with people like him because I like to learn. We had a great time when we shot the music video together. The other day we went to an Afrobeats concert together. Balvin is a leader. He has my respect.

You salute reggaeton pioneers Don Omar and Tego Calderón in “Don & Tego.” What inspired you to make that homage with Arcángel?

The song “Bandoleros” by Don Omar and Tego Calderón is an anthem to me. It’s always playing around the world. There hasn’t been a time since that song has come out that it hasn’t been played anywhere. And as artists, they’ve inspired me like Arcángel. The name that made the most sense for me was “Don & Tego. ” I feel like this song was something that was missing in the streets. A very street reggaeton song that that we liked back then that inspired us. We made that with this song and I know when people listen to it, they’re really going to like it.

Another reggaeton G.O.A.T that you collaborated with is Daddy Yankee. What was the experience like working with him in “Ulala (Ooh La-La)”?

The legend allowed me appear on his album [Legendaddy] and now he’s appearing on mine. For me, that was like earning the respect from the leader of the genre. For him to be on my album, that’s above and beyond. My respect from D.Y. was earned in levels. First, he gave me advice before he was collaborating with me. He saw my process [in the studio] and told me — he knows how to identify what’s strong and what’s not. That’s why I’m sure of myself.

I love the R&B sound the “Cama King.” This is my first time hearing about Chita. Why did you decide to feature her on this song?

[The song’s producer] Tainy is a visionary. When I told him I was missing a female voice on this song, he said, “I know who would be good for this. Calm down.” When I heard what Chita sent, I went crazy. I didn’t meet her in person but I told her thank you for collaborating me with. I hope this is a blessing for her as much as it is for me. She’s a female Argentine artist and the women are killing it right now.

“Aguardiente” is a song that stands out to me because it has a really Colombian vibe.

I made that song with Sky. He’s Colombian. He one’s of those producers that I click well with. Every time we get together, we come out with classics without forcing anything. [The alcoholic drink] Aguardiente is something that’s clearly from Colombia and I wanted to make a song with that. It goes hard.

What do you want people to get out of this album?

I want people to get the message that sometimes we worry about things that aren’t worth it. We have to remember that you only live once. With what I do, I want to motivate people as well. Even though it seems easy, it’s not easy. I go through things as well. It might not be the same [problem] as yours but we’re going to get to a point where we can relate. With this album, I want to unite people when we sing it live together. It’s something to enjoy. I want them to do with it what they want, to dedicate it to who they want to dedicate it to, and to go out and enjoy it. When I’m in your country to perform, we’re going to sing everything together.

What do you want to accomplish next?

Thanks to God we’re making moves that we’ve never done before. Little by little, I’m taking my name, my island, my music, and my movement to new heights. I want to make an impact with young people. That’s where I’m inspired. I want them to feel that Myke Towers is with them. I want them to feel like they’re a part of my movement.

Teyana Taylor’s Lockdown Defense On Justin Bieber At A Basketball Game Is What Got Now-Husband Iman Shumpert To First Notice Her

Some couples have great meet-cute stories to tell at parties. It’s a pretty safe bet, though, that if it were a competition, no one would be able to top Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert‘s tale, which involves Justin Bieber, celebrity basketball, and Spike Tee’s stellar defensive instincts.

Taylor recounted the thrilling yarn during her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Thursday night to promote her new movie A Thousand And One, which apparently has a 100 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes. After she recalled her first meeting with Beyoncé (to teach her the Chicken Noodle Soup dance), Kimmel pulled out a photo of Taylor with Justin Bieber that was taken during a celebrity basketball game. In it, Bieber’s dribbling while being chased by Taylor, both grimacing from the effort.

“I was on his ass,” Taylor joked. “He was kinda showing off ’cause he knew he was good. I said, ‘Oh yeah? Aight, bet.’… But that was the very moment that my husband fell in love with me. He’s like, ‘Who is that girl? Her defense is on point!’” She said the similarity between them — Shumpert was known as a defensive specialist during his NBA days — got his attention but she made his pursuit… well, interesting.

“Even though he was feeling [me] this day, he didn’t get me that day!” she proclaimed. She explained, though, that it was three years before she agreed to go out with him. He remained persistent and they became friends and business partners (Taylor took on Shumpert as a styling client), but after getting to know him — and see him with his shirt off — they fell in love.
