Jessie Reyez Shares Her ‘Yessie’ Tracklist Which Includes A Feature From 6lack

With Jessie Reyez’s new album, Yessie, due out out on Friday, September 16th, the excitement is building for what the Canadian R&B/pop sensation has in store. The recently shared tracklist for Yessie stokes the fire on the album’s release with a featured appearance from Atlanta’s 6lack and a decorated slate of producers along for the ride as well.

Of the 11 tracks on the Yessie tracklist, 6lack’s appearance on “Forever” marks the only credited guest vocalist on the album. But as Reyez shared on Instagram, there’s some serious firepower behind the boards of Yessie as well. For starters, superproducer Calvin Harris adds some dance music flair to “Titos.” Meanwhile, Kehlani and Lizzo producer Pop Wansel is on the beat for “Queen St W.” producers RyKeyz and Tim SUby are featured on multiple tracks, along with others.

When Reyez announced the impending release date for Yessie last month, she dropped the album’s lead single “Mutual Friend” along with it and the powerful music video, which you can watch here.

Bad Bunny Rolled 80 Deep Into A Small Puerto Rican Restaurant Ahead Of One Of His Shows

Bad Bunny is in the midst of his World’s Hottest Tour of stadiums around North and South America. After passing through Texas last week, his Western US swing begins tonight at Oakland’s RingCentral Coliseum. But he was already in the Bay Area yesterday when he decided to bring 80 of his closest confidants out to dinner at a small, but popular Puerto Rican restaurant in the Bay Area.

“Over the phone, they just said, ‘We have 80 Puerto Ricans,’” Francisco Gomez of San Rafael Puerto Rican staple Sol Food told the San Francisco Chronicle. A caravan of black SUVs rolled up at around 6 p.m., and Bad Bunny stepped into the restaurant decked out in full Louis Vuitton get up, including an LV scarf covering his face. At one point, the “Tití Me Preguntó” singer went to the restaurant’s kitchen to err… lend a hand to the cooks, and posted a clip to his Instagram Story of the backstage restaurant jaunt:

Treating his dancers and tour staff to a homestyle Puerto Rican dinner while on tour comes with a reason celebrate for Bad Bunny and his team. On Monday, his album Un Verano Sin Ti, shot back up to the top of the Billlboard 200 chart, marking it’s 10th week atop the charts in 2022. With that, it broke the Encanto soundtrack’s record for the year of weeks at No. 1.

Jimmy Fallon Is Keeping His 2022 VMAs Beard But Not Because People Think He’s ‘So Hot Right Now’

At the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards a couple weeks ago, Jimmy Fallon was on hand to present Harry Styles the Album Of The Year award for Harry’s House. He ended up causing quite the stir by showing up with a new beard, which plenty of folks online found attractive. Later, Fallon acknowledged the ‘thirst’ and ‘confusion’ his VMAs appearance was causing on the internet.

Since then, he’s been back to hosting The Tonight Show and he still has the beard. Last night (September 12), Drew Barrymore guested on the program and she and Fallon have a strong rapport, considering they co-starred in Fever Pitch once upon a time and that Barrymore co-founded production company Flower Films with Fallon’s wife, producer Nancy Juvonen. So, she wasn’t shy about opening the interview by having some fun with Fallon’s look.

Fallon started by telling Barrymore that she looked good and Barrymore responded by exclaiming about how Fallon kept his beard. Barrymore then teased, “You love it because everybody’s saying you’re so hot right now. You love it and now you don’t want to lose it.” As Barrymore spoke and the audience cheered, Fallon bashfully laughed and said, “No, that’s not why I love it.”

After talking about it some more, Fallon offered an explanation (but not really) for why the beard has stuck around, saying, “I figured, I’m just going to keep it on. I have nothing… I figured… I don’t know why, I’m just going to leave it on…”

Kali Uchis Reveals She And Ariana Grande Are Planning A Collaboration

It may be a while before Ariana Grande puts out a follow-up to her sixth studio album, Positions. The “34+35” singer is hard at work on the film adaption of the stage musical, Wicked, in which, she will play Glinda the Good Witch.

The film will be released in two parts, the first in 2024, and the second in 2025.

Earlier this year, Grande admitted she hadn’t begun recording material for a seventh album, as she had been directing much of her energy toward Wicked, however, it appears she may already have some collaborations lined up once she’s ready to hit the booth again.

In a live stream on TikTok, Kali Uchis shared that she and Grande are planning to work together after Wicked wraps production.

“She’s not recording right now,” Uchis said, “because working on her movie stuff; her play that she’s doing… She said that when she’s done with that, we are going to work. I’m excited for that.”

While Wicked is sure to take some time, fans of Uchis can rest assured that new music is coming soon. In an interview with Vogue, Uchis revealed she has two albums underway; one in English, and one in Spanish.

“I just want to show all the different sides to me,” Uchis said, “and that I’m multi-dimensional when it comes to my music, my style, my everything. So I think it’s more about just having fun with it and letting my fans see and hear this other side of me that they never have before.”

Queen Elizabeth II’s Death Sparks Reactions From Elton John And Others In The Music World

Earlier today (September 8), Queen Elizabeth II died at 96 years old. Given how long the Queen had maintained a public presence, her passing prompted many reactions on social media, including from the music community.

Elton John, who Elizabeth knighted in 1998, wrote on social media today, “Along with the rest of the nation, I am deeply saddened to hear the news of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth’s passing. She was an inspiring presence to be around and led the country through some of our greatest and darkest moments with grace, decency and a genuine caring warmth. Queen Elizabeth has been a huge part of my life from childhood to this day, and I will miss her dearly.”

Duran Duran offered a lengthy post, writing, “Her Majesty the Queen has presided over the UK for longer than any other British monarch. She dedicated her life to the people and set an extraordinary example to the world throughout her reign. She’s seen changes that are beyond what any of us can imagine. She has faced challenges that she has risen to time and again. Her life has been remarkable in so many ways. We will all miss her and are grateful for the incredible service she gave to the people of Great Britain and the countries of the Commonwealth. We send our deepest condolence to the royal family. Her death brings to an end a long and unique chapter in the history of the United Kingdom and the world.”

Ozzy Osbourne also chimed in, “I mourn with my country the passing of our greatest Queen. With a heavy heart I say it is devastating the thought of England without Queen Elizabeth II.”

Rema And Selena Gomez Show Off Some Laid-Back Looks In Their ‘Calm Down’ Video

Two weeks after releasing the Selena Gomez remix of his hit song “Calm Down,” Afrobeats star Rema has followed up with the official video. The simple, sweet clip pairs the two singers on a variety of sets made up like a living room, a breakfast nook, and a garage, where they dance gently as they perform the song. Both are styled in laid-back looks; Rema rocks a few button-up shirts with elaborately braided hair adorned with cowrie shells, while Selena does corset tops with slacks and jeans.

Shortly ahead the release of the “Calm Down” remix, the Only Murders In The Building star shared a promo teaser in which she said, “I’m really excited to see the person that asked me to be on a song that I couldn’t be more honored to do. The song’s fun, I hope people like it. That’s all I want.” Meeting Rema backstage at his show in LA, she encourages him to “have fun” on stage, while he admits that he’s “shaking” to meet her. The remix could certainly go a long way toward driving his popularity stateside, opening up his music to a whole new audience. Meanwhile, it’s also a great way for Selena to get her feet wet as she apparently prepares to return to the spotlight herself after sharing a video of herself in a recording studio.

Lil Nas X Wants To ‘Smash’ Roger The ‘American Dad’ Alien

Lil Nas X has a new apple of his eye (or perhaps an existing one that he now has the opportunity to publicly yearn for): Roger, the wise-cracking alien from long-running animated series American Dad.

Yesterday, a post from the perspective of Roger shared on the American Dad Twitter and Instagram accounts read, “Save a horse, ride the guy who wrote Old Town Road or however the song goes. [cowboy emoji] Who else is planning their perfect fit for #Montero? #AmericanDad.” That captioned an image of Roger holding a Lil Nas X concert ticket and admiring a poster of the shirtless rapper.

Nas shared that and wrote, “i’ve finally peaked in life. i’m tryna bring roger backstage ngl [drooling emoji].” On the Instagram post, he wrote in three separate comments, “oh my god [crying emoji] [hearts emoji],” “pleaseeeee,” and, “roger please let me smash.”

Now is a great time for American Dad to be receiving this sort of attention, as yesterday (September 5), it just returned with its first new episode since March. The show, which debuted in 2005, is one of the longest-running scripted prime time television series in US history; The latest episode is the series’ 330th.

As for the Long Live Montero Tour, that kicks off tonight (September 6), so check out the dates here.
