DaBaby Accepts Plea Deal In Assault Case To Avoid Jail Time

DaBaby just got a big update in his 2020 assault case over an alleged sucker punch that he landed on 65-year-old Gary Pagar, the homeowner of a music video shoot’s location. While he wasn’t in L.A. County court on Thursday (July 11), he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery via his attorney Blair Berk and received a one-year probation sentence plus time served. Also, the “NAN” rapper must pay $10K in restitution, stay 100 yards away from Pagar, and cannot possess firearms or deadly weapons during his probation. The allegedly assaulted man claims he lost a tooth, whereas Baby claims he was racist against him during a confrontation at the house.

Nevertheless, Pagar still has some open cases against DaBaby for fraud, breach of contract, and battery, so maybe this whole situation isn’t fully over yet. But with this plea deal, a big chunk of that hurdle is now in the rearview, so things might not pop off again. The last update we had gotten on this case was that the North Carolina MC’s lawyer was very sick, and so they tried to postpone the alleged assault trial. Looks like everything turned out okay after all, so at least no one involved faced any additional complications.

But DaBaby isn’t just in the headlines for his more combative or confrontational antics from time to time, regardless of whether they result in a court trial. The fiery spitter can also be quite the generous soul as well, such as when he recently surprised a kid washing windows with $100, even though he charged him just five. Sometimes, this can just be for some quick social media clout, so not everyone is as impressed. But these moments can also have an impact on people’s lives that the Internet can never see.

Meanwhile, DaBaby is always one to clap back at the haters, so we doubt he’s too pressed over this court case. After all, when folks criticized him for not posting his kids on their birthday, he rightfully pointed out that his kids care about him, not about Instagram. We’ll see what other curious headlines and volatile moments emerge throughout the rest of 2024. For everyone’s sake, we hope they don’t make it to a courtroom.

Quando Rondo Agrees To Plea Deal In Federal Drug Case

Quando Rondo was on the fast track to stardom in the 2010s, but legal problems reared their ugly head. The rapper was sued for assault and battery in 2019, then was linked to a shooting at an Atlanta club in 2020. It got even worse in 2023. Rondo was arrested in June on charges related to drug sales and gang activity. He was released on bond, but arrested in December when the case turned federal. He pled not guilty to all charges. On June 25, 2024, the rapper decided to cop a plea deal.

United States Attorney Jill E. Steinberg filed documentation in the United States District Court Southern District of Georgia on Tuesday. The documentation stated that both sides have agreed to a plea deal. The details of the plea deal, however, were not revealed to the public. The judge presiding over the case has yet to make a decision on said deal. Quando Rondo is currently looking at two counts of conspiracy to violate Georgia’s Controlled Substances Act. He’s also charged with the use of communication facility in commission of a felony involving controlled substances.

Quando Rondo’s Plea Details Has Not Been Revealed

The rapper has made an attempt to turn his life around in light of these serious charges. Quando Rondo recently celebrated eight months of sobriety on Instagram. “I been sober 8 months straight,” he wrote in the caption. “I came along way boy. Thats the only thing I appreciate about this life I finally love being sober. I used to take so many drugs. Tblacc & Pluto them used to say I’m tripping but I’m surprised I didn’t OD. Thats just mean that I’m here 4 a reason.”

The rapper has also had to contend with hate from King Von fans. The aforementioned Atlanta shooting led to Von’s death, and many of his fans hold Quando Rondo partially responsible. The latter addressed this hate during a recent No Jumper interview. “When God call your a*s home you got to go, brother,” he opined. “So, I feel like everybody who is against me because of a past situation, I don’t give a f**k about them because they never been my fans from the get-go.”

Pop Smoke Murder Trial Faces Delay Due To Alleged Killer Failing To Negotiate Plea Deal

The murder case of Pop Smoke still persists, and the court just found a new obstacle in their way on the path to justice. Moreover, the court issued a new start date for the trial of Corey Walker, the case’s sole adult defendant and the New York drill rapper’s alleged killer. Apparently, Walker failed to reach a proper plea agreement in time with prosecutors, and must now wait a bit longer for his trial unless he and his legal team are able to mitigate this. It’s been over four years since Pop tragically passed away following a home invasion, but we seem no closer to giving his loved ones peace and his supposed killers accountability.

Furthermore, this follows the recent news that one of Pop Smoke’s alleged killers actually got out of prison recently, seemingly for his 21st birthday. The individual pleaded guilty a couple of years ago, so it looks like he completed his sentence and now walks the streets a free man. Social media posts indicated this online, and this is one of the other underage defendants that served time in juvie. It’s unclear whether these developments will cross over in some way or if one’s release has nothing to do with the other’s attempts at a plea deal.

“Negotiations fell through,” Corey Walker’s attorney Deion Benjamin told Rolling Stone of the Pop Smoke case. “But there’s still a possibility we’ll come to an agreement. A few things need to be ironed out; if they don’t get resolved, we’ll go to trial.” Jury selection will begin on August 6 if they can’t reach a plea agreement.

“We didn’t know each other at all, but it was you who changed my life..” an alleged witness to the crime said of Pop Smoke. “I never thought that I would become a witness to a murder and someone’s death. February 19, 2020 the worst night of my life.. I will never forget your smile when you turned on the movie Hitch..I will never forget how scared we were that night when we looked into each other’s eyes and realized that we were about to be killed. I remember what I thought at that moment (am I really going to die and my mother will never see me again) God gave me a second chance ..that’s 4 years of depression 4 years were so hard. But I thank God for life.I will never forget you.. you will forever be in my heart.”

Rich The Kid Takes Plea Deal In Miami Bomb Threat Case

Rich The Kid has accepted a plea deal in the case regarding a bomb threat in Miami from last year. At the time, authorities arrested him for refusing to follow police orders and going beyond a perimeter they had set up around a hotel for the investigation. He’s now pleaded no contest to resisting arrest and trespassing, which will allow him to avoid jail time. He will, however, have to pay a $1,000 fine.

His legal team said, as caught by HipHopDX: “We believed that if we proceeded to go to trial we would have been successful. The offers leading up to the trial included a period of supervision. That being said, our client is pleased with the outcome of time served and a fine to resolve the matter and looks forward to continued success.”

Rich reportedly was so intent on entering the hotel because he wanted to speak with a promoter who owed him money. The debt apparently stemmed from an appearance at Hyde Beach nightclub alongside NLE Choppa and A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie.

Rich appeared unfazed on social media after the initial arrest. At the time, he shared several clips from Scarface. In one scene, Tony Montana remarks: “You want to waste my time? Okay. I call my lawyer. He’s the best lawyer in Miami. He’s such a good lawyer that by tomorrow morning, you’re gonna be working in Alaska… so dress warm.” Following the incident, Rich teamed up with Kanye West, Ty Dolla Sign, and Playboi Carti to appear on Vultures for the track, “Carnival.” The song peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100, making for Rich’s first time reaching the spot. Young Thug Trial: YSL Affiliate Questioned About Wearing A Wire After Plea Deal

The latest development in the Young Thug trial, also involving the rest of YSL on RICO charges, concerns one of the collective’s alleged co-founders, Walter “DK” Murphy. Moreover, he sat on the witness stand recently as a part of his plea deal, similar to the one that Gunna also accepted as a former defendant. During this testimony, an attorney asked him about his alleged compliance with wearing a wire back in July of 2015, and that he agreed to be an informant. Murphy retorted that he “can’t recall” ever agreeing to this or wearing a wire at all, staunchly denying that he was, or ever agreed to be, an informant.

Furthermore, this specific issue deals with what Young Thug’s lawyer Brian Steel once called one of the most damaging things in this trial: plea deals. While it’s impossible to blame someone for how they handled these strenuous circumstances many of us have no experience with, it’s also difficult to reckon with this testimony when it’s a part of an agreement like this. Still, since the trial’s inception almost two years ago, there are more relevant issues today that are plaguing its efficacy, objectivity, and clarity. For example, a state witness became very uncooperative with the prosecution’s questions, derailing their intention to strengthen their case.

Alleged YSL Co-Founder Addresses Wire Claims In Young Thug Trial: Watch

In addition, some very concerning reports and testimonies emerged about members of the prosecution harassing a female witness. These incidents ranged across two specific instances from the District Attorney’s office: platitudes to pressure the woman into testifying and an investigator inappropriately flirting with her. Even though this is a pretty disturbing look, it’s not like the defense has fully been able to reverse the narrative, whether due to circumstance or by choice. Many of the problems in proving the veracity of this case come from the prosecution, but little in the way of countering evidence has swayed the court’s path.

Meanwhile, these reports also come amid updated witness lists, on which Lil Wayne no longer appears. In addition, the court also clarified whether Gunna will be a witness in this case or not, both for eligibility as a witness and for actually making it to trial. Maybe these witnesses will also prove either crucial or backfiring for the prosecution or defense. Either way, stay up to date on HNHH for the latest news and more updates on Young Thug and the YSL RICO case.

Jam Master Jay Case: Third Murder Suspect Could Avoid Trial With Plea Deal

In February of this year, Karl Jordan Jr. and Ronald Washington were found guilty of the murder of Run-DMC icon Jam Master Jay, and one of their alleged co-conspirators is currently awaiting trial. The third suspect, Jay Bryant, is currently in talks with prosecutors about a plea deal, per his attorney Cesar de Castro. This means it’s possible for Bryant to avoid going to trial altogether.

Reportedly, these conversations began in the weeks following the other two suspects’ guilty verdicts. Jordan and Washington are accused of killing Jam Master Jay over a drug deal. Allegedly, Bryant helped the duo gain entry to the recording studio where he was murdered, opening a fire escape door.

Jay Bryant Allegedly Assisted Karl Jordan Jr. and Ronald Washington In The Murder Of Jam Master Jay

American hip hop group Run-DMC (American rapper Joseph ‘Run’ Simmons, American musician and DJ Jason ‘Jam Master Jay’ Mizell (1965-2002), and American rapper Darryl ‘DMC’ McDaniels) attend the 1987 Soul Train Music Awards, held at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium in Santa Monica, California, 23rd March 1987. Run-DMC won the awards for ‘Best Rap Single’ for ‘Walk This Way; and ‘Best Rap Album’ for ‘Raising Hell’. (Photo by Vinnie Zuffante/Getty Images)

Bryant’s DNA was found on a hat located in said studio. Previously, his uncle accused him of carrying out the actual shooting, but no other witnesses corroborated his claim. He’s “involved, but he’s not the killer,” according to Assistant U.S. Attorney Artie McConnell.

“More than two decades after they killed Jason Mizell in his recording studio, Jordan and Washington have finally been held accountable for their cold-blooded crime driven by greed and revenge,” U.S. Attorney Breon Peace stated after Jordan and Washington were found guilty on all counts. “That the victim, professionally known as Jam Master Jay, was a Hip-Hop icon and Run-DMC’s music was born in Hollis, Queens, in this very district, and beloved by so many, adds to the tragedy of a life senselessly cut short.” What do you think of another one of Jam Master Jay’s accused killers being in talks about a plea deal? Marshawn Lynch has accepted a plea deal in his Las Vegas DUI case just hours before his trial was set to begin. Lynch’s misdemeanor DUI will be reduced to misdemeanor reckless driving. Jose Lozano claimed that Lynch damaged his phone after taking issue with Lozano trying to take a photo with him. Lozano then claims that Lynch grabbed his phone and damaged the screen before leaving.

It’s unclear why Lozano had been filming Lynch outside the bar when he claims that he only wanted a picture. It’s possible that Lozano was attempting to antagonize the former Seahawks star by approaching him after being directly told that Lynch didn’t want to take pictures. However, Lozano also TMZ that he doesn’t intend to press charges as he’s a fan of Lynch. Despite this, Lozano did express a wish that Lynch hadn’t “been so rude”. Tiffany Haddish Accepts Plea Deal In LA DUI Case

In November of last year, Tiffany Haddish was arrested and hit with her second DUI. The arrest reportedly took place after the comedian fell asleep behind the wheel of her car, where authorities found her parked improperly. She was released only hours later, and back onstage doing stand-up in record time, despite facing two misdemeanor DUI charges. “I prayed to God to send me a man with a job, preferably in uniform. God answered my prayers,” she joked onstage that same evening.

Luckily for her, however, those misdemeanor charges have since been dropped. The Haunted Mansion actress appeared in court in LA today where she accepted a plea deal. Following her arrest, Haddish shared plans to “get some help” in order to avoid something similar happening again in the future.

Kevin Porter Jr Reaches Plea Deal In Girlfriend Assault Case

Kevin Porter Jr has reached a plea agreement with a New York court in regard to assault allegations filed last year. Porter Jr will plead guilty to misdemeanor assault and a harassment violation. However, he will be allowed to withdraw his plea if he completes a 26-week partner intervention program. This will essentially clear Porter Jr’s record if he completes this condition. “The resolution will allow Mr. Porter to put this incident, which involved false felony allegations and false facts, behind him with no criminal record and move forward,” Porter Jr’s attorneys said.

Porter Jr has long denied any allegations made against him. This was corroborated by his girlfriend and alleged victim Kyrze Gondrezick. The former WNBA player denied that Porter Jr had assaulted her and accused a New York DA of “manipulating” her. “It has been deeply frustrating and disturbing by the manipulation of what was stated by the prosecution.
