Timbaland Suggests Kanye West Should Perform At Super Bowl

In the last few years, the Super Bowl halftime show has embraced hip-hop and R&B artists more than ever. Rihanna’s performance on Sunday (Feb. 12) was just the latest portion of this trend. 2022 saw an incredible West Coast hip-hop tribute with Dr. Dre and friends. 2020 saw a spectacular solo performance by The Weeknd. 2019 saw Travis Scott and Big Boi of Outkast join Maroon 5 on stage. All of these dynamic artists on the big screen have shown the world how great these genres are.

These continuously marvelous performances have made fans consider what other rappers or singers they would want to see at the big game. Additionally, they have also made people ponder who else could have been added to these performances. For example, Jay-Z and Roc Nation helped Rihanna prepare for her performance, though Hov did not get brought out to perform. Along with Jay-Z, some fans also wished Kanye West could have joined Rih on stage. Rihanna performed songs that both Jay-Z and Ye were part of. These included “All of the Lights,” “Run This Town” and “Umbrella.” Regardless, she still did an impeccable job.

Timbaland Campaigns For Ye

Of these people hoping to see Ye at the Bowl was his longtime friend and collaborator Timbaland. Timbaland has helped produce Ye hits like “Good Life” and “Stronger,” as well as many of JESUS IS KING‘s songs. This is likely why he wants to see Ye have his own set at the Super Bowl someday. In a recent Instagram video, he explains his reasoning. “Yo I was thinking, if Kanye was to do the Super Bowl, that almost would be like watching Motown 25,” he said. “Cause that boy is serious. Don’t you ever forget it.” Additionally, Timbaland captioned his video with: “Dat boy ye doing the Super Bowl. They wouldn’t be ready.”

It would probably not be very likely that Ye would do a Super Bowl anytime soon. Unfortunately for Timbaland, his recent comments regarding the Jewish community would probably keep him from this stage. But, that does not mean that his impact is still not being felt. Some fans noticed that Rihanna’s outfit for her performance heavily resembled Kanye’s from one of the Donda listening parties. So, while Ye likely won’t hit the Super Bowl stage soon, his songs and aura are still felt.

Rihanna’s Super Bowl Halftime Show Stuns The World

After all the wait, hype, and about seven years of waiting for Rihanna to return to the music stage, her Super Bowl halftime show was quite the sight. From her insane stage design, engaging choreography, and abundant catalog of hits, the performance offered a lot to both stadium audiences and fans watching from their couch. While no special guests appeared, the singer gave a wonderful performance and oozed confidence as she sang her best hits. Also, she even took the chance to plug some Fenty products during her performance, as she used a mirror and blush.

To start things off, she played a short video with her track “What’s My Name?” When we finally saw RiRi above the football field- wait, above the field? Furthermore, she stood on a suspended platform far above the field, with other stages reserved for some of her backup dancers. Her actual performance, though, began with her banger, “B***h Better Have My Money.” Also, she showed off a beautiful red ensemble as she sang and floated up and down. Eventually, the star singer returned to Earth, but went back and forth between her main stage and the floating platforms.

Rihanna’s Super Bowl Halftime Show Setlist

In fact, the 34-year-old’s setlist transitioned and mashed up with itself perfectly. For example, she transitioned her next track, “Where Have You Been,” into “Only Girl In The World” as her white-dressed backup dancers seemed like a hive mind of great dance. Then, she played more classics like “We Found Love” with fireworks, “S&M,” “Rude Boy,” and “Work.” In addition, she went seamlessly into “Wild Thoughts” before walking off stage and transitioning into “Pour It Up.” Most surprisingly, she played a short snippet of the Kanye West track “All Of The Lights,” where she gives an iconic vocal line.

Rounding out her performance, she rose again after playing “Run This Town” with a live band. Finally, she graced fans with two of her most iconic songs to end it off: “Umbrella” and “Diamonds,” during which she might’ve made a crazy announcement. Moreover, many people believe that Rihanna is pregnant with her second child, though that just might be the Internet reading too deeply into a belly. Regardless, let us know what you thought of Rihanna’s show down below and come back to HNHH for the latest updates.

Rihanna Is “The Best Singer Of All Time” According To Chris Martin Of Coldplay

Just a day before Sunday’s Super Bowl (February 12), it’s really starting to settle in. Rihanna will grace the stage for a spectacular halftime show, and Chris Martin of Coldplay recently called her “the best singer of all time.” With that hype surrounding her performance, it’s no wonder fans can barely contain their anticipation. Moreover, that’s true of everyone, from the most humble of fans to the most lucrative of pop stars. Furthermore, Martin recently spoke to Zane Lowe about RiRi’s incredible talent, career longevity, and breadth of enterprise.

“You have to be an idiot not to recognize that she’s the best singer of all time,” he told Lowe. While it’s quite the hot (and biased) take, we can’t fault the 45-year-old for his passion. Still, he continued to explain his admiration for the Barbadian hitmaker. “I don’t know Rihanna very well, I’m mainly just a fan. We performed with her a few times and it is rarer and rarer for her to just sing, which is what makes it even more special. In a strange way, it shows that she really, really wants to do it. No one can make Rihanna do anything at this point. I’m very biased because I’m such a big Rihanna fan. I mean, I think she could just walk out in sweatpants and sing, and that would be just great.”

Furthermore, the two’s collab track “Princess Diana” appeared on Coldplay’s fifth studio album, 2011’s Mylo Xyloto. It became a big hit, with a music video and various live performances to boot. Also, the praise from Martin means a lot, considering he knows a thing or two about Super Bowl halftime shows. In fact, Coldplay performed alongside Bruno Mars and Beyoncé at the 2015 game. Moreover, many might consider that performance one of the more beloved Super Bowls in recent memory.

Regardless, the “Diamonds” singer said that her 13-minute show is “almost impossible” to pull off. “I mean,” she said during an Apple Music press conference about the show. “It’s literally, like, 300 to 400 people breaking the stage down and building it back up and getting it out in eight minutes. It’s incredible, it’s almost impossible.” Whatever she’s got in store, everyone’s betting on her pulling it off. Check back in with HNHH for the latest on Rihanna and her amazing Super Bowl halftime show this year.

Drake Recreates Apollo Show At Super Bowl Party, Cardi B Also Performs

It’s Super Bowl Weekend, and Drake just recreated his now-iconic Apollo Theater performance at a pop-up party. Moreover, the event took place at Hanger 1 of Scottsdale Airport, and also featured a stellar performance from Cardi B. Also, there were a whole slew of celebrities in attendance who caused quite the stir of their own. As Drizzy took the stage, he shouted out his “brother Zach” and said promoters originally asked him for a couple of songs for 20 minutes. Moreover, he said since Zach missed the Apollo show, he asked fans if they’d rather hear the classics. Of course, they roared and cheered, and his show got started.

Furthermore, Cardi B also performed, although it seems she also did another event at W Hotels. Still, maybe they’re all part of the same umbrella, and are definitely all part of the same weekend-long party. Tomorrow (February 12), the Kansas City Chiefs will face the Philadelphia Eagles with a halftime spectacle from Rihanna. As such, there were a lot of celebrities in attendance last night (February 11), most notably Cher and boo AE Edwards. While their relationship is one of the more polarizing online, you can’t deny it’s also one of the most eye-catching.

Meanwhile, Winnie Harlow came through in a beautiful and creatively cut denim jumpsuit. However, not everyone’s fashion choices were as beloved, as Rich the Kid rocked the viral Big Red Boots from MSCHF. Also in attendance were Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox, the former in what looks like a tight Care Bears top and black leather pants. Fox, on the other hand, wore a black dress and even matched MGK’s pink sunglasses with a pink hand cast.

However, even Serena Williams made it to the bash. Of course, this should raise eyebrows for any Drake fan given his recent disses on his album Her Loss. On the track “Middle of the Ocean,” he called her husband a “groupie” for seemingly little to no reason. If anyone can get away with these kinds of bars, it’s Drake, but it was odd to see Serena witness her former flame. Who knows what awkward interaction might’ve happened. Regardless, come back to HNHH for the latest news on Drake and what Super Bowl Weekend will bring.

Yo Gotti & GloRilla Respond To Oakland Water-Throwing Performance Incident

GloRilla has had an undeniably quick rise to the top over the past few years. There have been plenty of big moments to celebrate in that time. Still, the 23-year-old has also endured her share of tough lessons. The most recent one took place earlier this week when an angry Oakland crowd seemingly threw water toward the rap diva after she failed to perform for them.

As per TMZ, the “F.N.F.” hitmaker was in the Bay Area on Wednesday (February 8), visiting New Karibbean City nightclub. As Glo and her team made their way toward the venue’s door, a video shows a drink soaking her jacket, immediately causing tensions to rise. “F*ck you bitch,” someone else yells toward the Memphis native. This consequently saw a drink thrown their way from the artist’s team.

Con B, a local promoter, has shared his side of the story. He claims that he paid GloRilla’s label, CMG, $30K to have her perform at the club. In his explanation video, @conbmusic made it known that he’s expecting a full refund. Prior to the event, he promised on his Instagram Story, “she will be performing live… Not hosting, not a walkthrough. She will be performing live in Oakland, CA, TONIGHT!!”

In the hours since Con spoke his truth, Yo Gotti has come out refuting those claims with some of his own. “$30K to perform,” he wrote on Instagram alongside a row of crying-laughing emojis. “[You] must [have] booked Lil Glo, NOT Big Glo #CMG.” Additionally, the “FTCU” hitmaker herself got some things off her chest over on Twitter.

“Ain’t no ho spit on shit!!!!!!” GloRilla wrote after the video began going viral. “Ask dat ho how ha face feel doe. No way you think I’m performing when you paid for a hosting, crazy tail self.” According to TMZ, only a few rowdy patrons were upset that she didn’t take the stage, otherwise, the environment was fun.

The southern rapstress is currently on tour following the arrival of her debut EP last year. She took to the stage in San Francisco earlier on Wednesday night, which likely explains her reluctance to put on another performance. Read more about GloRilla’s latest adventures here, and check back later for more hip-hop news updates.
