Drake Recreates Apollo Show At Super Bowl Party, Cardi B Also Performs

It’s Super Bowl Weekend, and Drake just recreated his now-iconic Apollo Theater performance at a pop-up party. Moreover, the event took place at Hanger 1 of Scottsdale Airport, and also featured a stellar performance from Cardi B. Also, there were a whole slew of celebrities in attendance who caused quite the stir of their own. As Drizzy took the stage, he shouted out his “brother Zach” and said promoters originally asked him for a couple of songs for 20 minutes. Moreover, he said since Zach missed the Apollo show, he asked fans if they’d rather hear the classics. Of course, they roared and cheered, and his show got started.

Furthermore, Cardi B also performed, although it seems she also did another event at W Hotels. Still, maybe they’re all part of the same umbrella, and are definitely all part of the same weekend-long party. Tomorrow (February 12), the Kansas City Chiefs will face the Philadelphia Eagles with a halftime spectacle from Rihanna. As such, there were a lot of celebrities in attendance last night (February 11), most notably Cher and boo AE Edwards. While their relationship is one of the more polarizing online, you can’t deny it’s also one of the most eye-catching.

Meanwhile, Winnie Harlow came through in a beautiful and creatively cut denim jumpsuit. However, not everyone’s fashion choices were as beloved, as Rich the Kid rocked the viral Big Red Boots from MSCHF. Also in attendance were Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox, the former in what looks like a tight Care Bears top and black leather pants. Fox, on the other hand, wore a black dress and even matched MGK’s pink sunglasses with a pink hand cast.

However, even Serena Williams made it to the bash. Of course, this should raise eyebrows for any Drake fan given his recent disses on his album Her Loss. On the track “Middle of the Ocean,” he called her husband a “groupie” for seemingly little to no reason. If anyone can get away with these kinds of bars, it’s Drake, but it was odd to see Serena witness her former flame. Who knows what awkward interaction might’ve happened. Regardless, come back to HNHH for the latest news on Drake and what Super Bowl Weekend will bring.

Yo Gotti & GloRilla Respond To Oakland Water-Throwing Performance Incident

GloRilla has had an undeniably quick rise to the top over the past few years. There have been plenty of big moments to celebrate in that time. Still, the 23-year-old has also endured her share of tough lessons. The most recent one took place earlier this week when an angry Oakland crowd seemingly threw water toward the rap diva after she failed to perform for them.

As per TMZ, the “F.N.F.” hitmaker was in the Bay Area on Wednesday (February 8), visiting New Karibbean City nightclub. As Glo and her team made their way toward the venue’s door, a video shows a drink soaking her jacket, immediately causing tensions to rise. “F*ck you bitch,” someone else yells toward the Memphis native. This consequently saw a drink thrown their way from the artist’s team.

Con B, a local promoter, has shared his side of the story. He claims that he paid GloRilla’s label, CMG, $30K to have her perform at the club. In his explanation video, @conbmusic made it known that he’s expecting a full refund. Prior to the event, he promised on his Instagram Story, “she will be performing live… Not hosting, not a walkthrough. She will be performing live in Oakland, CA, TONIGHT!!”

In the hours since Con spoke his truth, Yo Gotti has come out refuting those claims with some of his own. “$30K to perform,” he wrote on Instagram alongside a row of crying-laughing emojis. “[You] must [have] booked Lil Glo, NOT Big Glo #CMG.” Additionally, the “FTCU” hitmaker herself got some things off her chest over on Twitter.

“Ain’t no ho spit on shit!!!!!!” GloRilla wrote after the video began going viral. “Ask dat ho how ha face feel doe. No way you think I’m performing when you paid for a hosting, crazy tail self.” According to TMZ, only a few rowdy patrons were upset that she didn’t take the stage, otherwise, the environment was fun.

The southern rapstress is currently on tour following the arrival of her debut EP last year. She took to the stage in San Francisco earlier on Wednesday night, which likely explains her reluctance to put on another performance. Read more about GloRilla’s latest adventures here, and check back later for more hip-hop news updates.

Post Malone’s Rep Denies That He’s Sick Or On Drugs After Alarming Performance Video

Post Malone fans expressed their concern for the singer this week. The singer is currently in Australia for several shows but a recent video of her performance alarmed fans. Post Malone lost significant weight. However, his on-stage movements left many believing that he could be struggling with health issues. Some suspected that he was battling an illness while others suggested he was struggling with addiction.

A rep for the singer spoke to TMZ to confirm that he’s neither sick nor addicted to any substances. Apparently, his weight loss came after he gained weight for a movie role. Since he wrapped up filming, Post committed himself to a strict diet and workout regimen. Additionally, the rep said Post has been touring relentlessly since September, doing 90-minute sets each night. Touring also played a big role in weight loss.

In addition to the rep’s statement, Post Malone’s father also chimed in. He confirmed that Post Malone is in the best form he’s been in for a long time. “Healthiest he’s been in years! Mentally and physically,” he commented on a post. Needless to say, fans were relieved to find out that Post Malone was actually in better shape than he appeared on stage during his recent concerts.

Post Malone is currently on tour in support of his latest project, Twelve Carat Toothache. His new project boasted 14 songs in total with appearances from Roddy Ricch, Doja Cat, The Weeknd, Gunna, and The Kid Laroi. He went on the road in America throughout the tail end of 2022 with Roddy Ricch as his opening act. At this point, he doesn’t have many tour dates in the U.S. in 2023 but he will be performing at Bottle Rock Napa Valley 2023 in California on May 26th.

In other Post-related news, new reports emerged revealing that he’ll appear in season 10 of Impractical Jokers. Apparently, Post and Brian Quinn nearly got arrested while filming a prank. Quinn explained that they pretended to be parking attendants at a lot in NYC. At one point, they pulled a prank on someone who actually called the cops. However, the person was, fortunately, a fan of the show and laughed it off.

Willie D Blasts Grammys For Including Scarface, But Not Geto Boys, In Hip-Hop Tribute

While it’s impossible to fit every hip-hop icon into one performance for its 50th anniversary, some omissions feel easily avoidable. Willie D just called out the Grammys for inviting Scarface to perform, but not the rest of the Geto Boys. Moreover, Scarface delivered his verse on the 1991 classic “Mind Playing Tricks On Me.” The fantastic homage at the 65th annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena on Sunday (February 5). Also, the near-14-minute show included many legends, from Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five to Nelly and even Lil Baby. However, when Scarface delivered the medley’s first Southern staple, his fellow Geto Boy Willie D was nowhere to be seen.

Afterwards, Willie took to Instagram to express his frustrations. Moreover, he’s the only other living member of the Houston group, as Bushwick Bill passed away in June of 2019. “A reminder to the Grammys and all the rest of y’all out there trying to hustle the Geto Boys brand by only including Scarface, who had a stellar solo career: How in the hell are you gonna have a 50-year tribute to Hip Hop and not include Geto Boys the group?” Willie asked. “If you forgot, the group includes Scarface and Willie D. How you gonna use a performance that includes a song that I co-wrote but not even have the decency, the respect to reach out to me and ask me if I wanted to participate? Y’all are some clowns for that. All the way out of pocket. Whoever made the call, y’all some clowns… No more talking.”

Also, he captioned his post with ““Disrespectful Mofos!!! No mo’ talk.” In fact, some people even questioned why Scarface himself didn’t give him a call or decline performing without him. Still, Questlove clearly curated this spectacle with a lot of heart and passion. With that in mind, we don’t know who was directly responsible for this specific decision. Regardless, the Roots drummer partnered with Nas’s Mass Appeal to bring hip-hop’s fifty years to life. “Hip Hop has been a driving force in the music and the culture,” he expressed. “It’s had an immeasurable impact on our culture and our world and I’ve had the great privilege of co-curating this thing with the Roots and many others that are gonna join us that night.”

Meanwhile, LL Cool J finished the performance with a hopeful gaze towards the future, and by acknowledging the long journey. “From The Bronx to the five boroughs, to the West Coast to the Heartland; overseas to Europe, to Africa, to Asia; TikTok, whatever’s next,” he said. “Because thanks to the 33 Hip Hop artists on stage and the countless more we love, Hip Hop is a global platform today. We’re celebrating. Happy 50th anniversary to Hip Hop, baby!” Come back to HNHH for the latest news on the Grammys, hip-hop history, and underrepresented legends.

Jay-Z Performs “GOD DID” With Lil Wayne, DJ Khaled, & More At Grammys

Jay-Z took over the 2023 Grammy Awards on Sunday night for a performance of his collaboration with DJ Khaled, “GOD DID.” John Legend, Lil Wayne, Fridayy, Khaled, and Rick Ross joined him during the event. The group performed the song outside of Crypto.com arena next to a set dinner table. “We did an 8-minute song on the Grammys!” Khaled remarked to the cameras.

“GOD DID” dropped back in August 2022 as the title track from Khaled’s thirteenth studio album. Jay-Z handles four minutes of the star-studded song’s runtime. The track peaked at 17 on the US Billboard Hot 100.

In addition to performing “GOD DID,” the group was also nominated for Song Of The Year, Best Rap Performance, and Best Rap Song with the track. Despite this, “GOD DID” failed to win in any of the three categories. The nominations left Jay-Z in a tie with his wife, Beyoncé, for the most in Grammys history. The couple both have 88 nominations throughout their careers. Beyoncé, however, become the artist with the most wins on Sunday night, reaching 32 total Grammy awards.

“I’m trying not to be too emotional and I’m trying to just receive this night,” Beyoncé said during her acceptance speech for Best Dance/Electronic Album. “I want to thank god for protecting me. Thank you, god. I’d like to thank my uncle Johnny, who’s not here, but he’s here in spirit. I’d like to thank my parents. My father, my mother for loving me and pushing me. I’d like to thank my beautiful husband, my beautiful three chid, who are at home watching. I’d like to thank the queer community for your love and for inventing the genre. God bless you. Thank you so much to the Grammys.”

Check out Jay-Z’s performance with John Legend, Lil Wayne, Fridayy, DJ Khaled, as well as Rick Ross below. The group was just one of several noteworthy performances during the ceremony. LL Cool J also took the stage alongside over 30 other artists to celebrate the history of hip-hop.

Quavo Spotted Ahead Of Takeoff Tribute Performance

Quavo recently went through Beverly Hills on Friday afternoon, reportedly spotted publicly for the first time since Takeoff’s funeral. Moreover, paparazzi caught him just days before his upcoming tribute performance to his late nephew at the Grammys. Furthermore, the Atlanta rapper left a Prada store in a light blue sweater, black pants, and light yellow shoes. He’ll perform a rendition of his track “Without You,” which he penned in honor of his fallen Migos member. Also, he released a simple music video, contemplating and seemingly listening back to the track as lyrics pop up.

In addition, the Maverick City Music choir will assist the 31-year-old with his performance. After his memorial service, Quavo penned a tender and reflective message for his loved one. “This whole time I’ve been trying to figure what you really are to me because nephew wasn’t it,” he wrote on Instagram. “We hated that word ‘nephew’ or when they said ‘Unc and Phew’ cuz we always knew we were way closer than that and it made me feel old too. But I knew you weren’t my brother cuz you are my sister’s so, so I couldn’t say brother. Now I finally get it… you are OUR angel watching me and watching us this whole time in living form making sure EVERYONE FELT UR LOVE AND HUGS while u here and u made our dreams come true.”

Takeoff’s immediate circle continue to honor and speak of his loss and legacy. Cardi B recalled when she learned of his passing. “We was in bed… going to go to La La’s party in New York, and my daughter threw up all over my costume… We just fell asleep, and out of nowhere, Offset’s phone kept ringing, mine kept ringing.” Furthermore, she detailed how they felt disbelief, but also angry at the tragedy.

Meanwhile, other rappers and figures like 21 Savage spoke on the late Migo’s presence and the void he left behind. Even though things seem more dire than ever for the city of Atlanta, these artists’ impact and voice continue to uplift the city. As always, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest on Quavo, Takeoff, and keeping his spirit alive.
