Travis Scott Finally Releases Highly Sought After Playboi Carti Collab “Houdini”

Travis Scott is pulling off another impressive feat with his 2014 mixtape, DAYS BEFORE RODEO. La Flame is looking like he’s going to move around 217,000 copies of his 10-year-old project, outselling brand-new efforts from other artists. Just like in 2018 with ASTROWORLD, he’s trying to outpace another massive female artist in sales by dropping off tons of bundles. Last night, the Houston, Texas powerhouse dropped off five new editions. Three of them included two new “Vault” tracks apiece, with the other two being “Chopped N’ Screwed” and “Live From Atlanta” renditions.

“Vault 2” saw Travis Scott include “Hold On” with Quavo and Young Thug and “Respected”. For number three, fans were treated to “Naughty” and “Too Many Options with another Thugger appearance. Finally, “Vault 4” will probably go down as the most treasured of these three because it contains “Quintana Pt. 2 (Mike Dean Outro)” and “Houdini (WHOUDINI)” with Playboi Carti, according to NFR Podcast. If you want to get your hand on either one, especially the latter, you unfortunately cannot.

Fans Have Been Waiting For Travis Scott To Drop “Houdini”

They were available last night only for $4.99 each. However, “Houdini” is a track that’s been floating around the internet for years. A lot of Travis die-hards either have it on their Soundcloud or have a local file of some sort. Additionally, a fan account by the name of Sullyy is sharing the “Vault” tracks on his YouTube, which you can find above. When Scott announced the initial deluxe last week, he said the bonus cuts would be from the DBR era. However, these new bonus songs seem to be pulling from all over his career. “Houdini” was originally a hopeful inclusion for ASTROWORLD, making it a 2017-2018 recording. However, it never made the cut. Now, though, its officially out and fans are ecstatic.

Fan Reactions

What are your thoughts on Travis Scott finally releasing “Houdini” featuring Playboi Carti? Is this the most prized unreleased La Flame track in your eyes? Is this revitalization of DAYS BEFORE RODEO and its era one of the smartest things he’s ever done? Have you copped anything from the drop over the last week? Finally, should he drop any more tracks? Drake & Lil Yachty Get Approval To Drop “Supersoak,” But There’s A Catch

Drake and Lil Yachty’s leaked and Kai Cenat-premiered collaboration ” S.O.D. (Supersoak)” might just see the light of day… under one condition. The social media creator behind the sample used for the track, Mr. Hotspot, recently spoke on the sample clearance issues that Yachty revealed during a Flagrant podcast appearance, which is what led the Atlanta rapper and pop-psych-rock creative to leak the song in the first place. During a TikTok livestream, Hotspot revealed that he would be down to clear the sample if the duo made a clean and kid-friendly version of the track, as his religious views are what apparently made him refrain from clearing the sample originally.

“It’ll be good for both of their brands,” Mr. Hotspot said of this ultimatum for Lil Yachty and Drake’s latest team-up track, “Supersoak.” “I’m blessed to work with children so we just gotta make it clean for them. We don’t need no children getting whooped cause they said this or that, you understand? It’s the children who really running these views up. So if we make sure both verses clean everybody coming clean, everybody gonna benefit.”

Mr. Hotspot Will Clear Drake & Lil Yachty’s Collab Under One Condition

I sent a song to Kai to leak,” Lil Yachty had told Andrew Schulz and company on the Flagrant podcast concerning this Drake collab. “We couldn’t get the sample cleared, so I just let Kai play it.” “But it’s everywhere,” he added when speaking of how they might never be able to release it officially. Of course, this new condition opens that avenue up, but considering that Mr. Hotspot only recently sent them a clean version of the sample, it would most likely take a while to come out. “He went down, like, a Christian path,” Yachty said of Hotspot. “I don’t even think we got into money. He was just like, ‘No.’ It was crazy.”

Meanwhile, someone else with some issues with “Supersoak” is Soulja Boy, who thinks he caught some strays on the leaked version. “Drake, you up here talking about some S.O.D. super soak,” he ranted on social media. “Boy, stop playing wit me, boy. That better be a f***ing shout out, n***a. You better keep that s**t light, my boy. This your first and only warning.”

James Fauntleroy & No ID (The 80s) Revive “The Pursuit” 13 Years Later

James Fauntleroy and legendary producer No ID are giving fans what they want this summer. They are combining their talents on an EP, but not in the way that you think. This is not a brand-new release by any means. In fact, this tape that is out now is about 13 years old. It is called The Pursuit, and it is a production of the duo’s group known as The 80s or The Cocaine 80s. If you have not heard of this collective before, let us give you a little history lesson for some background.

James and No ID are just two of the artists responsible for bringing this idea to fruition back in the early 2010s. Chicago rap genius Common, as well as Los Angeles-bred singer Jhené Aiko, joined along for the ride. This quartet is known for the smooth and stunning R&B cuts with an alternative flare. What you are seeing in front of you is the first of four EPs, as The Pursuit began the string of EPs from 2011 to 2013. The last of them was The Flower Of Life and since then, we have not received any new music from this talented act. Hopefully, with The 80s bringing The Pursuit to streaming this weekend, maybe they will revive the other subsequent EPs. You can check out the long-awaited fan-favorite tape with the links below and relive the magic that was created all those years ago.

Kali Uchis Officially Releases The Long-Awaited Fan-Favorite “Never Be Yours”

Colombian American singer Kali Uchis fed fans good already, but she is back to show she is not done yet, dropping “Never Be Yours” earlier today. It feels like an eternity since she put out ORQUIDEAS back in January, so maybe that is why she is feeling extra generous this weekend. This song is big deal for her “Kuchis”, as “Never Be Yours” was a track on a 2012 project, Drunken Babble. Unfortunately, the song and album are not on any streaming services. However, that could all change very soon, at least that is the hope that is being held out from listeners.

While we will just have to wait on that, how does this track sound after 12 years? Well, if you take a listen to the separate versions below you will notice quite the difference. You can tell that the 2012 offering is rougher around the edges and not nearly as well produced as the 2024 take. It makes sense, though, as it was originally a demo. The structure of the song is very simple, as the verse is repeated twice, and the chorus is extremely catchy. It was a smart move on Kali’s part to give the fans this track, as it blew up back in the day (24 million views on YouTube). She was excited to get this one out, writing on her IG, “entering ♋︎ season feeling yummy & reclaiming some of my life’s work! NBY out now! 🥑 🍚 🥘🍜🍜🍜🍜🍜🍜🍜🍜🍜🍜🍜🍜
