Nicki Minaj said she wouldn’t wish her recent treatment at the Amsterdam airport on her worst enemy in a new interview addressing the incident. A week ago, the Queens rapper livestreamed as she was detained at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam for possession of marijuana. After the weed was discovered, airport authorities searched all of her luggage and questioned her, causing the postponement of her upcoming show in Manchester, England.
Although she previously released a statement thanking fans for their support, Nicki went more in-depth during a livestream on Stationhead, saying, “Not being able to get to Manchester, I don’t know when was the last time I felt that low. Not only that, but knowing that something is being done to you on purpose simply because you are a confident other race.”
She continued, “There was one lady there — all the rest were men — and I could tell she had a heart. The treatment was just disgusting, and I wouldn’t wish that on anyone.”

Nicki Minaj has been on a roll lately. She broke the record for the highest grossing tour by a female rapper, and her latest album, contained her first solo number one single. The positive vibes have been carried over by Minaj, who has welcomed multiple guests during her shows. She reunited with Drake at the Toronto show, and gave the fellow Young Money artist his flowers in early May. Minaj decided to kick things up a notch during her London show, however. She brought the King of Dancehall, Beenie Man, out to perform.
The rapper welcomed Beenie Man with all the reverence one would expect. All she asked for upon his entrance was a hug, and then she proceeded to bow down before Beenie Man and the rest of the crowd. Beenie Man quickly repaid the compliment, noting that Minaj is the queen of hip-hop if he is the king of dancehall. The two artists then helped Minaj and Beenie Man sing along to the classic Beenie Man track “I’m Drinking / Rum & Redbull.” Nicki Minaj is known for being one of the most outspoken and boisterous artists in the genre, so her deference was notable. The rapper even posted about the onstage collab via X (formerly Twitter).
“I just performed with the KING OF DANCEHALL,” Minaj tweeted. “One of the most talented musicians that I looked to for inspiration my entire career. I can’t believe this is my life sometimes. Wow. One of my heroes. I love this man so much. @KingBeenieMan.” The rapper may be New York raised, but she was born in Trinidad, and has made a point of incorporating dancehall influences into her music. She made this evident on the Pink Friday 2 cut “Forward from Trini,” which featured appearances from artists like Skillibeng and Skeng.
Nicki Minaj even got on Stationhead to tell fans that didn’t like her dancehall cuts to get with it. “Y’all, some of them don’t like it, but it’s okay,” she noted. “They’re gonna have to get with it… I’m sorry if y’all can’t understand this kind of music.” Minaj isn’t the first Young Money artist to link up with Beenie Man, either. Drake featured the legendary artists on his blockbuster 2016 album Views. Beenie didn’t have an actual verse on a song, but he provided the outro on “Controlla.”
Nicki Minaj is heading back on the road: This fall, the “FTCU” rapper will embark on a second North American leg of her buzzy Pink Friday 2 Tour.
The new North American leg will take place over the course of five weeks, kicking off in Philadelphia and wrapping in Minaj‘s hometown of Queens, New York.
The official presale for the second leg begins today at 2 p.m. ET, and fans can register and purchase tickets via Ticketmaster.

Rapper Nicki Minaj should have trended for her concert at Co-op Live in Machester, England, on Saturday, May 25, 2024, as part of her Pink Friday 2 World Tour. However, she trended for the wrong reasons after reports revealed that she had been arrested in the Netherlands capital, Amsterdam. Nicki Minaj was arrested for allegedly possessing drugs. The rapper posted a video on social media showing an Amsterdam police officer explaining the reason for her arrest.
Nicki’s video sparked concern among her fans on social media. Also, fans in Manchester who were getting set for her concert that night were worried the show wouldn’t hold. Those fans’ worst fears were confirmed later after the show’s cancellation. Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj was eventually released after posting bail. She apologized to her fans in Manchester for the show’s cancellation and bemoaned her Amsterdam ordeal. Here’s all we know about Nicki Minaj’s arrest in Amsterdam.
On May 25, Nicki Minaj took to X to share updates about her detention in Amsterdam. She posted a video showing her conversation with a staff member at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport. The airport staff told Nicki that police ordered her luggage to be searched. The information didn’t please Nicki, who wondered why they didn’t search it earlier. In another tweet, Nicki claimed the Amsterdam authorities had been doing everything possible to stop her tour.
One of Nicki’s fans suggested that the airport authorities waited until the last minute to search her luggage because they knew it would inconvenience her. She replied to the fan’s post, “They took my luggage & when I asked where it is they said it’s on the plane. It couldn’t have been, I just pulled up.” Nicki also shared that she never gave the airport staff her bags, adding that they were refusing to let her see her bags. In another X post, The BET Awards 2024 Best Female Hip-Hop Artist nominee wrote, “They’re being paid big money to try to sabotage my tour b/c soooooo many ppl are mad that it’s this successful & they can’t eat off me. They got caught stealing money from my travel/jets. Got fired. Got mad. Etc.”
Nicki Minaj’s Claims
Nicki Minaj’s fans became worried as she continued to update them about her ordeal in Amsterdam. The rapper was also infuriated, as evidenced by the tone of her posts. Nicki tweeted, “This is how they plant things in your luggage,” before adding, “I’m on the jet alone.” In her next post, Nicki shed more light on what she felt caused her ordeal. She claimed that the airport authorities always try to make her book another jet. She wrote, “All b/c I fired mngmnt who I found out for years were adding on 30-50K on my jet & pocketing it. I fired a tour mngr recently who was doing the same thing & mad he got the boot. Their goal is to make me late, & to pocket 40K.”
Nicki continued posting more updates. She claimed the airport authorities were trying to keep her from Manchester. The “Super Bass” crooner revealed that her luggage was taken without her consent. She also reposted her fans’ tweets as they commented on the matter.
Nicki Minaj Reveals Amsterdam Authorities Found Weed in Her Luggage
After a while, Nicki Minaj expressed more frustration. She revealed the airport authorities accused her of carrying marijuana. Nicki wrote, “ now they said they found weed & that another group of ppl have to come here to weigh the pre-rolls. Keep in mind they took my bags without consent. My security has already advised them those pre-rolls belong to him. Oh yea & the pilot wants me to take my ig post down.” In another post, Nicki, who previously suggested that it was ironic for her to be detained for marijuana possession despite it being legal in the Netherlands, said her arrest was a ploy to make her late for her tour and write negative stories about her.
Nicki made more posts and reposts about her situation. She continued to emphasize her belief that the airport authorities delayed her intentionally. However, she noted, “They didn’t know I was planning for them just like they were planning for me. Me filming every single thing made them really mad.” Later, the award-winning rapper revealed she was asked to write a statement. She wrote, “Now they said I have to go 5 mins aways to make a statement about my security to the police [precinct].” Meanwhile, Robert Van Kapel, a Netherlands military police spokesperson, confirmed Nicki Minaj’s arrest. In a statement, Robert said a 41-year-old American woman was arrested for exporting “soft drugs.” However, Robert didn’t identify the woman or detail the type of drug found in her possession.
Nicki Minaj calmed her worried fans’ fears hours later following her release. The Dutch police confirmed Nicki’s release in a statement. They said, “After consultation with the Public Prosecution Service, the suspect was fined and can continue her journey.” Reports later revealed that Nicki Minaj was fined €350 (about $380).
In an emotional post, Nicki thanked everyone who prayed for her amid her ordeal in Amsterdam. She revealed she was at the Stock Exchange Hotel in Manchester. Nicki also claimed that she spent “5-6 hours” sitting in a jail cell. She narrated her flight experience before taking the time to appreciate Co-op Live for trying to delay the concert start time as much as possible. She wrote, “That’s why they had to do the big song & dance b/c they knew I’d still find a way to perform even if it came down to my last 90 mins in the building which would have been until 1130pm. The building was willing to go past 11pm. So grateful to them for that.”
Nicki shared that despite not hitting the stage for her concert, she got to the root of the matter in Amsterdam. She revealed that she had so much video evidence and would let her lawyers and God take charge. Afterward, Nicki apologized to her fans. She wrote, “Please please please accept my deepest & most sincere apologies. They sure did know exactly how to hurt me today but this too, shall pass. They’ve been doing this over & over & over again & I’ve tried so hard to not discuss it b/c you guys deserve to just get the good stuff. I hate involving you in anything that isn’t for entertainment purposes only.”
Nicki Postpones Manchester Concert
A sad fallout from Nicki Minaj’s arrest in Amsterdam was the postponement of her scheduled Manchester concert. She told her fans there would be a new date for the show, with the options being June or July. Nicki promised, “I’ll find a way to not only make up the date with the performance but I’m going to create an added bonus for everyone that had a tkt for this show.”
Co-op Live and the show’s promoter also confirmed the concert’s cancellation via a statement on X. The statement read, “Nicki Minaj’s performance at Manchester’s Co-op Live on Saturday 25th May has been postponed. Tickets will remain valid for the rescheduled performance which will be announced ASAP.” The statement revealed that Nicki explored all avenues to make the show happen, but her efforts were ultimately futile. The statement concluded, “We are deeply disappointed by the inconvenience this has caused. More information will be available at your point of purchase.”
Nicki Minaj Posts New Date for Postponed Manchester Concert
However, despite postponing her Manchester concert, Nicki confirmed she would still perform in Birmingham on May 26 and honor her second Manchester show on May 30. On Monday, May 27, Nicki responded to a fan who wanted an update on the new date for her postponed Manchester concert. She wrote, “Yes, they’d like for me to do JULY 10th. They’ll send you guys official word. What do you think about that date?”
Some hours later, she posted another update. Nicki wrote, “OK guys, I was JUST RE-ADVISED that we actually CAN NOT do any other date for the make up #gagcityMANCHESTER date besides JUNE 3rd. So JUNE 3rd is the new official date for all ticket holders who originally had tickets to the MAY 25th #Manchester show.” The rapper added, “I apologize for all the inconvenience this has caused. I really hope you can make the #JUNE3rd show. It’ll be really special. Ticketmaster will contact you to advise officially. #GAGCITY Love you.”
Nicki Minaj Continues Offensive Against Amsterdam Authorities
Despite overcoming her Amsterdam troubles, Nicki Minaj still had much to say to the Amsterdam authorities. She began by reposting 2021 news articles about R&B singer Ari Lennox’s travails in the Dutch capital. One of the news reports said the Dutch police arrested Ari for being “full of emotions” and “wouldn’t calm down,” while another said she was arrested after tweeting that she was racially profiled by airline staff.
Nicki also reposted a fan’s tweet in which they advised black artists to avoid touring Amsterdam. The rapper then commented on one of the news reports about Ari. Nicki wrote, “She was “full of emotions”. She was arrested b/c she was full of emotions in AmsterDAM. Hmmmmm interesting. I didn’t know this was a “thing” there. Who spoke up for her? Could’ve easily been another Sandra Bland incident. I’m so happy she made it out alive & well.”
So far, there hasn’t been any more word from the Dutch police about Nicki Minaj’s arrest. Nicki is obviously still pissed about her ordeal and seems ready to go all the way in getting back at her perceived detractors. We can only wait to see how the situation eventually pans out. For now, Nicki remains committed to giving her Manchester fans a concert to remember on June 3.
Whelp things are staying interesting on Nicki Minaj’s tour in Europe these as of late.
The “Moment for Life” rapper threatened to fire her tour DJ, DJ Boof, after he posted a photo signing a fan’s breasts during the Pink Friday 2 World Tour.
Here’s the image, threat, post … all of that.
DJ Boof captioned the photo, “I’m really famous,” with a crying laughing emoji.
He added, “They asked me to sign their boobs.” In response, Minaj wrote on X, “I promise I’ll fire him if I EVAHHHHH see this again. Df.”
Sigh … The latest incident follows Minaj’s legal troubles in Europe where ICYMI, while in Amsterdam, was detained for allegedly carrying drugs, forcing her to postpone her Manchester show.
Minaj plans to take legal action against Dutch police, having been detained for “5-6 hours.”
She tweeted, “So they succeeded at their plan to not let me get on that stage tonight. I succeeded @ getting to the root of it all by recording them & posting everything in real time.
“I have sooooooooo much video evidence. You wouldn’t believe it if I told you. I’ll have the lawyers & GOD take it from here tho.” Minaj was fined 350 euros after her release.
Drake sightings are big deals these days. The rapper is still reeling from his loss in the Kendrick Lamar battle. The residual effect of the battle is evident in his music, as his last three singles have been flooded with dislikes on YouTube. Nevertheless, the bond between the 6 God and 21 Savage remains strong. The latter performed in Toronto on May 27, and he made good on the underlying hopes of every Her Loss fan by bringing Drake onstage to perform a couple of their joint hits.
Footage from the concert was posted on Instagram by DJ Akademiks. Drake and 21 Savage can be seen hyping up the crowd before jumping into a rendition of their number one single, “Rich Flex.” Drake might have lost the battle to Kendrick, but he still managed to rally the crowd and get them to sing along to the iconic opening lines of the song. The chemistry between Drake and Savage is strong as ever. The latter has actually been one of Drake’s few supporters throughout the 2024 rap wars.
On May 12, the rapper hopped on Instagram Live to discuss the tension between Drizzy and Metro Boomin. As far as he was concerned, the two artists were going to eventually set their differences aside. “Don’t keep coming on my motherf*cin’ Live talkin’ about no motherf*ckin’ beef,” he told viewers. “Metro my brother and Drake my brother. They gonna figure that sh*t out eventually.”
This measured response took a turn on May 26, though. 21 Savage kicked Metro Boomin off his IG Live after the producer called him “OVO Savage” in the comments. 21 Savage then clapped back at Metro by quoting Drake’s now iconic “Push Ups” line: “Metro shut your h*e a*s up and make some drums n**ga.” He also got in a few digs of his own. “Oh, you was talking sh*t, b*tch,” he added. “Get off my Live. I’m finna block this n**ga.”
This is not the first time Drake has surprised fans at a 2024 show. On May 1, the 6 God popped up at Nicki Minaj’s Toronto concert to perform their latest single together, “Needle.” He showed Nicki love before telling the crowd that they he had to get back to work aka battling with K. Dot.
Minaj was released later that night, as reported by various reputable outlets, after “sitting in a jail cell for five-to-six hours,” according to Minaj. The debacle forced Minaj to postpone her scheduled May 25 Pink Friday 2 World Tour concert in Manchester, England. (Minaj also had a pre-existing May 30 Manchester show on her tour.)
“OK guys, I was JUST RE-ADVISED that we actually CAN NOT do any other date for the make up #gagcityMANCHESTER date besides JUNE 3rd,” Minaj wrote on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, May 27. “So JUNE 3rd is the new official date for all ticket holders who originally had tickets to the MAY 25th #Manchester show. I apologize for all the inconvenience this has caused. I really hope you can make the #JUNE3rd show. It’ll be really special. Ticketmaster will contact you to advise officially. #GAGCITY Love you.”

Minaj was able to perform as scheduled in Birmingham, England, on Sunday, May 26, and she will hit up London’s famed The O2 on May 28, Glasgow on May 29, Manchester on May 30, Paris on June 1, and Amsterdam on June 2, before looping back to make up her May 25 Manchester date on June 3.

Nicki Minaj has expressed gratitude to her fans for their understanding and support after her concert in Manchester had to be rescheduled due to her arrest in the Netherlands. The Queens rapper and singer was detained at Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport on Saturday for allegedly attempting to transport “soft drugs” out of the country.
Minaj spent around six hours in custody before being released and fined, allowing her to continue her journey to the UK. Despite her efforts to make it in time, her concert at the Co-op Live arena was postponed. Fans had already been admitted into the venue by 7 pm, but the announcement of the postponement came around 9:40 pm from promoter Live Nation.
Dutch police confirmed the arrest and subsequent release of a 41-year-old woman who paid a fine before being allowed to leave. The incident caused significant delays and disruptions, but Minaj’s fans, known as Barbz, have shown remarkable patience and support.
In a post on X (formerly known as Twitter), Minaj praised her fans, writing, “Manchester I appreciate you. Class act. Give me until (tomorrow) for the update on our new date (please). It will be sometime in June or July like I mentioned last night.” She also promised an “added surprise bonus” for fans and expressed excitement about her upcoming performance in Manchester, already scheduled for Thursday at Co-op Live.
Minaj reassured her followers that the Birmingham concert at Resorts World Arena on Sunday would be a “magical beautiful happy fun unforgettable night.” She even invited her fans to her hotel in the center of Manchester, where she personally interacted with the crowd. One fan, Alvin Christie from Liverpool, praised Minaj’s efforts and criticized the venue’s management. Christie stated, “I would say it was very poorly managed. When we arrived at the event, they were actively telling fans that she had arrived and that everyone was going to dance tonight.”
Minaj arrived at her Manchester hotel early on Sunday after enduring a long flight delay from Amsterdam and time in a cell. She noted on X that the venue was “willing to go past 11 pm,” but blamed unnamed individuals for the disruption, claiming they had “succeeded at their plan to not let me get on that stage tonight.”
Live Nation issued a statement on Saturday, saying, “Despite Nicki’s best efforts to explore every possible avenue to make tonight’s show happen, the events of today have made it impossible. We are deeply disappointed by the inconvenience this has caused.”
This incident adds to the series of issues plaguing Co-op Live since its attempted opening in April. The venue has faced multiple postponements and rescheduling of its first official gigs. US rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie even moved his performance to the AO Arena due to the delays, and Co-op Live only began live music shows on May 14 with British rock band Elbow.
Minaj, known for her hits like “Starships,” “Super Bass,” and “Anaconda,” livestreamed her arrest and maintained that the drugs found in her luggage were not hers. Despite these setbacks, her fans have shown unwavering support, and Minaj looks forward to delivering unforgettable performances in the near future.
#Manchester I appreciate you. Class act. Give me until tmrw for the update on our new date plz. It will be sometime in June or July like I mentioned last night. #GagCityManchester and like I also mentioned, I’ll be doing an added surprise bonus for you guys as well.
