‘Real Husbands of Hollywood’ Showrunner Praises Writers For Bringing the Funny in New Season

First Look: 'Real Husbands of Hollywood: - More Kevin, More Problems' Set for Feb. 2022

The Real Husbands of Hollywood returns to BET+ after a nearly 6-year hiatus since the premiere of its fifth season. The original cast Kevin Hart, Boris Kodjoe, Duane Martin, JB Smoove, Nelly, Nick Cannon, Robin Thicke, and more, reunite for a six-part limited series.

This season, similar to the past, is filled with celebrity guest appearances that have no issue stepping into the comedic landscape to serve the audience.

“I think Duane said it best,” says Boris Kodjoe. “We never said goodbye.”

Wayne Stamps, the series’ showrunner for season 6, says the timing of the revival could not have come at a better time.

“I just feel like now is the perfect time because people just need to laugh…. to relieve pressure and stress. There’s no show better that’s doing that than this.”

This season, similar to the past, is filled with celebrity guest appearances that have no issue stepping into the comedic landscape to serve the audience.

This revival is titled: ‘The Real Husbands of Hollywood – More Kevin, More Problem.

“The impetus for this season started with our conversation with Kevin. We asked him, ‘how are you doing all of this with so much going on in your life’” says Stamps. “Kevin does a great job of exaggerating his life on screen as well, which is a big help.”

Stamp credits the writing staff for building each episode with a comedic cliff-hanging sequence as “each episode gets more funny.”

Hart, who hilariously teased the show nearly a decade ago while hosting the 2012 BET Awards, is more booked and busy than ever. Hart is cloned to physically fulfill his personal and professional commitments with a jam-packed schedule.

What may have seemed like a good idea takes an unexpected turn that Kevin and the guys do their best to get control of? The guys are pulled into Kevin’s cloned chaos but have a dramady of their own.

“The best thing about this show is we all get made fun of equally,” says Robin Thicke.

Nick Cannon Has Some Deep Thoughts On Why Monogamy Is Unhealthy

It’s fairly incredible how open Nick Cannon is about his sex life. The father of seven children with four different women has an eighth on the way with a fifth. He’s been speaking publicly with family therapist Dr. Laura Berman, both on The Nick Cannon show and recently on her podcast called The Language of Love With Dr. Laura Berman. In a “Valentine’s Day episode” that aired yesterday, Cannon opened up about his previous stance of celibacy, which led into him speaking about monogamy and how he doesn’t think it’s “healthy” for him.

The Masked Singer and Wild N’ Out star began talking about definitions of being single versus being married. “To define me is to confine me,” he says. They talk about forming covenants, whether bound by the government or not, at which point Cannon says “And I just don’t feel like that’s healthy. Monogamy is not healthy. I feel like that gets into the space of selfishness and ownership.” Berman validates him, before Cannon admits that he feels like his trajectory in life is to “be the best father I can be,” and as he gets older, “whoever is willing to put up with me” is who he’ll end up with and maybe be monogamous with.

Berman posits that perhaps his fear of being left or discarded is contributing to his fear of monogamy. And it’s really fascinating for someone who is so virile and is such a well-known public figure like Cannon, to make themselves this much of an open book when it comes to their sex therapy.

Nick Cannon Believes Monogamy is Unhealthy

Nick Cannon

Nick Cannon, father of eight, recently opened up regarding his outlook on relationships in a recent interview with Dr. Lura Berman on her podcast, “The Language of Love.”

During the sit-down, Cannon stated his point of view on an individual’s relationship status. “Married is not single,” he started “When you allow the government and paperwork to come in and say, ‘This is a bond, this is a covenant’ … you’re not single.”

“You can still make covenants without getting the government involved, where two people say, ‘We choose to be monogamous because we value this so much, we don’t want anyone to be a part of this energy we have,’ and I don’t feel like that’s healthy,” he continued.

“I don’t think monogamy is healthy. I feel like that gets into the space of selfishness and ownership.” Nick, who recently welcomed his eighth child, shared that none of the mothers of his children are willing to be in a monogamous relationship, preferring a standard monogamous relationship instead.

When Cannon was asked if all of his children were planned, the Wild N Out host said, “I’m going to take full responsibility. Any woman that I know that I have unprotected sex with, there’s the potential to have a child.”

“So I feel like if I have unprotected sex with anyone I know—because one, I value everything about me so much, if I’ve gotten to that point where I say, ‘I can take off this condom,’ I’m gonna say, ‘She could be the mother of my child,’” he added.

“Every woman that I have a child with, there is definitely a conversation about, ‘Wow, how amazing would this be?’ I feel like every woman I have a child with are amazing mothers, and there was a thought process going into like, ‘Man, she would be an amazing mother, she’s desired children, I can’t wait to see what type of mother she would be.’”

Many are rushing to social media to call the 41 year old toxic, others are hooked on Cannon’s new single “Alone,” an ode to Mariah Carey where he confesses his feelings about his now divorced wife.

Nick Cannon Has So Many Kids That Kevin Hart Sent Him A Condom Vending Machine For Valentine’s Day

Nick Cannon has seven kids with four women, spawning the meme among fans that he’s notoriously prolific. For instance, when Cannon responded to Saweetie’s tweet about wanting kids with a raised hand emoji, commenters lit up Twitter with jokes about keeping him away from her. While he insisted the tweet was innocent fun, it looks like no one is taking chances. Now, one of Cannon’s fellow multi-hyphenate standup veterans is also stepping up to help slow down the hip-hop Genghis Khan.

Kevin Hart, who previously trolled Cannon with a billboard sharing his phone number while offering his services as a fatherhood advisor, sent Nick a Valentine’s Day gift to help him keep his child support payments under control: a vending machine loaded with condoms. Cannon posted a photo of the gift to Instagram, although he didn’t initially reveal who sent it to him. “Looks like somebody just sent me an early Valentine’s Day gift!!” he wrote. “Vending Machine full of Magnums!”

Of course, Hart wanted to make sure everyone knew who was responsible, so he reposted Cannon’s pic with his own caption. “I see u got my gift @nickcannon,” he gloated. “GOTCHA BITCH!!!!!! ….Now u don’t have an excuse because the condoms are free.”

It looks like the next move in the duo’s ongoing prank war belongs to Nick, but he’ll have to work hard to top this.
