John Metchie III was all smiles this past Tuesday and for good reason. The Houston Texans receiver was finally able to return to the field after a battle with leukemia. The diagnosis sidelined Metchie for his entire rookie season with the Texans. Now Metchie is just thankful to be on the field with his teammates. Metchie was diagnosed with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia mere months after being selected in the 2022 NFL Draft.

News like that is heartbreaking for anyone to hear. Especially a young man on the verge of living out his dreams. However, Metchie won his battle with leukemia and is getting another chance to make his professional dreams come true. Metchie was a star at Alabama before becoming a member of the Texans. Recently, Alabama has been a star receiver factory. As the program has sent one star after another to the NFL. Including Heisman winner Devonta Smith who was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles.

Metchie’s numbers at Alabama are a big reason the star receiver went in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft. In his final year with the Crimson Tide, Metchie recorded 8 touchdown receptions while racking up over 1,100 yards receiving. The Texans will be glad to see Metchie return to the field. Houston is in the middle of rebuilding their franchise. Many believe the team will add a quarterback during this year’s NFL Draft. However, the Texans have yet to reveal their draft plans. Although the team has plenty of holes that will need to be filled before the start of the 2023 season.

Aaron Rodgers Officially Traded To New York Jets

Aaron Rodgers’ move to the New York Jets has been inevitable. However, it seemed as if the Jets and Green Bay Packers had a hold-up on delivering the veteran QB to the Big Apple. But that is no longer the case. On Monday afternoon, the trade for Rodgers was made official. According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Packers are bringing in a haul of draft picks for Rodgers’ services.

In the trade, the Packers are receiving, Pick No. 13, a 2023 2nd-rd pick (No. 42), a 6th-rd pick (No. 207), and a conditional 2024 2nd-rd pick that becomes a 1st if Rodgers plays 65 percent of the plays. While the Jets will receive Rodgers, pick No. 15, and a 2023 5th-rd pick. While the Packers got a lot of draft value. The Jets will still get a 1st round pick in this year’s draft. Many have assumed that draft capital was the main hold-up in the deal. However, many also felt the deal would get done no matter what.

The poor network can’t seem to escape Curtis Jackson’s wrath, does it? This time around, 50 Cent blasted Starz for passing on an NFL Powerbroker series on league agent Nicole Lynn. For those unaware, the 34-year-old recently had the biggest moment of her career so far, nabbing her client Jalen Hurts (quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles), the biggest annual average deal in NFL history at $255 million. Moreover, 50 took to Instagram to claim that the network originally funded the show’s development, but then backtracked. With that in mind, he loaded up some more Instagram shots.

“Nicole Lynn is no joke i told STARZ, they didn’t listen,” 50 Cent wrote in his IG post. “They paid for development then had a change of heart. Now you know i’m gonna sell this show in no time. GLG GreenLightGang bullseye i don’t miss.” Before leaving Starz in September of 2022, the “P.I.M.P.” MC ran various hit shows like “Power” and “BMF.” However, this February, he signed a deal with Fox for future on-screen project in partnership with his G-Unit Film & Television production company.

Mark Davis made the big move for his Raiders franchise. The Raiders moved from Oakland to Las Vegas and has turned out to be a great move for the franchise. However, Davis is of the belief that the Athletics have handled the relocation poorly. According to Davis, the Athletics weren’t the best business partners when the Raiders shared a stadium with the team. According to Davis’ comments to TMZ, the Raiders owner still holds hate for the organization. “They marketed the team as ‘Rooted in Oakland,’ that’s been their mantra through the whole thing,” Davis said. “The slogans they’ve been using have been a slap to the face of the Raiders, and they were trying to win over that type of mentality in the Bay Area. Well, all they did was f*** the Bay Area.”
