Drake Reveals His Rihanna Collaboration, “Too Good,” Is About Serena Williams

Drake has confirmed that his 2016 collaboration with Rihanna, “Too Good,” was inspired by Serena Williams. The news comes from a behind-the-scenes video of the Toronto rapper explaining the song to his mother that was included in his release of 100 gigabytes of material on Tuesday. He originally dropped “Too Good” on the tracklist to his album, Views.

“It’s funny because when I make songs about women, I also make songs for them. So, I know what kind of song to make. If I’m gonna talk about them, I’ll at least do them the justice of making them a song that they’ll like,” Drake says in the video. “I know Serena very well and I know that she’ll hear it loud and clear but not hate me for it because it’s lighthearted.” His mom doesn’t seem surprised to learn the song takes inspiration from Williams.

Hip-Hop Mourns The Tragic Passing Of M.O.P Affiliate, Foxx

Foxx, M.O.P.’s former tour manager and former member of the rap group Lethal, died on August 3 after a 15-year battle with scleroderma, an autoimmune disease. The Bronx native’s respirator was removed from her on August 2 in the hospital. She was 55. DJ Kid Capri, a childhood friend of Foxx’s, broke the news on Instagram in a heartfelt post, paying tribute and detailing the story of the last time he saw her in the hospital.

The hip-hop community best knows Foxx as the “mother figure” of the Brownsville-based duo M.O.P. She played an integral part in the duo’s successful run in the late 1990s and early 2000s. “M.O.P. wouldn’t get nowhere if it wasn’t for me. I’m like their Mother Goose,” said Foxx in a previous interview. “They don’t got no mothers, no fathers, none of that sh*t. I can put them in check, and I’m probably the only one that can do that, partly because I’m older than them.” Of course, the hip-hop community paid tribute following Capri’s announcement.

DJ Premier also shared a tribute to Foxx, accompanied by a video from 1998 of her rapping on a tour bus while she was traveling with Gang Starr. “I’m hurt in more ways than one, but your pain is gone now,” he said. “Even tho I saw you in the hospital Tuesday, it sucks to get that call. We all are gonna miss you so much but the fun times are documented in our souls. You were HardCore and Sweet at the same time. Would f*ck up anybody that fronted on us or you. My beautiful Foxx Beige sleep peacefully Queen.” Fat Joe referred to her as “family,” while The Alchemist expressed his condolences as well, calling her “the illest.”

Foxx’s death is the latest in what has been a sad last few weeks for hip-hop. Chino XL, long considered one of the most underrated rappers of his era, unexpectedly died on July 28. DJ Polo, the former Juice Crew member best known for his career-defining work with Kool G Rap, passed away the day before. The hip-hop world continues to mourn the passing of its legends. We would like to extend our condolences as well.

Donald Trump Showers Adin Ross In Praise Following Viral Stream

Overall, Donald Trump is one of the biggest political figures in the world. However, he is also extremely polarizing. The former president is the Republican nominee for the third straight election. Although it was a pretty easy path for him to get there, some Republicans still staunchly oppose him. By that, we mean they oppose his messaging, but not his policies. Regardless, Trump wants to win the election and he has been going after the youth vote.

Part of that has been collaborating with people like Adin Ross. Recently, Trump got to join Ross on a stream that got millions of views. All sorts of Kick records were broken, however, the stream still could not touch some of the numbers we saw from Kai Cenat and even Ninja. Having said all of that, Trump was more than grateful for the opportunity to stream with Ross. On Truth Social, the former President had nothing but praise for the young streamer.

Adin Ross & Donald Trump Continue To Cause A Stir

In his message to Ross, he noted that he met the streamer’s family. Furthermore, he proclaimed that he had heard of Ross because of his son Barron. As it turns out, the youngest Trump child is a huge fan of the Kick superstar. This should not come as too much of a surprise. Regardless, it does remain to be seen whether or not any of this matters as far as the election is concerned. For now, this is all just one big show.

Let us know what you think about the situation involving Donald Trump and Adin Ross, in the comments section down below. Do you believe that it was smart for Trump to do a stream with Ross? Do you believe this will shift the election at all? Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the world. We will continue to keep you informed on all of your favorite personalities and their upcoming projects.

Drake Reveals Inspiration Behind “Hotline Bling” But Fans Had Someone Else In Mind

Over the last 12 hours or so, Drake has stirred up a lot of conversation. Late last night, the Canadian rapper put “100gigs for your headtop”, a massive folder of old files, as well as three new tracks. “It’s Up”, “Blue Green Red”, and “Houskeeping Knows” are the titles, and they include features from 21 Savage, Young Thug, and even Latto. As far as the past folders go, they include alternate covers for past projects, studio clips, and more. Overall, the internet has been mixed on this as you would come to expect with Drake at this point. Currently, one of the “archaic” documents that is causing some debate is a video of The Boy explaining how “Hotline Bling” came to be.

“We used to be in bed together — we just finished f***ing and her phone would be blowing up,” Drake began. “So, I saved her name in my phone as ‘Hotline Bling.’ That’s always been her name on my phone”. He also joked that it was such a good name that he felt it could have been his new stage moniker. “And I was looking at it today, I was like, ‘Hotline Bling’ is a sick name. That should be an artist name”. Additionally, he even talked to the still unknown fling about her nickname being used as the title for now one of his biggest songs. “Yo your name, your nickname is such a good title for something.’ And then I just told her today, I was like, you know I did a song called ‘Hotline Bling,’ thats crazy”.

Fans Want Drake To Give DRAM His Due For “Hotline Bling”

However, some people are thinking that someone else should be credited for the song. Back in 2015, DRAM put out “Cha Cha”, a track that was released a few months prior to “Hotline Bling”. The track would go on to be his breakout record and he felt there was some obvious similarities; so much so, that he felt Drake “jacked” it. DRAM made his feelings known that same year in an interview with Billboard. He moved on, but some fans still aren’t letting Drizzy off the hook. “DRAM was the “inspiration”, one user on X writes. “Drake stay lying”, another adds. Others were defending Drake, saying that the songs didn’t sound remotely close.

What are your thoughts on Drake’s inspiration for “Hotline Bling”? Do you think DRAM needs credit for this song’s creation, why or why not? Where do you rank this song in terms of Drizzy’s biggest hits? How do you feel about him releasing all of these files the night prior? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Drake and DRAM. Finally, stay with us for everything else going on in the music world.

Kehlani’s Baby Daddy Denies Sex Cult Claims And Demands A Retraction From TMZ

Javaughn Young-White, the father of Kehlani’s daughter, has demanded a retraction from TMZ after the outlet reported that he accused the singer of being in a sex cult while seeking full custody of their daughter. Instead, Young-White says his legal filing was still incomplete and he has since hired new counsel to assist him in the case.

“I never said that I think Santeria is a sex cult. Nor did I say that my daughter is in a sex cult,” he began in a statement on Instagram. “That’s factually incorrect and I think it’s disgusting that TMZ would exploit a child’s image like that. Further, I have not been made aware of any court ordered mediation as of writing this per the account of TMZ. Personally, I would love for TMZ to justify to me, the father, how they came up with this narrative. The TMZ article sensationalized aspects of what was said while simultaneously breaching my confidentiality. Further, the filing of my case was incomplete and did not have my authorization by error of counsel. I am no longer represented by the aforementioned counsel. There will be an amended filing soon which will illustrate the full range of my concern.”

Kehlani also addressed the wild accusations in a statement on Instagram. “What has been published in the media over the past 24 hours is incredibly hurtful, inaccurate, inappropriate, and simply untrue,” they wrote. “I strongly deny any claims that I have put my child in harm’s way, or left my child alone with anyone deemed dangerous or unsafe. I also do not align with any of the allegations made against my former religious community that have been stated in the media.” Check out Young-White’s full statement below.

Latto Introduces Fan Hotline To Promote Her Upcoming Album

Latto is getting ready to release her third album, Sugar Honey Iced Tea, on August 9. To help promote the album, she started a hotline for her fans to call. When fans call the number, they are greeted by three voices, all of whom are presumed to be features on the album, though fans are not entirely sure of who’s who yet. They all say the album’s title. After, Latto gives a message herself, thanking her fans for their continued support of her music.

This is not the first time a rapper has done something like this to help promote their music. In 2005, Mike Jones mentioned his real phone number on the hit song “Back Then,” which reportedly received 40,000 calls per day at its peak. In 2008, Soulja Boy’s track “Kiss Me Thru The Phone” directed fans to 678-999-8212, which was a fan hotline that Soulja has since claimed netted him over $100k per month for a period. Fans are praising Latto for setting up a hotline of her own, with some pointing to the move feeling like something from a previous era.

Latto Sets Up Hotline To Promote Her Latest Album

“The marketing rollout for this is so good, so damn good,” said one Instagram user in response to the hotline. “Cute marketing! At least she doing her own thing and not copying a virtual city. That would’ve had yall real upset lol,” said another user, referencing the rollout for Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday 2. “Soulja boy about to comment and say he was the first to do this lol,” said a third, referencing the phone number from “Kiss Me Thru The Phone.”

Latto’s been having a successful run as of late. She collaborated with K-pop star Jungkook on “Seven,” which earned her the first #1 song of her career. She’s been in a minor feud with Ice Spice, which inspired the track “Sunday Service,” a fan favorite. Megan Thee Stallion and Flo Milli appeared on a remix of the track in June. On Tuesday evening, Drake released 100 gigabytes of previously unseen content. This included three new songs, one of which featured a verse from her. Sugar Honey Iced Tea should hopefully add to her success, and the marketing strategies seem to be helping.
