Drake Pops Out For “Supersoak” Music Video In New Preview From DJ Akademiks

Well, it looks like DJ Akademiks was quickly able to prove his claim that Drake has a music video coming very soon. Moreover, he recently shared a short preview of the visuals for the unreleased (and leaked) Lil Yachty collab “Supersoak” music video on his livestream. The clip doesn’t really show much, just the 6ix God rocking his braids and vibing out to the track with a friend. Either way, it gives OVO and Concrete fans hope that the duo will officially drop this collaboration on streaming services after Yachty spoke of leaking it to Kai Cenat because they couldn’t get the sample cleared.

“It’ll be good for both of their brands,” Mr. Hotspot, the artist that Drake and Lil Yachty sampled for this cut, explained concerning his ultimatum that he’ll clear the sample if they make a clean and kid-friendly version of their song. “I’m blessed to work with children so we just gotta make it clean for them. We don’t need no children getting whooped cause they said this or that, you understand? It’s the children who really running these views up. So if we make sure both verses clean everybody coming clean, everybody gonna benefit.”

I sent a song to Kai to leak,” Lil Yachty had said of this Drake collab. “We couldn’t get the sample. So I just let Kai play it. It’s everywhere. [Mr. Hotspot] went down, like, a Christian path. I don’t even think we got into money. He was just like, ‘No.’ It was crazy.” Maybe this new music video means that the “Another Late Night” duo successfully worked something out with Mr. Hotspot to put the song out officially, but we can’t know for sure until it drops.

Meanwhile, “Supersoak” also prompted Soulja Boy to call Drake out for what he perceived as a diss against him. “Drake, you up here talkin’ about some S.O.D. super soak,” he expressed on social media. “Boy, stop playin with me, boy. That better be a f***ing shout out, n***a. You better keep that s**t light, my boy. This your first and only warning. This not gon’ be the best idea for you, family.”

Diddy’s Alleged Victim Files Police Report In Miami

Adria English, who recently accused Diddy of sex-trafficking her at his White Parties, has filed a report with police in Miami, according to a new report from TMZ. The outlet says she spoke with authorities about numerous allegations dating back to the early 2000s. She had previously made the claims in a civil lawsuit against the Bad Boy mogul, last month.

Law enforcement sources for TMZ confirmed the filing of the report, but say there’s not enough evidence to spark a full investigation. English’s attorney, Ariel Mitchell, told the outlet that she still remains cautiously optimistic about the process and plans to file another report in New York City once she can travel up in person.

Diddy Hosts The White Party In The Hamptons

English previously claimed she took a gig as a go-go dancer at Diddy’s infamous White Parties in an effort to help her boyfriend land a modeling job for Sean John. Diddy had allegedly pressured the man to perform oral sex on him to earn the spot, but the boyfriend refused. In her lawsuit, English accuses Diddy of supplying her with alcohol laced with Ecstasy and forcing her to have sex with his associates. English is also suing Tamiko Thomas, who she likened to Jeffrey Epstein’s wife, Ghislaine Maxwell. She cited several damages in the lawsuit including emotional trauma, intimacy issues, painful memories, and more.

Diddy has consistently denied all of the allegations against him over the last year. The wave of claims began when Cassie sued him with accusations of sexual abuse back in November 2023. Be on the lookout for further updates on Diddy on HotNewHipHop.

Remy Ma Almost Fell For A Nicki Minaj Reference On “Family Feud”

Remy Ma and Nicki Minaj’s beef is well-documented at this point, and while things died down a while ago, it’s still hard to ignore. Moreover, the former recently participated on Family Feud, and a particular fill-in-the-blank question led to a pretty interesting reaction. The prompt was “[Blank] Friday,” which led many eagle-eyed fans to spot the Bronx femcee’s small laugh when she heard the prompt. A lot of fans figured that she thought of Minaj’s album Pink Friday first, but she instead gave “Black Friday” as an answer. While we’ll probably never know whether or not Steve Harvey chose to be cheeky with this, fans ran with that narrative regardless.

Furthermore, the last “update” we got concerning Remy Ma and Nicki Minaj were some odd claims from Hazel-E. She claimed that Remy, the Migos, Suge Knight, and many others actually received payment to sabotage Nicki’s career. Of course, rumors like these are pretty frequent and common when it comes to the discussion around these two female rappers and many others. Even though we’ll probably never see evidence of this, some fanbases will still use it as a talking point either way.

Remy Ma Dodges A Nicki Minaj Reference On Family Feud

However, despite Remy Ma and Nicki Minaj’s long and contentious history, some fans still think that they can bury the hatchet. In fact, the latter seemed to hint at a reconciliation while promoting Pink Friday 2, but that never manifested for that album’s rollout. Still, with so much beef going around in 2024, it seems as good a time as ever to either re-engage or reconsider. After all, this combative year could also result in more amicable moments of coming together rather than continued battle.

Meanwhile, Remy Ma doesn’t really want to talk about any of this beef, for the most part. For example, she avoided a question about Nicki Minaj and Latto beefing at the 2023 Grammys. Maybe Remy would rather speak on her own experiences with femcees rather than other ones. Regardless of whether or not these two eventually make up and set their issues aside, it’s impossible to not think of their spat whenever their names come up together.

LL Cool J Clarifies Why He Excluded Jay-Z & DMX From His Def Jam Mount Rushmore

LL Cool J ruffled more than a few feathers when he revealed his Def Jam Mount Rushmore a couple of weeks ago. Moreover, the big reasons as to why relate to his exclusion of Jay-Z and DMX from that list, which many fans disagreed with. For the record, the New York rap legend picked himself, Public Enemy, Slick Rick, and the Beastie Boys as the four artists that define the record label in his view. After some backlash to this decision, he recently elaborated on his thought process on The Joe Budden Podcast and revealed why he gave the edge to those artists despite his love of Hov and X.

“We’re facing stuff that kept the lights on at certain periods of time,” LL Cool J’s comments began. “I know DMX is supremely talented, used to kill the stage, sold a ton of records. I know Jay did a ton of stuff up there. So many others, I can name a zillion artists up there who did unbelievable s**t. I’m very clear about that. But I also know that, when I walked into Rick Rubin’s dormitory, it was a f***ing idea, bro. Like, you’re trying to talk to me about guys that are popular. I watched this s**t when it was a f***ing idea on a Post-It. You know what I mean? It’s two different conversations. The world is talking about who was the most popular. That’s all they care about. Who was the most popular, who was the richest, who sold the most records, who was exciting?

LL Cool J On The Joe Budden Podcast

“I get that, and I respect it. I love it,” LL Cool J continued. “But that’s not what built the company. That’s what expanded the company at a different point. Look at our Mount Rushmore! Of the f***ing country. They talk about Mount Rushmore, but then they want me to put Bush on there. Who’s on there? The bones of the country, not who came later. And so people ask this question and then when you answer the question accurately, they want to say, ‘Oh, no, no. Well, Obama was considerably more impressive than this one.’ And of course I love Obama, you know what I’m saying? But the country, the Def Jam, the label was built by a key group of people. Like, this is the Mount Rushmore. You didn’t ask me who were the most commercially successful artists on the label. ‘Cause that’s an obvious answer.”

“Well, I respect the popularity,” LL Cool J responded to Joe Budden’s comparison to Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s battle. “Listen, no one can respect popularity more than me, bro. I had ten platinum albums in a row, I’m in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I got Grammys, 11 nominations. Like, I understand popularity in and out. I got TV shows in 200 countries in the world. It’s a 5 billion dollar franchise! It’s not that. The question was, ‘What is the Mount Rushmore of Def Jam?’ That is about the architects and the boons of the label. By the way, I actually respect these artists that came after on Def Jam. I’m not that guy. Listen, I introduced DMX to the world. You think I don’t love DMX? I put him on my song to introduce him to the f***ing world. I put the guy on!”
