You’re probably aware of how the Diddy scandal has either created or revived a lot of conspiracy theories around celebrities, whether they’re responsible for abhorrent things or they were silenced by the industry. However, Charlamagne Tha God doesn’t take these theories very seriously… Except when talking about the King of Pop, that is. “I’ve been hearing that theory about, you know, the corporations,” he began. “Listen, I could be totally wrong. I don’t think that there’s too many people that are important enough for a corporation to want to do all this to. And I really mean this when I say this, and I know that this is a crazy conspiracy theory. There’s only one person I believe in Hollywood who people conspired to actually take down. I’m talking about a mass conspiracy. Anytime they take you down, it’s people conspiring, ‘Cause it’s usually because you did some s**t.

“But I think that there’s one person who they really took down because he had too much power,” Charlamagne continued. “And I believe that person was Michael Jackson. I truly believe that. The reason I believe that is because – you can look into the story. You know, we had Deon Cole on The Breakfast Club the other day. Deon Cole told us the story of how he got high with Paul McCartney, and Paul McCartney told him. Paul McCartney and Michael used to be real cool. Paul was telling Michael, like, ‘Yo, you got to get your business together, you got to get your business right.’ He told him about the publishing game. Michael ended up getting so big that he bought The Beatles’ publishing. The Beatles’ publishing was worth so much that, literally, Sony gave Michael Jackson half of their publishing company just to own The Beatles’ catalog.

Charlamagne Tha God On Michael Jackson Conspiracy

“So whenever you used to see – look it up!” he added. “Whenever you used to see Sony ATV, that was Sony and ATV was Michael Jackson’s publishing company, right? Imagine how powerful a Black man is when he owns a majority of the music industry’s publishing. And, in some cases, was even giving publishing back to some of the artists. He gave Little Richard his publishing back. I don’t know how many people he did that to, but he gave Little Richard his publishing back. Look, in 2016, Sony paid $750 million to acquire Michael Jackson’s – what is that, 50% stake in Sony ATV Music Publishing. A joint venture that Jackson and Sony formed in 1995. This made Sony the sole owner of the world’s largest music publishing company. I believe – this is all conspiracy theory. This is Brilliant Idiots, by the way, we just talking, it’s a podcast.

“I believe that Michael Jackson had too much power in the music industry, had too much control over the most valuable asset in music which is people’s publishing, and I believe they had to take him out because of it,” Charlamagne concluded. “Smear his name, you know, eventually get him up out of here. And 2016, *laughs* they got their bag for way cheaper than they probably would’ve paid if he was still alive. He’s the one person. Motherf***ers talk about how Bill Cosby tried to buy NBC… You know, nah. He’s the one person I believe in entertainment – entertainment, mind you, I said the entertainment industry. Conspiracies happen all the time in other industries that actually really matter. But in the entertainment industry, he’s the one person I believe, actually, they killed his reputation and ultimately killed him.”

The group then felt like Richman should’ve just said his response to DJ Hed outright instead of simply tweeting out that he’s not a hip-hop artist, given how volatile and reactive social media reactions can be.

“You’ve been busting your a** to break through,” Joe Budden remarked about Tommy Richman. “Didn’t do it for whatever reason. The Joe Budden Podcast Speaks On Tommy Richman’s Hip-Hop Claims

“You and that group of people that can receive your success and never have to talk to Black people,” Joe Budden continued. “But when the first time you speak speaks to the years of – ‘Cause I don’t think there’s nothing wrong with what he said. I don’t look at him as a hip-hop artist either. N***a, you did not have to say that. But you saying it when hip-hop is who has broken you and accepted you, it gives us remnants of all of the white acts who their barrier of entry is hip-hop, and they abandon it, and they throw it to the side, and then they start doing country-folk music and act like that s**t never happened. Tommy Richman ain’t fire enough to do that yet. Sorry, sorry.

“Now, he did clean it up,” Joe Budden conceded. “Thank you, DJ Hed. Thank you, Tommy Richman, for not sounding as stupid as we thought you were about to sound.” However, Ice posited that Richman’s true issue was with media publications labeling him a hip-hop artist, which is a fair and valid theory. Melyssa Ford countered that Richman’s team should’ve been cognizant of how a statement like “I’m not a hip-hop artist” would resonate with the culture. Then, Joe Budden said that “the conversation is deeper” than the COYOTE artist might’ve thought.

Moreover, she recently joined Gucci Mane’s wife Keyshia Ka’oir for a new interview, during which Ka’oir asked Ozturk why she moved to Jamaica even before Kartel was released from prison. “I didn’t think about [if Vybz Kartel wouldn’t be released],” Sidem Ozturk revealed. “That was not an option. […] Honestly, [my family] didn’t know at first. *laughs* They didn’t know at first. It was just, like, he asked me to come. And then from there, it was just, how can I say no? And then my family, I’ve never lived apart from my family. So it was a bit – they didn’t really know how deep it was. I didn’t really tell anyone except for my friends how deep it really was. And then, I just, I couldn’t say no. And I just flew out, and my mom later found out that I flew out for him.

Sidem Ozturk Flew Out For Vybz Kartel Before His Release

Last week, Kodak Black took to his Instagram Story to announce his new streaming deal with Kick. His first-ever stream was last night, and there was no shortage of interesting moments. Just seconds into the stream, for example, viewers could see that the rapper’s car was engulfed in flames. He watched as firefighters worked to put out the fire, holding a sword and looking surprised.

“We was on the highway and the b*tch started jumping,” someone explained from behind the camera. “It smelled like gas and we pulled it over. Waited a lil bit because we was trying to take it to go get looked at because the gas line was leaking.” Fortunately, everybody was able to get out of the vehicle safely before the fire started.
