Nick Cannon Expertly Claps Back At Andy Cohen’s Vasectomy Inquiry: Watch

Nick Cannon’s large blended family sparks no shortage of conversation in the media. By now, the father of 12 has undeniably become a pro at defending his decisions. Last night, he did just that while chatting with hosts Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper on their New Year’s Eve Live show from Times Square.

The Bravo icon asked the recording artist about his “endgame” on his apparent “single-[handed]” quest to “[repopulate] the Earth.” He asked Cannon, “What is your plan?”

In response, the California native said, “Clearly, I don’t have a plan. Honestly, man, it’s just so much joy and elation that I have. The family that I have, I embrace it. I love it, and I don’t have a plan. That should have been clear from the jump.”

Cohen couldn’t help but retort with an inquiry that’s been on the minds of many as of late. “A vasectomy?” he teased. “Is that what you want me to get?” Cannon clapped back. “It’s my body, my choice.”

Turning the conversation back to a lighter topic, Cooper jumped in and asked the 42-year-old for any fatherly advice for new dads out there. He happily obliged, encouraging them to, “just operate out of love.”

“I mean some people may say that’s what got us here in the first place, but that’s what I would always do, and always do it with a smile,” he went on.

As far as New Year’s resolutions go, Cannon says he doesn’t specifically have any. “Like I said, I’m just so happy for health, and want to continue to be as healthy and filled with as much gratitude as possible for the next year,” he told Cohen and Cooper.

As TMZ notes, The Masked Singer host welcomed a total of five children in 2022. He and Bre Tiesi had their first, Legendary, in June. Afterward, LaNisha Cole welcomed baby Onyx, and Brittany Bell delivered Rise Messiah.

Additionally, Abby Da La Rosa gave birth to Zeppelin, a baby girl in recent weeks. His latest arrival, though, is Halo, who was born to Alyssa Scott after the death of their son Zen. Read more about the new baby here, and check back later for more pop culture updates.

Andy Cohen Suggested Nick Cannon Get A Vasectomy After Welcoming His 12th Child

Andy Cohen confirmed to Page Six that he and co-host Anderson Cooper wouldn’t drink during CNN’s New Year’s Eve broadcast, much to viewers’ dismay and Ryan Seacrest’s delight. But Cohen didn’t need liquid courage to ask Nick Cannon the most obvious question(s) after Cannon welcomed Halo Marie Cannon earlier this month, his 12th child and second with Alyssa Scott.

“Nick, I mean, you are singlehandedly repopulating the Earth. I give it up to you, man. What is your plan here? What is your endgame with the kids? You just want to keep going, or is there a number? Do you want to hit 20? Where are we going with this?” Cohen asked.

After shrugging and laughing it off, Cannon responded, “Andy, clearly I don’t have a plan. Honestly, man, it’s just so much joy and elation to have the family that I have. I embrace it, and I love it, but I don’t have a plan. That should’ve been clear from the jump.”

Cannon jokingly bucked against Cohen’s suggestion to get a vasectomy — “my body, my choice” — and gave advice to other fathers: “Just operate out of love. Some people may say that’s what got us here in the first place, but that’s what I would always do, and always do it with a smile.” Cannon has been a good sport about all of the jokes about his proficiency in fatherhood, even making a video about the stress of buying so many Christmas gifts.

To start the remote interview — Cannon videoed in from the Bahamas — Cohen also asked Cannon about his recent hospitalization for pneumonia. “I’m doing a lot better,” Cannon said. “With my condition in lupus and everything, it takes longer to get better than normal, but I’m surrounded by … energy here in paradise and bringing in the new year the right way. So, I feel amazing right now.”

Diddy Trolls Soulja Boy On New Year’s Eve

Diddy trolled Soulja Boy on New Year’s Eve, remarking that he “did everything first.” Reflecting on the end of 2022, Diddy also shared advice for his followers going into the new year.

“It’s fuckin’ Friday,” he began. “We out here, doing what we do, doing it first, like we always did. I’m back outside. You know, Soulja Boy, I did everything first n***a. It’s alright. I said your name, I know you ain’t gon… but hey!”

From there, Diddy urged his followers to take a break from the “negative energy” offered by the internet.

“Check it out, it’s so much bad shit on the internet right now,” he said. “So much negative energy. So much, just like, yo… everybody, let’s lift up the frequency and vibration. Let’s stay off this fuckin’ internet. If you seeing this, turn your phone off for a day. Get you some rest, get closer to God. Get closer to your friends.”

He continued: “Be kind to people. Think about what you’re saying, think about what you’re doing. And get ready for ’23 to rise. This your season of wealth, your season of happiness, your season of peace. God bless y’all. Love!”

Diddy has primarily been traveling throughout the Caribbean over the holidays. In previous posts on Instagram, Diddy shared a tour of the yacht he’s been using. He also reportedly joined Drake at a high-profile charity event in St. Barts on Thursday. Other guests included Lenny Kravitz, Mary J. Blige, Naomi Watts, Mike Tyson, Rita Ora, and more.

Yung Miami & Diddy Share Romantic New Year’s Eve Photo Dump

Yung Miami and Diddy – no one leaves the world more confused with their romantic antics than these two. We’ve seen the duo attend lavish parties and travel to the tropics together. Still, they maintain their respective single status.

For her part, the City Girl recently admitted having her baby daddy, Southside, on her roster of sneaky links. Diddy, however, fully had a child with another woman earlier this year. The world was utterly shocked by the news when it came out a few weeks back.

Miami has since clarified that she knew about the little one – Love Sean Combs – before the rest of the world. She revealed this during her interview with G Herbo on her Caresha Please podcast. The confession later got a noteworthy reaction from her beau.

On TikTok, the father of seven posted a video montage of him as Black Ass Santa, celebrating the holidays in various festive ways. Among them was turning into the Revolt TV series. At the time, he was quick to accuse the 27-year-old of flirting with his girl.

Of course, Twitter just as quickly poked fun at Diddy for not allowing Caresha to chat with other men when he got another woman pregnant.

Despite the drama the internet is trying to create, Miami is making it clear that she and Combs are unphased. On Saturday (December 31), she dropped off a series of photos that find her and the 53-year-old cruising on an ATV through the night.

“Idc if we on the run baby long as I’m next to you,” her caption reads. In the following snapshots, the “Twerkulator” artist poses on the deck of a luxury boat. Hugging her famous curves in a strapless silver dress, paired with chunky heels and minimal elegant jewellery.

It remains unclear if the snapshots are recent, or if Yung Miami and Diddy will be welcoming 2023 together. Check back later for updates on how all your favourite stars spend the big night.

Ludacris Inspires Fans With New Year’s Eve Video

Ludacris has been living his best life in recent years. After taking a break from music, the Atlanta bred star took his talents to the big screen and behind the camera.

As 2022 comes to an end, the “Move” rapper penned a motivational message for fans while lounging in a hot tub in the snow. “Cheers to 2023,” he shared. “Wishing everybody love, peace, happiness, and challenging y’all to do some new sh*t in the new year that you ain’t never did before. I love y’all. Cheers.” The caption reads: “Let The Past Be The PAST.”

Ludacris is jo stranger to trying to new things. Earlier this year, he earned an honorary Bachelor of Science in Music Management degree at Georgia State University.  He also made a seamless switch from rapping to acting when many people doubted his abilities. “When you come into it as a rapper,” he told Las Vegas Weekly, “people have a certain idea about you in the first place. So you have to go hard to not be looked at as some form of your regular everyday character.”

Last year, he created an animated series based on his eldest daughter, Karma. The Netflix series is based on real-life situations that Karma actually went through and tackles topics like self esteem. No stranger to encouraging others, Luda gave his 21-year old daughter advice on embracing her unique qualities as a young, Black girl.

“[I told her] there’s a creator that made us all with unique qualities, and you have to embrace those qualities — and that she comes from a long lineage of strong Black hair.”

As for his acting career, Luda says he likes to challenge people’s expectations of him. “I like to do the opposite of what people expect me to do” he told Las Vegas Weekly. “And I love doing that and continuing to grow and expand my acting résumé.”  Check out Luda’s end of the year inspo below.

Kodak Black Was Arrested For Trespassing On New Year’s Eve

While much of the world spent their New Year’s Eve with family and friends watching the countdown to 2022, Kodak Black spent part of the holiday behind bars. According to TMZ, the rapper was in Florida’s Greenacres neighborhood to celebrate the new year with friends and help pay off credit card debt for five families who lived in the area. Police then arrived to arrest him on trespassing charges connected to a four-month-old cease-and-desist letter. His lawyer, Bradford Cohen, told TMZ that the letter was issued by the local Housing Authority in September after Black was caught riding around in Pompano Beach.

Cohen added that the September arrest was unwarranted. He also claims Black was never officially served the cease-and-desist letter because he was never given it directly. Furthermore, Cohen says the letter included very few details, none of which said that the rapper was not allowed to be in the Greenacres neighborhood. Broward Sheriff’s Office says Black was booked early in the morning and released on a $25 bond a couple of hours later.

The rapper is currently out on a supervised release following his exit from prison last year. It remains to be seen if the arrest will be marked as a violation of his supervised release.

Kodak Black is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Kanye And Future Threw A Last-Minute New Year’s Eve Party In Miami

While many artists were canceling their New Year’s Eve performances, like The Strokes, Flaming Lips, and LL Cool J, Kanye West was getting one together at the last minute. Along with Future, Kanye threw a NYE bash in Miami last night, with both rappers performing. The party was also hosted by Justin LaBoy, but details of the private show didn’t really hit the internet until Kanye posted it on his Instagram yesterday.

Dubbed New Year’s Eve Black Party, it’s worth noting that the event took place in the exact same city where Miley Cyrus was hosting a NYE special for NBC. Her co-host, Pete Davidson, has been linked with Kanye’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian lately, so it was perhaps another attempt by Kanye to get her attention. Lately, he’s made it known that he hopes the couple get back together. And, he also very recently purchased a home on the same street as his ex-wife. She did wear a wedding dress during one of his many Donda shows, so clearly they’re not on horrible terms, but the divorce does seem to be pretty final on her end. She reportedly has no desire to reconcile, so probably skipped both of the New Year’s Eve parties just to be safe.

A Coachella Tribe Is Free To Sell Tickets To Their NYE Event Despite Goldenvoice’s Efforts To Stop Them

When one of the biggest music festivals in the world is named after the region where it goes down, there’s bound to be some confusion, and maybe even legal action. This has been the case this past month as Goldenvoice, which operates the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival (that we all commonly know as simply “Coachella,”) filed multiple restraining orders against Live Nation and the Day One ’22 NYE concert/fest (fka “Coachella Day One 22”) that they are producing alongside the Coachella Valley-based Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians.

Goldenvoice’s first effort against Live Nation was successful, thus leading to the name change of the event which now does not include the word “Coachella.” But Rolling Stone reports that on Monday, December 27th, a judge denied a second effort from Goldenvoice (which is owned by AEG) that would have denied Live Nation the ability to sell tickets to the event no matter what the name. Day One 22′ will go down on New Year’s Eve at the Coachella Crossroads venue, which is a couple of miles away from the Empire Polo Field where the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is held. The Day One 22′ lineup features Lil Wayne, E-40, DJ Diesel (Shaq), and Getter.

As Rolling Stone further reports, Judge R. Gary Klausner rejected Goldenvoice’s latest restraining order because the naming of the event came from the Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians, who are entitled to sovereign immunity from this type of legal action. The tribe isn’t named in the restraining order and this has allowed them to maintain their promotional material with the current name, and continue to sell tickets leading up to the event. The Chairman of the Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians, Darrel Mike, issued a statement on the latest advancement:

“Today’s response from Judge Klausner is a win for the Tribe, the community and our ticketing partners at Live Nation. As a community and nation who reside in Coachella, California — we are equally thrilled that our outdoor venue, Coachella Crossroads will be able to continue operation under its given name. The strongarming of Goldenvoice and its parent company AEG to take reign over a name of a region and businesses who choose to identify with it is disrespectful to small and large business operations, those under their employ and the indigenous people who live within the valley.”

It’s wild to consider how Goldenvoice has essentially proven a justifiable claim on the rights to using the word “Coachella,” based on the ubiquity of their festival. It feels like a slippery slope for other festivals that rise to such notable prominence in small regions that could stake a claim to the use of the name of said region. This is definitely a win for the Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians, but we should not breeze past the fact that in the end, this boils down to a Goldenvoice vs. Live Nation legal tiff.

Diddy Canceled His Annual New Year’s Eve Party Over COVID Concerns For The Second Time

Almost as much as he’s known for his long string of hits or his outsized personality and antics as a businessman, Diddy is notorious for his lavish parties, including his over-the-top, all-white Memorial Day shindigs and his blowout New Year’s Eve celebrations each year. However, for the second year in a row, Diddy has canceled his New Year’s Eve party over COVID-19 concerns as the new Omicron variant of the virus — or “Omarion” variant, if you’re feeling cheeky — continues to spread.

According to TMZ, the Omicron surge in Miami, where the party was to be held, convinced Diddy that his 500-guest hootenanny would put him and his fellow stars in jeopardy. This would appear to be a wise move according to the advice of National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director Dr. Anthony Fauci, who recommended on CNN to “stay away from that this year,” that being “a New Year’s Eve party, where you have 30, 40, 50 people celebrating, you do not know the status of the vaccination.”

Diddy isn’t the only one to cancel his planned NYE celebration. Four days ago, garage rock revivalists The Strokes announced the cancelation of their own New Year’s Eve concerts, although NBC’s planned special featuring Miley Cyrus and Pete Davidson appears to be proceeding as scheduled. If you’re content with staying in but still fiending for something to do, you can check out TikTok’s own planned concert with Rico Nasty, Charlie Puth, and Kali Uchis from the comfort of whichever device you use to scroll the hours away.
