Nicki Minaj’s New Year’s Resolution Leaves Anderson Cooper Confused Live On Air

Earlier this week, CNN’s Anderson Cooper left his role in delivering the news for a night to host New Year’s Eve Live. Though he seemed to have a pretty strong performance throughout the night, one clip did stump him. During the show, they played a video of Nicki Minaj when she appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen last month. They cut out one particular question where the “Super Freaky Girl” rapper was asked about her New Year’s resolution and her answer left Cooper somewhat stunned.

“My New Year’s resolution is to keep my foot on these b*tches’ necks,” Nicki said in her original interview with Cohen. Cooper doesn’t seem to understand it at first and has it read back to him by Cohen himself, who is serving as co-host. And after hearing it again Cooper only has one question. “Wow. Who is she referring to?” Cooper asked. The clip was shared online shortly after where it took off for his surprising and hilarious reaction. Check out the full video of the segment below.

Nicki Minaj Stuns Anderson Cooper

While a clip of Nicki was appearing on CNN, she was elsewhere having a New Year’s celebration of her own. She took the stage at a packed Miami club to deliver a hyped performance for the last night of 2023. But she also left fans with quite the tease when her DJ tried to put on her classic hit “Starships.” Nicki decided skip the song, saying that she doesn’t play it anymore because she doesn’t like it. Unsurprisingly, that’s met with some disappointment by fans in attendance.

Nicki Minaj’s new album Pink Friday 2 immediately shot up to the top of the Billboard 200. The album pushed more than 200k copies in its first week alone to take the top spot. With the project she became the first female rapper to ever score three number one albums following Pink Friday and Roman Reloaded. What do you think of Nicki Minaj’s New Year’s resolution? Was your reaction to hearing it anything like Anderson Cooper’s? Let us know in the comment section below.

Rick Rubin: “I Know Nothing About Music”

Rick Rubin, the legendary producer whose influence is still heralded as gospel, said that he knows nothing about music. In a recent interview with Anderson Cooper for 60 Minutes, he explained how he has no technical knowledge of music production. Moreover, he had some insights as to why his style and taste is so sought-after… and successful.

“Do you play instruments?” Cooper asked the Def Jam co-founder. “Barely,” he replied, to which Cooper responded almost incredulously: “Do you know how to work a soundboard?”

“No. I have no technical ability, and I know nothing about music,” Rubin stated. Cooper laughed, as we’re sure many did when they heard those words. Furthermore, given his track record (Kanye West, Run-DMC, The Strokes, Johnny Cash, Black Sabbath, and Eminem just to name a few), this seems preposterous. Still, the 59-year-old identified why he stamped his name into the game.

“I know what I like and what I don’t like, and I’m decisive about what I like and what I don’t like,” he expressed.

“So what are you being paid for?” Cooper asked. “The confidence that I have in my taste and my ability to express what I feel has proven helpful for artists,” the Beastie Boys producer said humbly.

In a previous interview with Channel 4 News, the producer highlighted the importance of singularity and not comparing yourself to others. Moreover, such advice likely fueled some of the greatest hip-hop albums of all time. Some are License to Ill by The Beastie Boys and Public Enemy’s It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back. However, more recent examples of Rubin’s genius are Ye’s Yeezus and Slim Shady’s The Marshall Mathers LP 2.

“We each have a singular voice, we each have our own voice,” he told Channel 4. “What I do is different than what you do…we all do something different and they’re not comparable. They have nothing to do with each other. It’s apples and oranges.

“So if you make something today and you think it can be better,” he concluded, “tomorrow you can improve it. You can continually make the thing you’re making better. You can learn and practice and do anything.”

Still, what do you think of Rick Rubin supposedly knowing “nothing” about music? However you may feel, let us know in the comments down below. Also, as always, stay tuned to HNHH for more wisdom from the music industry’s genius gurus.

Oy Vey! Snoop Dogg Confessed On CNN About The Time He Got High At A Bar Mitzvah

On New Year’s Eve, CNN’s Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper had to ring in the New Year on-air stone-cold sober. It was a departure from their hi-jinks of years past, so Cohen and Cooper did the next best thing, and brought on a guest who you can pretty much guarantee won’t be sober at any point in time: Snoop Dogg.

Cohen and Cooper had some fun grilling Snoop Dogg about some of the more unpredictable places that he’s gotten high at and the rapper of course had checked a lot of boxes. “Have you gotten high at a bar mitzvah?,” Cohen asked Snoop, who answered, “You wouldn’t believe me if I told you, but that answer is gonna be yes, yes, yes!” Cohen surmised that a rich parent paid Snoop to perform for their kid and Snoop confirmed that was pretty much the case. “He told me to ‘Do whatever you want to do!’”

Anderson Cooper couldn’t stop laughing at how ridiculous this on-air conversation was. “Where am I? Where Am I?!” Cooper asked. Cohen kept the game with Snoop Dogg going, asking him if he’d gotten high at an NFL football game. To which Snoop replied, “Yes, yes yes. And I almost got thrown out!” Snoop also copped to toking up at multiple awards shows, but not the Oscars, since he’s never been before. “If I do go, you better know that I will,” he said. And that while he’d never smoked weed on CNN before, he’d done so, “In front of the CNN building on Sunset Boulevard.”

Sounds like Snoop still has some spots to go on his hitlist, but until then, we’ll be waiting for him to post a clip of that “Up In Smoke Bar Mitzvah” someday.

Andy Cohen Suggested Nick Cannon Get A Vasectomy After Welcoming His 12th Child

Andy Cohen confirmed to Page Six that he and co-host Anderson Cooper wouldn’t drink during CNN’s New Year’s Eve broadcast, much to viewers’ dismay and Ryan Seacrest’s delight. But Cohen didn’t need liquid courage to ask Nick Cannon the most obvious question(s) after Cannon welcomed Halo Marie Cannon earlier this month, his 12th child and second with Alyssa Scott.

“Nick, I mean, you are singlehandedly repopulating the Earth. I give it up to you, man. What is your plan here? What is your endgame with the kids? You just want to keep going, or is there a number? Do you want to hit 20? Where are we going with this?” Cohen asked.

After shrugging and laughing it off, Cannon responded, “Andy, clearly I don’t have a plan. Honestly, man, it’s just so much joy and elation to have the family that I have. I embrace it, and I love it, but I don’t have a plan. That should’ve been clear from the jump.”

Cannon jokingly bucked against Cohen’s suggestion to get a vasectomy — “my body, my choice” — and gave advice to other fathers: “Just operate out of love. Some people may say that’s what got us here in the first place, but that’s what I would always do, and always do it with a smile.” Cannon has been a good sport about all of the jokes about his proficiency in fatherhood, even making a video about the stress of buying so many Christmas gifts.

To start the remote interview — Cannon videoed in from the Bahamas — Cohen also asked Cannon about his recent hospitalization for pneumonia. “I’m doing a lot better,” Cannon said. “With my condition in lupus and everything, it takes longer to get better than normal, but I’m surrounded by … energy here in paradise and bringing in the new year the right way. So, I feel amazing right now.”
