D4vd Delivers Emo Alternative Cuts On His Two Pack “Withering”

D4vd’s growth as an artist has been nothing short of incredible. The Darkroom signee is still just 18 years old and has a copius amount of hits already. His debut EP Petals to Thorns holds five of the 10 most popular song spots on his Spotify. The highest-streamed track from that tape, “Here With Me,” is over 900 million plays.

However, that still is not even close to his most played song. “Romantic Homicide” posseses that title with 68 million more listens. His alternative, rock, emo style has captivated so many fans, 24 million plus to be exact. Since 2021, d4vd has not put out a full-length record. Hopefully, that happens this year, especially after dropping two new tracks today.

Listen To “Leave Her” & “2016” By D4vd

“Leave Her” and “2016” fall under a two-pack called Withering. The first of the two sees d4vd emotionally wail into the night about being lost about a relationship and whether or not they should be together. “2016” goes more introspective about his mental struggles and suicidal thoughts. Both are very sad songs, which is nothing new for him or for most of the label at large.

What are your thoughts on these brand-new singles, “Leave Her” and “2016,” by d4vd? Are these some of his best singles in recent memory, why or why not? Is he the best alternative songwriter going right now? Do you think this is the start of an album rollout? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your hottest takes in the comments section below. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding d4vd. Quotable Lyrics From “2016”:

I was young, I was dumb
Now I overthink things
That I shouldn’t, I couldn’t
You wouldn’t believe what I did as a kid back in 2016

Fivio Foreign Taps Vory, Meek Mill, 41, Swae Lee, & More For “Pain & Love 2”

On thing you have to respect about Fivio Foreign is how much he has grown in the past couple of years. The Brooklynite has only been around since 2019, but has plenty of massive accomplishments in his still-budding career. Perhaps the one that altered his trajectory the most was his incredible contribution to Kanye West’s Donda. “Off The Grid” gave Fivio the platform to deliver an extended verse. He made the most of that opportunity, putting on arguably his most passionate performance yet.

Since that point he went on to drop his sophomore record B.I.B.L.E. It was his biggest record to date with a diverse feature list from A$AP Rocky, Ne-Yo, Lil Yachty, KayCyy, Quavo, and Kanye and Alicia Keys. Additionally, Fivio became the first rapper to use an AI-generated beat with his song “Doin Me.” If that was not enough to convince you of his growth, he is now helping put on the next wave of NY drill talents. He did so on one of the singles to Pain & Love 2 called “Get Deady.”

41 is trio that consists of TaTa, Kyle Richh, and Jenn Carter. Even with the eight new songs, it is still one of the best in the tracklist. The second and final teaser was the Meek Mill collab “Same 24.” Outside of those guests, familiar face Lil Tjay appears. Additionally, you will find Swae Lee, Sheff G, Popcaan, Rowdy Rebel, and Vory. Be sure to check out the project with the links above.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new album, Pain & Love 2, by Fivio Foreign? Where does this project rank in his discography and why? Which songs are you gravitating toward the most right now? Who had the strongest appearance on the record and why? Is he the best NY drill rapper going? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. Little Simz Explores The Club Scene On “Drop 7” EP

One of the most intriguing rappers from the UK area is back to bring something fresh to her discography. We are talking about London’s Little Simz. Arguably the best the country has to offer, the soon-to-be 30-year-old is always blending creative instrumentals with pinpoint lyricism. If you have the mindset that female rappers these days are trash, just check out a Little Simz project. She is as close as a sure thing gets with every release. The amount of effort that goes into each song is something to behold.

Little Simz dropped her last full-length record just a little over a year ago with NO THANK YOU. It was a terrific listen that quickly became an album of the year candidate right before the end of 2022. Simz had some beautiful songs about being comfortable with yourself and loving everything about you. Today though, she is adding onto a series that she started in the early stages of her career.

Listen To Drop 7 By Little Simz

The colorful musical mind has sporadically put out an EP series called Drop. Usually, the tracklists a do not exceed five songs, but this seventh one ironically has seven. This also marks a decade long achievement for Simz. On Drop 7, she explores some dancier sounds that have a faster pace to them. There are some melodic cuts sprinkled in as well, allowing for Simz to show off her singing talents. The one drawback is that a good deal of the songs are too short. But, this is an EP and this may not be the last we see of her this year.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new EP, Drop 7, by Little Simz? Where does this project rank in her discography and why? Do you think that something bigger is coming later in the year? Which songs are you gravitating toward the most right now? If she added features who should she have brought on? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. ScHoolboy Q Gives Us Contrasting Sounds On “Blueslides” & “Back In Love”

TDE and ScHoolboy Q fans can start to rejoice again! The gritty German-born MC is coming back with a new purpose in 2024. Q is back to provide his supporters with two tracks from his upcoming album BLUE LIPS. It will be the 37-year-old’s sixth project and his first since 2019’s CrasH Talk. That LP was more of a commercially-sounding release with more trap/pop rap-inspired cuts. That was especially the case with mainstream features such as Travis Scott, Lil Baby, Kid Cudi, and 21 Savage, among others.

However, “Blueslides” and “Back In Love” seem to hearken back to the days of the Blank Face LP. The first of the two brings a classical/jazzy sample into the fold where ScHoolboy raps in a thought-provoking manner. Besides being able to get introspective, Q can also dip into his banger bag. It is what makes him such an intriguing rapper and why fans are so amped for this tape.

Listen To “Blueslides” & “Back In Love” By ScHoolboy Q & Devin Malik

“Back In Love” features production from TDE beatmaker Devin Malik and some mean-mugging rapping from Q. The beat on this one is stank-face-inducing. There are haunting and nimble piano keys that peek through some guitar riffing and howling. It is a grimy trap instrumental that pairs perfectly with ScHoolboy Q’s gravelly voice. The feedback for both songs is already extremely positive and for good reason. He is cooking up something truly special and we cannot wait for March 1. Sadly though, according to HipHopNMore, the songs will only be up on YouTube for 24 hours. So, go check them out while you can!

What are your thoughts on these brand-new singles, “Blueslides” and “Back In Love,” by ScHoolboy Q and Devin Malik? Out of the two songs, which one is better and why? Will this be Q’s best album ever, why or why not? Is this the most exciting upcoming TDE album release this year? Who else do you want to see on the project? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your hottest takes in the comments section below. KILLY is someone who knows how to bring the vibes or the bangers. He can do that so effortlessly due to his melodic, auto-tuned voice. The Canadian rager has been impressing us, as well as fans with his recent steady flow of singles and short projects. His most recent of the latter dropped back in the middle of September 2023.

TiaCorine Has Bangers Galore On Her New Tape “Almost There”

There are a lot of unique female rappers popping up every other week it seems. Some of the newest ones, like Sexyy Red, GloRilla, among others, are already superstars. However, there are some out there with the potential to overtake them in near future. One name you may want to keep tabs on is a Winston-Salem, North Carolina product. She goes by TiaCorine and the 30-year-old has been gaining more and more of a following as of late. Tia has actually been releasing tracks since 2017, but did not really pick things up until 2020.

That is when TiaCorine put out her first project, 34Corine. Even, though her talents have not been recognized for that long, she is garnering plenty of cosigns. On her sequel tape The Saga of 34Corine, she put in work with Kenny Beats and DaBaby. She is bringing more high-end collabs and bangers to her latest EP, Almost There.

This is also a sequel of sorts, following up I Can’t Wait, her debut album in 2022. Almost There had a pairing of singles released ahead of time. She brings elements of trap, melodic rap, and even some hints of rage. You will find Key Glock and Zelooperz, as well as some production from BNYX and Pi’erre Bourne. Ryan Leslie Returns After 12-Year Hiatus With New Album “You Know My Speed,” Announces Europe Tour

Taking a break from releasing full-length projects certainly has its pros and cons. When you look at the benefits, its mostly for the artist. It allows them to really hone in on a sound and damn near master it. Or, they can work on crafting something no one will expect. That alone could be a positive or negative for the creator. As for the cons, the fans could move on and forget about you. That is especially true today with the younger generation. They are always looking for the next best thing. However, Ryan Leslie decided to take his time.

Usually, five to six years feels like a decade. But, Ryan waited 12 (!) years, so that must feel like a century to most. Leslie got his start in the R&B world in the late 2000s. He specializes in buttery smooth and braggadocious cuts and he is delivering that with a modern twist on his newest record. Leslie is adding more kick drums and bass to You Know My Speed.

A good deal of his audience is in Germany, which is one country he will be performing in. The Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain, and France are also in the mix.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new album, You Know My Speed, by Ryna Leslie? Do you think this is the best album he has ever put out, why or why not? Icewear Vezzo Raps About The Street In Gritty Album “Live From The 6”

If there is one thing you can expect from Icewear Vezzo, it is street bangers. That is what he is bringing in spades on his latest project Live From The 6. This is the Detroit, Michigan native’s first album since December 9, 2022, when he put out Paint the City, hosted by Gangsta Grillz and DJ Drama. In that year and roughly two months, Vezzo has put out some solid singles.

The most recent of the bunch is perhaps the catchiest hit he has written in recent memory, “Perfect.” It features a first-time collaborator DaBaby. It paints a self-aware tale about how Vezzo and his co-star are not the best men because of the violent lives they can lead. However, they know that they still have a lot to offer.

Soulja Boy Continues The “Swag” Series With Its Sixth Installment

The First To Do It is something that Soulja Boy will always live by. While he might not be the originator of every hip-hop trend, he certainly deserves a lot of credit for what he has done. It does have less to do with lyricism and more so how to market yourself in a cutthroat industry. The Chicago, Illinois native has recently been in the news for things outside of music.

Over the past month, Soulja Boy has fallen into the deadly Blueface trap. He is someone else is making headlines for everything but his material. The reason these two are tangled up with one another because Blueface claimed he could out rap Soulja in a Verzuz battle. Since then, things have escalated quickly and they continue to beef into February.

Brooklyn, New York rapper CJ Fly is back with a quick EP called SAME 24. It features three songs titled “The List,” “Alchemist Flow,” and “Devil’s Eye.” If you have not heard of him he is more of an underground face that got his start with Pro Era.
