NLE Choppa Showcases His First Signature Shoe In Video For New Single “Stickin And Movin”

People can criticize NLE Choppa until the cows come home. But one thing you cannot knock him for is his positive nature. The Memphis MC has been extremely vocal online about spreading love, as well as being open and honest about his sexuality. For only being 21 years old, the “Walk Em Down” rapper shows a lot of maturity and seems to have developed a solid moral compass.

He is really thriving and part of the reason for that is the number of big tracks he has released. 2023 is going to be a tough year to beat, but NLE Choppa seems to be up to the challenge. He has just dropped a new track called “Stickin And Movin,” which follows up is hilariously raunchy and sex-positive cut “SLUT ME OUT 2.” Besides following up a highly-discussed single, this song is a big deal because it helps celebrate a tremendous fashion industry accomplishment.

The FERG Era Is Upon Us With New Single “MDMX”

Just a few days ago, fans of the A$AP Mob were thrilled to see that Ferg and Rocky were bumping some new material that they recently recorded. A short clip made the rounds online of the two crew mates getting hype for a possible collab coming soon. However, people are now in shock that the boisterous rapper has dropped the A$AP title from his name. Everyone is just now finding about this due to FERG (his new stage name) dropping a single out of nowhere called “MDMX.”

There is a strong possibility that FERG did not accept the supposed invitation from Nast to rejoin the Mob. He apparently was removed from the 2010s collective in 2020 and things just have not been the same since then. Him shortening his name to FERG could be all we need to know that a new era for the Harlem veteran is underway. “MDMX” is just the second solo single from him since 2021’s “Green Juice” with Pharrell Williams and The Neptunes.

Listen To “MDMX” By FERG

Additionally, it follows up his 2020 sequel tape Floor Seats II, so it has been a long time coming for the “Shabba” MC. “MDMX” is a trap trunk knocker with some trademark voice inflections and pretty entertaining flows. The fact that it is not anything to outside of the box for FERG, could hamper this supposed new trajectory’s impact. But it is a serviceable release until hopefully more comes later on.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single “MDMX” by FERG? Is this one of his strongest releases as of late, why or why not? How do you feel about him dropping the A$AP moniker from his stage name? What do you think he is suggesting by doing this? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding FERG. Ferg Drops ASAP From His Name For New Release, “MDMX”: Fans React

Ferg has shared his first song since dropping the ASAP moniker from his name, prompting surprise and concern from fans of the group on social media. The long-time ASAP Mob member shared a music video for the track, “MDMX,” on his YouTube page, on Monday.

Fans had mixed responses to the move. Many expressed their shock such as one user who commented on the video: “Ferg took A$AP out his name???” Another fan remarked: “Damn the Era of Ferg (No ASAP).” Others were more confident in Ferg choosing to carve his own path. “It’s weird without A$AP, but guess he went his own way,” one fan commented. One more wrote: “A$AP not being in his name isn’t that big a deal, the spirit of the collective died with Yams. Good to see Ferg back at it.”

Ferg previously announced his decision to drop ASAP from his name after inking a deal with JAY-Z’s Roc Nation back in 2021. In a press release from the time, the imprint said: “Ferg is very much still part of the Mob, and is A$AP Ferg within A$AP Mob… Ferg as an individual artist and with his solo career is Ferg.” In that vein, Ferg recently linked up with ASAP Rocky on Instagram Live to tease new music.

Ferg Shares Music Video For “MDMX”

Rocky previously discussed his relationship with Ferg during an appearance on Drink Champs in 2020. He said at the time: “Everything’s lovely, man. We all blessed to be here. Everybody doing they thing and everybody’s eclectically kind of like progressively being creative, doing they own thing… The hardest thing to do is to keep a group together and sh*t like that. That’s the hardest thing, bro.” Be on the lookout for further updates on Ferg on HotNewHipHop.

Childish Gambino Officially Releases A Fan-Favorite With “Human Sacrifice”

Childish Gambino is the hot topic today, as fans are rejoicing now that Atavista is finally here. He uncharacteristically dropped the tweaked version of 3.15.20 on a Monday. But we sure as heck are not going to complain about getting this before New Music Friday. The California native dropped the original rendition back in March of 2020, but it turns out it was just a placeholder for this project in front of us. Even though this just hit streaming, we have been thoroughly enjoying the efforts of Childish Gambino on “Human Sacrifice.”

For many loyal fans of his, this has been a long time coming. “Human Sacrifice,” according to Genius, was first performed all the way back in 2018. It was played at the start of the This Is America Tour, which kicked off in Duluth, Georgia. The next time listeners heard a glimpse of the sought after record would be in 2019 during an advertisement to promote the Google Pixel phone. However, people were disappointed and quite hopeless that the song would get a release after not making it on 3.15.20.

But it is now officially out six years later, and the reception has been positive. We can see why this song was beloved right from the jump, as the tropical-like drums and melody are ear-grabbing. The writing is simple, but this song is more about the vocals and the atmosphere it creates. Gambino brings a passionate performance across the progressive instrumental, as he sings about the indescribable feelings of loneliness and receiving love.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new song “Human Sacrifice” by Childish Gambino? Is this the best track from his new album Atavista, why or why not? Where do you rank this project amongst the rest of his catalog? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Gunna Is Living Life Freely On “Hakuna Matata”

Gunna is refocused and all about being a better him on his brand-new album One of Wun. The fairly quick follow-up to a Gift & a Curse sees the College Park, Georgia flow master bring along just a few guests on his cruise to happiness. Offset, recent collaborator Normani, Leon Bridges, and Roddy Ricch, all do a solid job breaking some of the more monotonous stretches. However, Gunna still manages to be entertaining on his own, especially on “hakuna matata.”

It is clear that the trap veteran was not aiming for hits on this project. But “hakuna matata” is one of the tracks that comes closest to being easily digestible or one that could land on Spotify playlists. On this cut, Gunna raps about his new outlook moving forward, which is one of no regrets. Of course, Disney die-hards, or anyone who has seen The Lion King, knows this iconic phrase.

Young Wunna on tour, I BP the charter, livin’ hakuna matata (Hakuna matata) / Ain’t no more worries, I’m up at it early, yo’ n**** tryna figure out his problems (Figure out his problems).” Even though the beat on this song is reminiscent of a lot of the other cuts on One of Wun, it still sounds good. Gunna might also provide his strongest performance flow wise and slips and slides across the lowkey instrumental.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new song “hakuna matata” by Gunna? Is this the best track from his new album One of Wun, why or why not? Shoreline Mafia Return From The Depths To Drop Dark Single “HEAT STICK”

Over the last few years, it feels like a lot of rap groups have been splitting up. Unfortunately, some of the most well-known collectives, like Migos and Injury Reserve, for example, have disbanded due to tragic deaths. However, there are also just some that were formed years ago and have gone their separate ways to forge their solo careers. But there is still a glimmer of hope that rap crews are not dead.

One source of light we can look to is the West Coast-based entity Shoreline Mafia. The Los Angeles, California tandem spearheaded by OHGEESY and Fenix Flexin, are reunited after quite the hiatus. To be more exact, the high school friends have been doing their own thing for about four years. The last offering we heard from them was their album Mafia Bidness.

The project had features from 03 Greedo, Mike Sherm, Future, Duke Deuce, Wiz Khalifa, YG, and plenty more. Now, Shoreline Mafia appears to be back on the fast track toward a new project with “HEAT STICK.” This dark and moody banger sees Fenix and OHGEESY detail a night of debauchery and partying. You can check out the song and brand-new set of visuals above.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single “HEAT STICK” by Shoreline Mafia? After four years of no music from the duo, is this track satisfying, why or why not? Sleepy Hallow Pens Another Catchy Drill Record For The Summer With “Winners In Paris”

A pretty accurate way to describe Sleepy Hallow would be a Pop Smoke lite. While you might read that as a slight, we in fact mean the total opposite. The late Brooklynite navigated drill with a grimier and darker approach. Additionally, his voice was smoky, gravelly, and had some bassy qualities to it. In the case of Sleepy Hallow, he has a deep cadence too, but not as much. Additionally, most of tracks are more on the melodic and artsy side. Unfortunately, we never got to hear a collab between these two. They would be a great yin and yang, but we can keep dreaming.

The reason we are talking about Sleepy Hallow today is because he has a new single out called “Winners In Paris.” This is the Flatbush, New Yorker’s second solo release of 2024, following up his Valetine’s Day-themed “Cupid’s Guidance.” On “Winners In Paris,” Sleepy is dealing with a woman who he really wants to get with. Unfortunately, he has a hard time changing his old ways and she is not down for the games.

I’m still myself, ain’t give a f*** who is acceptin’ me / She want the best for me, this what she said to me,” he raps. The beat is minimal, but it gives a summer vibe and Hallow delivers an easy-to-follow flow that is catchy beyond belief. This has the potential to become another “2055” situation and we would not be surprised if it blows up.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single “Winners In Paris” by Sleepy Hallow? Is this one of his better releases as of late, why or why not? Do you think he is hurtling toward a new album/EP in the near future? Is he the best New York drill artist going right now? Conway The Machine, Method Man, SK Da King, & Flee Lord Bring Straight Lyricism On “Meth Back!”

Conway the Machine assembled the Avengers for his brand-new album Slant Face Killah (SFK). His fourth studio album, and follow-up to WON’T HE DO IT, was rumored to be the side B of the latter. However, the prolific Buffalo-bred rapper decided to come through with a separate entity and it has been one of the stronger releases of the year. One cut that Conway the Machine provided on this LP that we have been spinning again and again is “Meth Back!”

This one of many tracks that boasts some incredible guest talent. Based on the title, you might have been able to guess that Wu-Tang legend Method Man was a feature. That assumption would be correct, but he is not the only G.O.A.T. joining Conway. Underground vets Flee Lord and SK Da King pop up for one the nastiest old school hip-hop tracks of 2024.

Listen To “Meth Back!” By Conway The Machine, Method Man, SK Da King, & Flee Lord

Instrumental alone, this track is incredible. Daringer, fellow Buffalo resident and in-house producer for Griselda, lays down a simple but effective beat. The ghostly woodwind loop on top of the dirty drums is a lethal combination. Then, we you add in everyone’s terrific pen game and intimidating cadence, it is a recipe for straight gas. It is hard to pick who had the best outing, but Meth’s might take the cake for us.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new song “Meth Back!” by Conway the Machine, Method Man, SK Da King, and Flee Lord? Where does this track rank amongst the rest on Slant Face Killah (SFK)? Who had the stronger performance on this cut? Where do you place this tape in his discography and why? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section.
