Fridayy Drops Soulful Single “Back To You”

Fridayy has already delivered plenty of good music this year, and it looks like the Haitian-American hitmaker has even more where that came from up his sleeve. Late last week, he unveiled his brand-new single, “Back To You.” The romantic track arrived alongside a visualizer that captures all of the old-school R&B vibes one could hope for. The song itself revolves around someone being unable to resist one person in particular, and knowing they wouldn’t want it any other way. Fridayy’s soulful vocals pair well with the laid-back instrumental, leaving listeners wanting more.

At the time of writing, it remains unclear whether or not Fridayy has any plans for a new full-length project. “Back To You” follows his debut self-titled studio album, which he dropped in August of 2023. It also follows some of his more recent releases, including his June single “Baddest In The Room.”

Aside from his solo material, Fridayy has also been hard at work on various exciting collabs. Earlier this month, for example, he teamed up with GloRilla on her track “Queen Of Memphis.” The song appears on her own debut studio album, Glorious. He and Hunxho also recently joined forces for the Atlanta rapper’s song “Worth It,” which appears on his sophomore studio album Thank God. What do you think of Fridayy’s new single, “Back To You”? Will you be adding it to your fall playlist or not? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Wretch 32 Little Simz Benjamin A.D “Black And British”: Stream

Wretch 32 just dropped one of the most thoughtful and passionate hip-hop tracks you’ll hear this week with “Black And British,” featuring Little Simz for a guest verse and Benjamin A.D on the chorus. It follows previous projects like 2021’s Little Big Man and covers a whole lot of topics with a lot of compelling grace. Family trauma, social dynamics, and educational systems fall under their empathetic and pained magnifying glass over a gorgeously progressive, calm, and orchestral instrumental.

In addition, “Black And British” also comes with a music video that sees the “Ocean Deep” MC pay homage to his family history while commenting on its struggles. Furthermore, he does a great job of painting the picture here with very vivid imagery and a lot of sharp lines. Also, Benjamin A.D provides some solid melodies, and as for Little Simz, the “Satellite Business 2.0” creative offers a mindful glimpse into her upbringing. Wretch 32 came through with a pretty dense cut, but the musicality on display and the skillfully focused performances make it resonate even if you don’t catch everything on first listen.

With all this in mind, we can’t wait for what the Upon Reflection lyricist crafts next. If you haven’t heard Wretch 32’s “Black And British” with Little Simz and Benjamin A.D yet, you can find it on your preferred streaming service or check out the music video via YouTube below. Down there, you can also find some standout lines from the record and the comments section for you to leave your thoughts on the new single. As always, come back to HNHH for the best new rap drops around the clock.

KidSuper Records Recruits Giggs & Quavo For Debut Single “Big In Da Game”

Colm Dillane, a fashioner designer who has been a part of some of the grandest runway stages, is launching a new creative project for himself. He’s always had a passion for music and has been working on some other things behind the scenes. However, the 33-year-old mind is launching his own record label called KidSuper. To get things off on the right foot, Dillane is here with “Big In Da Game.” It’s a single that has been in the works for a little while, according to Hypebeast. Him and the UK rap legend crossed paths while the latter was filming a music video with Dave East.

The location just happened to be in front of Dillane’s KidSuper Roebling Street headquarters. They connected and got to work shortly after on the single. It went on to be previewed at Dillane’s Paris Fashion Week STRING THEORY Fall/Winter 2024 show. Ironically, Quavo happened to be at the event, liked what he heard, and asked to be on the single. So, that’s the origin story of how KidSuper’s “Big In Da Game” came to be, but how does it sound? Overall, it’s pretty standard trap braggadocio, but it’s a solid start for one of the newest labels on the block.

Andre 3000 Drops Epic New Single “Something Is Happening…”

Andre 3000 is an adventurous artist. The Outkast star has really marched to the beat of his own drum throughout his career, but it’s been especially notable as of late. Instead of giving fans a solo album of raps, Three Stacks decided to take a left turn into instrumental jazz. Andre 3000 has taken up the flute as his new passion, and this is still the case on his new single. The artist contributed a song to the EP Transa: Selects, and it’s as unwieldy and ambitious as its title. Seriously, the title on this song would give Fiona Apple a run for her money.

The full title is “Something Is Happening and I may Not Fully Understand but I’m Happy to Stand for the Understanding.” There’s a lot going on there. Fortunately, Andre 3000 delivers on the weightiness of the title with a nearly thirty minute runtime. “Something Is Happening” is an epic instrumental piece that has the former rapper pushing himself as a flute player. It’s a fascinating listen, in so much as it’s difficult to tell where one musical idea bleeds into another. Andre 3000 is harder to pin down than ever without his voice serving as his main instrument. That said, this song is worth a try. You just need a nice chunk of time to get through it all.

Quando Rondo Pays Homage To Late Cousin On New Track Following Lil Durk’s Arrest

Yesterday, Lil Durk was arrested in Florida for alleged murder-for-hire. Reportedly, the Chicago rapper faces life imprisonment or the death penalty if found guilty. His arrest took place hours after five alleged OTF members were arrested and hit with similar charges. Authorities believe they were allegedly hired to kill Quando Rondo in retaliation for King Von’s 2020 death. In 2022, Quando Rondo and his cousin Lul Pab’s vehicle got shot up at an LA gas station. Quando Rondo survived while Lul Pab died as a result of his injuries.

As details of Durk’s arrest spread online, social media users have been eager to hear from Quando Rondo. He’s yet to issue a direct response to the arrest, but he did release a new song, “Life Goes On.” The emotional track pays homage to Lul Pab and his other late loved ones and features lyrics about being “scarred” by their passing.

Quando Rondo Unveils Emotional New Track “Life Goes On”

The song arrived alongside a cinematic accompanying music video, which appears to be resonating with fans so far. While it’s unconfirmed whether or not Quando Rondo already had plans to drop the song before Durk’s arrest, viewers doubt that the release could be a coincidence. The video comes amid reports that Durk allegedly tried to flee the country prior to his arrest.

According to Associated Press, he allegedly booked flights from Florida to Switzerland, Dubai, and Italy. He was taken into custody before he was able to board any of them. In her affidavit, FBI Agent Sarah Corcoran alleges that OTF members engage “in violence, including murder and assault, at the direction of Banks and to maintain their status in OTF.” What do you think of Quando Rondo’s new track, “Life Goes On”? What about him dropping it right after Lil Durk was arrested for alleged murder-for-hire? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Megan Thee Stallion Shows Her Adoration For Houston Rap Culture With “Bigger In Texas” Visual

Megan Thee Stallion, while providing a lot of bangers on MEGAN, it’s subsequent ACT II takes all gas and no brakes to a new level. If the cover wasn’t telling enough for you, it does hint at the sonic direction for these 13 new tracks. The gaudy diamond-encrusted font and her extravagant grill scream that this is going to be strictly Southern hip-hop slappers. Right on cue, you are going to put in the time machine as the Houston rapper is doing just that with the wavy synths to the familiar drum patterns. This is easily the most she has leaned into her H-Town roots in her music and most of the love letters do the era justice.

One of those prime examples is “Bigger In Texas,” the lead-off cut for this extended version of her self-titled record. The brand-new visual especially shows off her love for the Lone Star State with the over-the-top lowriders, Johnny Dang’s famous jewelry store, and plenty of cameos from artists that paved the way. Slim Thug, Paul Wall, and Sauce Walka are just a few that show love to the H-Town Hottie. As for the track itself, Meg brings her patented flow, adlibs, bars, and the whole bit and it’s a pretty impressive display regardless of how much you’ve heard this formula. There are some hilarious flashes of her humor as well with gut-busting bars like, “Pockets gettin’ thickеr and thicker, I’m tastin’ the money, it look likе I ate a few hundreds / I just hopped on a G6, I’m gettin’ head while I’m playin’ my Switch, hm.”

Gucci Mane And Sexyy Red Link Up For Bouncy Single “You Don’t Love Me”

Gucci Mane and Sexyy Red are musically compatible in too many ways to count. Sexyy Red grew up listening to Gucci, and both have a knack for making catchy, anthemic trap bangers. Sexyy literally has a song called “Female Gucci Mane.” It was only a matter of time before these two hopped on a song, and we can happily confirm that “You Don’t Love Me” delivers on the hype. The song is built around a catchy, guitar-based instrumental. It sounds retro in a lot of ways, but without veering into dated territory.

Gucci Mane takes center stage with his opening verse. There’s a lose connectivity to the chorus and the verses in terms of a story, but “You Don’t Love Me” is all about the vibes. Gucci Mane sounds smooth as ever over the aforementioned riff. Sexyy Red handles the hyped-up chorus, and her delivery makes for a nice change of pace from Gucci’s mellow sound. She also takes over the song during the second verse, and does her typically Sexyy Red thing. It’s going to sound good blasting out of speakers, which is what both Gucci and Sexyy are going for. We love it.

The Weeknd Mocks His Playboy Image On “The Weeknd’s Dark Secret”

The Weeknd has built his persona on sex and drugs. He’s the embodiment of lust and regret, right down to the album titles and visuals he’s rolled out over the last decade. It’s worked, obviously. He’s one of the biggest pop stars of all time. The funny thing is that The Weeknd has parodied this persona in every other medium. He played a scheming and decidedly uncool cult leader in HBO’s The Idol, and he made an unexpected appearance on the animated series American Dad. He also contributed a song to the latter, which is now available on streaming.

“The Weeknd’s Dark Secret,” for the sake of the bit, is that he’s a virgin. The whole song is about how the singer puts off a debaucherous front, but is actually saving himself for the right woman. It’s a very funny concept. The Weeknd’s sincere delivery makes it even better. He really sells the song, and makes it catchy thanks to his tongue-in-cheek lyrics. “I see you lookin’ in a strong way,” he sings. “But I won’t give it up. Supermodels, they were all fake, ’cause I never humped.” It doesn’t hurt that the instrumental has a nocturnal bounce to it reminiscent of his classic After Hours.

NARCY & redveil Team Up For Politically Charged Track “Sword”

NARCY is an MC who has always taken a stand against injustice. Overall, the Montreal-based artist is a creative through and through. He doesn’t mind taking artistic risks, especially when they can help enhance his message. For instance, he was one of the first artists to make a music video entirely out of AI. This is all the more impressive when you realize he did it before the ChatGPT boom from 2023. Moreover, NARCY is also a professor who has taught classes at Concordia University about hip-hop, and he even had a course on Kanye West that made headlines a few years ago.

Through all of these endeavors, NARCY has still found the time to make music. For instance, today, he dropped off “Sword,” a thought-provoking politically-charged track that features redveil. This song contains somber yet uplifting production that has gorgeous strings throughout. The music matches the images of the music video perfectly, as we see numerous people trying to live their daily lives in a war-torn area. The lyrics speak about war crimes and the destruction happening in the Middle East. The Israel-Palestine situation is one that has been devastating for decades, and it is weighing heavily on the minds of many artists. NARCY does a fantastic job of navigating the conflict, calling out injustice and showing the world that this isn’t right.

Let us know what you think about this track, in the comments section down below. Have you listened to NARCY’s music in the past? What are some of your favorite songs and projects from the MC? Loe Shimmy And Cash Cobain Turn Up The Heat On “Confession” Single

Loe Shimmy makes mellow music. He’s not for the clubs, he’s for late night drives and headphones. He provides listeners with subtle, melody-driven hip hop. The notion of him linking up with Cash Cobain was not a slam dunk on paper, given that Cobain has made his name with snappier, more dance-friendly hits. Fortunately, the combination worked out wonderfully. Loe Shimmy and Cash Cobain joined forces on the new single “Confession,” which manages to cater to the strengths of both artists.

The Cash Cobain stimulus package is in full effect here. The snaps, and the producer tag are heard at the top of the song, but “Confession” is a bit different. It’s glitchy, but it’s also slower, and more subdued than most of Cobain’s biggest hits. The change works. Loe Shimmy finds a pocket during the first verse, slipping effortlessly into the beat with his catchy delivery. Cobain has a different approach when he picks up the song during the second half, but the switch up works to the song’s advantage. Loe Shimmy and Cash Cobain sound wildly different on record, and it’s these sonic disparities that make “Confession” a compelling listen, ultimately.
