Nigerian Producer Kel-P Delivers “One More Night” Single

The latest producer to prove he’s got some serious vocal chops is none other than Nigeria’s Kel-P. The Grammy Award-winning creative markedly makes his debut today (January 20) with his “One More Night” single and its accompanying music video.

The track flips Nelly and Kelly Rowland’s 2002 hit, “Dilemma” to create an island vibe, perfect for the upcoming summer months. “As soon as I heard the sample, I started recording on the beat ASAP,” Kel explains in a press release. “I was so inspired. To me, it felt fresh. Everyone can dance to it because it’s dope, beautiful, and unique.”

Ahead of the song’s premiere, the Lagos native specifically dedicated it to a select group of women. “Some girls just naturally have it,” he explained while revealing the cover art.

“The hustle, ambition, beauty, brains, body, and demeanour. I’m saying all this because my first single is dedicated to y’all ladies who make us fellas want ‘One More Night’ and forever together.”

In the official visual, we see the producer-turned-singer enjoying a night out in Los Angeles. Whether he’s dancing with beautiful women or riding down the freeway waving out the window, Kel-P’s vibes are obviously on point.

Celebrating the track’s release on Instagram, he wrote, “Time to separate the boys from men! I’m done being humble. Shout out to everyone who believes in me.”

When explaining his recent career transition, P had a lot to say. “While I was producing for all of these other artists, I was learning. I’ve always wanted to drop my own project, but I was working on myself throughout the whole time. Now, I’m heading into this new artist journey, and I have a lot to show the world.”

The Kid LAROI Shares New Single “I Can’t Go Back To The Way It Was”

The Kid LAROI just dropped his newest single, “I Can’t Go Back To The Way It Was.” Moreover, it follows previous tracks like “Thousand Miles,” though it’s unclear whether this most recent single will appear on his next album. Given that it’s subtitled “(Intro),” some fans believe that this single will open up the Australian artist’s next move.

However, the 19-year-old stated that this new song is not the first single off the new album. Furthermore, his fanbase interpreted this message a couple different ways. First, there’s the possibility that “Thousand Miles” will appear on the new album, reportedly titled THE FIRST TIME. Then, some fans assumed that it just wouldn’t appear on the album at all.

Still, perhaps the most interesting theory relates to one of his unreleased demos, “Love Again,” which made rounds on social media. Given the announcement that the previously leaked song will drop next Friday (January 27), many believe that the leak was the true “first single.” Even with all these theories floating around, “The Way It Was” is enough to keep fans hungry for even more.

Moreover, this new single is quite short, clocking in at just one minute and 37 seconds. Despite its brevity, the track feels grandiose, dramatic, and like it’s heralding in something greater. After all, it is an “intro.” Over choral harmonies, a stark drum beat, and watery synth pads, LAROI floats with ease. However, lyrically, he dives into his past, his forward momentum, and what it took to get him to this point.

What did you think of The Kid LAROI’s new single, “I Can’t Go Back To The Way It Was”? Whatever the case, let us know in the comments and peep some standout lyrics down below. Also, if you haven’t heard the track yet, you can find it on your preferred streaming service, plus peep the video on YouTube. As always, log back into HNHH for the best new music each week.

Pries Releases Passionate New Single, “Stoop Kid”

Denver artist Pries is back with a new single “Stoop Kid,” ahead of his upcoming album GameCast. The track is as impassioned as it is peaceful, with rapid flows contrasting an airy instrumental. Moreover, it reflects his sharpened skills, which he showcased on the 20-track album Beautifully Depressed in February of 2021.

Furthermore, “Stoop Kid” sees the rapper and singer in a motivated but slightly melancholy state of mind. That reflective quality comes through thanks to the instrumental, which features some high-pitched and atmospheric vocal samples. With a soft acoustic guitar riffing in the background, a dreamless version of this track would sound like absolute bliss. Moreover, the Denver MC’s sung harmonies further into the track cap the song off with a lot of emotion.

However, there are some elements in the track that contrast the breezy melodies in the track. For one, there’s the sharp and busy drum pattern that runs through “Stoop Kid.” It might feel slightly jarring at first, but it keeps the track energized and dynamic. Moreover, it sets up a compelling performance from Pries to spit some interesting bars.

While the track’s instrumental is hopeful, Pries’ verses go through a lot of his hardships. Moreover, he discusses hustling in multiple ways. Whether it’s getting a crib for his family, working hard to get paid, or roaming the streets for a way out, his story feels compelling. What’s more is that it feels earnest, delivered with a lot of conviction and focus. On the flow end of things, the Denver rapper never breaks his streak and keeps up an engaging energy.

What did you think of Pries’ latest track, “Stoop Kid”? Whatever the case, let us know in the comments and check out some notable lines from the track down below. NLE Choppa Returns With New Song “23”

Memphis hitmaker NLE Choppa is back with his new single “23,” a measured banger that looks to the future. Moreover, previous singles like “Do It Again” with 2Rare also built up hype for the rapper’s sophomore album coming this spring, reportedly titled Cottonwood 2. On this new track, the 20-year-old flows easily over a dramatic and hard-hitting beat about his goals for the new year.

Furthermore, the “Ice Spice” MC told listeners that they can expect new things from him with this track. “Sent a hit off of Discord, it’s 2023,” he raps on the chorus, “New year, new me, it’s 2023.” After a slew of other successful singles and charity efforts, his 2022 was already prolific. For example, he’s readying up for his next project through the NLE Reading Challenge, which he’s promoting to empower impoverished youth. Also, he announced pop-up appearances on his This Can’t Be Vegan Food truck to promote healthier eating habits. He’ll document and share his travels on his YouTube channel.

Back to this new track, though, you wouldn’t guess Choppa’s good-hearted efforts. Moreover, the beat here is quite murderous, with dramatic string sections and atmospheric ad-libs backed by sharp and impactful drums. Given his fast and varied flows on the track, it makes for a very dynamic listen. “The old shit ain’t goin’ forward, this a newer me,” he raps. “Probably knew me last year, but you don’t know me.”

Moreover, the “Shotta Flow” artist left quite a few things behind in 2022. His public break-up with his then-girlfriend Marissa Da’Nae caused a stir online for their back-and-forth. However, it seems things cooled off since then, and the conversation is back to his next artistic moves.

Still, what did you think of NLE Choppa’s new single, “23”? Whatever the case, let us know in the comments and check out some standout bars down below. Also, if you haven’t heard it yet, you can find the single on your preferred streaming service and its music video on YouTube. As always, check back in with HNHH for the best new music each week.

Headie One Makes It Back To “Martin’s Sofa” On New Single

Headie One reminisces of the struggle on his highly-anticipated new single, “Martin’s Sofa.”

As fans anticipate his sophomore album, the UK drill rapper set the tone for the new year with his latest single. “Martin’s Sofa” finds Headie tackling sleek production from M1OnTheBeat, who samples Jeni Suk’s rendition of “Wildfire” by SBTRKT.” It’s the same talent as the one used on Flatbush Zombies’ “Palm Trees.”

The soothing vocal sample turns into a blank canvas as Headie One reflects on the struggles he faced before the fame. Additionally, he reflects on returning to that dark place in his life if the fame is gone.

As told by Complex, “Martin’s Sofa” is an homage to an old friend who lent his couch the rapper when he fell on hard times. Prior to Christmas, the “Rose Gold” rapper linked up with Martin to briefly check in and say thank you. However, he also bought Martin a new couch afterward.

The music video for “Martin’s Sofa” shows the UK drill rapper shows the rapper reimagining his days in the trap and struggling to make ends meet. Martin also makes a cameo in the Nathan Tetty-directed visual.

Headie previously hinted at “Martin’s Sofa” on his previous single, “50s.” On the song, he suggested that his new release would mark the first single from his second album. Per a press release, his follow-up to Edna is due out this year.

Shady Blu & Babyface Ray Are The “Topic Of Discussion” In New Song

2023 is still in its early stages, but it’s already exciting to see new artists come up in the scene. California-based artist Shady Blu just dropped “Topic of Discussion” with Babyface Ray, after last year’s breakout single “Jealousy.” Moreover, she delivered a confident and uniquely animated performance over a glistening beat.

Back in 2021, Blu signed to MixedByAli’s label NoName Recordings, in partnership with Interscope. While she’s just getting started in the industry, Ali heard her music and has worked with her a lot since then. Moreover, some of his most notable credits include ScHoolboy Q, Kendrick Lamar, and Nipsey Hussle. What’s more is that West Coast legend Snoop Dogg gave Blu a cosign just about a week ago.

Given all that, Shady is a name to watch out for in the coming months, if not years given her already-impressive output. Moreover on this track, she switches effortlessly from low-key, hushed deliveries and expressive, warmly vocal runs. Alongside one of Detroit’s most exciting spitters working today, she keeps up that energy with ease.

Furthermore, the Long Beach native will drop her debut EP Topic of Discussion on February 6th. Moreover, the project is executive produced by MixedByAli and will feature compelling blends of hip-hop and R&B. Even with this one track, that description seems fitting. “Topic of Discussion” features a sharp but quick rhythm that contrasts engagingly with the shimmery, bright keys in the background. Even though the beat is slightly odd given that contrast, Blu’s expressive vocals blend with it to create something charming.

Still, what did you think of “Topic of Discussion” from Shady Blu and Babyface Ray? Whatever the case, let us know in the comments and peep some quotable lines down below. J. Cole Drops New Song “Procrastination (Broke)” On Producer’s YouTube Channel

If you’re a type-beat producer hustling on YouTube, then one of the greatest rappers right now wants you to keep that hustle going. Surprisingly, J. Cole just dropped a new song called “Procrastination (Broke)” exclusively on YouTube. Moreover, it’s on producer Bvtman’s channel, who made a J. Cole type beat that the veteran MC found inspiration in. According to J. Cole’s message to the producer, he found the beat when looking for inspiration.

“On a day when I couldn’t find much motivation,” the “my life” rapper wrote, “I was looking for anything to inspire me. Out of curiosity, I typed in ‘J. Cole type beat’ into YouTube. Yours was the first I saw. I pressed play, focused, and wrote this.”

Furthermore, the track is laidback, woozy, yet introspective and pristine in a way J. Cole does best. Still, over looping and reverb-heavy guitars, a breezy drum pattern injects a lot of soul into the song. Unsurprisingly, Cole flows with ease over the calm instrumental and delivers a slightly melancholy, but ultimately inspirational verse. While he sounds downtrodden, he wants to inspire others to keep searching for their truth through music.

“This song should live on your channel and serve as a thank you to you and every producer out there cooking up and sharing their work with the world,” he wrote to Batman. “It’s a million artists out there right now just like me, hungry and searching every day for something to spark a word, a melody, a hook, a verse, a punchline, a way to vent, or a way to CUT THROUGH.

“This is some s**t that would normally stay in the vault,” he continued, “but I don’t want to hold onto the music like that no more. This is for you and whoever else need to hear it. God bless bro and keep doing what you do!”

Also, the producer was very thankful to the North Carolina MC in the video’s description.

“Much love and appreciation to this right here & J Cole,” they wrote. “More life. Bless. One Love. – Bvtman.”

Still, what did you think of J. Cole’s latest song “Procrastination (Broke),” where he raps over his own type beat? Regardless, let us know in the comments and peep some notable lines from the song down below. Also, if you haven’t hear the track yet, check it out on producer Bvtman’s YouTube channel below and check out his other work. As always, stay tuned to HNHH for the best new music releases each week, and maybe one day your type beat will be on here, too.

Kelela explained her new song at length in a statement. She explained her new song intends to encapsulate a night out, from the pre-drink to leaving the club at the end of the night.

“‘Contact’ has a little bit of something for every part of the night. It’s a soundtrack for ‘pre-gaming’ (a song to play as you’re getting ready or on your way to the club),” she said in a statement. “It’s also the interior club experience: the heat that envelops you when you walk into a packed rave. All this culminates in a very naughty, psychedelic moment in the back of the club with a lover.”

Kelela released her last project, Take Me Apart in 2017. Though she released a remix project a year later, Kelela broke her five-year hiatus in September with the release of “Washed Away.” Since then, she also released singles such as “Happy Ending” and “On The Run.”

Kelela’s forthcoming album, Raven drops on Feb. 10th. Following its release, she’ll embark on the RAVE:N Tour.

4L JAVI Kicks Off 2023 With New Song, “Models”

4L JAVI is fresh off of the most successful year of his career thus far in 2022. The California native effortlessly blends rapping and singing styles to create his own unique sound.

He is evidently looking to carry this momentum into 2023 with the release of his brand new single, “Models.” The track’s runtime is less than two minutes. However, JAVI really doesn’t need much time to demand your attention.

Throughout the song, the California native flexes the perks of his lifestyle, while simultaneously acknowledging his player ways. “This a close friends party, b*tches look like Barbies / I’m comin’ tardy off the ropes, Jeff Hardy / I’ve never been the same since the first time I heard you scream my name / Since the first time, I had to take the blame,” he sings in his first verse.

Just two weeks ago, he also made an appearance on UPROXX Sessions to perform his hit song, “Playboy.” Over the twinkling piano melody, he effortlessly flows with melodies and drops some fun references. “Making plays in this b*tch like Ricky Rubio / I was boxin’ the garage, just like Julio / Retail therapy, I don’t need a therapist / I guess it’s probably time, I’m actin’ arrogant,” he exclaims.

Last year, he dropped the 13-track Letters 2 U. With its arrival in June, it served as the perfect soundtrack for 2022’s summer vibes. The up-and-comer‘s debut mixtape, 4 L, is only three years old, officially arriving in July of 2019.

Make sure to stream 4L JAVI’s “Models” on either Spotify or SoundCloud down below. Comment your thoughts afterwards. Finally, stay tuned to HNHH for all of the latest releases and updates.
