Fridayy’s Debut Self-Titled Album Is Here Featuring Chris Brown, Fireboy DML, And More

Music lovers were disappointed when Drake failed to deliver For All The Dogs to us at midnight on Friday (August 25). Even with that letdown, the industry still turned out plenty of exciting new releases, including a debut LP from rising R&B sensation Fridayy. The singer shared 14 songs with us on his self-titled effort, including the previously released “Don’t Give It Away” with Chris Brown and “When It Comes To You.”

Besides the Breezy collaboration, Fridayy also linked up with a selection of other artists throughout his tracklist. He opens with “Came Too Far” featuring Maverick City Music and My Mom. That joint effort is immediately followed by Adekunle Gold’s appearance on “Done For Me.” The Philadelphia-born creative held his own on several other titles before teaming up with Fireboy DML on “You,” and Byron Messia on “Mercy.”

Fridayy’s Debut Album Accompanied By “Stand By Me” Visual

Along with the album’s arrival on DSPs, the “GOD DID” collaborator also shared a new visual for “Stand By Me,” the project’s third song. It finds him singing alongside striking employees and perfectly captures the energy fluctuating around the entertainment industry at this time. “If I say I’m standing for you / You know that I’m ‘a standing ten toes,” the 26-year-old sings of his own loyalty.

Akon Comes Through With New EP, “Afro Freak”

Akon is a legend of the music world at this point. Overall, the man saw a lot of success during the 2000s. It was during this time that he made a plethora of chart-topping hits. Songs like “Smack That” and “Locked Up” are iconic at this point. Moreover, he has become an entrepreneur who wants to do big things. While taking a break from music, the artist was able to do some charitable work in Africa. He brought electricity to numerous towns, and he was responsible for some great initiatives.

Additionally, the artist also worked on creating a whole new city. The city would be named after himself, although it did eventually hit a few snags. Either way, he has been very busy as of late. He even got to do some interviews that eventually went viral. Of course, how can you forget his appearance on Drink Champs where he was dripped out in some fake Dior? Now, Akon is back with some music. Below, you can find his latest project, an 8-track EP simply titled Afro Freak.

The project is fairly short and contains quite a few remixes. However, the production here sounds great and Akon’s voice remains iconic. While it may not be for everyone, those who like this particular style, will most definitely appreciate it. There’s no doubt that Akon still has it after all of these years.

Cardi B Shares Newest Update On Her New Album

Cardi B’s massively successful debut album Invasion Of Privacy was released 5 years ago in 2018 and has yet to receive a follow-up. While she’s teased fans occasionally about releasing a follow-up, it’s been a while since she really touched on the idea of a forthcoming project. That streak was broken by a new interview in Vogue Mexico. In the interview, she gives details on when fans can expect both a new single from her, and eventually a new album.

“I’m not going to release any more collaborations, I’m going to put out my next solo single. Right now I’m working on the cover art and ideas for the next record because it’s definitely coming up,” Cardi B explained. She further elaborated on when the plans will be set in motion and clarified that once her new era starts it will unfold in rapid-fire fashion. So stay tuned because it’s coming out very soon,’ she assures. I also have plans in the world of cinema. In fact, I have plans to do everything I can: fashion, branding, I want to do it all, honey.”

While Cardi B hasn’t released a new album in years she hasn’t been quiet. In the meantime, she’s released a number of major hit singles including “WAP,” “Press,” “Up,” and “Money.” This year, she’s jumped on a number of other rappers’ songs as a feature. She joined Latto on the song “Put It On Da Floor Again.” The song immediately soared into the top 20 of the Hot 100. She also teamed up with FendiDa Rapper for a hard-hitting and sexually charged single called “Point Me 2.”

Back in July, Cardi teamed up with her husband Offset for a new collaborative single called “JEALOUSY.” The song played into public perception of the couple following many years in the limelight. But now that the project’s done, I can sit back and be like, ‘Yes, I think it’s better than Jaguar.’”
