Loe Shimmy Is Sipping The “Wok & Lemonade” On His New Song

We discuss a lot of Florida rappers here at HNHH because there are so many of them that are on the rise. Names like BLP Kosher, Luh Tyler, SCY Jimmy, and plenty of others are bubbling up to the top of the East Coast heap. One of those names we do not get to talk about a whole lot is Loe Shimmy. He was actually on Tyler’s debut album, My Vision. You can find him on the laid-back cut “Santa.”

However, while Loe has gone on to drop some singles and features, he has not dropped his own project this year. His first feature came all the way back in February. He joined up with Goldenboy Countup on the song “Forever.” He has also gone on to work with Wizz Havinn, C Stunna, 6kfly, and plenty of others.

Over the past three singles, though, they have all been solo tracks. The same remains true here with his latest effort, “Wok & Lemonade.” The beat is very cruise-worthy and Shimmy finds himself right at home on it. He has a similar mumbly and raspy flow to Tyler and some of the other rappers from the area. Give it a listen up above with the music video for it.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand new track from Loe Shimmy, “Wok & Lemonade?” Is he your favorite rapper from Florida? Which songs do you like the most from Shimmy? Omar Apollo Drops A Heavenly EP With “Live For Me”

If you are looking to get into artists like Daniel Caesar, SZA, Kali Uchis, and others, you have to check out Omar Apollo. While he does not have the mass appeal of those aforementioned singers, he has a stunning voice. On top of that, he possesses a great ear for production. Combine both of those qualities and you have yourself a terrific do-it-all musician. Omar is finally back after a year-long bridge between his last project. That would happen to be his album, Ivory. He tapped, you guessed it, Daniel Caesar and Kali Uchis as his only two guests.

Ironically, though, Apollo was not really inspired by these artists. He drew from a wide pool including names like Prince, Alicia Keys, and Sly And The Family Stone. Omar’s name has been blowing up recently, too. He opened for SZA during her SOS Tour and appeared on the latest Caesar project, NEVER ENOUGH. Based on all of the names we listed, he pulls from plenty of sounds to make him sound unique. The Indiana-born singer dabbles in genres of alternative R&B, pop, soul, bedroom pop, and more.

Tee Grizzley Teams Up With Finesse2tymes For The First Time On “Grizzley 2Tymes”

Detroit rapper Tee Grizzley gains a lot of respect from his fans for a number of reasons. One of them is because he knows how to make music based on personal experiences that have helped him grow over time. The most well-known example of this is his first hit song “First Day Out.” It was a track that progressively got more popular. It started to win a lot of listeners over for a couple of reasons. For starters, it begins with the iconic spoken word bit in the first verse.

Then, the beat drop came in and Grizzley absolutely murdered the second half. His lyrics about his three years behind bars resonated with many and it has helped propel Grizzley to where he is now. Another track that could become another major success is “Grizzley 2Tymes.” This cut features one of the newest faces to rap, Finesse2tymes.

ATL Jacob Shows He His A Dual Threat With “MF Problem”

Atlanta, Georgia might be the most important city for hip-hop. Especially, with the current state that the genre is in, it is hard to imagine any other area that is more vital to its success. One of the reasons for that is of course due to the tremendous amount of talented rappers that herald from there. On top of that, the city boasts some of the hottest producers as well. The biggest fish in the pond is undoubtedly Metro Boomin right now. However, there could be another name that could someday be remembered as the best trap producer. That is none other than ATL Jacob.

While he does not have the most recognition right now from casual listeners, Jacob is gaining a ton of respect from hip-hop’s finest. One of his most frequent collaborators as of late has been Future. That is a huge deal considering that many call him the G.O.A.T of trap music. Jacon had tons of production credits on his last tape I NEVER LIKED YOU. Some of the best cuts from that album, “HOLY GHOST” and “KEEP IT BURNIN” with Kanye West, are provided by ATL.

Fredo Bang And NLE Choppa Bring An Undeniable Groove On “Sideways”

Fredo Bang has been one of the most consistent rappers of 2023. What we mean by consistent in this situation is the amount of material that has been dropped. The quality of the material is up for debate, but there is no denying that the Louisiana product is always ready to please his fans. Prior to the release of this latest single, “Sideways,” Fredo has put out 11 other singles. Those include releases under his name or as a feature.

On top of that, Fredo dropped a six-track EP titled Ape Talk. There were a couple of features on it from Kevin Gates and B.O.G. Vonnie. One of his most interesting singles this year has to be “Bang Man.” The rapper is oozing all sorts of confidence on it. He continues to thirst over GloRilla saying, “I love my b*****s, still wan’ f*** GloRilla cause I’m toxic.” Now, he is back with a sexually charged track, “Sideways.”
