Nines Adds Third Installment To “Crop Circles” Series

Harlesden, London, United Kingdom rapper Nines is one of the more prolific acts in the space. Since 2012, he has gone on to release eight projects, and one stand-alone series. His trademark collection of albums is Crop Circle. It started back on April 20, 2018, with a 16-song offering. Some of his most frequent collaborators appear in the first title, including Tiggs Da Author, Trapstar Toxic, and more.

The second entry would not come out until April 28, 2023. Yes, a whole five years of waiting, but Nines would resurrect the series. More of the same features here with Skrapz, Tiggs, but also J Styles, and Potter Payper would make their way onto it. Now, Nines is waiting no time.

Slauson Malone 1 Returns After 3 Years With “EXCELSIOR”

Los Angeles, California artist Slauson Malone 1 is back after quite a long musical break. In fact, it has been three years since the release of his sophomore release of Vergangenheitsbewältigung (Crater Speak). His music ranges from abstract, left-field hip-hop, psychedelic soul, dub, and modern composition, according to his Apple Music profile. This is also the first time we have covered Malone’s music, so let us give you a little bit of background information first.

There is not a lot of information on Slauson, however, he was born Jasper Marsalis on December 26, 1995. According to The Quietus, this new album, EXCELSIOR, “is an album made up of varying sketches; a collection of personal essays that provide an insight into specific lived experiences. The title of the album itself is a reference to continuous growth, Slauson Malone 1 turning the lens on himself to allow a rare look into an ever-changing and mutating exploration of self.”

The description continues, “It’s purposely chaotic and skeletal in places, but when the disjointed pieces are viewed as one, you get an album that is a fascinating and hypnotic listen.” It certainly is hypnotic right from the start with the intro track, “The Weather.” There were a few lead singles to the record. Those were “Voyager,” “New Joy,” and “Half-Life.” If you are looking to diversify your playlist and try something new, Malone’s album is worth a try.

Meechy Darko Gives Fans A Two-Pack With “360° Resurrection “Tab #2″”

Probably the most distinctive voice out of the Flatbush Zombies group is Meechy Darko. That is saying a lot, considering how unique this collection of rappers is. All three members have a solo career on top of their collaborative discography. Meechy is the second most recent of the trio to drop a solo project. His came out in 2022 and it was titled, Gothic Luxury.

However, it appears to be that the growly-voiced rapper is prepping another hot set of tracks. According to Genius’ annotation, this new two-pack is going to appear on a project called, Doses. Darko gave a hint about this title in an Instagram post from September 27. “No Wild roll out or non of thattt… Just some Music 4 The Fans Dem & Next week Imma drop 2 Songs Week after that…3 Songs.” He continues to tease, “Plus Yall Gonna need Somethin’ To listen to Until Album 2 is Done. But Yall gonna get these Doses Till Then.”

We just got the second and third doses of the upcoming project with some unique song titles. “360° Resurrection “Tab #2″,” and “That I Could Live Wit “Tab # 8,” are the newest tasters. Loe Shimmy Is Sipping The “Wok & Lemonade” On His New Song

We discuss a lot of Florida rappers here at HNHH because there are so many of them that are on the rise. Names like BLP Kosher, Luh Tyler, SCY Jimmy, and plenty of others are bubbling up to the top of the East Coast heap. One of those names we do not get to talk about a whole lot is Loe Shimmy. He was actually on Tyler’s debut album, My Vision. You can find him on the laid-back cut “Santa.”

However, while Loe has gone on to drop some singles and features, he has not dropped his own project this year. His first feature came all the way back in February. He joined up with Goldenboy Countup on the song “Forever.” He has also gone on to work with Wizz Havinn, C Stunna, 6kfly, and plenty of others.

Over the past three singles, though, they have all been solo tracks. The same remains true here with his latest effort, “Wok & Lemonade.” The beat is very cruise-worthy and Shimmy finds himself right at home on it. Omar Apollo Drops A Heavenly EP With “Live For Me”

If you are looking to get into artists like Daniel Caesar, SZA, Kali Uchis, and others, you have to check out Omar Apollo. While he does not have the mass appeal of those aforementioned singers, he has a stunning voice. On top of that, he possesses a great ear for production. Combine both of those qualities and you have yourself a terrific do-it-all musician. Omar is finally back after a year-long bridge between his last project. That would happen to be his album, Ivory. He tapped, you guessed it, Daniel Caesar and Kali Uchis as his only two guests.

Ironically, though, Apollo was not really inspired by these artists. He drew from a wide pool including names like Prince, Alicia Keys, and Sly And The Family Stone. Omar’s name has been blowing up recently, too. He opened for SZA during her SOS Tour and appeared on the latest Caesar project, NEVER ENOUGH. Based on all of the names we listed, he pulls from plenty of sounds to make him sound unique. The Indiana-born singer dabbles in genres of alternative R&B, pop, soul, bedroom pop, and more.

On this latest EP, Live For Me, Apollo goes into his bedroom pop and alternative R&B side. It is a tight four tracks and runs just under 16 minutes. What is even better is that all of the songs here are terrific and sound different. He utilizes a touch of autotune on some of the vocals as well. This a easy-breezy listen that will have you in your feels and floating at the same time.

Pitbull Returns After A Four-Year Hiatus With “Trackhouse”

One of the biggest artists in the world is back after quite a long break. He is one of the most influential singers in the Latin music space. Mr. Worldwide’s newest effort, Trackhouse, is out now on all of your favorite streaming platforms. Pitbull began the rollout for this project back in early March with the song, “Mami.” From that point on, he put out six more lead singles. In fact, some were released up until the LP’s release date on October 6.

ATL Jacob Shows He His A Dual Threat With “MF Problem”

That is none other than ATL Jacob.

While he does not have the most recognition right now from casual listeners, Jacob is gaining a ton of respect from hip-hop’s finest. One of his most frequent collaborators as of late has been Future. That is a huge deal considering that many call him the G.O.A.T of trap music. Jacon had tons of production credits on his last tape I NEVER LIKED YOU. Some of the best cuts from that album, “HOLY GHOST” and “KEEP IT BURNIN” with Kanye West, are provided by ATL.
