Kanye West Asked Nicki Minaj To Clear A ‘Vultures’ Song, Minutes Before He Was Supposed To Release The Album, And She Said No

As of this post, it’s nearly 8 a.m. ET, and Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign have not yet released their collaborative album Vultures, which was expected to drop at midnight ET. Given West’s history of album delays and working on projects until the last possible second, this isn’t particularly surprising. This isn’t even the first time Vultures has faced a delay, as it was reportedly once set to drop on October 13.

As for why the album isn’t out yet, it looks like West was trying to cross some T’s and dot some I’s before the final buzzer.

At 10:23 p.m. ET last night (December 14), 97 minutes before the album was presumably set for a midnight release, West tweeted a screenshot of a text he supposedly sent to Nicki Minaj, which read, “Hi it’s ye. May I call you about clearing new body on the new album.”

As NME notes, Minaj gave Kanye’s request a public “no.” During an Instagram Live broadcast last night, she said, “Child, that train has left the station, OK? No disrespect in any way. I just put out a brand new album. Now why would I put out a song that has been out for three years? Come on, guys. You know?”

In a February 2022 interview, Minaj said of “New Body,” a demo of which leaked back in 2018, “The public adored ‘New Body.’ ‘New Body’ is the biggest hit record that never came out. So what I thought was interesting was that Kanye made me write my ‘New Body’ verse four times over in order to fit into where he was creatively and spiritually in his life. […] I missed it by a year, I guess. Had ‘New Body’ been out when he was not in his gospel era, then it would’ve seen the light of day. But, it didn’t, so it wasn’t meant to be. Everybody knows that’s the hit that got away. […] I think the ship has sailed for ‘New Body,’ everybody has come to love the original way they heard it.”

All that said, it is still December 15 right now, so West and Ty still have well over half a day to get everything in order and release Vultures before the weekend if that’s something they’re committed to doing.

Nicki Minaj Refuses To Clear “New Body” Verse For Kanye West

It looks like we might end up waiting a while for the long-awaited arrival of Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign’s Vultures, especially since people, such as Nicki Minaj, only received notifications about clearing samples and verses last night. If you recall, a song called “New Body” emerged during the now-scrapped Yandhi era. Ye and Nicki came through with easily one of their best collaborations since “Monster,” though it required several rewrites. And while Nicki, at one point, urged Ye to release the song in its entirety, she doesn’t seem too keen on dropping the record right now.

A screenshot of an incredibly polite text message from Ye to Nicki surfaced online, reading, “Hi it’s ye… May I call you about clearing new body on my album.” The clock was ticking ahead of the album’s supposed release, even though the pre-save on Apple Music disappeared hours before Vultures was scheduled to drop on DSPs. Additionally, Ye already previewed the song earlier in the week during the Vultures rave in Miami, so naturally, fans have been under the impression that there would be an official release.

Unfortunately, that might not be the case. Nicki later hopped on Instagram Live where she got a few things off of her chest, including the issues with Ye over the song. According to her, it’s a little too late to be releasing a song they recorded years ago. “Now regarding Kanye, chile, that train has left the station,” she said. “Okay, no disrespect in anyway. I just put out a brand-new album. Why would I put out a song that’s been out for three years? C’mon guys.”

So, it looks like we, unfortunately, won’t be hearing “New Body” in its entirety when Kanye and Ty Dolla $ign release, Vultures. However, Thursday night’s listening party seemingly unveiled a new tracklist entirely with even more features including Lil Wayne, Future, and Playboi Carti. On the topic of Carti, Ye also contributed production to the Atlanta rapper’s new single, “2024.” Check out Nicki’s response above.

Kanye West & Ty Dolla Sign’s Album Tracklist Is Here & It Includes “New Body”

Kanye West and Ty Dolla Sign’s album has been a hot topic amongst hip-hop heads for weeks now, and finally, they’re sharing the tracklist with fans. On Friday (December 8), the latter’s Instagram profile lit up with a post naming 18 titles, though no features are on it. It’s possible that those come out later, or they may be a surprise for the LP’s debut.

We’ve already heard what the musical duo’s been brewing up on their “Vultures” single with Bump J and Lil Durk, and needless to say that created plenty of controversy. Ye continues to face backlash from the Jewish community, who feel his lyrics about sleeping with a woman of their religion are disrespectful and distasteful, among other things. Nevertheless, the father of four is progressing with his project rollout and is seemingly determined to make it one of the best yet.

The first title on Ty Dolla and West’s joint project is “Everybody,” followed by “Back To Me,” “Fuk Sumn,” and “Time Moving Slow.” After that comes “Beg Forgiveness,” “So Good,” “Paid,” “Timbo Freestyle,” and “Slide.” Much to the internet’s pleasure, the famous unreleased Nicki Minaj collab, “New Body” made the cut as well, along with tracks like “Promotion,” “Lifestyle,” “Drunk,” “Worship,” River,” “Gun To My Head,” and “Unlock.” The Queen of Rap didn’t tap her longtime friend to appear on her Pink Friday 2 album this weekend, though she did playfully reference it in one of her verses.

Kanye West has been keeping busy in Dubai, but despite his countless hours spent in the studio, he still has time to step out in style with his wife, Bianca Censori. The Australian beauty was turning heads at the mall in her fluffy Balenciaga heels earlier this week, and we’ll likely see more wild looks as we get closer to the arrival of his album with Ty Dolla. Ty Dolla $ign Teases Kanye West & Nicki Minaj Collab With Fresh Version Of “New Body”

Ty Dolla $ign is one of the most beloved artists in the r&b space. Although he is mostly praised for his features, he can definitely carry an album on his own. If you have been paying attention, you know that the artist has been spending a lot of time in Italy. He is currently there with Kanye West, where they are working on a new album. Overall, this is a very exciting prospect and it seems like Ye is ready to preview his album, soon. Kanye’s album rollouts are always a thrill ride, so we will see how this goes.

As for Ty Dolla $ign, you can expect him to be on a fair bit of songs from the project. However, as it pertains to Ty, there is one song that fans are desperate to hear. This song has been circulating for half a decade at this point and is called “New Body.” The track also features Kanye West and Nicki Minaj. It was supposed to be on the scrapped album Yandhi, and since being previewed online, it has yet to officially drop. Sure, a music video for it came out recently, but that is about it. Now, however, Ty is previewing new versions of the track.

According to HipHopDX, the singer showed off the track in Switzerland last month. Just a few days ago, Ty Dolla was at a club in Italy, and he previewed this freshened-up version, yet again. As Nicki has explained previously, this song never dropped due to Kanye’s pivot towards religious music. While he has since gone back to making secular tracks, “New Body” has yet to be officially revived. Only time will tell whether or not it ends up making its way to his new album.

Kanye West & Nicki Minaj’s Scrapped “New Body” Music Video Surfaces Online

The music video for “New Body”, an unreleased track by Kanye featuring Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla Sign, has surfaced online. The nearly four-minute video is a trippy collection of neon visuals. The video is meant to accompany the song’s original message about body shaming and cosmetic surgery stigma. “New Body” was originally meant to appear on the unreleased Yandhi. However, it was reworked into a Christian track for Jesus Is King. However, creative differences between Kanye and Minaj meant that the song was left off the album. Ty Dolla Sign implied on his track “Status” in 2020 that Kanye refused to release the song because it was “generic shit”.

The song has circulated online since 2019 but this is the first time that the music video has been publicly available. This may speak to Minaj’s intentions to try and get the song included on her upcoming album, Pink Friday 2. Minaj has spoken about trying to get “New Body” released since at least 2020, with the intention becoming to include it on Pink Friday 2 when she first began to hint at the album in 2022. It remains to be seen if the song will ever get the official release that Minaj so clear wants for it.

Debates about “New Body” aside, there is a decent amount we do know about Pink Friday 2. Minaj has released two singles that are confirmed for the album. “Super Freaky Girl”, which also went viral on TikTok, debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. In doing so, it made Nicki the first solo female rapper to debut at #1 since 1998. Meanwhile, “Last Time I Saw You” peaked at #23 on the mainstream charts. However, Minaj also performed the song at the 2023 VMAs. Furthermore, Nicki also released the promotional single, “Ruby Red Da Sleaze”, which peaked at #13. Later, Minaj would indicate its inclusion on the album.

Furthermore, the cover art shows a chicly-dressed Minaj vibing in a pink subway car flying above the New York skyline. However, a tracklist and any potential featured artists are yet to be announced. Despite this, fans will have to wait another month or so. Pink Friday 2 is set to be released on November 17.

After hanging out with Lil Wayne and other rappers in the early days of her career, she felt pressure to get butt injections in order to keep up with the women they were bringing around and praising. Minaj is clearly very confident in herself and has been candid about her history of cosmetic procedures. Rather than continuing to amp up her voluptuous figure, this weekend she seemingly revealed that she underwent a breast reduction.

As @theshaderoom reports, the “Moment 4 Life” artist expressed a desire to make her chest smaller after recovering from the birth of Papa Bear nearly three years ago. “I should’ve took them off then,” Minaj reflected during an Instagram Live session in 2022, revealing advice she got to get the surgery a while back from another woman in the industry. “Is you ready for that?” her friend asked. “Yes! A-cup season,” the Trinidadian joked, obviously desperate to get some weight off of her chest.

On Saturday (April 1), Chyna – who’s now going by her birth name, Angela White – shared a video promoting her luxury hair extensions brand. In the clip, the model shows off various looks for the camera, one of which finds her posing topless, with little more than gold paint covering her body.
