With new rappers and artists adjacent to the genre every day, everyone is trying to do what they can to make themselves stand out. One name that has been able to do that recently is UnoTime. He hails from Valley Stream, New York and has been releasing music to streaming since 2021. Which is why him gaining some buzz online is all the more impressive. This also our first time discussing any of his material and what better time to do it than on his debut project. LUXURIOUS DAMAGE is the first-ever tape from UnoTime and it comes in the form of an EP.
It is a collection of seven songs with zero features, so Uno is definitely taking a big step in his short career. Additionally, he has only be a feature on four smaller artists projects, making this an even bigger deal. However, UnoTime certainly performs with confidence and a lot of energy on LUXURIOUS DAMAGE. Based on what we hear, he has similar vibes to a KILLY, for example.
His beat selection is very trap inspired and he rocks a high-pitched, auto tuned delivery. He mixes rapping and singing pretty effectively, so if you enjoy that style, this might be the tape for you. Tracks that are standing out to us right now are “Crash Out!” “Luxurious Damage,” and “Flex!” Be sure to check out the tape with the links above.
What are your thoughts on this brand-new EP LUXURIOUS DAMAGE by UnoTime? Which songs are you gravitating toward right now and why? What is your favorite song of his? Does this get you excited for what is to come from him after hearing his first project? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. He has been dropping music on DSPs for about four years now, getting his career off the ground during the COVID-19 pandemic. He is known for tracks such as “1o,” “Hittin,” and “Hurt My Feelings,” with around seven million streams between the three of them. This new cut “SSwerve Geeked” figures to be another hit in his growing catalog.
Listen To “SSwerve Geeked” By Yhapojj & Lil Tony Official
For this record, he is teaming up with Lil Tony Official, who hails from the Westside of Atlanta, Georgia. He is also 19 and has a similar auto-tuned flow. “SSwerve Geeked” has that slow-mo and woozy style that is so prevalent in Southern hip-hop. It features a sticky chorus from Tony and a lone verse from Yhapojj. Furthermore, this song is to bring some excitement to the former’s upcoming album P.S. F*** You which is expected on May 10.
What are your thoughts on this brand-new single “SSwerve Geeked” by Yhapojj and Lil Tony Official? Do you need to hear from this duo, why or why not? What is the best element of the track and why? 21-year-old Atlanta MC Bktherula recently released her latest full-length LPLVL5 P2. The project serves as one of her most ambitious outings yet following her mixtape LVL5 P1, which she released in February of 2023. In the four years that she has been releasing music professionally, the Warner Music Group signee has amassed over 1 million monthly Spotify listeners, with many surely flocking to LVL5 P2 with joyous anticipation. The album spans 13 tracks disbursed over 31 minutes, and includes a pair of well-placed features from the likes of Cash Cobain and JID. Here’s a brief overview of Bktherula’s latest project, as well as a review of the material therein.
As soon as the album opens, fans can tell that LVL5 P2 is no run-of-the-mill trap outing. On the opening track, aptly titled “Code,” Bktherula offers crackling glitchy synth pads and buzzing bass lines, which make the track feel like you’ve been transported inside a computer to engage in a shoot-out with a malicious virus. BK’s dissonant, sometimes arrhythmic rapping is reminiscent of other abstract artists such as RXK Nephew, and her lyrical content clashes interestingly with the soundscape of the song.
This trend continues through the following few tracks, with outings such as “Nun,” “Tatti,” and “Boi” each focussing on Bktherula exploring themes of self-empowerment and sexual liberation. In these songs, BK raps about stealing women from the less popular people around her and being unable to remain satisfied with one partner, resulting in her frequently hiding her phone and engaging in trysts. These themes continue throughout the album, being frequently referenced through the full run-time.
A Bit Too Repetitive
Unfortunately, Bktherula’s lyrical content sometimes repeats itself, causing some tracks to fade into the background. While the 21-year-old femcee undoubtedly possesses great talent, listeners can only hear someone boast about stealing their girl so many times before it becomes monotonous. Tracks like “Shakin It,” “Wishuwasdacrew,” and “Insane” showcase Bktherula effortlessly gliding on the beat, offering an enjoyable listening experience. However, these tracks fail to explore new lyrical territory on the record, suggesting that merging them into one track while discarding the other two could have been a better approach.
The track “Crayon” sees Bktherula doing her best Playboi Carti impression, which sounds delightful, but makes listeners want to tune in to Whole Lotta Red more than it makes them want to continue listening to LVL5 P2. Likewise, JID steals the show so hard with his lyrically-verbose guest appearance on “Woman” that it inspires listeners to turn the album off and switch to a full-length JID project. “Woman” is easily the stand-out track on the album, with BK providing an excellent vocal performance of her own, despite the fact that she can’t hold a candle to JID’s impeccable rhymes.
Despite the problems with LVL5 P2, Bktherula managed to end the project on a high note, with the thematically focused “Racks Up.” The final track offers a well-written and concise exploration of the themes that plague the entire album, such as infidelity, trust issues, and struggling to find a partner who can adjust to BK’s fast-paced lifestyle of fame, riches, and nationwide tours.
At the end of the day, each track on this record has merit, but Bktherula’s inability to diversify her range of topics on LVL5 P2 makes it a repetitive listen, even with its brief run-time. Your best bet with this album is likely to pick a handful of songs to add to your playlist, rather than running back the full project multiple times.
The people have spoken at the 2024 People’s Choice Awards, and Ice Spice is their New Artist of the Year. During her acceptance speech at the ceremony on Sunday (February 18) in California, she thanked her fans for their ardent support. “Thank you, I wasn’t nervous until right now, but,” the 24-year-old said with a laugh. “Thank you so much! You know, this award means so much to me because it’s fan voted, and I love my fans. I wanna give a big thank you to my baby sister watching at home. Sienna, I love you so much. And I wanna thank my beautiful team, thank you so much to my manager, my producer, my label.
“Shoutout to all the brands I’ve collab’d with in the last year or so,” Ice Spice continued. “And shoutout to all the other nominees in this category. You guys are amazing and talented. Thank you so much!” What’s more is that she also had other reasons to celebrate her fellow celebrities’ awards recently. The Bronx hitmaker shouted out someone from her hometown, good friend Kai Cenat, for winning a streaming award.
Ice Spice Wins New Artist Of The Year At The 2024 PCAs: Watch Her Acceptance Speech
However, that’s not what Ice Spice is making a lot of noise for at the moment, and what might define the rest of her 2024. She’s currently embroiled in a cold war beef with Latto, for which the only thing left to do for either artist is to call them out directly. Sure, they’ve already alluded to each other multiple times and given out subliminal disses, plus their fanbases are going at it heavily on social media. But maybe an old-fashioned rap battle and hit-for-hit is what they need to gain each other’s respect as competitors.
Meanwhile, the “Think U The S**t (Fart)” MC recently met up with Spike Lee, and fans think that they could have something planned for the future. A music video, a movie, a TV ad, something beyond what either’s typically known for… who knows? All we know is that it’s exciting to witness. For more news and the latest updates on Ice Spice, check back in with HNHH.
Kanye West is someone who has been known to collaborate with a ton of young artists over the years. Overall, there are a few artists that we know of because Ye included them in his albums. For instance, Ye is responsible for making Desiigner’s “Panda” a household hit. However, despite being far along in his career, he is still very much looking for new talent. There are always new artists coming up and with Ye looking to drop Vultures, it is clear that he is interested in the next big artists.
Well, Ye may have found him. If you have been on the internet lately, you may have noticed a viral sensation by the name of 4Batz. The artist has done two “The Block Performance” videos, and they have been wildly successful. Overall, the artist boasts an r&b sound and fans are intrigued thanks to the fact that the artist has an aesthetic that makes you think he sounds a lot different. These tracks have proven to be hits, and fans want to see what he will do next. Today, he got the ultimate co-sign.
In the video and photo above, you can see that Kanye West got on a Facetime call with 4Batz. Although the extent of the FaceTime is unknown, there is no doubt that this was a cool moment for the young artist. While Ye has damaged his reputation in the past, he is still someone that a lot of people look up to. Simply put, a Ye co-sign can still be career-changing. Whether or not 4Batz ends up on Vultures, still remains to be seen.
Let us know what you think of 4Batz, in the comments section below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. We will always keep you informed on your favorite artists and all of their upcoming projects.
A couple of days ago we highlighted a new artist that has been gaining some buzz. This young buck hails from the West Coast. More specifically, he calls Los Angeles, California home. His name is X4 and he recently dropped his debut project.
The Most Importantfeatures a tight nine-song tracklist. Guest appearances include Remble, a frequent collaborator of his, Lil Vada, TruCarr, and 03 Greedo. With him being from Cali, X4 has embraced that familiar West Coast sound that features gangsta rap and bouncy tunes. He has a deep and fairly monotone delivery, however, it has a swagger to it.
The lead single “Call My Bluff” is what we believe to be a good introductory song for him. It has violent lyrics like, “Catch him at night, at that light, like Tupac, we gon’ hit him up (Fah-fah-fah) / We stripped him for his s***, now is time to split the chilly up.” FBEAT, who produces every song on the project, delivers a spacey and almost futuristic vibe. X4 brings some solid flows and a catchy hook to the table as well. Give the track a spin above.
What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new song, “Call My Bluff,” by X4? Is this the best track from The Most Important, why or why not? Is he one of the hottest up-and-comers from the West Coast in recent memory? Who do you think he is most similar to, or is he unique? Who would you like to see X4 work with in the future? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your hottest takes in the comments section below. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest breaking news around X4. Finally, stay with us for all of the best song drops throughout the week.
Quotable Lyrics:

Coming into this year, Sexyy Red was relatively unknown. Although she certainly had fans and a following on social media, she didn’t have mainstream appeal. However, that is not to say that she hadn’t been trying to make it big. A deep dive on her YouTube channel will show songs and performances from as old as five years ago. These efforts were getting a respectable amount of attention for someone with very little backing. That said, things took an exceptional turn when she dropped “Pound Town” in January of 2023.
Sexyy Red Gets A Hit
“My coochie pink, my booty hole brown,” are lyrics that can be traced back to the moment Sexyy Red became a superstar. The song was a viral hit that was shocking to a lot of people. Subsequently, hip-hop purists called her “trash” and bemoaned about the death of the genre. However, casual listeners were captivated by her confidence and her visceral raps. Each bar took you on a journey and you didn’t know where she would go next.
While the flows may be a bit questionable at times, they were filled to the brim with personality. The lyrics were so raunchy that even Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion could be seen as “prude.” Overall, “Pound Town” was the catalyst for a movement defined by the likes of Sexyy and one of her best industry friends, Sukihana.
Hood Hottest Princess Does Numbers
All too often, these kinds of viral songs can lead to artists becoming one-hit wonders. In the eyes of many, Sexyy was destined for that kind of fate. However, this was a complete misread of both her talent and her charisma. As we have seen with another fellow newcomer, Ice Spice, having a great personality goes a long way. It can draw in a stable fanbase while also giving other artists a reason to work with you. When your energy is right, you can make anything happen. That is exactly what Sexyy Red did, to perfection.
Over the ensuing months, she would drop songs like “Hellcats SRTs” and “SkeeYee.” Furthermore, she even got a feature from Nicki Minaj with “Pound Town 2.” These tracks found their footing on the album Hood Hottest Princess. While it may not have had the same kind of sales numbers as a Utopia or a For All The Dogs, this is an album that made its impact in clubs, bars, and most importantly, cars around America. “SkeeYee” became the anthem of the New York Jets while “Hellcats SRTs” is a mainstay in the club. These tracks are played at sporting events and have taken on a life of their own.
Not to mention, Sexyy also got invited to finish off Drake’s tour as the opening act. A co-sign from Drake can change your life and Sexyy certainly took advantage. Immediately after going on tour with Drake, she decided to book her own solo tour which sold out within minutes. It was yet another example of Sexyy’s reach and her appeal to the broader masses. In just a few short months, she was able to accomplish something a lot of major artists are still struggling to figure out.
Sexyy Red’s MVP Case
The aforementioned tour has begun and despite being pregnant, Sexyy continues to perform. Her work ethic is second to none, and she will stop at nothing to give the fans what they paid for. Overall, this is one of the many reasons why were are crowning Sexyy Red as the Hip-Hop MVP of 2023. Sure, there are plenty of names we could have chosen instead. For instance, some would say it is Lil Yachty. With “Poland,” and Let’s Start Here taking him to new heights, some feel like Yachty is at the top of his career. However, Yachty did not keep it strictly hip-hop this year. How can someone be a Hip-Hop MVP when they denigrate the genre any chance they get?
There are also artists like Ice Spice, Drake, Veeze, and perhaps even Travis Scott who could be considered here. In Drake’s case, For All The Dogs did not land like fans hoped it would. Meanwhile, Utopia was way too polarizing to be considered an Album Of The Year contender. As for Veeze, well, one could argue he is the runner-up here. Ganger was an incredible body of work and his tour has also been an amazing success. However, when it comes down to it, Sexyy Red truly checked all of the boxes this year.
Moving Forward
Whether it be her constant stream of hits, her nearly flawless album, or the successful tour stops she has made, Sexyy has shown us all that she has what it takes to be successful for a long time. While the haters and discourse havers will continue to minimize her success, it’s important to keep things in focus. Zoom out and take a look at the entire music landscape of 2023. You will be hard-pressed to find an artist who had a better year than Sexyy.
If Sheedts isn’t on your radar yet, you should definitely tap in. The Philly-based rapper has been garnering some significant attention over the past few months, culminating in the release of his latest single, “Remember” ft. G Herbo. The record arrived a month after he released the single without any assistance. However, his moody delivery and Herbo’s gruff flow pair together perfectly. They deliver an infectious bop as a result of such potent musical chemistry.
Sheedts’ melodic inflections glide over the dreamy and spacey production for a song that truly sounds like it’s bound to have every party and nightclub lit. There’s a touch of Post Malone’s influence that penetrates through the hook, although Sheedts’s sound is far more raw. Plus, it’s equipped with a dance move that G Herbo also picks up in the music video. This song undoubtedly has all the qualities to take Sheedts to the next level. Additionally, it marks another stellar verse from G Herbo who has been on an impeccable feature run over the past year.
Earlier this year, Sheedts inked a deal with Great Day Records, a label launched by Baroline Diaz in partnership with Todd Moscowitz’s Santa Anna and Alamo Records. At 18 years old, he’s already made significant strides in his career. Following the release of 2022’s 5ive, he came through with C My Side. Boasting 12 songs in total, including “It’s TS,” C My Side served as an excellent introductory project for this new chapter in his career.
Besides G Herbo, he’s already gained some major co-signs in the industry from Rob 49, Babyface Ray, YG, Wallo, and more. We anticipate that he’s going to be making a bigger impact on the rap game in the following year. Check out his new single, “Remember” ft. G Herbo. Is Sheedts the next one up? Sound off in the comment section below.
Quotable Lyrics And you know I don’t give a f*ck ‘bout a check Wake up, buy you a new Rolex, fuck it And I ain’t duckin’, my pistol, I’m tuckin’ You know that I bust it in public You know I bust like 9, 10 times, we keep on f*ckin’ and f*ckin’
Billie Eilish is clearly the most well-known artist that is with Darkroom right now. However, that might not be for too much longer because d4vd is coming in hot. The indie rock and R&B artist is making massive waves already with his unique and somber voice. So much so, that his most popular song, “Here With Me,” is already up to over 700 million plus streams! To put that in perspective the song is off of his first-ever EP, Petals to Thorns, which was released on May 26, 2023. That is only three and a half months roughly of the song being out.
It is an incredible feat for the 18-year-old to say the least and he is only going up from here. Just recently, R&B global phenom SZA added the youngster to the second leg of her SOS tour which is winning fans over. D4VD shared his uncontrollable excitement on the matter. “TRYING NOT TO PANIC @sza THANK U FOR HAVING ME ON TOURRRR I cannot believe my eyes right now this is going to be INSANE.”
Now, d4vd is taking this opportunity to blow up even more, releasing The Lost Petals. It is a sequel to his Petals to Thorns project that has all of the songs that are blowing him up right now. Fans should enjoy it as it improves on his sound overall. Before we know it d4vd will be the artist everyone wants to see on tour.
What are your initial thoughts on this brand new EP, The Lost Petals, from d4vd? Is this his best EP to date? Is the rising artist now due for an album release at this point? We want to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your thoughts in the comments section below. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the hottest project releases, as well as all of the latest breaking news around the music world.
Sometimes, artists strike gold in the most unlikely of places, whether you’re looking for talent or a talent waiting to be found. Moreover, Polo G recently pulled up to Real 92.3 in Los Angeles with his new label signee CNN Mikey, introducing him to the world. For those unaware, the Chicago MC created the ODA label (Only Dreamers Achieve) in 2020, which was part of a partnership deal with Columbia Records. Furthermore, Mikey hails from Toledo, Ohio, but relocated to L.A. when Polo found him. In fact, the story of their link-up is a rare occurrence, but nonetheless an inspiring one for rising artists.
When Polo G and a friend made their way through the LAX airport, CNN Mikey went up to them to say hello. Although they hesitated at first, they loved the couple of songs that the young buck played for them. Shortly afterwards, they got him singed to ODA. “Any artist that I ever scouted or got something to do with, I’m big on creating real relationships and genuine relationships,” the “No Time Wasted” MC remarked to the radio station. “That’s what it’s all about,” the recent signee added.
Just this week on Wednesday (May 24), CNN Mikey released “FOR MY PEOPLE” along with a music video for the track. Hopefully there are greater things to come for Mikey, and for Polo G’s label. In terms of musical moves, he’s been relatively scant for the past year, likely preparing for a big drop that fans beg drops soon. However, that’s not to say he hasn’t been busy, as he appeared on the Hulu series RapCaviar Presents as one of its protagonists. During his episode, he broached a variety of compelling and important topics, such as his relationship with Juice WRLD and drugs.
Unfortunately, one of his recent statements had many concerned for his safety and criticizing his boasts. When the 24-year-old bragged about not needing security, many brought up the untimely deaths of rappers lost to violence. Regardless of how he develops his career, fans hope that he stays safe and alert of the times we live in. For more news and the latest updates on Polo G, log back into HNHH.
