SZA Rants About Music Leaks: “This Is My Life”

SZA expressed her frustration over recent music leaks on Twitter, Saturday night. In a post written fully in caps, she called the latest leaker a “f*cking thief” and threatened to take legal action.

“LEAKING MY MUSIC IS STEALING,” SZA began. “THIS IS MY JOB. THIS IS MY LIFE AND MY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY. YOU ARE A F*CKING THIEF AND I PROMISE TO PUT MAXIMUM ENERGY INTO HOLDING EVERYONE ACCOUNTABLE TO THE FULL EXTENT OF THE LAW. I AM TIRED.”

SZA’s comments on music leaks come as she continues to prepare for the release of her next project, Lana. While it originally started as a deluxe version of SOS, she told Variety that it’s now beginning to feel like a full album. “It’s definitely turning into its own album… and I guess I could drop a new album randomly, because no one’s actually expecting that from me right now,” she told the outlet. “But I can’t tell if now’s the time to be consistent, or carefree. On the one hand it’s like, ‘What would Beyonce do?,’ but I am also deeply inspired by people who do whatever the fuck they want, like Frank Ocean and Andre 3000. Some of my favorite songs were the ones that I dropped on SoundCloud [early in her career], because it was so stress free.” Check out her full response to the leaks below.

ZAYSKII Creates A “Winnin” Melody On This Zaytoven-Produced Track

The greatest thing about music is that it can bring people closer together. There is something about the aura it creates that is unlike anything in the world. It is especially awesome when families become more tight-knit. That happens to be the case with Zaytoven and his son, ZAYSKII.

About a month ago, HNHH spoke with the legendary trap beatmaker about his kid’s debut project. “I’m putting his album out on January 2nd on his birthday. He turns 18.” He continued, “I’m excited about it because he watched me but at the same time, he’s not just trying to do it the exact same way I did. He got his own little twist and flavor to it, too.” It did not drop until the 5th, but we have the project on our hands now.

NLE Choppa And DJ BOOKER Bring A Murderous Sound To “Mem”

One of the best qualities of NLE Choppa is his technical ability. He may not be the most thought-provoking lyricist, but that is not the type of music he makes. The established star Memphis rapper brings head-knocking trap bangers. Out of all of the artists from that city, he is near the top of the heap.

He is bringing some of his patented energetic performances to a new project. For this one, he teamed up with a close buddy of his, DJ BOOKER, for a seven-song offering. The Chosen Ones does not really feature a theme, just tracks that you can catch a vibe from. A song we feel you should be paying attention to is “Mem.”

This is the lead single for the tape and it features some heavy and dark piano keys from BOOKER. Choppa comes in on a mission to rap as fast as he can. Zaytoven’s Son Zayskii Unleashes His First Project “I’m The One”

Last month, HNHH had the absolute pleasure in speaking with the iconic trap producer, Zaytoven. His featured interview was a part of our Advent Calendar. It was a 25-day event on the site in which we had one unique feature piece each day of December up until Christmas Day for those who celebrate. In the chat we discussed a whole bunch of topics surrounding the landscape of hip-hop to what he has going on in his career.

One of the interesting things that came up was that his son, who goes by Zayskii, was going to be coming out with his debut project. He also feels that he is uber talented and become a true superstar. “I have a son that I feel like is a real dope artist and can produce for me. I sit and watch him in my studio and he go down there and make beats and record songs all day and I listen like, ‘dang you got the gift without me even shadowing you all the time. You almost know more stuff than I know.’”

Meek Mill Announces New Weed Strain, Leaves Fans Confused

Meek Mill recently took to social media to reveal that he’s launching a new weed strain to go along with his latest project, leaving fans slightly confused. Only a few months back, the Philly-born performer announced plans to quit smoking altogether, joining Snoop Dogg. Snoop’s sobriety declaration turned out to be a ruse, but Meek Mill seemed pretty serious about his claims, even citing his mental and physical health issues.

“Ima go to Dubai and completely stop smoking,” he Tweeted in November. “Ima follow snoop, my doctor said I got a lil bit emphysema in a chest if I don’t stop smoking it cuts my lifeline in half. I was addicted to the nicotine and this new weed got too many chemicals and too risky to play with my mental!”

It’s unclear whether or not Meek Mill plans to keep smoking, or if he just developed the new weed strain for others to enjoy. Either way, fans are looking forward to giving the strain a try. “Of course I’m starting a weed strand to go along with the new album!” he captioned his latest Instagram photo, which shows him posing at a dispensary in a fuzzy green and white jacket. “I thought you stopped smoking wit snoop,” one confused fan comments. “I think this what they been waiting for lol,” another writes.

Aside from marijuana and music, Meek Mill has also been working on probation reform, recently celebrating a new bill passed in his home state of Pennsylvania. The bill aims to reduce recidivism, making probation restrictions easier to follow so that fewer people get incarcerated for violating them. “My experience on probation reflected millions of other stories that go unheard,” he shared in a statement. “It’s an honor and a blessing to see this change come to my home state.” What do you think of Meek Mill launching a weed strain? Metro Boomin Drops Future & Travis Scott Snippet, Much To The Delight Of Fans

Metro Boomin and Future have been teasing a new album for a while now. Overall, these two artists have delivered some bangers together. Ever since the mid 2010s, these two have been great collaborators. Although they took a break from one another a while ago, they ultimately rekindled their working relationship. Now, they are about to give us Metro Pluto which could prove to be one of the best albums of 2024. It’s going to be a stacked year, yet they still may be the ones on top when all is said and done.

At this point, we still do not have a release date for the project. Instead, we are being left in the lurch on what is going to happen. Fans are optimistic that something good is going to come out, but we just don’t know when that will take place. Luckily, we have been getting some snippets. For instance, just a couple of days ago, Metro delivered a snippet for a song that is believed to be called “Cinderella.” The track has been out there for a while, and it features the likes of Travis Scott.

It remains to be seen if this new track will be on Metro Pluto. However, the fact that Metro is playing this track while out at with Future is a good sign. This is a snippet that some thought would even make its way to Utopia. However, it seems like it will be repurposed elsewhere. Either way, it is a song that sounds great, and we cannot wait to hear a studio version. Hopefully, we get that sooner rather than later. One can only just sit and hope for such good news.

Don Trip And Petty Trade Great Showings On “Bar Hopping”

Don Trip has always been someone who constantly pushes out music. 2023 was easily his busiest year yet as an artist. The Memphis spitter was able to dish out 12 different projects and did so in a cool way. At the end of each month, Don had a new album or EP ready to go. The last time we were able to talk about an album of his was back at the end of October with Red October.

He was also there right around Thanksgiving with Wolverine. Like a lot of his projects, Don Trip grabbed features from Starlito as well as his late friend, Pif. Both of those names find their way onto his latest record, Christopher Season 3. It came out on December 29, just before the new year. One of the tracks that caught our attention was “Bar Hopping.”

The title of the song is a double entendre referring to trading rap bars and traveling to different drinking spots. Throughout the track, there is a killer guitar riffing sample. Don Trip Drops One More Project Just In Time For 2024 With “Christopher Season 3”

There are a lot of prolific rappers in the hip-hop genre. Quite a great deal of them dwell in the underground lane. One of them includes longtime Memphis, Tennessee MC Don Trip. The 38-year-old did something not many are able to pull off.

He came out with 12 (!) albums in 2023. The first one, Gotham City, dropped on January 27. From that point on, Don Trip would go on to follow a very particular trend. Don set it up to where he would be able to drop an LP at the end of each month. Somehow, he was able to stay committed to that trend and did so by coming out with Christopher Season 3 on December 29.

Ja Rule Is Gearing Up For A New Album

Ja Rule is a legend in the hip-hop world. Although it has been a very long time since he was in his prime, he still has fans out there. Overall, Ja came out with plenty of big hits back in the day. Furthermore, he has some iconic projects such as Venni Vetti Vecci. Unfortunately, a beef with 50 Cent ultimately stunted the progression of his career. He even became a punchline for many years. This is especially true when you consider how he was named in a now-iconic Dave Chappelle stand-up routine.

Additionally, Ja Rule was someone who had a hand in the infamous Fyre Festival fiasco. Although he has since moved past this, there are people who still think about it from time to time. Oh, and he also had that halftime performance at a Milwaukee Bucks game that didn’t end so well. Either way, Ja is still very much active as it pertains to performing. His last project was in 2012, and now, he appears to be ready for something new. While taking to Twitter, Ja revealed that he has a new album on the way.

“In full album mode,” he wrote on social media. Of course, his fans were excited about this. After all, older artists are being encouraged to drop more music. When you take the 50th anniversary of hip-hop into consideration, it becomes clear that there is an appetite for music from legacy acts. Now, it just becomes a question of when will the album come out. No one wants this to be a musical equivalent of the Fyre Fest situation. That would just give 50 Cent more ammunition.

Kanye West Has Fans Upset Yet Again As “Vultures” No Longer Has A Release Date

Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign have been working on a new album called Vultures. Overall, it is an album that has been surrounded by controversy. With Ye’s fervent anti-Semitism, there are those who are deadset on boycotting the album. Furthermore, Ye has delayed the album on numerous occasions. Of course, this is something Ye does all of the time, so we should have known better. All throughout December, the album was delayed, and most recently, the project was pegged for January 12th.

Well, it seems like that is no longer the case. According to Forbes a spokesperson for Ye has said that the album does not have a release date. Instead, the album’s fate is completely up in the air. There is some speculation that the album is going to be scrapped entirely. However, there are actual insiders who know for sure this is not the case. According to HipHopDX, one of those people is Malik Yusef. He recently told fans on social media that vocals are being re-recorded and that the album will eventually drop.

At this point, it does feel like the album is in limbo. While those around Ye are confident that it will still come out, the entire rollout has been absolutely painstaking. Fans are being left in the dark, and those who still support Ye are becoming a bit fed up with the whole deal. Whether or not Kanye ends up pushing things along, still remains to be seen. By the time it comes out, there is a real chance a lot of people will have moved on. Not to mention, there is still time to make this a STEM player exclusive.
