Sampha Delivers Tons Of Personal Bouts On Sophomore Album “Lahai”

Morden, South London singer and songwriter Sampha is an extremely elusive artist. However, fans are always willing to wait however long it needs to be to get new music from him. In this case, six years have gone by since the release of his debut tape, Process. That album won the coveted Mercury Prize, which is the award for the best album to come from the UK or Ireland. He might be in contention for that honor yet again with his sophomore album, Lahai. What set that record apart from the rest was its ability to tell emotional stories of isolation.

Lahai is sort of a follow-up in a way to these previous feelings. According to Sampha’s Apple Music interview, he shows that he is beginning to recover from all of the loss and anxieties he was dealing with. Hence the previous album was titled the way it was. He says, “I don’t necessarily live by what I’m saying but there’s times where I recognize that I need to reconnect to family and friends—times where I can really lose connection by being too busy with my own things.”

Listen To Lahai From Sampha

In addition to this, Sampha shared some meaning behind the record on his Instagram a little bit ago. This was on his announcement post for Lahai. “My grandfather’s name My middle name My next musical chapter My next album.” He continued, “Fever Dreams. Continuums. Dancing. Generations. Syncopation. Bridges. Grief. Motherlands. Love. Spirit. Fear. Flesh. Flight.” You can experience all of this and more with the links above.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new album from Sampha, Lahai? Is this project better than his debut LP, Process? What are your top five tracks right now? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below. Lil Wayne & 2 Chainz’s “Welcome 2 ColleGrove” Release Date Revealed

Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz are two artists who have collaborated quite a bit in the past. Overall, the two know how to make some phenomenal tracks together. In fact, they have an entire collaborative project. This album was released back in 2016 and is simply called ColleGrove. Although only 2 Chainz is credited as the primary artist, this is still very much a collab tape. It is one that is wrapped in nostalgia, and fans have been waiting for some kind of follow-up.

Well, it is pretty clear that Lil Wayne is in album mode right now. He just dropped Tha Fix Before Tha VI which was a teaser to Tha Carter VI. Prior to dropping his much-awaited sequel to his popular album series, Wayne is now teaming up with 2 Chainz again. This time, they are going to be dropping a follow-up to ColleGrove. The album is appropriately titled Welcome 2 ColleGrove and the lead single “Presha” dropped last night. Furthermore, it would appear as though we have a release date.

Lil Wayne x 2 Chainz

According to new information from Apple Music, you can expect Welcome 2 ColleGrove to come out on Friday, November 17th. Overall, this is a very interesting move considering Nicki Minaj is going to release her album on the very same day. Considering Wayne and Nicki’s relationship, one could wonder about the thought process here. Especially when you consider how Minaj had announced her album first. However, there is always the strong possibility that it is all just random chance.

No matter what, both albums are going to get their fair share of love once they drop. Wayne and 2 Chainz are two artists with massive fanbases, and this project promises to be a great one. Let us know your expectations for Welcome 2 ColleGrove, in the comments section down below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. City Girls Unveil “RAW” Tracklist Featuring Lil Durk, Usher, And More

Recently, City Girls took to social media to unveil the tracklist for their eagerly-anticipated new album, RAW. The project is slated for release at midnight, and it’s safe to say that fans can’t wait. Listeners have been looking forward to a new LP from the iconic duo since City on Lock, and it doesn’t look like they’ll be disappointed. The tracklist includes some exciting features from Lil Durk, Usher, Juicy J, Muni Long, and more.

JT and Yung Miami also teamed up with pop singer Kim Petras for the track “Flashy,” which they previewed on Instagram yesterday. RAW Drops October 20

RAW, which stands for “Real A*s Wh*res,” is going to be good, at least according to JT. In fact, she says they haven’t dropped a single subpar project to date. “City girls don’t have one bad album,” she reminded her fans on Twitter today. “Can’t believe this is our 4th project! don’t forget where a lot of you b*tches got y’all direction from!” Though good things clearly come in twos, the City Girls are doing quite well for themselves individually, too.

During a chat with Kali Uchis for Interview Magazine earlier this month, JT revealed that she’ll be releasing a solo project after City Girls’ album drops. “I want to put out that project and then sort everything out individually,” she explained. As for Yung Miami, she recently took home an award for Best Hip-Hop Platform at the BET Hip Hop Awards for her podcast, Caresha Please. What do you think of City Girls’ newly-unveiled RAW tracklist? Are you looking forward to hearing the features on the album? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates on City Girls.

City Girls Don’t Have A Single Bad Project According To JT

The City Girls are in full album mode. The duo of JT and Yung Miami are gearing up to release their new album RAW tonight. It’s their first project since 2020’s City On Lock and has been preceded by a number of singles earlier this year. They’ve also teased some of the new songs set to appear on the project. One of them features a sung hook from one of 2022’s breakout pop stars Kim Petras. The album has had a pretty short promotional period with the official announcement coming just last week and the album cover being revealed earlier this week.

In preparation for the album dropping, JT clarified something for her fans online. “City girls don’t have one bad album! Can’t believe this is our 4th project! don’t forget where a lot of you b*tches got y’all direction from!” she tweeted earlier today. In the comments, fans debate the merit of their claims. Some try to bring up other names like Cardi B or Lil Kim who they think have been more influential. Others give JT and Yung Miami credit and cite specific examples of their work as trendsetters. Check out the full post and variety of fan reactions below.

JT Claims City Girls Have No Bad Projects

Recently the City Girls showed up for the BET Hip-Hop Awards where they previewed a song from their new album. That song was their newest single “Face Down.” The track is a raunchy banger that dropped last month before the official announcement of the album. They also performed JT’s debut solo single “No Bars” from earlier this year.

For those craving more JT solo work, they’re in luck. Before the new project was officially announced she said in an interview that some material was on the way. She mentioned specifically that after the release of RAW she was interested in potentially dropping a solo album. What do you think of JT’s claim that all of the City Girls projects are good? Sampha Shares New Short Film Just Hours Before His Album Drops

Sampha fans have been waiting a LONG time for a new project. The critical darling R&B singer last released a new project in 2017 with his debut Process. He hasn’t been entirely quiet since then as he’s popped up for a few features. He’s teamed up with some of the biggest rappers around like Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and Stormzy. He also lent his voice to a few songs from electronica project SBTRKT.

Earlier this year he returned with his first new music in 2017. He dropped two singles before announcing a new album. Back in June he shared “Spirit 2.0” with fans which serves as the lead single for the new album. After announcing that his new album LAHAI was coming in October he dropped a second single. That track was called “Only” and arrived last month with even more fanfare than its predecessor. Now with the album only hours away Sampha shared a new 4-and-a-half minute short film to his YouTube channel. You can check out the entire video below.

Cardi B Previews New Music

Cardi B previewed some unreleased music on social media, earlier this week. The stream comes as she continues to work on her highly-anticipated sophomore album. When The Neighborhood Talk shared the clip on Instagram, fans had mixed responses to the song.

“When are ppl and the industry/media gonna be honest about Cardi?” one hater wrote. “She’s the most coddled artist in history and doesn’t even have the talent to deserve the grace she’s been given. Other actual talented artists have been dragged for a lot less.” Another added: “All her music sound like pandemic raps. You can tell they were made years ago.”

Cardi B has been building to the release of her next album for years at this point. She dropped her critically acclaimed debut, Invasion of Privacy, back in 2018. She recently explained the reason for the delay while appearing on Ebro in the Morning. “Then on top of that, everything just has to be like perfect from everything because I feel like people are expecting so much,” she said. “For my first album, I didn’t get to do not even half the things I wanted to do because I was super super duper pregnant. I missed out on a lot of videos I wanted to do, I missed out on touring — I just missed out on a lot of things, so I just gotta make sure that everything is just planned out.” She also confirmed the project will drop sometime in 2024.

Cardi B Says She’s Scrapping New Album After Argument With Twitter Trolls

Overnight, Cardi B’s Twitter feed erupted. After she shared a snippet of new music she faced mixed reactions to the new music online. But what seemed to upset her even more was those questioning her work ethic. It’s been 5 years since she released her debut album Invasion Of Privacy. While she’s spent a lot of time teasing towards a follow-up, nothing solid has ever materialized. Earlier this year she confirmed to fans that she did have a new album on the way, but that it wouldn’t be released until 2024.

Now after having her work ethic criticized online, she went off on some fans. That included a number of serious moments, even wishing death on some people. Ultimately it concluded with Cardi claiming that there was no album anymore. Fans took issue with her declaration, claiming that it was what the trolls wanted and ended up hurting her most diehard fans. Eventually, she deleted almost every tweet she made throughout the night and it’s unclear where the status of her new album stands. Check out some of the posts she made in the comment section below.

She described the feel of the clothes as “Snatched & Comfortable” in a series of videos and photo shoots showing off various clothes from the new line.

Cardi B also recently popped up twice on her husband Offset’s new album Set It Off. Initially, the duo collaborated on “JEALOUSY” the lead single from the album which directly played on their public relationship. She also appeared on another track on the album called “FREAKY” which made quite a splash at the listening party for the album. What do you think of Cardi B threatening to not release her new album? Boosie Badazz And B.G. Are Working On A Collaborative Album

B.G. was recently released from prison after serving 12 years of a 14-year sentence. The Hot Boys star was originally arrested after police found him with two stolen guns during a traffic stop. The New Orleans rapper got out last month and quickly turned around and dropped some new material. He teamed up with friend and collaborator Boosie Badazz for a new song called “BG Free / My Dawg.” They made a music video for the track featuring plenty of old footage and it proved fans were still interested in the pair. The video has received more than 1.4 million views in the two weeks since it was released.

According to HipHopDX, it isn’t the only new material the pair have on the way. The two joined DJ Tony Neal where they made the official announcement. “We got a[n] album coming together,” B.G. explained. He went on to express just how much Boosie’s continued support meant to him through it all. “I just wanted to come through, give him a shout out, man, let him know I appreciate everything he did for me while I was down, y’know what I’m sayin? That was– man, I’m talkin’ about — man, man, man, dude wrapped his arm around me like a real G supposed to, man, y’know what I’m sayin? That’s my brother, man. I mean like that’s my brother, man,” he explained. Check out the clip of the conversation below.
