Gunna made his first public appearance since taking a plea deal in the massive YSL RICO case on Saturday night. He was in attendance during Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat. He sat courtside for the event with Nechie. Diddy and Yung Miami were also both at the game together.
Watching on as the Celtics won 104-103, Gunna rocked dark shades with a sleeveless top and pink and black pants. When NoJumper posted a picture of Gunna at the game, fans were quick to bring up his accusations of snitching. “Didn’t he snitch or something?” one commented. Another wrote: “He out there too. Not hidin or nun.” Many more shared images of rats.

When Gunna first accepted his plea deal, he received tons of backlash online. Rumors that he snitched on Young Thug and his YSL associates in doing so quickly spread. While Gunna denied the accusations in a statement at the time, it may not have been enough for many fans. “While I have agreed to always be truthful, I want to make it perfectly clear that I have NOT made any statements, have NOT been interviewed, have NOT cooperated, have NOT agreed to testify or be a witness for or against any party in the case and have absolutely NO intention of being involved in the trial process in any way,” Gunna told WSB-TV. “My focus of YSL was entertainment — rap artists who wrote and performed music that exaggerated and ‘glorified’ urban life in the Black community.”

The NBA has opened an investigation into longtime referee Eric Lewis regarding a Twitter account that is believed to be his burner. The account, @CuttliffBlair, has since been deleted. It had responded to numerous posts on officiating and defended Lewis amongst other NBA referees. The NBA forbids referees to comment on officiating publicly without authorization.
During his 19-year tenure with the NBA, Lewis has officiated 1,100 games. His career has reached an uptick in recent years, having refereed six Finals games since 2019. He was most recently on the floor for Game 1 of the Western Conference finals between the Denver Nuggets and Los Angeles Lakers on May 16.

The team eventually was swept by the Nuggets and James admitted that he will be considering retirement in the offseason, but has yet to come to a decision. The Denver Nuggets will take on the winner of Game 7 between the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat. That game will tip off on Monday night.

Ever since classic episodes like “Homer at the Bat,” the series has incorporated sports-themed narratives. Naturally, these episodes often led to cameos from professional athletes willing to poke fun at themselves. Some of the most notable cameos have been from the world of the NBA. From Shaq to Magic Johnson, some of the greatest players to ever set foot on the court have visited Springfield.
The Season 16 episode “Homer and Ned’s Hail Mary Pass” seemed like an unlikely platform to host professional athletes. The episode parodied early viral internet videos and the controversy surrounding Mel Gibson’s film, The Passion of the Christ. However, “Homer and Ned’s Hail Mary Pass” incorporated several professional athletes, including Lebron James and Yao Ming.
In a scene where Homer tried to recreate the story of Noah’s Ark for a halftime show, things went terribly wrong. Homer employed several professional athletes, including Tom Brady and Michelle Kwan, to help mobilize the makeshift boat. Yao Ming gets a wonderful snipe regarding the difference between labor in China and U.S. during the scene. Lebron also gets a moment to shine in the episode where he ruins a Simpson’s family dinner.

Living legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has never been a stranger to the world of film and television. The 7’ 2” NBA titan has appeared in classic films like Game of Death and Fletch. In the Season 22 episode, “Love Is a Many Strangled Thing.” Abdul-Jabbar made his debut in Springfield, where he made fun of his own large stature.
In the episode, Homer went to anger management to help quell his violent tendencies. Kareem took the position of Homer, while the Simpsons patriarch embodied his son. The result was both hilarious and uncomfortable. The scene had a metanarrative regarding Homer and Bart’s relationship, which has been scrutinized for over 30 years.
4. Dennis Rodman
The Simpsons’ Halloween special “Treehouse of Horror” has been a seasonal hallmark for over 30 years. “Treehouse of Horror XVI” was no different. In the segment “I’ve Grown a Costume on Your Face,” the show parodied The Twilight Zone episode “The Masks.” The story centered around the residents of Springfield being cursed by a witch, who made their Halloween costumes come to life.
In the episode’s final moments, power forward Dennis Rodman appeared as an anthropomorphic baby pacifier. Rodman acclimated to the show’s self-deprecating sense of humor, casually commenting on his controversial life. Plenty of NBA cameos on The Simpsons have been bizarre, but Rodman’s was probably the most surreal.
Some episodes of The Simpsons will dedicate their entire runtime to poking fun at a particular subject. The episode “22 for 30” was one of them. Presented in a documentary format, “22 for 30” follows Bart’s rise and fall as a Springfield Elementary basketball team star player.
The episode hilariously poked fun at sports documentaries with characters arguing for camera time and declaring conflicting anecdotes. Steph Curry makes a hilarious cameo as himself. His gag was throwing a paper ball into Principal Skinner’s coffee through the Lard Lad Donuts’ mascot. It was a brief appearance from the Golden State Warriors point guard, but it felt right at home in the faux documentary.

One of the earliest NBA cameos on The Simpsons was from one of the greatest ever to play the game. In the Season 3 episode “Homer Defined,” Homer is named Employee of the Month by Mr. Burns. However, the superlative was not earnestly won as he accidentally diverted a nuclear meltdown. Homer realized his win was not well-earned. This caused him to feel guilty once Lisa started to look up to him as a role model. His guilt further deepened when he received a call from Magic Johnson, congratulating Homer on his heroism.

Shaquille O’Neal had been featured in The Simpsons before his vocal debut in the episode “Gone Boy.” Kevin Michael Richardson voiced the four-time NBA Champion in a previous episode. However, Shaq took the wheel in the recording studio to lend his vocal talents to the Season 29 episode.
The episode is a loose parody of the hit film and novel Gone Girl. The story centers around Bart disappearing and Sideshow Bob trying to manipulate Milhouse for information on his whereabouts. Homer and Grandpa Simpson run into Shaq while tracking Sideshow Bob. However, the NBA All-Star gets creeped out by the father-and-son duo for ridiculous reasons.
Coi Leray is hard at work promoting and gearing up for her next album COI, but her latest post left many basketball fans confused. Moreover, she posed with an NBA trophy ahead of the Finals, which begin on June 1 pitting the Denver Nuggets against whoever wins between the Boston Celtics and the Miami Heat (the series is currently 3-2 in the Heat’s favor). “Winnnnnerrrrr @nba x (CL),” she captioned her post with a bizarre set of hashtags. “#TeamCeltics #TeamLebron#WNBAForever.” Given that LeBron and the Los Angeles Lakers lost against the Nuggets, many are urging the rap star to catch up with the news.
Jokes aside, she clearly just wants to show her love and support to a legend despite the disappointing loss. Also, as a Boston native herself, it’s no surprise that Coi Leray’s rooting for her team to make a massive comeback, which is already halfway done. If the Celtics reverse a 3-0 deficit against the Heat, it would be a monumental moment. Still, the series is far from over yet, and the comments filled up with many skeptics of the Massachusetts team’s chances of winning.
However, this isn’t the only big hunk of metal that the 26-year-old posed with recently. While performing at Revolution Saturdays at REBEL in Toronto, she brought our a platinum plaque for her single “Players.” The song, which flips the classic hip-hop track “The Message” by Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, became one of her biggest tracks ever. In the case of “Blair Cuttliff”, the anonymous figure behind the account, this fixation was NBA refereeing. Specifically, the refereeing of Eric Lewis. Lewis is an 18-year veteran of the NBA and has reffed six NBA Finals games. Prior to the NBA, Lewis had 19 years of experience in the G League, USBL, NCAA, and Florida high school levels.
As mentioned, “Blair Cuttliff” loved to talk about, and specifically defend, Lewis’ officiating. Four of the five accounts that Cuttliff followed were the NBA’s official account, the official account of the NBA Refs, the statistical analysis account “Ref Analytics”, and the NBA’s communication account. There’s just one problem, “Blair Cuttliff” might in fact be Eric Lewis.

The accusations that “Blair Cuttliff” was actually Eric Lewis were made, or at least collated, by the account @PabloEscoburner. They dived deep into the history of “Blair Cuttliff”, whose account was created in 2015, who seemingly defended Lewis on every tweet that criticized the veteran ref. This reply guy behavior had only gotten more frenzied during the Lakers-Nuggets series, where Lewis was accused of missing several big calls. The evidence in favor of Lewis being Cuttliff obviously starts with the account’s passionate defense of the ref. Furthermore, there are claims that the account is registered under Lewis’ AOL account. However, the nail in the coffin is the account’s fifth and final follower – George Mason Women’s Basketball. Now this could be perfectly innocent – an alma mater, a child’s alma mater. However, it doesn’t help Lewis’ case that his wife, Vanessa Blair-Lewis, is the women’s basketball head coach at George Mason.

Flopping Could Soon Earn A Charge

First reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic, the league is exploring the possibility of implementing a punishment for flopping. According to Charania, the NBA is considering testing a rule change to implement a technical free throw for the charge of “flopping”. Furthermore, this could be tested as early as the Las Vegas Summer League in June.
The proposed change comes a few weeks after Steve Kerr publicly begged the NBA to address the issue. “I think, to me, what I’ve learned coaching in FIBA … There’s a flop rule. If a referee deems a player has flopped, they just call it a technical foul, and it’s pretty penalizing. And so the flopping has basically been eliminated from FIBA, and we have the ability to do the same thing in the NBA if we want. I think we should address it, because the players are so smart, and the entire regular season is about gamesmanship and trying to fool the refs. And this is how it’s been for a while, and it’s up to us as a league. Do we want to fix this? … These are all things that are my personal plea to the NBA. I think we can do better in terms of cleaning up the flopping. In the meantime, I give the Lakers credit for the plays that they’ve been able to sell.”

Between 2017 and 2018, Carmelo Anthony enjoyed moderate success with Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets. As questions about his performance began to surface, Anthony came back swinging after signing with the Portland Trail Blazers. He kept beating his previously set high scores with the team as their games progressed. It was also during his time with the Trail Blazers that he joined the top 10 list of NBA all-time career scorers. Anthony ended his career at the Los Angeles Lakers, where he played with his longtime friend, LeBron James.

In Denver, where his professional NBA career began, Anthony is somewhat of a savior. The Nuggets’ turnaround after his debut is an iconic moment in basketball history. Anthony led the team to the playoffs in every season he spent with the team. He achieved several outstanding feats with the Knicks as well and is widely celebrated in New York for his contributions.
Outside of the court, the seasoned basketball player was known for his charity work. He has also been dedicated to fighting social injustices and using his voice to champion good. Along with his colleagues and friends, he has provided aid and relief to many underprivileged people in his community and beyond.
As he stated in his retirement video, Anthony has passed the torch on to his son Kiyan, a buzzing prospect, and the son he shares with LaLa Anthony. The world will celebrate Carmelo Anthony for years to come, and a Hall of Fame honor is definitely underway.
