Lil Baby Inexplicably Blasts Rappers Using Nail Polish On New Song “Touchdown”

Lil Baby just released his new single “Touchdown,” and while it’s pretty standard fare based on what we’ve come to expect from him, one bar in particular really stood out to many listeners. “Real gangster, I ain’t rocking no nail polish,” he raps on the cut, which is a confusing bar for a couple of reasons. First off, fans’ beef-infected minds immediately began to speculate whether or not he’s talking about one MC in particular. But others expressed more confusion over this random stray for a normal fashion trend in recent years whose typically homophobic and hyper-masculine backlash is old news at this point.

You can definitely some of that thinly-veiled discrimination in the comments section of the Instagram post below, and this reaction did not become any less corny from what it was almost a decade ago. But then again, this is probably just a random throwaway line from Lil Baby, so making a fuss about it in either direction seems like a worthless and unnecessary endeavor. He’s teased a lot of music on the way soon, so fans hope that his lyrics down the road are a little more cogent or relevant.

Lil Baby Disses Rappers Who Use Nail Polish

Still, this isn’t the most pressing question that Lil Baby had to answer as of late, as some other discussions around his name were more about speculation than reactions. When he and Offset launched seemingly random disses at unnamed opps on Instagram, some fans connected the dots and assumed that they actually dissed each other. It turns out that this couldn’t be further from the truth, or at least, that’s what DJ Akademiks reported from an allegedly close source.

It’s still interesting because Lil Baby and Migos beef rumors surfaced years ago, and some fans think that said narrative continues to exist. But they dismissed that gossip multiple times, so we don’t think there’s anything to worry about. As for this random nail polish bar, maybe the “Insecurities” spitter explains it down the line, but if he really caves into that pressure either way, it would probably inspire more questions than answers. Since when did men care so much about what other men did style-wise? Actually, we’d rather not find out…

Boosie Badazz Has Questions About Dwyane Wade’s Sexuality

Boosie Badazz and DJ Vlad’s VladTV platform are pretty much one and the same these days thanks to their many conversations together. Moreover, their most recent sit-down contained some interesting thoughts on Dwyane Wade’s controversial decision to start a nail care line. While this would just be any old business venture under normal circumstances, conventional machismo and the basketball star’s transgender daughter made people jump to conclusions and lash out in outright bigoted ways. That’s what Vlad pushed with this latest discussion, and what the Baton Rouge native had some curious thoughts on.

“I don’t even got to say nothing,” Boosie’s remarks on Dwyane Wade’s nail care line began. “The world is going to say it.” “I mean, look,” DJ Vlad posited. “You have a gay daughter. You can support your kids without having to go through all these extra steps, you know what I’m saying? Like, you can still love your kids and be supportive, you know what I mean? Without having to start a nail polish line and start wearing dresses along with them and wearing lipstick and… You know? Wear wigs and whatever else. Listen, your [daughter] is trans, let [her] be trans. That’s cool. But to have to start a nail polish line… Why? When you’re a superstar athlete in your day, you got all the money you need, still making money, I’m sure. Your wife is making money, like… What’s the point?”

Boosie & Vlad Discuss Dwyane Wade’s Nail Care Brand

“I think you know the answer,” Boosie responded. “I don’t know the answer!” Vlad replied. “Oh, you think that Dwyane is actually…?” “I don’t know,” the rapper expressed. “I mean… He part of the movement. I mean, I don’t like to say too much about those people because I don’t want that to be in my motherf***ing… When people think of me, they think of that.

“A lot of people do, but… I just, you know, he do what he do,” Boosie concluded. “He feel like that’s how he support his… It make me shake my head. Because, you know, I don’t like that, bro. When… I don’t know. He might be living through… I don’t know, I don’t know.”

Drake Clowned Online For His Nail Polish Following Hug With Birdman

Drake is currently in a bitter feud with none other than Kendrick Lamar. Overall, both artist’s fanbases are charged up. For now, it seems like fans are split on who had the better diss track. However, in many online polls, “Euphoria” has been given the edge. Online commentators such as Joe Budden have also given Kendrick the edge, while Drake fans look to poke holes in what K. Dot was saying. It has been fun to watch, and it will be very interesting to see what happens next.

As for Drake, it feels as though he cannot escape the spotlight right now. Regardless of what he does, people are commenting on it in a not-so-positive light. For instance, a video recently went viral that depicts Drake hugging Birdman backstage at a show. Of course, Birdman and Drake have a lot of love for each other, and they go way back. However, fans could not help but notice the blue nail polish that Drizzy was wearing. This led to some homophobic remarks on social media, which is not surprising these days.

“Kendrick won. There is no reason why a straight male should have colored finger nails. Idc,” one person wrote. “This is where I draw the line Drake. I have defended you this whole time..but this is the last offense ‼” said another. Needless to say, these comments feel extremely out of line for such a small thing such as nail polish. However, with Drake in the midst of a rap feud, fans will say almost anything to belittle him. At this point, the comments are probably only fueling him harder for his response.

Lil Baby & DJ Akademiks Feud Over Allegedly Painted Nails

It appears as though Lil Baby and DJ Akademiks are at it again, this time over some allegedly painted nails. Yesterday, Ak took to social media to call the rapper out for a clip from his new music video. In the clip, Lil Baby is seen flipping the bird, and his middle finger looks suspiciously shiny. Ak was quick to make note of this and to accuse the “Greedy” performer of wearing nail polish.

“Dis n***a ain’t been the same since then Michael Rubin parties,” he replied to the clip. “I kno his nails not painted .. man wats going on in rap.” He didn’t stop there, however. He went on to share a photo of Lil Baby alongside some male friends at Rubin’s iconic Independence Day white party last year. “The day we lost Lil Baby,” he captioned the post.

Lil Baby Denies Having Painted Nails

Lil Baby didn’t hesitate to fire back. Shortly after DJ Akademiks posted the accusations, he hopped online to respond. He took to his Instagram Story with a photo of his hand, highlighting his unpainted nails. “Y’all blogs gotta stop just posting anything,” he wrote. “I ain’t painting my MF nails. At this point y’all gotta see n***as like Akademiks got an agenda. Miss me with that weird sh*t (No lol).” While he insists his own nails weren’t painted, he wouldn’t be the first rapper to rock the look.

Drake, for example, frequently flexes his polished nails proudly. According to him, he keeps them polished to prevent himself from biting them. He’s previously called out those hating on him for it, calling the backlash homophobic. What do you think of Lil Baby and DJ Akademiks beefing again? What about the rapper denying having his nails painted? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Drake Says His Painted Nails Have The World Acting Homophobic For The First Time Since “Rich Flex”

As a Scorpio, Drake has become accustomed to triggering extreme reactions in those he crosses paths with. He’s been one of the biggest names in hip-hop for over a decade so the father of one obviously has a lot of fans, but with that sort of fame comes inevitable haters too. The latest decision the world has been criticizing Drizzy for is his manicure, which has transitioned from a yucky yellow to a pretty pink as he’s learned more about the world of nail art.

The Canadian has always been something of a trendsetter, so seeing him experiment with typically feminine things isn’t surprising. As it turns out, however, he actually began painting his nails to curb the habit of biting them. Drake revealed this during an Instagram back-and-forth with Lil Yachty, with the Georgia native trolling his friend on his It’s All a Blur Tour. “Boy got them heavy hangers in his ear,” Lil Boat wrote.

Drake and Lil Yachty Discuss Homophobia

“GET OUT MY COMMENTS,” Champagne Papi quickly responded. “YOU TOLD ME TO PAINT MY NAILS SO I WOULD STOP BITING THEM AND NOW THE WORLD IS BEING HOMOPHOBIC FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE ‘RICH FLEX,’” he went on, referencing a song from Her Loss that previously went viral for Drake’s “zesty” lyrics. “Which wasn’t that long ago now that I think about it,” the Scorpion rapper added. “Wait is the world homophobic? Smh.”

Amid his close friend’s crisis, the “Act Up” writer stepped in to calm him down. “@champagnepapi, woo-sah brother. [You’re] not supposed to have these episodes in public,” Boat joked. “It’s fine, they just don’t get [you] bro #UDIFFERENTAF.” While Lil Yachty has always been a supporter of Drake’s style choices, Andrew Tate simply can’t relate. The embattled podcaster declined to meet up with Champagne Papi due to his perfectly manicured nails, leading the Let’s Start Here artist to mercilessly troll him. Read what Yachty had to say at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

Trinidad James Defends Drake’s Fingernail Polish Choice

Drake is facing some serious backlash for his latest fashion statement. The biggest rapper to ever do it recently polished his nails pink before heading out on tour. And while some people are criticizing him for the choice, Trinidad James is out here singing his praises. “I love that for him,” James said when asked by TMZ about Drake’s nails. “There’s a lot of genders out here that people want to keep you boxed in about… He’s doing it because he wants to do it.”

Trinidad James has been known for being eccentric. In the video filmed at the LAX airport, where Trinidad offers his opinion on Drake’s nails, the cameraman flashes to his nails, which are done up in a groovy green and accents. A champion of gender fluidity, James is glad Drake is doing exactly what he wants to do. “It’s an amazing thing to see,” he says with a big smile on his face.

Trinidad James & Drake Out Here For Nail Polish

The TMZ interviewer name-drops a few other musical artists who like to paint their nails as well, including Machine Gun Kelly and Lil Yachty. But with Drake now entering the nail polish chat, who knows if this trend will become mainstream? Trinidad James did offer a little bit of a caveat, though: “His nails ain’t better than mine.” He flashes his nails for the camera again, showcasing how long he’s been in the nail polish game.

“Aesthetics is personal,” Trinidad muses, claiming that he’s glad Drizzy is now feeling comfortable with his own aesthetics. “I [have] been comfortable,” he says, talking about embracing who Trinidad is on the inside, no matter what the critics might say. He’s so comfortable that he’s dropping $7,000 on his nails, an astronomical amount for feeling fresh. While both artists are blowing the roof off of gender stereotypes, Trinidad tells Drizzy to come out to Brooklyn to get some real nails and truly show off: “If he really [wants] to be about that life, come holla at some real people.”

Trippie Redd Reveals To Wack 100 Why He Paints His Nails

An easily overlooked trend has taken over the rap scene in recent years: rappers painting their nails. From A$AP Rocky to NBA YoungBoy, even to Kid Cudi, many top charting artists have turned to nail polish to add flare to their look. Additionally, Trippie Redd is amongst the men following this rockstar-esque beauty trend, and he spoke out about why he does it. His response was triggered based on an Instagram post by veteran music manager Wack 100. In the post, Wack asked for clarity on this trend.

By no means was Wack attacking rappers who wear colors on their nails. According to HipHopDX, he respectfully clarified where he was coming from. “To to the youngsters out there, I’m hearing something about emo and all this other shit. Can y’all leave a comment down below on what the fingernail polish represent?” he continued, “because of some of the youngsters I mentioned that I know, I don’t think it means it that [they’re feminine]. I just think it’s another type of movement.” Furthermore, Wack explained where his confusion remained. He emphasized on how he’s a “’70s baby” whose trends included wearing only one earring and sagging pants. Additionally, he described how these movements were often looked down on by older generations, similar to how nail polish on rappers is perceived now.

Trippie’s Method Of Self Care

The post had attracted the attention of Trippie, who took to the comment section to respond. Trippie responded simply: “It’s a way of expressing ur feelings, being true to your self and self-care.” The 23-year-old rapper has rocked many different nail art looks over the years, including smiley faces, an homage to 2Pac, and a go-to classic matte black.

Wack’s question hasn’t been the only time where rappers wearing nail polish has been questioned. In fact, Soulja Boy took a more aggressive stance on the matter when he attacked rappers for painting their nails and wearing lipstick. He urged these men to “stop playing,” and claimed he would never do such a thing. The Chicago rapper’s rant rubbed NBA YoungBoy the wrong way, and his response revealed that his feelings were hurt. Previously, YoungBoy had explained his own reasonings for decorating his body, explaining that “I like to look in the mirror and see everything black. Like my eyes and shit. That’s one hundred percent real! That’s me being myself. I feel comfortable that way … It give me like the goth feeling, like rockstars.”
