The Drake and Kendrick Lamar beef may be “over” as far as new songs go, but fans are still talking about it and debating over it as if it just broke out yesterday. Moreover, there have been a whole lot of takes on the situation from affiliates, fellow rappers, hip-hop media figures, pop culture icons, and even politicians, businesspeople, sports legends, and so many more. But for some stars, this whole feud is just another way to divide our attention away from more pressing issues that should inspire more unity. Stevie Wonder definitely agrees, as he recently spoke to TMZ at an airport about his thoughts on the matter.

“Any kind of war is bad for the world,” Stevie Wonder said of the Drake and Kendrick Lamar feud, which has so far only been good for record labels. “Any kind of war. I have no bad feelings, I just think that the world needs to focus on what’s going on. ‘Cause those things are just distractions. Do you know the wars that are going on right now? Do you know the homelessness that’s going on right now? Can’t you see?”

Stevie Wonder’s Take On Drake Versus Kendrick Lamar

In terms of other reactions to the Drake and Kendrick Lamar battle, a more close source when it comes to the hip-hop game -– and a vital one, in this specific case -– may have offered his own take on the situation. 21 Savage has loyalties to both the Toronto superstar and to the producer of the beef-igniting “Like That,” Metro Boomin. However, his most recent tweet led some fans to speculate that he finally broke his silence on the matter, and the insinuated take within might surprise you. Still, this is just based off of interpretation of a vague tweet that hasn’t been confirmed to really be linked to the feud.

Meanwhile, Drake and Kendrick Lamar will likely not distract Stevie Wonder from continuing to advocate against A.I. technology in music. In fact, it would be very interesting to hear his take on Drizzy’s “Taylor Made Freestyle” diss. Considering that it recreates the voices of Tupac and Snoop Dogg through that technology, we can’t imagine it’ll be kind criticism. Diddy Has Reportedly Filed To Have The Jane Doe Sexual Assault Lawsuit Dismissed Citing Multiple Reasons

Since November 2023, Diddy has been drowning in a sea of lawsuits. While Cassie’s bombshell case with the tipping point, unfortunately for the former head of Revolt it wasn’t the last (see more here). Now, the “Act Bad” rapper and his legal team are working their way through each case in court.

According to TMZ, yesterday (May 10), Diddy’s attorneys reportedly filed have the sexual assault allegations submitted by a Jane Doe dismissed. This marks the second attempt by Diddy to have the courts toss out an alleged victims’ claims. Similar to his first dismissal filing (in a separate case), in documents Diddy’s attorneys argue that the statute of limitations basis for Doe’s lawsuit has lapsed. The representatives also argue that Doe “didn’t include many pertinent details outside of her alleged assault.” Lastly, they maintain Diddy did not do what Doe alleged.

The sparse amendments to the original Complaint cannot remedy the falsehoods and incurable defects in the new pleading. Like the original Complaint, it fails to state any viable claim and must be dismissed.

Plaintiff cannot allege what day or time of year the alleged incident occurred, yet purports to miraculously recall the most prurient details with specificity. Accordingly, this case should be dismissed now, with prejudice, to protect the Combs Defendants from further reputational injury and before more party and judicial resources are squandered.

In Doe’s original filing she claimed to have met Bad Boy Records president Harve Pierre in Detroit back in 2003 when she was 17 years old. After that interaction, Doe stated she was flown to New York City and taken to Diddy’s studio. Once there Doe alleged she was supplied with drugs and alcohol then gang raped. Doe included photos from the alleged night in her lawsuit.

Travis Scott is hitting up various European countries later this year to continue his Circus Maximus tour, and it looks like demand hasn’t slowed down one bit. Moreover, he reportedly sold out stadium shows in Italy, Germany, and England (specifically London) in a single day, yet it’s unclear whether the other dates in countries like the Netherlands, Poland, Belgium, or other U.K. cities are also sold out. Either way, you’d better refresh that tour page quick, because it seems like tickets are selling out fast for these concerts. This continues a lot of Cactus Jack hype these days, including the recently announced Nike Shark-A-Don sneaker.

Furthermore, another Travis Scott promo piece that has fans very excited and ready to sell it out is whatever he’s cooking with Kanye West. They recently appeared in a new Cactus Jack ad centered around their children, and we don’t yet know exactly what they have planned or what they’re going to come out with. Either way, fans are going absolutely wild over the prospect of another collaboration from the “Piss On Your Grave” duo, whether it’s new music, clothes, visual projects, or pretty much anything. For that, we’ll have to wait and see, and who knows; maybe Ye pops out for one of these sold-out dates.

Travis Scott Sells Out Various Europe Shows In A Day

Elsewhere, Travis Scott is still reckoning with the consequences of the 2021 Astroworld tragedy, and he’s not completely free to go just yet. While he and Live Nation settled nine civil lawsuits over wrongful deaths that the music festival’s crowd crush caused, one remains open. It’s impossible to tell whether or not this will fully go to trial given how complicated and back-and-forth the situation has been thus far. All we can hope for is that the achieved outcome is one that the mourning family feels satisfied or vindicated with, as they are the main people to consider in seeking this accountability.

Meanwhile, Travis Scott’s European leg is building up to be a pretty exciting run of shows that hopefully continue to prove his higher awareness and safety prioritization in the face of these lawsuits and cases. It will still be a long road for him to fully reckon with this tragedy, one that he traveled a lot of already with his 2023 album UTOPIA. Moreover, in the past week specifically, he experienced a shooting in his Bridle Path neighborhood that struck and hospitalized an alleged security guard, plus two separate incidents of attempted trespassing on his property. None of these incidents have been confirmed to be linked to the K.Dot beef, and at press time, any explanation for them remains highly speculative and unconfirmed by authorities. Regardless, The Boy recently took to his Instagram Story to ask helicopters circling his home to let him sleep and to change their schedule.

“@cp24breakingnews can we discuss the chopper flight times over the house cause I won’t lie I’m trying to sleep [heart emoji],” Drake wrote on his Instagram Story on Saturday morning (May 11). “Anytime after 3pm works great for me.” While some Kendrick Lamar Stans immediately started to clown this statement, he definitely deserves some rest regardless of what’s going on with their feud. Security threats like that are no joke and downplaying them reveals a misplaced obsession with having a “winner” in hip-hop. This adds onto other personal developments in the Toronto superstar’s life, including re-listing his California mansion for sale.

After K.Dot outright dissed him and J. Cole on “Like That,” people noticed other subliminal shots at Drizzy and assumed that all of the album’s collaborators were explicitly against him. Of course, this is just speculation and this tweet really could mean anything, but it just lines up too well for the presumption not to pop up in your head.

Amid the fallout from Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s recent lyrical feud, someone new has joined the conversation, who’s now been dubbed “the Riddler.” Today, a mysterious Twitter user hopped online to show off Drake’s alleged belongings. The items appear to be the same ones featured in Kendrick Lamar’s original “Meet The Grahams” cover art. In an eerie clip, the individual plays the diss track on a laptop, panning over to reveal the items.

“#1. King @kendricklamar is not a liar, and I am not a thief!” they captioned the post. “#2. Mr. Aubrey Graham (@Drake) & Mr. Livingston Allen (@Akademiks) have until noon Monday 5/13/24 to retract your claims of theft, or my attorney Ms. Adrienne Edward and I will exhaust every legal option available.” At the time of writing, it remains unclear exactly who the person is. They didn’t stop there, however.

They then went on to share a photo of security footage from the Mark Hotel, where Drake stayed in January 2023. “To Mr. Aubrey Graham (@Drake ), may this photo help jog your memory as to where you discarded those items. The issue in the photo should also jog your memory. Jimmy Brooks would not have been proud of you that night,” the user wrote. A subsequent Tweet reads, “You’ve had many things discarded on your behalf over the years. I wonder if you can remember them all…”

Nicki Minaj’s Team Called Out By Concert Promoter To Collect Lawsuit Judgement

Nicki Minaj left the Met Gala only to find herself in another legal tight spot, although this seems like it has little to do with her own actions or statements. Moreover, according to court documents reportedly obtained by RadarOnline, a former concert promoter by the name of BS Associates Company Limited (BSA) requested a L.A. Superior Court judge to provide access to third-party witnesses for questioning in their attempts to speak to her team about her assets as they try to collect a million-dollar judgement from her. They previously received a $1.4 million award from Minaj’s company, Pink Personality, for a 2018 deal to perform in China that fell through.

Furthermore, BSA requested that Nicki Minaj’s business manager, an accountant from the NKSFB firm, a William Morris Endeavor agent, and her financial advisor be ordered to appear in court to answer questions about the rapper’s assets. BSA also wants access to Pink Personality records and those of its affiliates in order to “aid the satisfaction of the Judgement” by any means necessary. This includes not only looking at her own assets and business partnerships, but that of Pink Personality and the affiliated parties that either got a mention in this filing or escaped it. However, the judge in this case still hasn’t ruled whether the court will allow this proposal to rope the wider team into this.

Initially, BSA filed an arbitration claim against Pink Personality in 2022 over allegations that Nicki Minaj agreed to a September 18, 2018 concert. They claim that they sent a seven-figure amount for her CAA agents to hold in an escrow account. Not only that, but the suit alleges that Queen Barb asked for them to release $250,000 from this account two weeks before the scheduled show, which they complied with. Still, she did not go to the concert, and the promoter’s accusations also included the supposition that they attempted to reschedule the show.

Meanwhile, this filing also claims that Nicki Minaj considered a rescheduling but only if they released “additional funds” from the escrow as a “sign of good faith, which they allegedly did through another $250K release. But despite reportedly repeated attempts, she did not reschedule the performance, and BSA got $1.4 million in judgement from Pink Personality in arbitration, plus interest. Following a November 2023 request for L.A. Superior Court to confirm the arbitration award and begin the collection process, it seems like BSA is now on the hunt for their due cash. We’ll see whether this is just a bump in the road or a larger issue for the superstar.
