Diddy’s Former Assistant Wasn’t “Surprised” By Alleged Assault Video

Suzi Siegel, a former assistant of Diddy’s, says she wasn’t surprised by the video appearing to show him assaulting Cassie at a hotel in Los Angeles in 2016. Siegel sat down with CNN for an interview after the outlet published the footage on Friday. It shows Diddy seemingly throwing Cassie to the ground and kicking her violently.

Siegel worked with Diddy from 2008 to 2009. She noted that she “never saw him speak harshly to her or be abusive toward her or anything like that.” Despite that, she added: “I rode in limos with them, I went to parties with them. I guess what I would say is, even though I never saw anything that could corroborate what’s in that lawsuit and what we just saw, there was not one cell in my body that was surprised.”

She continued: “I would say that I was around him a lot and I got a feeling for who he was. I didn’t see anything that could get him in trouble. But I think that [there’s a] power dynamic in a situation like that — especially her, at the beginning of her career, so young and beautiful and talented.” Siegel concluded: “Obviously, I saw it with the rest of America today. But when I saw it, I knew that it was something that he could be capable of.” Check out her full comments below.

Cassie Had Visible Bruises During Film Premiere Days After Diddy’s Alleged Hotel Attack: Report

Cassie appeared to attend the premiere of the film, The Perfect Match, with visible bruises on her body following and alleged altercation with Diddy just days before, according to a new report from TMZ. The outlet cites pictures from the red carpet, in which a small bruise is visible on her shoulder. The report comes after CNN shared security footage of the Bad Boy mogul appearing to assault Cassie in a hotel before the 2016 premiere.

Cassie previously referenced an incident at the hotel in question in her lawsuit against Diddy from last November. Within a day of filing the complaint, she and Diddy settled the case. Afterward, several other alleged victims came forward with lawsuits of their own against Diddy.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has confirmed that Diddy will not face criminal charges over the video. While they labeled the clip “disturbing and difficult to watch,” they noted that the statute of limitations has long-since passed. The office explained: “If the conduct depicted occurred in 2016, unfortunately we would be unable to charge as the conduct would have occurred beyond the timeline where a crime of assault can be prosecuted. As of today, law enforcement has not presented a case related to the attack depicted in the video against Mr. Combs, but we encourage anyone who has been a victim or witness to a crime to report it to law enforcement or reach out to our office for support from our Bureau of Victims Services.”

Diddy has denied the allegations against him for months but hasn’t spoken out since CNN published the latest video. Be on the lookout for further updates on Cassie and Diddy on HotNewHipHop.

Joe Budden Explains Decision To Cut Diddy Segment From Latest Podcast

Joe Budden says he’ll be addressing the resurfaced video of Diddy appearing to assault Cassie during a future episode of his podcast after fans noticed he cut his initial reaction from the “Two Brands, One Stone” episode. He explained his decision to do so while speaking on X Spaces on Saturday. CNN released the disturbing footage the afternoon before.

One user on social media noticed that the timestamp for a discussion about the situation was still in the description of the episode in question. “We were in the middle of our show when that news broke,” Joe explained to his fans. “So we spoke about it for four minutes and at the end before Sleepers [segment] we spoke about it again for another four minutes and we went on about our day.”

We gonna get to it on [Wednesday’s episode]. I have absolutely zero ties with Diddy or anybody Diddy related. Yesterday was my very first time seeing something like that and it was tough to watch for many reasons.” Check out Budden’s full explanation of his decision below.

Diddy Sparks Chris Brown Debate Online Following Disturbing Cassie Video

Fans on social media have been comparing Diddy and Chris Brown following the recent release of security footage from 2016 that appears to show the Bad Boy mogul assaulting his then-partner, Cassie, at a hotel in Los Angeles. Brown infamously pleaded guilty to felony assault following an altercation with Rihanna back in 2009. The comparisons arose when one user tweeted out: “I want y’all to drag Diddy the same way yall been doing Chris Brown since 2009.” The post has amassed over 15,000 retweets and 60,000 likes.

“I’ve said it before I’ll say it again. People Demonized CB not for what he did. But who he did it to,” one user argued in response. Another wrote: “Not to excuse Chris’s actions because they were wrong but Chris was a teenager who was a victim of witnessing domestic violence in his home and he willingly received professional medical help to reform himself.” One more added: “They demonized him because he did too much‼ Chris could have defused her, but decided to abuse her losing his temper. He deserved every bit of backlash he received.”

Today, the late Young Dolph’s longtime partner Mia Jaye took to social media to air her frustrations with the justice system. The two men accused of killing the Memphis icon in November 2021, Justin Johnson and Cornelius Smith Jr., are currently awaiting trial. They’re being held without bail. Common Claims Kanye West Wrote “Heard ‘Em Say” In Just 10 Minutes

Common says Kanye West wrote his iconic Late Registration hit, “Heard ‘Em Say,” in under just 10 minutes. He recalled watching the legendary rapper put the song together during a recent interview with Carmelo Anthony and The Kid Mero on their 7PM in Brooklyn podcast. The topic of the song arose while discussing some of the beats Common has passed on over the years.

“I got more memories of joints I passed on, beats that he made for me,” he said. “Like, that song ‘Wouldn’t Get Far’ [by The Game]. And then ‘Dreams’ [also by The Game]. And even some of Kanye’s, like a lot of his Late Registration album. ‘I Wonder’ or even the song ‘Heard ‘Em Say’ — he made that beat for me. He made that beat and I was like, ‘This beat dope.’ He said, ‘Man, you want it?’ It didn’t feel like it was fitting my album. So I was like, ‘Nah, you good.’ He said, ‘Are you sure?’ I was like, ‘Nah, I’m good.’”

From there, he mentioned how Ye came up with “Heard ‘Em Say” in only 10 minutes. “I promise you, he wrote that song in 10 minutes. I sat there and watched this man write the song,” he claimed. “He had just made the beat and he wrote the song. The whole song. I said, ‘Yo, this was meant for you.’ I can’t front, I wasn’t gonna do what he did to that beat. Sometimes you gotta know that. But as I look back, that beat was cold. ‘I Wonder’ was dope. There’s at least 10 Ye beats out there that I passed on. Even on one [Graduation], he said, ‘Common passed on this beat, I made it to a jam/ Everything I’m not made me everything I am.’” Check out the full clip below.

Yung Miami’s Questionable Comment Sparks Debate As Diddy & Cassie Footage Goes Viral

Yesterday, CNN exclusively obtained disturbing 2016 footage of Diddy and his ex-girlfriend Cassie, which has since gone viral. In the footage, he’s seen following her out of a hotel room, and seemingly pulling her to the ground. He then appears to kick her and attempt to drag her back through the hallway. As the footage makes its rounds online, countless social media users and peers are weighing in, expressing shock and disgust over the alleged assault.

Amid all of the talk surrounding the graphic footage, commenters began to call Diddy’s non-exclusive fling Yung Miami into question, causing her to trend on Twitter/X yesterday. Now, they’ve dug up an old Instagram comment written by the City Girls performer, in which she responds to a fan who brought up Cassie’s allegations against Diddy. For those who don’t recall, the singer filed a now-settled lawsuit against the mogul in November of last year, accusing him of sexual assault, domestic violence, and more.

Yung Miami Dismisses Fan’s Comment About Cassie

“You ain’t learning from Cassie sista,” the fan commented underneath a photo of her and Diddy. At the time, Yung Miami seemed to brush the comment off, simply telling the fan “I think you under the wrong b*tch page LMAOOOOO.” The resurfaced remark has managed to spark a debate in The Neighborhood Talk‘s comments section, as Instagram users argue about whether or not the Caresha Please host should have to answer for Diddy’s alleged crimes.

While many believe that she should break her silence on the graphic footage of Diddy allegedly assaulting Cassie, others are coming to her defense. What do you think of social media users criticizing Yung Miami for the way she previously responded to a comment about Cassie? Do you believe that social media users are being too harsh, or not? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

The Frantic 911 Call Audio From Lil Baby’s Alleged Music Video Shooting Has Surfaced

New details have emerged following a tragic incident on the set of Lil Baby’s music video.

On May 14, Fox 5 reported that the “Crazy” rapper was forced to halt filming in Atlanta, Georgia after a shooting supposedly took place, injuring three people.

In its initial report, the outlet included gruesome details about the alleged victims (a 23-year-old man, a 24-year-old man, and a 27-year-old). Now, TMZ has obtained and shared the 911 call audio from the supposed day in question.

During the frantic conversation, an operator shifted between two unnamed individuals. The first caller seemed to be in closer proximity to the incident. As the person attempted to identify the nearest cross street for emergency medical services (which the public later learned was near a commercial strip on Verbena Street), other individuals decided to transport the gentleman suffering from a gun shot wound to the neck to avoid a delay.

Later in the recording, another individual provided a calm, detailed account of what happened. Before the call ended, the operator instructed the caller to call back if the alleged assailant returned to the area.

In a statement to Fox 5, Atlanta’s mayor Ralph Woolfolk seemingly confirmed that Lil Baby was not harmed or injured in the shooting. “The people who were shot were not part of the video production team,” he said. “But there may have been individuals involved in the totality of the production.”

Lil Baby has not released a statement regarding the incident. Instead, today (May 18), he took to his official Instagram to further tease his upcoming collaboration with Central Cee.

Key Glock, Mach-Hommy & More Went Full Force On Our New “Fire Emoji” Playlist Update: Stream

HotNewHipHop‘s Fire Emoji playlist is back to round up the best of the best hip-hop releases that came out this week, and we have a nice balance of singles and projects. First up is the latest banger from Key Glock, “F**k Around & Find Out,” which trades out his usual Memphis griminess for a more upbeat bounce. Regardless, Glizock flows like butter on here, and no style in the world can take his city out of his cadence, confidence, or diction. As for one of the best hip-hop albums this week (or year so far, frankly), Mach-Hommy returns with #RICHAXXHAITIAN. While the whole project is stacked with astonishments by every metric, we’d recommend the soulful “SONJE” with Hephzibah as a taster.

Elsewhere on Fire Emoji, the AOTY contenders continue with Rapsody’s Please Don’t Cry, which once again shows off her range and skillset as a top-tier MC. Of course, a Lil Wayne feature on “Raw,” as well as Niko Brim, would raise excited eyebrows, but their chemistry is something that somehow managed to exceed expectations. Another match made in heaven is Chance The Rapper’s collaboration with DJ Premier, “Together.” Star Line Gallery is shaping up to potentially be one of the most tender and touching hip-hop albums of the past couple of years, something that fans can’t wait for.

HNHH Fire Emoji Playlist: Stream

There’s one more new album we wanted to shout out on Fire Emoji this week, and that’s A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie’s Better Off Alone. While there are a lot of solo cuts here, the extensive tracklist also provides some solid collabs such as the woozy Cash Cobain team-up, “Body.” In fact, Cobain has another feature on the playlist this week, as NAV remixed Cash and Diany Dior’s “Favorite Lady.” It’s another blend of Jersey club, drill, and more minimal plugg and electronic sounds fused with pop trap, and checks the boxes well enough.

Finally, we’d be remiss not to mention Lupe Fiasco’s titular single for his upcoming project, “Samurai,” which is as classy as it is enveloping. If you’re looking for something more energetic, don’t head out before bumping 42 Dugg’s gritty “Win Wit Us.” Let us know what your favorite Fire Emoji release was this week, as well as what else we missed, down in the comments section below. Check out the playlist above and, as always, check back in with HNHH for more amazing music releases around the clock.
