Kanye West Sued For Sexual Harassment: What We Know

Lauren Pisciotta, Kanye West’s former chief of staff, is suing him for sexual harassment, wrongful termination, and breach of contract, according to a TMZ report. In her suit, Pisciotta outlines several alleged sexual texts, videos, and situations in which the “Off The Grid” rapper made her feel unsafe. Kanye West’s team have vehemently denied the accusations listed in the sexual harassment suit, and have announced plans to file a countersuit. Ye claims that not only was the alleged sexual nature of his relationship with Lauren Pisciotta fully consensual, but that she often made advances toward him which he patently refused. Both sides of the aisle are hurling accusations at each other, and the full truth has yet to come to light. So, let’s dive into the details of Kanye West’s personal and business relationship with Pisciotta, and unpack the allegations laid out in the sexual harassment lawsuit.

Pisciotta Joined Ye’s Team In 2021

When Kanye first hired Lauren Pisciotta as his Executive Assistant/Personal Assistant in July 2021, she was allegedly making over $1 million per year as an OnlyFans model. According to her testimony, West offered to match this salary in order to coerce her away from the OnlyFans platform, explaining that he felt her work was not “God-like.” After working together for less than a year, Ye promoted her to Yeezy’s chief of staff, and increased her annual salary to a shocking $4 million. The pair parted ways in October 2022, with Kanye allegedly offering to pay Lauren Pisciotta a severance package of $3 million.

According to Pisciotta, she was never paid her six-figure severance deal, prompting her to file a suit against Kanye West for breach of contract, in addition to her sexual harassment case. The suit claims that Kanye would frequently masturbate during phone calls with the former chief of staff, made numerous lewd advances, and sent bizarre sexually charged texts on multiple occasions. One particularly vulgar text submitted to the court reads “Is my d*** racist? It is. This f***ing racist d*** of mine. I going to beat this f***ing racist d*** for being f***ing racist. I’m going to stare at pictures of white woman with black asses and beat the s*** out of my racist d*** … Beating the s*** out of his big black c***.”

Kanye’s Team Fires Back

In response to the sexual harassment allegations, Kanye West and his team have voraciously denied any wrongdoing, and have alleged that Lauren Pisciotta sought to coerce the superstar into a sexual relationship. Ye claims that after rejecting Pisciotta’s advances in 2022, she became violent, erratic, and attempted to blackmail him. Kanye West’s lawyers have referred to the sexual harassment suit as “baseless,” and even claim, “Ms. Pisciotta stole [Ye’s] cell phone in an attempt to destroy phone records that would contradict her claims, all of which have been preserved.”

Kanye’s legal team claims they terminated Lauren Pisciotta because she was unqualified for the position and demanded increasingly higher wages, while Pisciotta provided no reason for her termination. According to Kanye’s lawyers, Pisciotta demanded that the “Runaway” rapper buy her a Lamborghini and multiple Birkin bags, in addition to her $4 million salary. As the case drags on, more details are sure to emerge from both sides.

At the beginning of the year, months after she released her debut project Like..?, Ice Spice announced her debut album and revealed that it would be called Y2K. The title aligns with the rapper’s birthday which falls on January 1, 2000. At the time, Ice Spice said that Y2K would arrive at some point this year, and true to her word, the rapper revealed that the project will indeed come out this summer.

In posts she shared on her social media pages, Ice Spice announced that Y2K will be released on July 12. “HIIIII >.<,” she wrote in her posts. “THE ALBUM WILL BE DROPPING JULY 26TH !!!! pre-save now ;*.” Ice Spice shared a pre-save link to the project and also unveiled the album’s artwork which depicts her standing in front of a wall of concrete block by subway stairwell with her back facing the viewer. “Ice Spice” is written in graffiti font on the cover, as is “Y2K” which appears on a trash can beside her.

So far, Y2K is led by one single, “Gimme A Light,” which Ice Spice released last month. The track sampled Sean Paul’s 2002 hit “Gimme The Light” with a similar ode to dancefloors and weed, but with a spicy twist. Prior to that, she jumped on Cash Cobain and Bay Swag’s “Fisherrr” for a new remix and released “Think U The Sh*t (Fart)” which she later confirmed was a Latto diss.

You can view Ice Spice’s announcement for Y2K in the post above.

Y2K is out 7/12 via Columbia Records. Find out more information here.

Jermaine Dupri Uses Sexyy Red’s Album Sales To Illustrate The Current State Of Hip-Hop And The Perils Of Streaming

Jermaine Dupri is someone who has been around the music industry for many years. Overall, he has lots of experience, and he has the resume to speak freely on the rap game and how the industry operates these days. In fact, Dupri was at the United Masters’ SelectCon conference in Atlanta recently, where he got to speak with Steve Stoute on the state of hip-hop. It was here where he referenced Sexyy Red’s album sales and noted that her numbers are indicative of what’s plaguing rap right now.

For Dupri, album sales are low right now, yet artists are still being hyped up and pushed to the forefront. “In the era that I came in the music industry, if you sold 28,000 copies, you didn’t get no other chance to walk in the building again,” Dupri explained. “N****s was not talking to you if you sold 28,000 records. It’s such a disconnect between people understanding the streaming situation and actually what you looking at. […] I came from an era where the numbers were 80,000 100, 200, 800, 900. This feels like it’s going backwards to me.”

Jermaine Dupri And Steve Stoute Debate

During the conversation, Steve Stoute offered a counterpoint. In his eyes, the low album sales are due to the fact that the streaming equivalents don’t make a lot of sense. You need 1500 streams to equal one album sale. That means 1.5 million streams is only 1000 albums. This makes it extremely difficult for artists to achieve the numbers that Dupri is talking about. That said, one has to wonder if the equivalent unit measurement will ever be changed. As it stands, some things just don’t add up.

Let us know what you think about this take from Jermaine Dupri, in the comments section down below. Do you believe that the industry is hyping up the wrong artists? How do you feel about the way album sales are counted these days especially when it comes to streaming numbers? Latto & GloRilla Put On A Hilarious Dance Battle After A Megan Thee Stallion Tour Stop: Watch

It seems that almost every headline coming out of the Megan Thee Stallion’s tour has been a positive one. Her Hot Girl Summer Tour has been filling up arenas with ease and her “Hotties” have been soaking up all the fun. Two of her most recent shows took place in Atlanta and during that time her, Latto, and GloRilla were rocking the stage. The duo of Meg and Big Latto were making some noise with their forthcoming remix of “Sunday Service”. Fans were going nuts over the collab and that should be dropping fairly soon. This time, though, GloRilla and Latto are the ones having some fun, as the two engaged in friendly dance battles.

According to AllHipHop, round one started right after the last ATL stop. Glo and Latto got down to “Wanna Be”, the former and Megan’s first collaboration. The Houston rapper crowned Ms. Atlanta the winner after twerking up a storm with her “manilla vanilla clappas” while wearing a red Dior durag over her face. Megan taunted Glo in the IG voiceover post below, basically telling her to get back on the dancefloor for round two.

“Glo, I really just think y’all gone have to have a muthaf***in rematch. She definitely ate you up friend. And she left the rag on your head? You about to let Latto do you like that, Glo?”. After exchanging words on X, the ladies stepped into the ring for the finale. Latto shared the second dance off (the video above), with a scoreboard. The “Big Energy” MC went on to take W 4-2, but Glo hilariously gave some reasons as to why she took the L. “I clearly won. She did da same twerk twice & I had heels on yall kissing a** cause if I woulda start twerking I woulda got eliminated”.

Sean Kingston Is Out On $100,000 Bond

Sean Kingston posted a $100,000 bond to walk out of jail in Broward County, Florida on Tuesday following last month’s arrest on various charges. CBS News Miami published footage of the singer departing the facility with a white t-shirt covering his face before quickly hopping in a vehicle outside. He stands accused of stealing money, jewelry, a Cadillac Escalade SUV, and furniture by allegedly defrauding multiple businesses. His charges include grand theft, fraud, criminal use of personal identification, and violation of probation for trafficking stolen property.

Kingston’s attorney, Bob Rosenblatt, says they plan to file a not-guilty plea and are “very confident” in a jury trial. “Well, I don’t know who is claiming they owe money. You know, we were aware of the watches, we are aware of the TV issue,” Rosenblatt stated. “If there are other issues I’m not sure about… It’s a breach of contract. There’s no fraud here. There’s no organized fraud at all.”

As caught by CBS, she previously pleaded guilty to bank fraud for stealing over $160,000 in 2006. She served over a year in prison at the time.

Amid news of the arrests, Kingston teamed up with NBA YoungBoy for the new single, “Why Oh Why.” He’s best known for his run of hits in the 2000s, with his iconic single, “Beautiful Girls”, peaking atop the Billboard Hot 100 in 2007. Kanye West Will Countersue His Ex-Assistant For Extortion Over Her Claims Of Sexual Harassment

Earlier this week, Kanye West was levied with claims of sexual harassment from his former assistant as well as accusations of breach of contract, wrongful termination, and hostile work environment. Lauren Pisciotta, who began working with West after meeting him during is Donda era, says the musician and fashion designer sent her several vulgar texts during her employment under him. Now, West is responding to those claims and shared plans to countersue Pisciotta for her accusations.

TMZ reports that Kanye’s legal team gave them a statement in response to Pisciotta’s claims. “In response to these baseless allegations, Ye will be filing a lawsuit against Ms. Pisciotta, who actively pursued him sexually to coerce employment and other material benefits, then engaged in blackmail and extortion when her advances were rejected,” West’s team told the publication. “It is evident that Ms. Pisciotta leveraged her association with Ye and his company, and her proximity to him, to seek material gains, clout, and employment through inappropriate means.”

They also accused Pisciotta of attempting to steal West’s phone in order to delete evidence that would prove her accusations were false. This evidence includes nude images that Pisciotta allegedly sent to West as well as her attempts to solicit him for sex and requests for a luxury items like a Birkin bag and a Lamborghini that were both denied.

Kanye’s legal team also denied Pisciotta’s wrongful termination claim, saying that her work with Kanye came to an end because she was unqualified, made outrageous salary demands, and engaged in “lascivious, unhinged conduct.” They go on to say that once her requests were denied, Pisciotta attempted to extort and blackmail Kanye and his team with demands in the tens of millions of dollars prior to her lawsuit.

Drake Hit With A Flurry Of Unfortunate Jokes And Snide Comments Following Kids’ Choice Awards Announcement

During his feud with Kendrick Lamar, Drake was hit with some incredibly heavy allegations. Overall, the biggest one was that he liked underage girls. Furthermore, Kendrick accused the megastar of consistently employing sex offenders, and allowing his child around them. These are allegations that were made on songs like “Meet The Grahams” and “Not Like Us.” Eventually, Drake came out and replied to these allegations on “The Heart Part 6.”

“Drake is not a name that you gon’ see on no sex offender list, Eazy-Duz-It/ You mentionin’ A minor, but n****s gotta B sharp and tell the fans, ‘Who was it?’/ You thought you left D flat, D major,” he rapped. Unfortunately for Drake, his latest awards nomination has proven to be an unfortunate one, and there wasn’t really anything he could do about it. As Complex reported on Tuesday, he is now up for a Kids’ Choice Award. He will be battling The Weeknd, Travis Scott, Post Malone, and Usher for Favorite Male Artist.

Drake Gets A Nomination

Following this news, fans rushed to Twitter to post memes filled with Kendrick’s allegations against Drizzy. Clips from “Meet The Grahams” and “Not Like Us” were running rampant, while others simply looked to remix the lyrics to those songs. It was all very unfortunate, but indicative of how the internet operates these days. Now that Kendrick has planted that seed, it will be hard for Drake to separate himself from the jokes. Only time will tell whether or not fans opt to forget or continue the memes for years to come.

Kendrick Lamar Goes Viral With Old Ghostwriting Comments Following Baby Keem Reference Track Debacle

Kendrick Lamar has been in the news quite a bit this year thanks to his feud with Drake. Overall, it seems as though he has come away with the win. However, the artist is being scrutinized for some of his past comments on hip-hop. For instance, fans recently dug up what he had to say about ghostwriting during a feature in Rolling Stone. As it turns out, these comments are being brought up again as a recent Kendrick Lamar reference for Baby Keem’s song “Bullies” has been making the rounds online.

“It depends on what arena you’re putting yourself in. I called myself the best rapper. I cannot call myself the best rapper if I have a ghostwriter,” Lamar noted. “If you’re saying you’re a different type of artist and you don’t really care about the art form of being the best rapper, then so be it. Make great music. But the title, it won’t be there.” While some may call out hypocrisy here, it should be noted that Baby Keem has never proclaimed to be the greatest rapper in the world.

Kendrick Lamar Has Been Vocal About Ghostwriters In The Past

Interestingly enough, this Kendrick reference track disproves one of Drake’s more confusing bars on “Family Matters.” He made the erroneous claim that Kendrick has only been hot when Baby Keem writes for him. It was a bar that fans called out for being cap right away. Although with this latest reference track, it feels as though Drake’s now-infamous line has been buried, once and for all.

Let us know what you think of Kendrick Lamar’s old comments, down below. Do you believe that his opinion has been invalidated now that it is known he has given Baby Keem reference tracks? How do you feel about ghostwriters in hip-hop these days? Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. Ice Cube Was Furious With Pete Rock For Producing Common’s Diss

Ice Cube and Common have become two of the most revered elder-statesmen in hip-hop. They went from critical darlings to crossover stars who landed major roles in film and television. They also hated each other during the 1990s. Cube and Com went at each other’s throats during the most dangerous period in the genre’s history, and it took the urging of Minister Louis Farrakhan for them to settle their differences. They weren’t the only two people involved in the beef, however. Pete Rock told his side of the story during a recent episode of Drink Champs.

Pete Rock recounted his legendary career during the podcast. He spoke on his falling out with former partner, CL Smooth, and his upcoming album with Common (the other guest). What listeners didn’t see coming, though, was Rock’s recollection of how much Ice Cube hated him. The producer laced the track for Common’s diss, “The B*tch In Yoo,” so Cube evidently felt as though Soul Brother No. 1 had chosen sides. To be fair, he kind of did. “Of course Ice Cube was a little upset with me,” Pete Rock told the hosts. “That man had me feeling bad, man. He’s like, ‘Yo, he was angry, he was upset.’”

Pete Rock Eventually Smoothed Things Over With Ice Cube

The producer felt bad about the situation. Fortunately, things blew over when Cube and Common agreed to end the beef in 1997. Pete Rock said that he was thrilled to discover that Cube had let his anger go the next time he encountered him. “‘Aww Pete, come on,’” the producer recalled him saying. “‘You good, bro, you good.’” Rock and Cube have remained on good terms, but it’s worth noting that the producer was all for Common firing shots off back in 1996.

During a 2011 interview with Complex, Pete Rock claimed that he encouraged the Chicago rapper to respond to Ice Cube. “I remember getting a call from Common saying how upset he was about getting disrespected by Ice Cube,” Rock told the outlet. “I told him, ‘If you need my help, I’m here.’” He went on to commend both rappers for the way they handled the beef. “That’s how real men are supposed to get down,” he posited. “But this was a wax thing. I think Common stood up as a man and told him how he really felt. It was memorable, man. Very classic moment.”
