ASAP Rocky Reveals “Don’t Be Dumb” Release Date And Previews New Song: Listen

ASAP Rocky has been teasing a new album called Don’t Be Dumb for quite some time. Unfortunately, fans have had no idea when it would drop. Overall, it has been over six years since Rocky gave us Testing. It was a polarizing project, and there is no telling if Rocky will go down a similar road of experimentation. Having said that, we did report earlier today that Rocky is in the midst of mixing and mastering his new project, which is huge news.

However, today, Rocky was having his American Sabotage runway show at Paris Fashion Week. A lot of fans figured that Rocky would be previewing some new music there. Well, that is exactly what he did. That said, the biggest news when Rocky revealed to the audience that the album is going to be dropping on August 30th. Sure, that might be over two months from now, but that gives fans a date they can finally circle on all of their calendars.

Hopefully, we get some more updates on this new album, soon. There are lots of potential collaborators that fans would like to see. The most obvious of those would be Rihanna. Leading up to the album, we’re sure we will at least get a couple of singles. No matter what, fans are just happy to know that Rocky hasn’t retired. Cardi B Hints At Major Album Update With Title Teaser

Fans have been demanding Cardi B’s sophomore album for several years. Now, it appears to finally be on the horizon. While she continues to tease the project’s release online, she’s yet to announce an official release date. Previously, it was expected to arrive sometime this year, though she later walked back this claim. Instead, she said that she’s decided to spend her summer relaxing, though it seems like her label disagrees.

“We can’t wait put it out, even if we have to sneak into her studio and take it!” Atlantic Records wrote last month. Clearly, the timeline is still a bit murky. Regardless, Cardi still seems excited about the project and appears to be hard at work on it. Earlier this week, she took to her Instagram Story to tease its title, asking fans to guess what they think it could be.

Cardi B Could Announce Album Title Soon

“What y’all think my album name is?” she asked followers, hiding what appears to be the title with her hand. Of course, fans are out in full force with their best guesses. At the time of writing, it’s uncertain when she plans to finally announce it. The Bardigang certainly hopes it’s sooner rather than later, however. Luckily, they have plenty to listen to in the meantime, as Cardi is still hot off the release of various bangers. Just this week, for example, Peso Pluma unleashed their collaborative track “PUT EM IN THE FRIDGE” from his new album, ÉXODO.

She also teased a new “very very mean” and “messy” song a few weeks back, which many speculate could be a response to BIA, though this is still unconfirmed. Kanye West & Donna Summer’s Estate Finalize Settlement Over Allegedly Unauthorized Sample

Back in February, Kanye West was sued by the late Donna Summer’s estate for allegedly sampling her single “I Feel Love” on Vultures 1 without permission. The suit came after the estate called Ye out earlier that month. They alleged that while he did ask for permission to sample the song, it was denied. They accused him of doing it anyway, prompting the legal battle.

“Summer’s estate … wanted no association with West’s controversial history and specifically rejected West’s proposed use,” her attorneys explained. “In the face of this rejection, defendants arrogantly and unilaterally decided they would simply steal ‘I Feel Love’ and use it without permission.” Last month, it was revealed that they were in the process of finalizing a settlement. Now, it appears that the case has been resolved.

According to court documents obtained by Billboard, both parties have “entered into a settlement agreement that is a full and final settlement of all of the claims in the action.” Neither of them has revealed further details of the settlement at the time of writing. It remains unclear whether or not this means Ye’s track “Good (Don’t Die)” will be available to purchase or stream again anytime soon.

Hopefully, Ye learned his lesson and will be sure to secure the permission necessary to sample other artists in the future. Icewear Vezzo & Amanda Seales Reconcile After Messy Donald Trump Debate

Earlier this week, Icewear Vezzo took to Instagram to show off how he spent his weekend, sharing a few photos of himself posing alongside none other than Donald Trump. According to him, he told the former U.S. president that he “Made the 6 great again.” He also went on to write a lengthy message about how he’s not sure who he’ll vote for in the upcoming election yet. He claims that he was simply “taking [his] grievances directly to the sources.”

Of course, this prompted quite the debate in the rapper’s comments section, with several followers criticizing him for seemingly supporting Trump. Amanda Seales even took to her own page to issue an apparent response. She slammed those who take “pictures with people who have actively harmed” the Black community.

He was quick to fire back on his Instagram Story, labeling Seales a “weirdo” as well as a “lying little girl,” and urging her to “stop talking so much and give back.” Shortly after, however, he appeared to have a change of heart after speaking with Seales directly. “I talked to Amanda it’s all love,” he began. “She’s a woman I should’ve never went that hard on her no matter what she did it’s not that serious she’s entitled to her opinions even tho there was an assumption made about me based off [a] picture with zero audio…”

At the time of writing, it’s unclear exactly what was said during Icewear Vezzo’s conversation with Seales. Fortunately, however, it seems as though it worked out in the end. Doja Cat Had A Wardrobe Malfunction On Stage And She Was Absolutely Livid About It

Concerts, especially big-budget spectacles like Doja Cat’s ongoing The Scarlet Tour, are carefully planned affairs. That doesn’t mean that something can’t go wrong, though. That’s just what happened at a recent tour stop, where Doja was faced with a wardrobe malfunction.

As Billboard notes, this went down on June 19 at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam. Fan-shot video shows Doja struggling to get a dress unstuck from her corset, frustrated as she tugs at it. Doja, actually in rhythm with the song, then shouted into the microphone, “F*ck this dress! B*tch!” Eventually, a crew member emerged and managed to help Doja get the dress unstuck. Doja then angrily strutted away and gave a final, forceful “f*ck” into the mic for good measure.

If anything, this incident supports the point Doja made in April, that parents shouldn’t bring their kids to her concerts. In a trio of tweets at the time, she wrote, “idk what the f*ck you think this is but i don’t make music for children so leave your kids at home motherf*cker,” “im rapping about c*m why are you bringing your offspring to my show,” and “rappin about eatin dick and pissin on his v-cut, leave your mistake at home*.”

B***h!” she screamed into the mic, and when she ripped the bottom off leaving just her corset to continue the performance, fans cheered and roared at her resilience.

The Houston rapper name-checks the Bronx-born DJ in the hook of his new collaboration with West Coast producer Mustard, “Parking Lot.” The track is the lead single from Mustard’s upcoming album, Faith Of A Mustard Seed, which he announced is due on July 26.

It’s a great time for him to release a new project, as his buzz was recently revitalized by the release of Kendrick Lamar’s Drake diss record, “Not Like Us.” Not only did the song become an instant fan favorite, shooting to the top of the Hot 100 chart, but it’s also taken on a life of its own. K Dot performed the song five times in a row at his recent Ken & Friends concert at the Forum, where Mustard was also one of the friends in question. During his set, which was livestreamed to Amazon Music viewers worldwide, Mustard reminded fans just how many hits he’s got in his bag, including collaborations with Blxst (“Overrated,” “Chosen”), Ty Dolla Sign (“Paranoid”), Dom Kennedy (“My Type Of Party,” “When I Come Around”), Steve Lacy (“Static,” “Bad Habit”), and Roddy Ricch (“Ballin’”).

Snoop Dogg Crowns Kendrick Lamar “The King Of The West”

Kendrick Lamar’s “Pop Out” concert on Juneteenth in Los Angeles will likely go down as one of the biggest hip-hop-adjacent events of 2024. Frankly, the reaction to it on the West Coast might cement it as one of the biggest cultural moments of the year at large, and one of L.A.’s most iconic figures recently gave his stamp of approval. Moreover, Snoop Dogg relayed a message to the Compton lyricist for his show, but ironically enough, he said that he was out in Canada, the territory of Kendrick’s current rival Drake. We’ll get to that soon enough, but Tha Doggfather did not focus at all on that conflict and instead stressed the much more meaningful importance of what went down that night.

“Top of the morning, Big Snoop Dogg coming at you live from Canada,” the Long Beach native began his message to Kendrick Lamar. “Sending a big shoutout to K.Dot and all the homies from the West that stood together, unified, organized, in peace [and] love. That was beautiful, that was fun to watch. Beautiful to see all of my peoples coming together. And, um, K.Dot… you are the king of the west. That’s the kind of s**t kings do: we unite. We bring our peoples together.”

Snoop Dogg’s Proud Message To Kendrick Lamar After “The Pop Out”

Furthermore, this is all very interesting because of the mixed signals that Snoop Dogg has sent in the midst of the Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef. You probably recall that Drizzy used an A.I. Snoop verse on the “Taylor Made Freestyle” diss, and that Death Row now falls under the OVO-affiliated Gamma. However, other social media posts, public statements, and verse shoutouts indicated that the Cali legend was sticking to his roots. It’s a pretty complicated subject to theorize on, but at the very least, we know that he likely has a lot of love for both sides.

After all, Snoop Dogg was featured on Drake’s most recent album For All The Dogs, and there hasn’t been much that indicates he thinks there’s a “winner” or a right side. Rather, he focused on praising both. This time around, though, it was great to see the emphasis fall on West Coast unity rather than rap beef. Even though there are still some question marks here and there, it’s clear that there are much more important things than whose “side” someone’s on.
