Tobe Nwigwe And His Wife Fat Call For Healing With The Tender ‘Undressing Criticism’ Video

Tobe Nwigwe returned with a new Get Twisted Sundays release this week, deciding to address some of his online detractors in the “Undressing Criticism” video. This time around, Tobe takes a sharp left turn from the usual aggressive vibe of songs for a tender reflection on his and his wife Martika’s — aka Fat — relationship, which recently came under fire online after the two opened up about their rocky start in a confessional video years ago.

After an interview with Erykah Badu brought renewed attention to the old video, commenters, gossip bloggers, and YouTubers lashed out at the honest way the couple presented their story. One reaction video is titled, “Why Black Women Will Always Be An After Thought [sic],” while comments on the original video suggest that viewers feel Tobe said he settled for her because he did not originally want a relationship.

However, here the couple is, four years, three kids, and a viral rise to stardom later, and Fat remains central to Tobe’s music, often contributing verses or vocals to his Sunday single releases and nearly always popping up in the videos for songs like “Fye Fye” and “The Truth,” and performing with him on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. In “Undressing Criticism,” he calls out those critics, rhyming, “How the hell is one offended when presented with someone’s genuine experience that don’t make or break you doing you?” Fat even comes in at the end with a spoken-word piece encouraging the people in the peanut gallery to find healing so that don’t feel the need to lash out over someone else’s story.

Megan Thee Stallion And Charlie Puth Combat Pests In The Latest Flamin’ Hot Cheetos Super Bowl Ad Teaser

Last week, Megan Thee Stallion appeared in a Super Bowl ad teaser for Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. It’s the latest brand that she’s partnered with, adding to a list that already included Fashion Nova and Revlon. The full commercial with Megan and Flamin’ Hot Cheetos will debut during the Super Bowl on February 13, but in the first ad teaser, Megan arrives at a video shoot where she is greeted with questions like if she has any pet allergies to cats or dogs. The list of animals grows to include deer, foxes, bears, water buffalo, and more, which signals that this video shoot will be anything but normal.

The weird events continue for Megan in the newly-released second ad teaser for Flamin’ Hot Cheetos. It begins with the rapper walking and enjoying a bag of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos when she arrives at her video shoot trailer. When she attempts to open the door, she realizes it’s locked — which is odd since it’s her own trailer. A mysterious claw then appears to remove Megan’s name from the door before they close and lock the door, leaving Megan absolutely confused at what just happened. However, it doesn’t stop there.

In another video, Charlie Puth is revealed as Megan’s co-star for the Flamin’ Hot Cheetos ad and he has his own peculiar events to deal with while on set at the video shoot. Puth returns to his own trailer to find Cheetos-stained paw prints all over the interior of the trailer. After a brief investigation, Puth discovers an orange feather inside the trailer which serves as helpful evidence towards who the suspect might be.

Disney’s ‘Encanto’ Album Becomes The First Soundtrack To Spend Multiple Weeks At No. 1 Since 2018

Encanto is Disney’s latest successful film. It recently won the Best Motion Picture – Animated award at this month’s Golden Globe Awards where it was also nominated for Best Original Score and Best Original Song. The soundtrack for the film has also been successful. A little over a month since its release back in November, the soundtrack for Encanto checked in at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 72,000 album units sold on the chart dated January 15. In claiming the top spot, Encanto dethroned Adele’s 30 after it spent six straight weeks at No. 1 Just a couple of weeks later, Encanto makes its way back to No. 1.

On the Billboard 200 chart dated January 29, the Encanto soundtrack returns to No. 1 thanks to 104,000 album units sold this past week. This number is comprised of 84,000 streaming equivalent album units thanks to 125.33 million on-demand official streams of the soundtrack’s songs. Pure album sales accounted for 17,000 of the soundtrack’s sales total this week. With its return to No. 1, Encanto becomes the first soundtrack since Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper’s A Star Is Born to spend multiple weeks atop the charts. That project spent four non-consecutive weeks at No. 1 in 2018 and 2019.

Encanto is also the first soundtrack by Disney to spend multiple weeks at No. 1 since Frozen did so back in 2014. The Frozen soundtrack appeared atop the albums charts for 13 nonconsecutive weeks that year.

Elsewhere on this week’s Billboard 200 chart, Gunna’s DS4EVER checks in at No. 2 while The Weeknd’s Dawn FM arrives at No. 3.

Gunna Used Pusha T And Pharrell To Make A Hilarious ‘Pushin P’ Joke

Gunna is having quite the year so far. The rapper released his third album, DS4EVER, earlier this month and it debuted at No. 1, becoming his second chart-topping album. He’s also responsible for one of the biggest social media trends so far this year with “Pushin P,” his song with Future and Young Thug. Thanks to celebrities and brands like Chloe Bailey, IHOP, Future, Young Thug, the Memphis Grizzlies, Nike, Wingstop, Kim Kardashian, and more, the “Pushin P” trend has gone big.

Gunna seems to be enjoying the success he’s having, as evidenced by a recent video featuring himself, Pusha T, and Pharrell. In it, Pusha and Pharrell are seated next to each other while Gunna records with his phone. Gunna zooms in on Pusha and says “Push” before zooming in on Pharrell to say “P.” He then pans the camera back and forth between Pusha and Pharell while saying “Push and P,” sounding a lot like “Pushin P.” Gunna starts laughing, as do Pusha and Pharell themselves. So at least someone is having a good 2022.

XXXTentacion’s Estate Celebrates His 24th Birthday With An Announcement About His 2014 Song ‘Vice City’

Today marks what would’ve been the late XXXTentacion’s 24th birthday. It’s been almost four years since the young rapper, born Jahseh Onfroy, was fatally shot near a motorcycle dealership in Deerfield Beach, Florida. Over the years, his estate has continued to release music, like 2018’s Skins and 2019’s Bad Vibes Forever. Whether or not another project will arrive in the future remains to be seen, but today, his estate opted to celebrate his birthday with a new announcement.

“We continue to be amazed at the love and support that X’s fans show on a daily basis,” XXXTentacion’s estate wrote. “We know how much his music means to all of you, and his impact continues to be as powerful as it’s ever been.”

Then they broke some big news. “It is important to us to continue to honor Jah’s legacy, and in that spirit we are planning an exciting 2022. One of our first initiatives is to get as much of X’s music from his earliest days as an artist up on all DSPs,” they wrote. They then announced that his 2014 song “Vice City” will be placed on all streaming services this Friday, January 28. “We will continue to release music as we clear it, and are making sure we do it in a way that stays true to how X released each song originally.”

The message then directs fans to a website and a Twitter page to stay updated on all upcoming news related to XXXTentacion. “Beyond the music, we know X’s fans have been waiting patiently for the documentary and we will be sharing updates on it soon,” they added. “Thank you again for your support and for continuing to honor and celebrate the life of Jah.”

Gunna Explains What Caused The Delay Behind ‘P Power,’ His Collaboration With Drake

Gunna kicked off the year with his third album DS4EVER, which featured collaborations with Young Thug, Future, 21 Savage, Kodak Black, Yung Bleu, Chloe Bailey, and more. However, when it was released, a song between Gunna and Drake was missing. Thankfully, that track, “P Power,” which was previously titled “P*ssy Power,” eventually arrived a week later. During a recent interview with Complex’s Jessica McKinney, Gunna explained what was behind the delay.

“I originally sampled Donna Summer,” Gunna said about the song, which samples the legendary singer’s 1976 song “Could It Be Magic.” “I don’t even know her, because I’m so young. But she was a legend and her estate couldn’t get back in time for my album.” The sample within Gunna and Drake’s collaboration was eventually cleared and released with a deluxe edition of the album.

The delayed release of “P Power” may have helped propel DS4EVER to the top, as it edged out The Weeknd’s Dawn FM to give Gunna his second No. 1 album. Gunna has also promoted the album with videos for “Livin Wild,” “Pushin P,” and “Life Of Sin.”

Kanye West Wants The Paparazzi To Give A Percentage Of Their Profits To The Celebrities They Photograph

Kanye West has always shown his distaste for the paparazzi. Back in 2013, the rapper was sentenced to two years of probation, 250 hours of community service, and a restitution payment for attacking a photographer outside of Los Angeles International Airport. He’s currently under investigation for punching a photographer in Los Angeles. But Kanye is looking to heal the rift between celebrities and paparazzi, as he revealed during a conversation with a group of photographers shortly after he arrived at Miami International Airport on Saturday.

“Right now y’all get to shoot us without having to pay,” he said. “Imma change that. I’m not saying it in a negative way. It’s just like, right now, it’s just really one-sided. You guys can follow us, you guys can stand [outside] a hotel at any given time—you don’t give us any percentage of what you’re making off of us, off of our kids, and I’m gonna change that.”

“We all gotta make money together … It can’t be a one-sided thing. That’s why it feels vulture-like,” he continued. “Look, if I’m just with my kids, I say I don’t want you to shoot me, then that’s just something y’all gotta respect as a man ’cause if we can get that money together, but we gotta have a conversation. I’m gonna make sure we get our rights. We’re very important. We’re real people, also.”

Recently Kanye demanded a final edit approval on his upcoming Netflix series, Jeen-Yuhs.

Jay-Z And The Photographer Who Shot The ‘Reasonable Doubt’ Cover Will Bring Their Lawsuit To Trial

Last summer, Jay-Z filed a lawsuit against photographer Jonathan Mannion and his company Jonathan Mannion Photographer LLC for using Jay-Z’s name and image without his consent. Mannion shot the cover for Jay-Z’s classic 1996 debut album Reasonable Doubt and the rapper claims that he’s been using the photos to make “thousands of dollars” selling prints and merchandise over the years. When Jay asked Mannion to stop, the photographer requested “tens of millions of dollars,” prompting the lawsuit. The two attempted to reach a settlement, but neither party was able to reach an agreement. Now the lawsuit will go to trial.

“Plaintiff Shawn Carter and Defendants Jonathan Mannion and Jonathan Mannion Photography LLC participated in a mediation before the Honorable Terry Friedman (Ret.) on January 5, 2022,” court documents obtained in the lawsuit read, according to HipHop-N-More (via AllHipHop). “The parties were unable to reach an agreement to resolve this case.” As a result, a trial date for July 22, 2022 has been set in order to bring the matter to court.

This comes after he, Big Sean, Fat Joe, Killer Mike, Meek Mill, Yo Gotti, and more rallied in support of a proposed New York State bill that would prohibit rap lyrics from being used in criminal trials. Bill S.7527/A.8681 — “Rap Music on Trial” — was proposed in November and it passed through the Senate earlier this week.

What Is The Pushing P Emoji 🅿️?

If you’ve been online lately, you’ve likely seen an influx of P emojis. They’ve been shared by brands and artists alike including Gunna (the lead man behind use of the emoji), Chloe Bailey, IHOP, Future, Young Thug, the Memphis Grizzlies, Nike, Wingstop, Kim Kardashian, and many more.

What is the pushing P emoji 🅿?

The emoji has been most frequently used with the phrase “Pushin P,” a term that Gunna has coined as it’s also the title of a song from his third album DS4EVER.

The exact definition behind “Pushin P” isn’t cut-and-dry, but the infamous line that Will Ferrell delivered in Blades Of Glory that Kanye West and Jay-Z helped amplify on “N****s In Paris” best describes the sentiment behind the phrase: “No one knows what it means, but it’s provocative. It gets the people going.” Gunna has tried to explain the term on multiple occasions, but his best description of it comes from a post he shared to his Instagram Story shortly before the release of DS4EVER. “P don’t just mean Playa, P also mean paper too,” he said. “You could be pushing this P with paper too.”

The term also made for a great marketing tactic for DS4EVER. In the week after the album arrived, people all over social media were seen using the term in a number of ways. “Pushin P” helped push Gunna’s DS4EVER to No. 1 on the Billboard 200, edging out The Weeknd’s Dawn FM by just 2,300 copies.

The Weeknd Surpasses Justin Bieber For The Most Monthly Listeners On Spotify

The Weeknd began the year by releasing his sixth album Dawn FM, which the singer teased and promoted for more than six months. The album gave fans not only 16 songs but also contributions from Jim Carrey, Lil Wayne, Tyler The Creator, Quincy Jones, and Oneohtrix Point Never. Despite the hype behind it, Dawn FM failed to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, as it was beaten by Gunna’s DS4EVER, which outsold it by just 2,300 copies.

Despite this, The Weeknd did accomplish something big: He recently passed Justin Bieber as the musician with the most listeners on Spotify. A press release revealed that The Weeknd has 85,667,564 monthly listeners on the app, giving him the most for any artist at the moment. It stops a streak that Bieber has held since last spring. Regardless, Bieber still holds the title for the most listeners at any point in Spotify history, after he became the first artist in the platform’s history to have more than 90 million monthly listeners.

Recently The Weeknd released videos for “Gasoline” and “Sacrifice” from Dawn FM. He also shared two new “alternate world” versions of songs from Dawn FM.
