Lil Yachty’s SXSW Set (And Any Other Outdoor Acts) Was Canceled Due To Lightning And Heavy Rain

Lil Yachty fans were disappointed tonight, as the rapper’s scheduled performance at SXSW has since been canceled due to rain and lightning in Austin. In addition, all other outdoor venue performances were evacuated from the Moody Amphitheater.

“Attention Moody Amphitheater Guests: Due to current conditions, the venue is being evacuated and all event programming has been cancelled. Our primary concern is the safety of our patrons and staff,” the venue tweeted.

“Unfortunately, we have to evacuate the venue,” a voice says in the video captured by an attendee — and everyone in the crowd audibly boos. “Just for the time being. We will let you know when it is safe to enter. I know this is not what anyone wanted to do.”

While the music will go on safely still inside with other acts, concertgoers are wondering if Yachty will return to make it up to them on another night of the festival.

“Sooo are we gonna get refunded??? cuz i guarantee we did not come to see anybody but yachty…” one fan wrote, tagging SXSW.

Another pointed out that Yachty had apparently posted to his Twitter and Instagram story that the show would go on before eventually deleting it — meaning it’s unlikely considering the weather conditions are causing power outages in some parts of the city and state.

Pharrell Williams’ Something In The Water festival is coming back to Virginia Beach next month. Over the course of three days, festivalgoers will be able to see performances from Latto, Kehlani, Kaytranada, Grace Jones, Mumford And Sons, and more.

With all of these exciting acts, fans are eager to get their hands on tickets.

Where can fans buy tickets for Something In The Water?

According to a tweet from the festival’s official Twitter account, fans can purchase tickets from the Something In The Water website. However, it appears only “a limited number of passes are still available.”

Those who aren’t able to get tickets will be able to live stream full performances via Williams’ YouTube channel.

This year’s festival is presented by Walmart, who is committed to helping communities thrive.

Pharrell’s Something In The Water Festival Returns To Virginia Beach With A Stacked Lineup

Late last year, Pharrell announced that his Something In The Water Festival would return to his hometown, Virginia Beach, after he moved it to Washington, DC in 2022 over the city’s handling of the death of his cousin. Today, he revealed the lineup, and it’s a doozy. In addition to a headlining set from “Pharrell’s Phriends,” which in the past included Clipse, Justin Timberlake, NORE, Q-Tip, and SZA, the massive lineup features everyone from Lil Uzi Vert to Wu-Tang Clan. A Canadian Festival Features Harry Styles And Doja Cat… Except It Appears To Be Fake And Has Made Thousands In Ticket Sales

Festival season is upon us. Just last weekend, Rolling Loud California shut down the greater Los Angeles area for several days. Next month, Coachella will storm the grounds of the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. However, as music fans across the world look for festivals near them, scammers are looking to take advantage of this growing demand.

According to Complex, a Canadian festival by the name of Festival Aurora is the latest example of this ploy. Allegedly led by Harry Styles, Doja Cat, Tyler The Creator, SZA, Khalid, and Charli XCX, fans of the musicians are calling out the festival on its Instagram page (@festivalaurora). Specifically, fans of Styles noticed that the date listed for the singer to appear, June 3, seems nearly impossible given that his Love On Tour will be in France the day before and the Netherlands on June 4th.

The lineup got people excited, though, as the festival reportedly made $7,000 in ticket sales in five days.

After receiving several inquiries about the legitimacy of the festival, The Vieux-Port de Montreal (overseers of Montreal’s Old Port district), released a statement denying that the event has been approved for use of the space, writing, “We learned about this festival like the general public, through social media and their online platform. A festival with such popular names would have to be planned months in advance, and neither the SVPM nor the other partners on our territory (Port-de-Montréal / Grand Quai) were approached.”

The supposed festival has not responded to the statement released by Vieux-Port de Montreal. As of today (March 10), the festival’s Instagram page is still active.

An Okeechobee Festival Attendee Died At This Past Weekend’s Event

At this past weekend’s Okeechobee music festival (which was held between March 2 and 5), one attendee died, festival organizers confirmed in a statement shared today (March 8).

The festivalgoer was 26-year-old Baton Rouge, Louisiana native Steven Nguyen, Baton Rouge’s WBRZ reports. The death was an apparent drowning and the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office confirmed with WBRZ that investigators are currently looking into the matter.

In Okeechobee’s statement, organizers expressed sadness and explained, “Out of respect to those affected by this tragedy, we have refrained from commenting prematurely. We will continue to provide our full support to the authorities, who are determining the cause.”

Artists who performed at this weekend’s festival included Lil Yachty; Big Boi; Jpegmafia; Baby Keem; Turnstile; Earth, Wind & Fire; and others.

HARD Summer’s 2023 Lineup Includes Special Guests 21 Savage And Kid Cudi And A Brand-New Venue

One of the biggest festivals of the year is HARD, a long-running festival that began in 2007 to highlight alternative and electronic acts and has been running ever since. This year, though, it’s making some big changes, moving to a new venue in Los Angeles and continuing to expand its horizons, adding hip-hop acts such as 21 Savage and Kid Cudi as special guests after bringing in Megan Thee Stallion and Lil Uzi Vert last year.

HARD Summer 2023 returns to Los Angeles, the festival’s birthplace, for the first time in 10 years on August 5 and 6, leaving behind the San Bernardino NOS Event Center for the Exposition Park area near downtown, which includes both the Coliseum and BMO Stadium (formerly the Banc Of California Stadium).

And although there are some other rap names on this year’s lineup, including Fat Joe and Ludacris, HARD’s keeping things mostly the same, with headliners Kaskade and Skrillex joining a lineup that includes standouts such as Four Tet, Diplo, Black Coffee, Dillon Francis, Oliver Tree, and more. There also appear to be some surprise artists on the bill who will presumably be announced as the festival nears. And don’t discount the possibility that Drake, who collaborated with Black Coffee on last year’s Honestly, Nevermind, might show up too. Never forget who started EDM in the first place.

When Do Outside Lands 2023 Tickets Go On Sale?

Outside Lands festival is set to return for its 15th iteration this August at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. For this special anniversary, the lineup is promising.

Taking the stages over the span of three days, August 11 to 13, are Kendrick Lamar, Lana Del Rey, Foo Fighters, Megan Thee Stallion, Janelle Monáe, Maggie Rogers, and more. Cigarettes After Sex, Lil Yachty, JID, Willow, and Orville Peck are also on the roster.

With acts this exciting, tickets are bound to sell out quickly.

When do Outside Lands 2023 tickets go on sale?

Fans can begin to buy tickets as early as Wednesday, March 8, at 10 PST. Festivalgoers will be able to purchase three-day general admission tickets, GA+ tickets, and VIP tickets.

Three-day GA tickets ($499) will allow fans entry into Golden Gate Park for the festival, as well as access to food and beverage vendors.

GA+ ticketholders ($674) will be able to enter the festival expedited, and have access to flushable bathrooms, refillable water stations, and complimentary soft drinks. They will also be able to purchase alcoholic beverages at a full-service bar.

Those with VIP tickets ($1,029) will be able to enter the park through special entrances and have access to viewing areas at the Lands End, Sutro, and Twin Peaks stages. They will also be able to rent special VIP lockers during the festival days, and they will receive a special commemorative poster.

Outside Lands is also allowing fans to set up payment plans to pay for their tickets and passes. Tickets will be available for purchase here.

Outside Lands’ Diverse 2023 Lineup Is Led By Foo Fighters, Kendrick Lamar, Lana Del Rey, And Others

San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park will once again play host to the Outside Lands festival this year, from August 11 to 13. Ahead of then, the lineup was unveiled today (March 7), and it’s led by Kendrick Lamar, Foo Fighters, Odesza, Lana Del Rey, The 1975, Megan Thee Stallion, Zedd, Janelle Monáe, Maggie Rogers, and Fisher.

There are plenty of highlights beyond that, too, including Lil Yachty, JID, Interpol, Willow, Father John Misty, Tobe Nwigwe, Orville Peck, Aespa, Beabadoobee, Alvvays, Alex G, Soccer Mommy, Diesel (aka Shaquille O’Neal), Raveena, Inhaler, Ethel Cain, Samia, The Jungle Giants, and Wednesday.

As for how to experience the festival yourself, three-day tickets go on sale tomorrow (March 8) at 10 a.m. PT, via the Outside Lands website.

At the moment, it’s unclear what Foo Fighters will look like for their headlining performance, as they have yet to announce who will be the band’s new drummer following the death of Taylor Hawkins (although fans have ideas about who should get the spot). The band’s performance could be in support of a new album, if a radio DJ’s apparent accidental leak is to be believed.
