MO3’s Estate Keeps His “Legend” Alive On Third Posthumous Album

Melodic Dallas, Texas rapper MO3 was able to effortlessly mix street anthems with a smooth voice to give fans a one-of-a-kind listening experience. However, his life was sadly cut short almost four years ago, after being gunned down in broad daylight. Since his death on November 11, MO3’s estate has made it their mission to give his die-hard supporters a full look behind the curtain as to what he was working on. Today is another one of those days, as the latest MO3 project to land on streaming is now Legend.

This title obviously is looking to show why the multi-hyphenate was so gifted. So, throughout this tightly packed, 14-song project, you are getting a lot of rapping/singing cuts. Perhaps another reason why this tape is out now is because it would have been MO3’s birthday yesterday (May 31), which is when Legend was released. Overall, these songs clearly show that he had plenty of fire tracks waiting to hit platforms.

Listen To Legend By MO3

Leading up to this album, four singles were put out ahead of time. In fact, the first one dropped back in 2022, “They Don’t Know” with Tory Lanez. It would not be until May of 2024 that we would get the next promotional track, which was “Tidal Wave”. Then, in the subsequent two and a half weeks, “Blood Money”, and “AR”, featuring That Mexican OT and BigXthaPlug, would follow. Speaking of features, others include Finesse2Tymes, Fredo Bang, Money Man, Ralo, Tye Harris, and NoCap.

What are your thoughts on Legend by MO3? Who had the strongest guest verse? What song did MO3 bring his best stuff? Is this the strongest posthumous release so far, why or why not? Dave East Reunites With Close Pals Mike & Keys For Personal LP “APT 6E”

“[Mike & Keys are] 100 percent my sound… They are like, one of the few producers in the game that really just got my sound down pat without really trying”. That is what gritty Harlem, New York rapper told XXL a little over two years ago about how much he adores the Los Angeles based producing duo. The soon-to-be 36-year-old veteran explained that he met the hitmakers through the late Nipsey Hussle and since then, they have grown their chemistry in the studio.

Their first album together, HDIGH (How Did I Get Here), while not released as a Dave/Mike & Keys project, was the one that got it started. Now, they are back once again with APT 6E, an official collaboration album. This record holds a special place in Dave’s heart, as the title is a reference to the apartment where his career really started to take shape. “I think that’s really where life changed for me. That’s where I got my first deal out of that apartment. Nas signed me, I caught the train to Mass Appeal downtown, then I caught the train back to Queens and walked back to my apartment with the deal in my hand”.

Listen To APT 6E By Dave East & Mike & Keys

There a handful of cuts on this 15-song offering that allude to the grind that Dave was on to make it big. One of them is “DOIN GREAT” (one of our favorites), and it sees him talk about always keeping your head high and making small steps toward your goals is in fact great progress. Those “steps” include removing people from your life who are not on the same mission as you and protecting your energy. However, we can fit all of the things we love about this album in one article, so be sure to check out and see what we mean.

What are your thoughts on APT 6E by Dave East and Mike & Keys? What is the best beat here and why? Who had the strongest guest verse? What song did Dave bring his best stuff? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Kodak Black Brings Together “The Next Generation Of Stars” On “Vulture Love Presents: The Last Zombies On Earth”

“I got the next generation of stars. I have a voice in this game and I’m using it to put my artists on until everyone knows their names. Watch out for Vulture Love. We ain’t stopping”. Those were the quoted words of label head Kodak Black, according to The Source, about his new collection of signees.

It is quite the long list of names, with some of the bigger ticket artists being Lil Crix, G6 (G6reddot), VVsnce, and GorditoFlo. The last time that Kodak Black dropped a label project was back in 2021. That was a venture with the more widely known Sniper Gang called Sniper Gang Presents Syko Bob & Snapkatt: Nightmare Babies. If you remember that tape featured Kodak’s smash hit “Super Gremlin”.

Listen To Vulture Love Presents: The Last Zombies On Earth By Vulture Love & Kodak Black

There might not be a clear standout song in this Vulture Love Presents: The Last Zombies On Earth tracklist. But where this debut album succeeds is giving these up-and-coming artists a great platform to make their voices heard. Most of the beats slap, and it makes it that much easier for names like G6, VVsnce, and etc. to give strong performances. Kodak is of course featured on several cuts here, but this all about what Vulture Love is offering and will provide in the future.

What are your thoughts on Vulture Love Presents: The Last Zombies On Earth by Vulture Love and Kodak Black? What artist on Kodak’s label has the most potential? Belly Speaks Up For His Homeland On “96 Miles From Bethlehem”

“I got a lot more to say..” That is what Belly had to say on Instagram one day ago while announcing his surprise new album 96 Miles From Bethlehem. The rapper and singer is of Palestinian descent, as he was born in Jenin, which is in the Israeli-occupied West Bank. Fittingly, the name of the album is actually how far his hometown is from Bethlehem. Belly has been one of the leading voices, musically speaking, during this heartbreaking war. Now, he is here to further his message on this concise nine-song offering.

Unbeknownst to us, Belly dropped off the lead single, “Patience vs. Patients”, on Wednesday. It was a short one minute and change effort to call out the government for its blatant lies against aiding the Palestinians. During that aforementioned reveal of 96 Miles From Bethlehem, Belly made it known to his fans that all of the money made from this project would go towards aiding his people. That includes profits from the merchandise sold as well.

Listen To 96 Miles From Bethlehem By Belly

Throughout the 19 minutes of runtime, Belly leaves it all out there, both from a vocal and instrumental perspective. This listen is not meant for bangers, it is meant to be slightly uncomfortable and eye-opening. 96 Miles From Bethlehem is certainly that, as the beats and tones of each track are dark and gloomy. Belly recruits his Palestinian brothers and sisters Saint Levant, Ibrahim Maalouf, Eylanna, and MC Abdul to deliver some powerful moments. All in all, Belly succeeds here on his official fourth album.

What are your thoughts on 96 Miles From Bethlehem by Belly? Is this one of his best albums of his career, why or why not? What song do you view as the best in terms of its message? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Belly. Tha Dogg Pound Reunite For Celebratory “W.A.W.G. (We All We Got)” With Assistance From Snoop Dogg

Tha Dogg Pound is back once again after a decently long hiatus with their ninth studio album W.A.W.G. (We All We Got). This is the West Coast duo’s follow-up to their 2021 outing Dpg 4 Life. Over the last several weeks, Kurupt and Daz Dillinger, as well their close affiliate, Snoop Dogg, have been teasing the tape with singles and music videos. “Smoke Up”, “We All We Got”, and “Favorite Color Blue”, were the lead-off tracks.

This is a major release for several reasons, with perhaps the biggest reason being that cousins, Snoop and Daz, were at odds with each other. Dogg was the one who was having issues it seemed, as he stated he was unsure if he wanted to work alongside him. But after the recent tragic loss of Bing Worthington. Snoop’s brother, the two rekindled their relationship and it is mainly why this record exists.

The new owner of Death Row Records appears all over this 14-song project, and he is just one of many high-profile features. Other names include DaBaby, Blxst, Tha Eastsidaz, Butch Cassidy, among others. The producers are stacked too, with Mike & Keys, DJ Battlecat, DJ Premier, and more. Overall, Kurupt and Daz Dillinger are providing a lot of energy and grittiness to each track, and the beats are very colorful and lively, as you might expect with the talent onboard.

Big Hit, Hit-Boy And The Alchemist Deliver On Gritty “Black & Whites”

Big Hit, Hit-Boy and The Alchemist represent three different phases of hip-hop. Big Hit brings the gritty appeal of an industry veteran despite being relatively new to the game. His son, Hit-Boy, has been one of the most versatile producers of the last decade. The Alchemist, meanwhile, has been lacing beats for the best rappers in the game for over thirty years. There was a risk that bunching them together would result in their strengths canceling out, resulting in a subpar album. Thankfully, that’s not what happened here.

Black & Whites, the debut album from this trio, is a triumph. In a very particular field, that is. The album is not going for summer playlists or radio play, it’s going for the grime and the soulfulness of the best street albums the genre has to offer. “Heartless” sees Big Hit weave cold-blooded bars over an Alchemist beat with a gorgeous vocal sample. There’s no drums, just Hit’s propulsive flow and Alc’s wizardy working in tandem. The soul chops on “Sly, Slick & Wicked” and the titular track are worth the price of admission. Hit-Boy and Alchemist have incredible chemistry behind the boards, and nearly steal the show from their emcee. Fortunately, Big Hit brings his A-game whenever he’s paired with guest features.

Big Hit And His Producers Attempt Different Styles

The rapper and Boldy James sound mean as hell on the the East Coast-centric “Godfather, Pt. 2.” Then the former turns around and trades verse space with HitgirlLENA on the effortlessly catchy, West Coast-bounce of “Gank Move.” “Gank Move” closes out Black & Whites on a deceptively warm note, but most of what’s here is chilly, efficient, and excellently made. If you liked the promo single “Drug Tzar,” you’re going to love the rest of what’s here.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new album Black & Whites by Big Hit, Hit-Boy and The Alchemist? Do you think the two producers work well together? What is the best song? Do you want to hear future projects from the trio? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Big Hit, Hit-Boy and The Alchemist. Finally, stay with us for everything else going on around the music world.

Smoke DZA Drops By With DJ RELLYRELL-Produced EP “You’re All Welcome”

Smoke DZA came through later last year with a terrific EP called Flying Objects. It was one of two projects from the Harlem, New York native, with Worldwide Smoke Session, Vol. 2. That was a collaboration tape with The Smokers Club and featured 12 tracks and a host of features. The aforementioned EP would receive a slightly longer version in December called the (Extended Version). It tacked on three new songs, two of which were sequels.

If you are not familiar with any of DZA’s previous work, he is a master of creating the ideal tracks to smoke too, hence his stage name. Even though he does not get the same recognition as of his hazy contemporaries, he is arguably the best of the bunch. That is mostly because he can hit you with fire lyricism on top of providing the vibes. Over the weekend, Smoke DZA delivered another straightforward and short listen, You’re All Welcome.

Baby Jungle Carries His Own Weight On Stacked Debut Project “Jungle Book”

“I could be smooth and melodic or have some turned up level s***. I’m very versatile.” That is what rising Georgia rap star Baby Jungle told Hip Hop Since 1987 in a recent interview about his debut mixtape Jungle Book. “I feel like I have a unique sound. It’s the perfect mix of edgy flow patterns and melodies,” speaking with Kazi. “Different songs evoke different feelings.” Sometimes I want people to have fun and pop it… I want to encourage people where I’m from. Sometimes I want to help people dealing with depression.”

We can definitely see where Baby Jungle is coming from. In fact, we completely concur with the multi-hyphenate. His inspirations being Lil Baby, Juice WRLD, NBA YoungBoy, and Lil Durk makes sense. Across this impressively trim 12 song mixtape, Jungle mixes some beats and melodies that four of these rappers would deploy on their efforts.

That is especially the case on the backend of the record. Songs like “Frozen,” “Dark Clouds,” and “Never Run” are perfect examples of this varied skillset. Also helping get these visions on a fairly well-mixed record are the distributor(s) and his label, Epic Records. Furthermore, his talent is being recognized by some that either are established or almost there. DJ Drama, Rob49, Luh Tyler, are just a handful of them. This is definitely a great start for the youngster, and we definitely recommend hopping on the bandwagon now.

Denzel Revives His 2012 Raider Klan Mixtape “King Of The Mischievous South Vol. 1 (Underground Tape 1996)”

Denzel Curry is taking us on a trip down memory lane by reissuing King Of The Mischievous South Vol. 1 (Underground Tape 1996). This is one of the Carol City, Florida native’s earliest bodies of work. In fact, this is a mixtape from the since disbanded group, Raider Klan. Curry left to forge his solo career in 2013, a little bit before the underground posse split.

King Of The Mischievous South would be one of his last efforts with them and it was made when he was an early teen. It dropped on Soundcloud back in 2012, but Curry has decided to bring it back. If you are not familiar with the Raider Klan’s sound, they draw a lot of inspiration from Memphis, especially Three 6 Mafia. However, there are also elements of Southern hip-hop, chopped and screwed, the 90s, and more.

Rah Swish Returns With “Elevator Music”

Swish is perhaps best known for his collaboration with Pop Smoke on “Brush Em” back in 2021. That song peaked at number 1 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Billboard chart at the time. It appeared on Smoke’s posthumous album, Faith. Prior to the new album, he most recently released the mixtape 9 Shots in the Ruger in 2023.

Swish recently sat down with Revolt for an interview about the new project, during which he revealed where the idea for the title came from. “I had no name for about two months and was just trying to figure out how to flip elevation,” he said. “The project has a different vibe from myself and a mix of different songs. We’re trying to elevate and go to the top. One day, I was in the hotel pushing a button, and it wasn’t working because I had forgot to tap the key first. That’s when I thought, “Oh s**t, I can’t get up the elevator.” I just put it together and called it Elevator Music.” Elsewhere in the interview, he discussed nearly collaborating on another song with Pop Smoke, possibly working with Cash Cobain in the future, and more. Check out Swish’s latest project on Apple Music and Spotify above. Be on the lookout for further updates on Rah Swish on HotNewHipHop.
