Peysoh Follows Up On Kendrick Lamar Feature With “Peysoh Did It” EP

With Kendrick Lamar’s new project GNX, there was a huge emphasis on embodying the West Coast sound and then some. Overall, it did a great job at doing this sonically and visually, with the features helping out a great deal as well. K. Dot is extremely tapped in as we all know, and it showed once again on GNX. Artists like Lefty Gunplay, Hitta J3, AzChike, and now Peysoh, have been doing a wonderous job themselves. It goes for getting those features but capitalizing on them too. While they are known within West Coast circles, they weren’t really getting the same exposure until last month. Now, outlets and fans are starting to check out their material and there’s evidence to back that up.

The talent has been discovered and now it’s just a matter of building on that momentum. Peysoh, as we said, is taking those steps as we speak. He did so this weekend by leaving off a new five-song EP, Peysoh Did It. It’s a fitting title given the year he’s having due in part to the Kendrick collab. But he’s showing that he’s also a lot more than some sidekick. Peysoh has a murderous and cutthroat tone to his music and its prevalent on this new collection of solo tracks. Fans and other major artists have been backing these songs so far, and we are more than fine joining the hype train. See what Peysoh provides on Peysoh Did It, by checking out the streaming platform links below.

Dom Corleo Follows Up Sophomore Album With Four-Track EP “DC”

Dom Corleo has been satisfying fans all throughout 2024. The Fremont, California talent has mostly been riding solo for most of these 12 months too, making his run all the more impressive. A couple of singles got the ball rolling for him, particularly “duh duh duh,” one of his only joint records. He grabbed Detroit MC Veeze for that one, and the playful energy, particularly from the instrumental, sealed the deal for a lot of fans. That track would go on to be one of a few promotional singles for his eventual sophomore album. Under My Influence was the name and it landed in September and a lot of folks quickly fell in love with it. It’s grown a nice cult following and it’s carried a nice wave of momentum for the 22-year-old.

So much so, that Dom Corleo has just come by with some more music to wrap up a banner year. This time, he’s dropping of a four-song self-titled EP, DC. On the album, he was presenting different soundscapes and even doing a bit of storytelling and opening up. But here, it seems he was just looking to give the listeners some hype cuts to get energized from. Right away, you are hit with more trap-like beats and Auto-Tuned rapping, which is something that he does with frequent collaborators like KILLY, for example. So, if you are into that type of music from Dom Corleo, then you will definitely enjoy the looser and more carefree cuts he’s bringing here. You can check out DC with the links down below.

Casanova Grabs Joey Bada$$, KayCyy, Kevin Ross, & YXNG K.A For “I Get It Now”

Longtime fans of Brooklyn MC Casanova are being treated to new music still. It’s quite the feat for him given his current situation. For those who are out of the loop, the veteran is currently in the midst of serving 15 years plus an additional eight months in prison for racketeering and narcotics charges. When he was handed down his legal punishment, Casanova quickly came to terms with it. “Everything to the chin. Nothing to the heart. I GET IT NOW. I hope that don’t go over ya heads.” It seems that the latter half of that message was really important because I GET IT NOW is the name of his new project.

It’s his third project of his career, and first since 2019’s Behind These Scars. It features a nice cast of characters, including Joey Bada$$, KayCyy, Kevin Ross, and YXNG K.A. It’s 12 tracks and leading up to its release, there were two singles to promote it. “Forgive Me Father,” the now-candid opener got the rollout underway, with “Calm Down” featuring YXNG K.A following behind it. Fun fact: the lead-off track was Casanova’s first solo release in over three years. On this tape, he’s getting a little more personal, does some reflecting, and keeps it real as he usually does. See if he updated his resume in strong fashion by checking out I GET IT NOW, below.

SahBabii Adds “A Lu Bit More” To His Fan-Favorite “Saheem” Album

For the most part, Atlanta rapper and singer SahBabii has mostly been in the background. After an explosive start to his career back at the end of the 2010s, the 2020s have not been as kind to him. Prior to this year, it had been since 2022 that he last updated his resume. But back at the beginning of November, the 27-year-old captured fans hearts and ears with his official sophomore album, Saheem. It’s quickly become a bit of a cult favorite, but we can see why this tape has also been gaining traction outside of his loyal fan base.

While the trap and R&B production isn’t necessarily anything to groundbreaking, it does sound slightly elevated. It’s a nice mixture of wavy, hard-hitting, spacey, and slightly off-kilter from the mainstream trap scene. Artists like Gunna, Young Thug, and maybe even Future would put together this sort of soundscape. But where SahBabii differentiates himself from those guys is a song like “Show Off.” It’s one of just two new cuts from the deluxe of his self-titled called A Lu Bit More. This track in particular is already winning listeners over thanks to the writing credits and background vocals provided by indie/soft rock and sophisti-pop singer-songwriter, Clairo. The way SahBabii was able to incorporate the sonics from her most recent record Charm and make it into a bop is quite impressive. Continue to keep your eye on SahBabii because he’s making a nice comeback.

Mozzy & Kalan.FrFr Meet Halfway With One Another On “Lucky Her”

While Mozzy and Kalan.FrFr are both from California, it still feels like two sonic worlds are colliding on LUCKY HER. This a first-time collaboration project between the Sacramento and Los Angeles natives, but they aren’t total strangers. They have popped up on two other tracks in the past, with the examples being Mozzy’s “Whole 100” and Kalan’s “No Love.” Ironically, each of those are 2021 releases, so it’s been three years since their last linkups. So, with all of that said, why does LUCKY HER come across as two different styles clashing? Well, Kalan is a more melodic talent. Although, he has shown that he can tap into more aggressive pockets. In fact, “Dice Game,” his most recent solo record is a sample you can look at.

But for the most part, he likes to bring more a wavy, summery, and low-key vibe when he’s on a cut. As for Mozzy, he’s more likely to drop a “Dice Game,” for example. So, do they mesh well for 10 tracks? For the most part, they do. But we will say Mozzy can sound a little out of his element, as his flows on songs like “EULOGY” and “EGGS IN THE MORNING” feel out of place delivery wise. He sticks to the themes no problem, but it’s how he comes across in these cases that throws the energy off. Still, there are some slaps like “SPEEDIN!” that we find enjoyable. Overall, they were able to sort of comprise and combine moody ballads with more banger-like beats. Check out LUCKY HER with the links below.

SZA Finally Blesses Starving Fans With “SOS Deluxe: Lana”

After over a year of teasing and promising, on top of an additional mixing delay, SZA’s SOS Deluxe: LANA is here. The initial 23-song effort was chockful of instant hits. “Snooze,” “Good Days,” “Kill Bill,” the list goes on. Leading up to today, SZA made it clear what her intentions were for this bonus version. “I think I am making music from a more beautiful place. From a more possible place versus a more angsty place.” She continued, “I’m not identifying with my brokenness. It’s not my identity. It’s shit that happened to me. Yeah, I experienced cruelty. I have to put it down at some point. Piece by piece, my music is shifting because of that, the lighter I get.”

You can definitely hear SZA sounding freer and enjoying life. For example, on “Diamond Boy,” she’s talking about how crazy she is about this guy. On SOS there were a lot more tracks about having a disdain for relationships, with breakup anthems peppered throughout (“Kill Bill” a perfect example). But there are still some thematic carryovers. “Drive,” one of the big teasers, finds SZA struggling with staying on track with her goals due to outside distractions. It makes sense why there’s a mixture though. After all, she did say “piece by piece” her “music is shifting.” Check out SOS Deluxe: LANA with the links below.

Boldy James Links With Detroit Producer Whothehelliscarlo For “Hidden In Plain Sight” Tape

There aren’t many like Boldy James right now. The cutthroat Detroit rapper has been just that toward his competition all year long, dropping single after project after feature. He’s for sure one of the most consistent and hard-working MCs in the game and the depth of his catalog alone proves that. It’s become that much more expansive in 2024, as he put out now five projects and a whole bunch of loosies and collabs. This week, we are going to focus on the bodies of work, because he’s here with a new one, Hidden in Plain Sight.

Like 80 percent of his endeavors over this 12-month span, Bo is collaborating with a producer from start to finish. So far, he’s teamed up with Canadian beat maker Nicholas Craven for Penalty of Leadership. Boldy James then tapped in with Conductor Williams in June for Across The Tracks. Following that would be the November link-up with Harry Fraud called The Bricktionary. All of those efforts we just listed are over 10 tracks, but Hidden in Plain Sight is under that mark. It stands at seven cuts and is a breezy 18 minutes. Also differentiating this tape from the others is the producer. Meet whothehelliscarlo, also a Detroit native who doesn’t have as much standing in hip-hop as the others Boldy’s worked with. But he’s been developing some chemistry with a lot of the acts from Motown like 42 Dugg, Zelooperz, and more. Now, he’s getting a chance with one of the stalwarts from his hometown. See what they cooked up below.

J Cole Answers The Call And Releases “2014 Forest Hills Drive (10th Anniversary Edition)” To Streaming

He’s done it J Cole fans. After a couple of weeks, the Dreamville head honcho has put the 10th Anniversary Edition of 2014 Forest Hills Drive onto streaming platforms. His acclaimed third studio album turned a decade old on December 9 and the North Carolina MC wanted to give it some extra special treatment. It started just a couple of days prior to the official milestone with him dropping two vinyls with four bonus tracks on each one. Only 2,014 units were available, so a lot of folks missed out. But Cole wound up giving a lot more fans a chance not too long after they sold out.

A digital copy with all eight deluxe cuts was made obtainable through his Inevitable audio series website. You can still buy it for $10.00 USD, and it will take you to the EVEN platform. It allows fans the chance to directly support the artists’ work. But out of nowhere, J Cole has gone a step further and released 2014 FHD to all streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple Music, and etc. Unless there was an announcement in one of the episodes of his “podcast,” this is a pretty shocking but welcome surprise. Like the digital copy, all eight songs are here. Go check it out with the links below.

G Herbo Treats Fans To Exclusive New Mixtape “Best Rapper Alive”

G Herbo must have taken notice of how well J. Cole’s Inevitable podcast did. The latter was able to give his fans exclusive content behind a paywall, and Herbo attempted something very similar with his latest mixtape, Best Rapper Alive. Instead of dropping the tape on Spotify or Apple Music, or even YouTube, he decided to post it on his own website. Well, an app that one can download from his website. The rapper is trying to cut out the middle man and cater directly to his fanbase with Best Rapper Alive. The music is exactly what you’d expect.

Best Rapper Alive boasts 16 tracks, and G Herbo does his thing on pretty much all of them. “Through the Fire” and “Roc Block” are showcases for the rapper’s charismatic delivery. G Herbo has already given his fans two separate projects in 2024. Including the aptly titled Strictly for My Fans 2.0. It’s a little bit ironic, though, that he decided to put Best Rapper Alive on an exclusive app instead of the one specifically titled after his fans. We digress. “Blueprint” and “Hold Me Down” are also standout cuts that boast slick beats and spirited vocal performances from G Herbo. It’s up to you to decide whether you want to download a whole new app to listen. Those who do, though, will be pleased.

Let us know what you think of this brand new album, in the comments section down below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. We will continue to keep you informed on all of your favorite artists and their upcoming projects.

JT Trades Shots With Fan For Shading Lil Uzi Vert On Social Media

JT has been trading shots with a fan on social media for criticizing Lil Uzi Vert’s Pink Tape artwork. When one user posted a screenshot of the various covers on X (formerly Twitter), JT popped up in the replies with a passionate defense of her partner of several years.

“Y’all b*tches are annoying every day looking for new ways to make ppl come at him get off his d*ck FR! Sh*t dropped over a year ago bored ass b*tch,” JT wrote back.
