Casanova Appeals Sentence: ‘Everything To The Chin, Nothing To The Heart’

Casanova has officially been sentenced and now his legal team has officially filed an appeal. The Brooklyn rapper was viciously slashed across his face right before sentencing and his lawyer feels jail is not safe for him following his denouncement of the Gorilla Stone Nation gang.

According to HotNewHipHop, Casanova’s lawyer James Kousouros mentioned that because the Brooklyn rapper (real name Caswell Senior) denounced his formal ties to the Gorilla Stone Nation gang, his sentence should be reduced.

“The fact is that Mr. Senior stayed in this gang as it furthered his rap career,” Casanova’s lawyers said. “As he gained moderate success and then a recording contract with Roc Nation, he increasingly separated himself from the gang’s activities despite remaining a member.”

Casanova received 188 months or 15 years behind bars on June 27 from U.S. District Judge Philip M. Halpern. Included in the crimes he’s accused of are a shooting in Florida on July 5, 2020, a robbery in New York City on August 5, 2018 and conspiracy to traffic over 100 kilograms of marijuana.

“Caswell Senior is not just a notorious recording artist, but he is also a high-profile leader of a vicious street gang and a magnet for gang violence,” U.S. Attorney Damian Williams said in a press release at the time. “At a crowded Miami house party, Senior personally fired a gun that seriously injured and could have killed a victim, inciting a shootout.”

He continued: “Further, Senior’s stature in the community was central to Gorilla Stone’s successful recruitment and nationwide expansion. Today’s sentencing — along with the other significant sentences that have been imposed in this case — shows once again that gang life is not worth it and will lead to many years in prison.”

Casanova was the 12th defendant in the Gorilla Stone case to have been sentenced. Five more defendants have pled guilty and are awaiting sentencing.

After he received the sentence he took to to Twitter and issued a short message, saying, “Everything to the chin, Nothing to the heart. I GET IT NOW. I hope that don’t go over ya heads.”

Prior to his sentencing, Cas was assaulted in a bloody prison altercation that took place at Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark, New Jersey in early June.

Kim Kardashian Says She Struggles Raising Her Kids Without Kanye: ‘It Kills Me’

Kim Kardashian recently shared she was having a hard time telling her kids about her situation with their father, Kanye West.

During the latest episode of The Kardashians, the reality TV star detailed her struggles with her children, North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm after parting ways with her husband.

After sharing how overwhelmed she was when he made those comments about Jews, Kim talked about her parenting issues.

“I love my life with my babies,” the Skims founder said in a confessional. “This week in particular has been so hard. Obviously, there’s just times in life when things get really hectic and I think you just have to tune it all out and realize that being a mom and being really present is the most important thing.”

Admitting she is “in the trenches,” Kim said, “I am the one doing all the daily stuff all the time. I do the morning routine, I do the night routine, it’s like a pit stop with race cars.”

“It’s like, ‘Brush your teeth, brush your teeth, brush your teeth, brush your teeth, do your hair, do your hair, do your hair, do your hair, like changing tires really quickly,” she shared before adding how she is trying to protect her kids and hide what their father is doing publically.

“I am just in protection mode of my kids and just try to hide everything,” Kim continued. “It’s just hard for me to figure out like if they don’t know anything, why wouldn’t dad come over for dinner?”

“Why isn’t dad at my things? That kills me. It’s the one thing that gives me anxiety, because then I’m embarrassed if people are going to say something at a game or a function.

“Is it safe? Is it dangerous? I just don’t know what to do. I’ve been managing it the best way I know how, because I want my kids to see a healthy dad, you know, it’s just a lot. So I take it day by day,” Kim said.

Justin Combs Hit With Two Misdemeanors In DUI Case

Last month Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and Misa Hylton’s 29-year-old Justin Combs, was arrested in Beverly Hills on DUI charges. Misa posted a series of angry posts following his arrest subliminally mentioning Diddy. She wrote, “How do you go from the greatest to ever do it to, to making all your money off of alcohol and suing the damn alcohol company.” Now Justin is facing two misdemeanor charges for drinking and driving.
Radar Online reports:

According to court records, on June 27, a criminal case was filed against Justin Combs. He was hit with 2 misdemeanor charges for driving under the influence and for having a blood alcohol content (BAC) higher than 0.08% or more.

A pretrial hearing date has been set for August 10.

Earlier this year, Xscape singer Latocha Scott and her husband Rocky Bivens were exposed for allegedly stealing money from Latocha’s sister Tamika Scott. Tamika accused Rocky of fraudulently cashing her Xscape royalty checks. 
The story was shown on their hit TV show SWV & Xscape: The Queens of R&B where it was revealed that Rocky was getting kickbacks from certain promoters unbeknownst to Kandi, Tamika and Tiny.

Now Tamika admits she has a protective order against her sister and brother-in-law because they’ve been threatening her.

Ice Cube Believes His Vaccination Refusal for $9 Million Movie Was Leaked ‘To Put Pressure On Him’

Rapper Ice Cube recently shared the details of why he passed up on a $9 million role in a movie because he wasn’t vaccinated.
Ice Cube appeared on Joe Rogan’s podcast this week and confirmed that he was set to co-star in Sony’s Oh Hell No back in 2020 but confessed he didn’t know how the story broke in the first place. He claimed he “didn’t go out telling everybody what happened” and suspected the story got leaked to put pressure on him.

“I thought it was chicken sh**,” Ice Cube told Joe Rogan Thursday. “It’s like what happened to the HIPAA laws you know?”

Originally, the Hollywood Reporter leaked the story, but it still didn’t convince the rapper to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.

“They try to, you know, put my business in the street, put pressure on me, everybody around me tell me how stupid I am so I can go get vaxxed and say you know: ‘Please let me do the movie,’” Ice Cube said. “You know that was never gonna happen. I don’t care if it was 20 million. That was never gonna happen.”

Rogan, who has also publicly shared his own skepticism surrounding the vaccine, agreed with the rapper that it was the right decision.

“And if you got injured from that vaccine you would have paid that 20 million to be healthy again,” Rogan said.

In related news, Moderna revealed its plans in March to price its COVID-19 vaccines between $110 to $130 per dose, almost five-fold more than the $26 per dose the company has charged the government since last July.

Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland Building Low Income Housing in Houston

In case you don’t know, Houston natives Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland have been vigilant philanthropists since their early days of Destiny’s Child. Now the two icons are joining forces to build homes for low income Housing residents.

Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo announces the county’s collaboration with Houston legends Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland in efforts to mitigate homelessness in the Bayou City.

The $7.2 million initiative, provided through the American Rescue Plan funding, will create 31 new permanent supported housing units for people experiencing homelessness, the judge said.

Hidalgo said a bigger initiative will be announced in September, which is around the time Beyonce will be in Houston for shows on the “Renaissance” world tour, happening on Saturday, Sept. 23, and Sunday, Sept. 24 at the NRG Stadium.

Sexyy Red is scheduled to perform at the upcoming “Days Of Summer” Cruise Fest. The cruise, hosted by DJ Khaled, will take place from July 2-5, featuring various other performances and events. Future and Lil Baby headline the four-day excursion in the Bahamas. Other events on the cruise include various DJ sets, a comedy show, a workout class, several parties, and even a mental health workshop.

Sexyy Red will be lending a hand at the mental health workshop, which will be hosted by the founders of SoMypolar. SoMypolar is a non-profit founded by Melissa Duncan and Jihan Gabart, dedicated to servicing the mental health community. Sexyy Red has been making quite the splash since her breakout hit “Pound Town” went viral. She collaborated with Nicki Minaj last month, releasing a remix of the song called “Pound Town 2.” The track later garnered the attention of conservative commentator Ben Shapiro, who was shocked by it’s explicit lyrics.

Sexyy Red Joins The Lineup

This past weekend, Sexyy Red cut off her performance at Summer Smash early. She reportedly walked off the stage after getting annoyed that audience members threw various objects at her during the show. She later received backlash for the incident, with various social media users claiming that her walk-off was uncalled for. Other users claim that her reaction was completely understandable, as the crowd had no right to throw objects at her. Recently, she responded to the backlash on TikTok. Sexyy Red mouthed the words “whatever,” as she walked onscreen in the clip carrying stacks of cash.

The rapper also recently attended the 2023 BET Awards, and she made her presence known. She twerked in the aisles of the awards show alongside Chrisean Rock, who’s currently pregnant with Blueface’s child. She also gave the audience an impromptu performance of “Pound Town” as they cheered her on. Earlier this month, Sexyy Red dropped her new album, titled Hood Hottest Princess. John Boyega Reveals He Spoke With Jaime Foxx Directly

The movie premier for ‘They Cloned Tyrone,’ featuring Jaime Foxx brought all the stars together–except Foxx. Conflicting reports about his health began to circulate causing social media to wonder if Foxx was really on his way to recovery.  His co-star actor John Boyega admitted his phone calls to Jamie had gone unanswered in the wake of his mysterious medical emergency.

John just revealed he has made direct contact and producer Datari Turner said “He’ll be back to work very soon.”

People Magazine reports:

John Boyega is sending his well wishes to co-star Jamie Foxx.

The Breaking actor, 31, discussed missing Foxx at the Hollywood premiere of their film They Cloned Tyrone, and revealed to PEOPLE that he recently chatted with the 55-year-old actor — who has been recovering after experiencing a “medical complication” — on the phone.

“He finally picked up the phone. Thank you, bro,” Boyega told PEOPLE Tuesday night. “He’s doing well. And then, you know, we just giving him the privacy, and we can’t wait for his return.”

“I gave him the well wishes directly,” the actor added. “I gave him all the well wishes. So I’m just gonna be waiting until he comes back out here. So take your time, Jamie. We love you, bro.”

Said Datari Turner, who co-produced the film alongside Foxx, “He’s doing amazing. I promise you. Doing really, really good. [Director] Juel [Taylor] talked to him yesterday. John Boyega talked to him yesterday. He’s in really, really good shape and spirits. And he’ll be back on the screen. He’ll be back to work very soon.”
