Chris Paul’s Feelings Towards The Grizzlies Revealed

Chris Paul is certainly one of the best point guards to ever play the game of basketball. However, there is one accolade that is missing from his career. Of course, we are talking about an NBA title. He was two games away from winning one back in 2021 with the Phoenix Suns. Although, the Milwaukee Bucks ultimately bested them. Now, it is at a point where Paul is no longer with the Suns, and will be looking for his next team to play with.

Right now, Chris Paul is on the Washington Wizards. Overall, it is becoming increasingly clear that they are going to waive him. Perhaps even a sign and trade is on the table. However, the fact remains that we will likely be seeing Paul in a brand-new jersey next year. There are plenty of teams that could use him, including the Memphis Grizzlies. With all of the Ja Morant stuff going on, it is clear that they could use a veteran leader. Ultimately, Paul would be perfect in that role.

Chris Paul To Memphis?

However, it does not seem like Chris Paul has any interest in actually going down South. Zach Lowe of ESPN asked around the league about the possibility, and the response was pretty telling. “I asked some people last night, would he ever want to go to Memphis and be the veteran mentor that this team, who’s not going to have its point guard for the first 25 games of the season, so badly needs? Didn’t get a lot of good feedback on that one,” he said.

So there you have it Grizzlies fans. Do not expect Chris Paul to come and save your franchise and youth next season. Instead, it is likely that Paul will go to a team like the Clippers, or maybe another potential title contender. Let us know where you would like to see CP3, in the comments section down below. Jerry West Recalls Kobe Bryant’s Desire To Play For The Grizzlies

Jerry West is one of the biggest legends in the entire history of the NBA. Firstly, he is the league’s logo. Overall, that is a huge honor, and it seems like the league has no plans of changing this fact, anytime soon. Moreover, West is someone who has had a ton of success as a builder in the sport. Of course, he helped construct the three-peat Los Angeles Lakers who boasted the talents of Kobe Bryant, Shaq, and many more. Additionally, he is now in charge of the Los Angeles Clippers.

Recently, he got to spend some time with one of his players, Paul George. Overall, this was for George’s podcast, Podcast P. During the conversation, Jerry West had an incredible revelation about his time with the Memphis Grizzlies. As it turns out, in 2004, Kobe Bryant expressed his desire to join the Grizzlies. However, despite being the team’s GM, West advised against it. Ultimately, he wanted Bryant to play in Los Angeles, as he believed that’s where he belonged.

Jerry West Speaks

“He became a free agent. Ok? And he called me and his agent then was Rob Pelinka,” Jerry West began. “And so I met them in Orange County in a hotel room and he said he wanted to come to Memphis and play basketball. And I looked at him, I said, are you kidding me? And he said no, and I said, ‘Kobe, no, no. You know, it’s just you belong somewhere out here.’ And even though he would have never played there, I just want to reassure him that don’t feel like you have any obligation with me or the Grizzlies to play here and because he would have never played there, it wasn’t gonna happen.”

Had Kobe Bryant gone to Memphis, it would have completely changed the NBA. However, he stayed in L.A., much to the delight of Lakers fans. If you are a Grizzlies supporter, you must be hating Jerry West right now. However, we doubt the legend actually cares. Let us know what you think about all of this, in the comments section down below.

Ja Morant Praised By Jaren Jackson Jr. Amid Second Gun Incident

Ja Morant has been going through quite a few issues as of late. If you remember, Morant was suspended for eight games for flashing a gun on Instagram. Subsequently, he did again just a few weeks ago. Now, the NBA is contemplating a very lengthy suspension. Overall, this could derail the Memphis Grizzlies next season, especially if he is gone for 82 games. Moreover, Adam Silver has made it clear that he will only make an official ruling after the NBA Finals. He also claimed that the league has uncovered some new and troubling information.

Needless to say, things are not very good for Ja Morant right now. There aren’t too many people out there trying to vouch for him. Instead, a lot of people are trying to distance themselves from the young man. However, he does have some teammates who completely have his back. For instance, Jaren Jackson Jr. was on Paul George’s Podcast P podcast, where he spoke about the issues with Ja. During the podcast, Jackson gave an update on his teammate, while also delivering some praise.

Ja Morant Finally Gets Positive Reinforcement

“He’s good,” Jackson Jr. simply explained. “He’s I think just growing up with this much attention on you, especially being this young. It’s a lot to deal with. […] Dude’s great. People always gotta understand that everybody human. That’s my brother though, no matter what. I stand my brother and I think that’s the lesson everybody should take away from this.” Needless to say, it must be nice for Ja to get at least some kind of praise these days. For the most part, it has felt like his career has been shrouded in nothing but pure negativity.

With the NBA Finals heading into Game 3, Ja Morant will be anxiously awaiting his fate. Many throughout the league believe either a half-season or full-season suspension is coming. Only time will tell whether or not this is the case. Let us know what you think of all this, in the comments section down below. JJ Redick Predicts Ja Morant Suspension Length

JJ Redick has become one of the biggest names in the basketball mediascape. Since his retirement a few years ago, he has gone all in on his The Old Man & The Three podcast. Moreover, he has made regular appearances on First Take. Overall, he has been a huge breath of fresh air on the show as he does a masterful job breaking down the game. Although Stephen A. Smith might not love him, the producers of First Take sure do. That is why he is on at least two to three times a week, especially in the middle of the playoffs.

This week, the NBA is going to be a massive story thanks to the Western Conference and Eastern Conference Finals. However, another NBA-related story has popped up and piqued people’s interest. Of course, we are talking about Ja Morant, who was suspended for toting a gun on social media. He had done this a few months ago and was suspended eight games for it. Consequently, there is an expectation that he could get a total of 50 games this time around. Overall, that would be a massive punishment.

JJ Redick Speaks And Shows Mercy

As far as Redick is concerned, a lot of the numbers being thrown around are simply too much. He doesn’t like 50 games, and he certainly doesn’t like 25 games either. In the clip up above, he claims that the NBA should just double whatever they gave him the first time. “I do think a 25-game suspension for this is too severe,” JJ Redick said. “I would generally start at probably doubling up with the suspension that has already been which was 8 games.” Sixteen games seem like a bit of a light punishment, and a lot of fans agree.

That said, it will be interesting to see what goes down here. The Memphis Grizzlies and the NBA want to protect their image. However, Ja Morant is a star who puts fans in the seats. Overall, it is a difficult situation that is going to be interesting to watch over the coming days. Let us know if you agree with Redick, in the comments down below.

Stephen Jackson Calls Ja Morant A “Moron”

Stephen Jackson is a former NBA player who went through a lot in his career. Although he made some mistakes, he was able to eventually redeem himself. Now, he offers advice to the young players in the NBA who may follow in his footsteps. Overall, this is a very noble goal, as he could very well prevent a player from making a life-altering mistake. Moreover, he is seen as an OG in NBA spaces, which gives him that much more authority when speaking on certain topics.

A few months ago, when Ja Morant got in trouble for toting a gun at a Colorado strip club, Stephen Jackson defended Morant. At the time, he noted that it was a mistake and that Ja can still get his head right. However, Ja ended up making the exact same mistake over the weekend. This led to criticism pointed in Jackson’s direction. That said, Jackson is owning up to his role in defending Morant. During an episode of the I Am Athlete podcast, Jackson was very blunt about Ja’s behavior.

Stephen Jackson Speaks

“I was one guy that actually went to bat for him because I’ve been a guy who thrown a lot of money at a young age and made a mistake,” Jackson said. “… All the people like me that was taking up for him that said it was a mistake, (that) he’s a young kid, we can’t go to bat for him this time. This was the dumbest thing he could’ve done. This is a moron move. His parents should be embarrassed.” These are some very strong words. However, it aligns with how many throughout the NBA world are feeling right about now.

At the end of the day, Stephen Jackson is not responsible for what happened here. Although, you can tell just how much he cares about the young stars of the NBA, which is admirable. Hopefully, Ja Morant is able to get some help so he can fully focus on basketball, moving forward. Let us know what you think of this situation, in the comments section below. Ja Morant Antics Lead To Reactions From Snoop Dogg & Fat Joe

Ja Morant has everyone in the NBA talking right now. Overall, this is for all of the wrong reasons. Once again, Morant has gotten himself into some trouble. This is due to the fact that he was toting a gun on Instagram Live. Although he had previously gotten in trouble for this earlier in the season, he has yet to learn his lesson. Ultimately, Morant has been suspended by his team, and he could miss a significant portion of next season. It’s a bad look for the Grizzlies and an even worse blow to Ja’s career.

Furthermore, a lot of prominent figures have been offering their commentary on this situation. This includes rapper Fat Joe who is a massive NBA fan. Whenever a major topic happens in the sports world, you can count on Fat Joe to comment. Overall, this Ja Morant situation is no different. Fat Joe Hits Ja Morant With A Reality Check

“That man is trying hard to go play [in] Turkey or China or Serbia-Montenegro,” Fat Joe explained. “He’s trying hard to get kicked out the NBA. And those guys that’s with you? They not your peoples, Ja. They don’t care. This is a problem we have with our community becoming famous because the people around you, they like the girls that’s watching, they love the lifestyle — but they’re not you. They didn’t dribble the basketball in the snow on Christmas trying to figure out the Kobe moves or the Jordan moves. They didn’t put in the work like you.”

Snoop’s Got Jokes

In addition to Fat Joe, Snoop Dogg also commented on the Ja Morant situation. However, he opted to do it in a funny way as he posted the infamous Usher “Confessions” meme. At this point, everyone knows about Ja and his antics. Whether or not he can clean up his act, remains to be seen. Let us know what you think about all of this, in the comments section down below. SOURCE SPORTS: Ja Morant Suspended From All Grizzlies Activities Amid New Gun Video

Screen Shot 2023 05 15 at 8.50.33 AM

Merely two months after his suspension from the Grizzlies for flashing a gun on Instagram Live, Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant has been suspended from all Grizzlies activities indefinitely after he was seen flashing a gun again on Instagram Live.

The video was noticed on Morant’s friend, Davonte Pack’s IG feed.

Memphis suspended Morant while an investigation is taking place, but NBA spokesperson Mike Bass said, “We are aware of the social media post involving Ja Morant and are in the process of gathering more information.”

Back in March, Morant was suspended eight games due to conduct detrimental to the team after brandishing a gun in a Colorado nightclub. Morant didn’t make All-NBA, which resulted in nixing more than $39 million in potential earnings. The eight-game suspension in March factored into Morant’s All-NBA chances.

Past decisions have also impacted Morant off the floor. He has become one of the biggest faces of the NBA through endorsement deals with Nike, Powerade, Hulu and many more notable brands. The arrival of Morant’s first Nike signature was delayed in April.

Ja Morant Suspended After Second Gun-Flashing Incident

About two months ago, the Memphis Grizzlies suspended Ja Morant after he flashed a gun on social media. The incident caused a lot of discussion in the NBA world, prompting an apology from the star guard and much debate on his actions. However, it seems that this rabbit hole is open once again after he flashed a gun for the second time on Instagram Live. As soon as news broke on this development, many wondered whether we’d see the same situation play out. Now we have confirmation that the Memphis Grizzlies have indeed suspended the South Carolina native.

“We are aware of the social media video involving Ja Morant,” the basketball team expressed in a statement issued Sunday (May 14). “He is suspended from all team activities pending League review. We have no further comment at this time.” Unfortunately, this follows a streak of bad luck for the 23-year-old. Recently, reports indicated that not being on an All-NBA team cost him a $39 million bonus. Many debated whether it’s fair to dangle money in a player’s face like that, especially after he played a great season.

Ja Morant Suspended After Another Gun-Toting Clip

Of course, the Memphis Grizzlies’ post-season efforts saw an early end thanks to the Los Angeles Lakers. What’s more is that Ja Morant was out on injury for the playoff series’ second game. As much as he tried his best, the team’s run ended with a 4-2 loss in what was a volatile, exciting, and tense set of games. Given Morant’s talent and determination on the court, news of his extracurriculars and suspension is frankly a devastating loss. Since this is by no means a new occurrence, perhaps the conditions around his return to the Tennessee organization will be much more strict this time around.

Regardless, only time will tell what becomes of his future in not just the team, but the NBA asa whole. Considering his other legal issues, it isn’t looking pretty for him from any angle. Hopefully all parties involved keep learning from this situation, especially when it comes to others’ safety. On that note, for the latest news and updates on Ja Morant, keep checking in with HNHH.

SOURCE SPORTS: Agent for Dillon Brooks Blasts Shams Charania Report of Being Ousted from Memphis Grizzlies

Agent for Dillon Brooks Blasts Shams Charania Report of Being Ousted from Memphis Grizzlies

Dillon Brooks appears to be on the outs with the Memphis Grizzlies. Following the initial report, Brooks’ agent, Mike George, has blasted The Athletic reporter Shams Charania.

According to Charania, the franchise told unrestricted free agent Dillon Brooks that he would not be brought back to the team “under any circumstances.”

Brooks has had a strong personality throughout his Grizzlies tenure, most recently making headlines due to his prodding of Lakers superstar LeBron James in the first-round series. Now, the Grizzlies state Brooks has been alerted that the team will move on, opting for both sides to receive a fresh start. Additional incidents occurred throughout the season with Donovan Mitchell and Draymond Green.

The Grizzlies will now look to replace the three-and-D player in the offseason.

Hitting Twitter, George blasted Charania. He wrote, “@ShamsCharnia the leader of spreading false news and attacking players. Why any player in the league talks to this guy blows my mind. #weirdo”

Dillon Brooks also spoke out. After losing in the playoffs, Brooks had been silent, opting to skip post-game media availability and receiving a $25,000 fine in the process.

Brooks was on hand at the Grizzlies’ season wrap-up session and gave his thoughts to the media. “That’s who I am,” Brooks said. “I’m a competitor. I compete. I don’t think it got LeBron ‘geeked’ up. He’s back in the playoffs, it’d been a little while. He was ready to play.”

After the Los Angeles Lakers ousted the Memphis Grizzlies from the NBA Playoffs, King James didn’t stick around to shake hands with his opponent, especially Dillon Brooks. But over the weekend, the Lakers star did have some messages to get off, one of which was written by JAY-Z.

Hitting Twitter, James sent a message to the young boys, evoking the energy of HOV’s “Trouble” when, at a point, he was doing the same.

Dillon Brooks’ Agent Lashes Out At Reporter For “Fake News”

Much has been said about Dillon Brooks. The Memphis Grizzlies forward put himself in the spotlight during the team’s first-round matchup against the Lakers. Primarily, Brooks angled himself as beefing with LeBron James. However, Brooks struggled to back up his words on the court. The Grizzlies would be eliminated in six games by the Lakers. Brooks averaged 10.5 points per game versus the Lakers, even while being frequently left open on the perimeter. His three-point shooting sat at a dismal 23.8%, going 10-for-42 from behind the arc.

Brooks’ trash-talking and other off-court behaviors appear to have cost him his future in Memphis. Reports suggest that Brooks, who has played for the Grizzlies since a draft day trade in 2017, will be allowed to explore free agency. During the playoffs, Brooks also told the media that he felt that they had turned him into a “villain”. Now his representatives are taking that one step further.

Brooks’ Agent Says Shams Charaina Is Spreading “Fake News”

Shams Charaina is a very well-respected basketball reporter who has been with The Athletic since 2018. However, he appears to have drawn the ire of several people for initially breaking the story that the Grizzlies were allowing Brooks to walk in the offseason. Specifically, people point at Charaina as “scapegoating” Brooks for the Grizzlies’ first-round exit. Notably, Brooks’ comments during the Lakers series do appear to have impacted his future with the team. “We’re going to take a different approach as it pertains to [trash talk] next season,” Grizzlies general manager Zach Kleiman said Sunday during the team’s exit interviews. “You’ll see a different approach from this team, but at the same time, confidence is important. … There’s a line there, certainly.”

This sentiment was echoed by Brooks’ agent, Mike George. George spent most of May 3 retweeting media clips of people criticizing the Grizzlies for their decision. As former NBA pro, and well-known beef haver, JJ Reddick sounded off on First Take, George added his thoughts to Reddicks’ defense of his client. “@ShamsCharania the leader of spreading false news and attacking players. Why any player in the league talks to this guy blows my mind. #weirdo”. George is obviously going to defend his client, who will likely find a landing spot in the NBA next season. However, while there is a valid argument for a negative media narrative around Brooks, he still said the things he said while playing poorly in crucial games.
