Megan Thee Stallion Has A Murderous ‘Hottie Homecoming’ In Her New ‘Roc Steady’ Video With Flo Milli

Megan Thee Stallion is about a month removed from the release of Megan: Act II, a reissue of June’s Megan that adds new tracks. Among them is the Flo Milli-featuring “Roc Steady,” for which Meg just unveiled a new video today (November 27).

Ahead of the video came a teaser that packed a lot of exposition into ten seconds. It started with newspaper headlines reading “Murders At RSH School,” “3 Students Found Dead,” “Mysterious Bite Marks,” and “No Suspects Found.” We then get some shorts of a “Hottie Homecoming” event in a school gymnasium, including some of Meg as a cheerleader. Indeed, that’s generally what’s going on in the full video.

Meg previously explained on X (formerly Twitter) of the song’s creation, “I called Flo milli to thee studio and she kicked me and the engineer out the room for like 45 min [laughing emoji] and when I came back in I was shooookkkk.” Flo responded, “lmaooo chill i was shy [laughing emojis] can’t let nobody see my crazy side [crying emoji] we got the job done tho.”

“Roc Steady” arrived after Meg and Flo worked together on a remix of Latto’s “Sunday Service.” Meanwhile, the new video isn’t Flo’s biggest reveal of the past few days, as she just announced she’s pregnant.

Joe Budden Says “Something Funny” Has Been Going On With Megan Thee Stallion’s Numbers

Joe Budden discussed the success of Megan Thee Stallion’s newest release, Megan: Act II, during the latest episode of his podcast. In doing so, he and his co-hosts gave their opinion on the value of album sales and whether it has any standing with regard to an artist’s quality of music.

“The numbers to me act as the stock report. I big up Tyler because it’s not an artist thing. When we start talking numbers, we’re not talking artistry anymore,” Budden said. From there, he brought up Megan. “For me, I see the play on the blackboard, but the numbers is gonna tell what is and what’s not or why aren’t they being manipulated. If we putting you on everything spoken. If we tapping you to host the awards, we giving you the commercials, we putting you everywhere feasible, somebody that spent something to do with this is gonna want to see a number come back. It tells a story.”

Tuesday, July 30, 2024; Atlanta, Ga; Grammy winner Megan Thee Stallion performs during a presidential campaign rally for Vice President Kamala Harris on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at the Georgia State Convocation Center in Atlanta, Ga.

As for what that story is, Budden said it shows “whoever is on your team is not looking for their payday from the music aspect of what’s going on.” He once again clarified, “numbers are not a reflection of artistry and quality of music,” but praised Tyler, the Creator for being so successful without too many tricks.

Megan Thee Stallion Shows Her Adoration For Houston Rap Culture With “Bigger In Texas” Visual

Megan Thee Stallion, while providing a lot of bangers on MEGAN, it’s subsequent ACT II takes all gas and no brakes to a new level. If the cover wasn’t telling enough for you, it does hint at the sonic direction for these 13 new tracks. The gaudy diamond-encrusted font and her extravagant grill scream that this is going to be strictly Southern hip-hop slappers. Right on cue, you are going to put in the time machine as the Houston rapper is doing just that with the wavy synths to the familiar drum patterns. This is easily the most she has leaned into her H-Town roots in her music and most of the love letters do the era justice.

One of those prime examples is “Bigger In Texas,” the lead-off cut for this extended version of her self-titled record. The brand-new visual especially shows off her love for the Lone Star State with the over-the-top lowriders, Johnny Dang’s famous jewelry store, and plenty of cameos from artists that paved the way. Slim Thug, Paul Wall, and Sauce Walka are just a few that show love to the H-Town Hottie. As for the track itself, Meg brings her patented flow, adlibs, bars, and the whole bit and it’s a pretty impressive display regardless of how much you’ve heard this formula. There are some hilarious flashes of her humor as well with gut-busting bars like, “Pockets gettin’ thickеr and thicker, I’m tastin’ the money, it look likе I ate a few hundreds / I just hopped on a G6, I’m gettin’ head while I’m playin’ my Switch, hm.”

Megan Thee Stallion Proves That Everything Is ‘Bigger In Texas’ With Her New Video

It should come as no surprise that Texas native Megan Thee Stallion has repurposed her home state’s unofficial slogan for her latest single. In fact, the only surprise is that it took so long for her to make “Bigger In Texas,” considering how much pride she has for her hometown, Houston, and the surrounding territory.

“Bigger In Texas” arrives along with 10 other all-new songs as part of her new album, Megan: Act II. Also included on the new project are a remix of her social media favorite, “Mamushi,” featuring K-pop girl group Twice, and the previously released RM collaboration, “Neva Play.” And while fans weren’t sure about the new collection’s artwork, they’ll almost certainly eat up new collaborations with Flo Milli (“Roc Steady”) and Spiritbox (“TYG”).

The new version of Megan follows a productive year for Thee Stallion, who independently released the original Megan as she completed her Hot Girl Summer Tour along with GloRilla. She also collaborated with Glo a couple of times, first on “Wanna Be,” then on its remix with Cardi B, and most recently on “How I Look,” leading to calls for the duo to consider a collaboration album — calls they appear ready to oblige. Meg also teamed up with Latto and Flo Milli on their “Sunday Service” remix. All that in just 2024 makes you wonder just how much she’ll be able to get done in 2025.

Megan Thee Stallion Unveils The Tracklist For “Megan: Act II”

Megan Thee Stallion’s MEGAN era was ultimately a very successful one. The Houston rapper, producer, and songwriter moved around 64,000 copies in its initial week. It led to a number three debut on the Billboard Hot 200 chart it spawned several major singles. “Mamushi,” “HISS,” and “Cobra,” are a few of them to rattle off, but she’s not stopping there. Last Friday, October 18, it was revealed that an extension of the project is on the way, and we are extremely close to that happening now.

Megan Thee Stallion will be releasing MEGAN: ACT II this Friday, October 25 and in that previous announcement, she also showed off its Memphis-inspired cover art that was plucked from the 2000s. With us being just two days away from it, the superstar act is looking to build as much anticipation as possible. She’s doing so today by unveiling the tracklist, which is officially a 13-song collection. Given that it’s directly attached to MEGAN, it’s more of sequel, rather than a deluxe.

Fans Are Excited For Megan Thee Stallion’s Newly Announced ‘Megan: Act II’ Album, But They Absolutely Hate Its Teased Artwork

As if October wasn’t already a busy month for Megan Thee Stallion, the “Neva Play” rapper had added another project to her full plate.

On Halloween (October 31), some lucky Hotties will have the chance to party with Megan at her annual Hottieween charity event in Chicago, Illinois. For those not in attendance, they can spend their evening watching the Grammy Award winner’s Prime Video documentary Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words. Well ahead of those occasions, Meg will treat fans to a new body of work.

Today (October 18), Megan announced the official release date for her album, Megan: Act Two. “MEGAN: ACT II. OCTOBER 25 [butterfly emoji],” wrote the rapper on X (formerly Twitter).

Similar to Megan, which dropped in June, the cover draws inspiration from an animal. Instead of a snake, Megan is re-imagined as a butterfly. Despite the empowering message of the visual and nostalgic call back to late-1990s/early-2000s rap designs, Megan’s followers aren’t fond of it.

“GAG US, but this better not be the cover,” wrote one user.

“What is this cover… help,” penned another.

“Fire the graphic designer immediately,” wrote one user.

Megan also drew the same backlash. Eventually, the rapper gave into fans’ demand and had its artwork changed. Now, they are hoping she does the same this go around.
