Meek Mill Drops The ‘Heathenism’ EP While Proclaiming He ‘Ain’t Gay’ In Response To Diddy Rumors

Yesterday (February 28) was an unusual day for Meek Mill. The rapper found himself at the center of online conversations after he appeared to be referenced in a lawsuit filed against Diddy. The suit claims that Diddy said he had sex with a rapper whose name was redacted from the document. A footnote clarified of the redaction, though, “He is a Philadelphia Rapper who dated Nicki Minaj,” which many saw as proof it was Mill the document was addressing.

Mill then got into it with DJ Akademiks, and not long after that, he dropped Heathenism, a new five-track EP that includes features from Future and Fivio Foreign.

Before and after the release of the project, Meek took to X (formerly Twitter) to continue sharing his thoughts on the Diddy situation. He wrote in one tweet, “The 2 things they say … we snitching or we gay ….we generating 100’s of millions from music it’s not a coincidence we all gay and snitches …. They are powering this stuff even if it’s fake! The goal is to disrupt the hip hop community…. I own this music that drop tomar play it!!!!!”

Meek added in another, “Every black blog site enhanced that post to make me seem gay…. I change laws for our people I donate millions … they are designed to destroy the image of black leaders! It can’t work with me tho you gotta really kill me and I still will get bigger after death! This god not me lol.” He also wrote, “When I got a girl around me I’m f#%king her twice a day lol ask some of ya favorites … p*ssy don’t control me but it’s like a high… one love to the gay people but that juicy p#%sy do it for meeeeee [smiling emoji] I done ran red lights to get that feeling yall weird on here like devils lol.”

In response to one user who wrote, “Meek you have the right to remain silent,” the rapper replied, “I have the right to say I ain’t gay and I’ll trash anybody that play with my manhood lol.”

Here’s The Rundown On Meek Mill & Akademiks’ Diddy-Related Beef That Spilled Onto Twitter

The fallout from the new lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs continues. The discourse has predictably — perhaps inevitably — gone downhill as the focus shifted from the allegations of Combs’ inappropriate, bullying behavior to (sigh) beef between rapper Meek Mill and internet personality DJ Akademiks over gay rumors now circulating as a result of Meek Mill being mentioned in the lawsuit. Here’s a rundown of why Meek and Akademiks have been arguing on Twitter.

Why Was Meek Mill Mentioned In The New Diddy Lawsuit?

As pointed out earlier today, the lawsuit, filed by one of Diddy’s Off The Grid producers, Rodney “Lil Rod Madeit” Jones, claims that Combs boasted to Jones he had sexual intercourse with other entertainers, whose names were redacted.

DJ Akademiks, in reading the suit for his fans (shame on them) on social media, used the provided footnotes to determine that they were most likely Usher and Meek Mill. Naturally (sigh), as this report spread on social media, it kicked up the well-tread, utterly exhausting tendency of a certain segment of users to fixate on the alleged participants’ sexualities rather than, you know, anything Diddy did that might have been illegal or harmful.

Meek, upon discovering the rumors flying online, logged in to try to regain control of the narrative — rookie move. His insistence that some identified “they” were doing “damage control” (does he know what these words mean?) only drew more attention to the buzzing rumors, while his indirect threats toward Akademiks brought the man (slash “mouse”) himself to Meek’s digital doorstep. You can see a truncated version of the exchange below.

An important thing to remember in this situation is that anybody can say anything in a lawsuit. The point is to get attention and generate buzz around it, so plaintiffs’ attorneys will often make sure to put the most inflammatory allegations in the news cycle, hoping to embarrass the defendant into a quick settlement (as happened with Cassie’s lawsuit against Diddy, which kicked off the last several months worth of legal actions against the music impresario). Diddy has maintained his settlement with Cassie was not an admission of guilt, while decrying the new lawsuits as nothing but “money grabs.”

If Diddy really did engage in illegal or inappropriate behavior, he should be held accountable for it. Past that, the rest is nobody’s business. The main takeaway here is that the world really would be better off if we all stopped paying attention to DJ Akademiks.

Kanye West’s Old Comments About Meek Mill Re-Emerge Following New Diddy Lawsuit

Last year, Diddy faced a series of damning lawsuits alleging a wide range of sexual misconduct. While it began with accusations leveled by Cassie, that suit was settled very quickly and in following proceedings very few other notable names were implicated alongside Diddy. That hasn’t been true of the most recent series of allegations which has already roped in names like Stevie J, Yung Miami, and Nicki Minaj. But the newest lawsuit features some more direct allegations. While Meek Mill and Usher aren’t mentioned by name, it didn’t take fans long to find out that they were being discussed.

Investigations into the accusations made in the newest suit feature some descriptions that don’t do a great job of hiding who they’re talking about. It alleges that Diddy spoke on having sexual relations with two other notable figures in addition to Stevie J. The lawsuit mentions “Philadelphia rapper who dated Nicki Minaj” and “who performed at the Super Bowl and had a successful Vegas residency.” Fans pretty easily deciphered that it was talking about Meek Mill and Usher. In the wake of the revelation, some have brought up a Kanye West interview from back in 2022. In this particular clip he mentions them both. Check out what he has to say below.

Kanye West’s Old Comments On Meek Mill & Diddy

Fans might remember the clip from when it went viral just a few years ago. West goes from angry shouting to hysterical laughing across just a few minutes. He begins by calling out various rap figures that he believes were sent after him as part of some kind of contract. The rant connects to a conversation about his daughter allegedly being hidden from him. The situation wasn’t resolved until Travis Scott gave him the address she was at.

But by the end of the recording West is laughing hysterically. He’s seemingly very amused by the idea that Meek Mill was “sent after him” by someone. What do you think of the old audio of Kanye West talking about Meek Mill and Diddy? Do you think he was trying to tell fans that something was going on behind the scenes? Why Was Meek Mill Mentioned In A New Diddy Lawsuit?

It was revealed a few days ago that Diddy (real name Sean Combs) is facing a sexual harassment and assault lawsuit filed against him by former collaborator Rodney “Lil Rod Madeit” Jones. Since then, some have made note that Meek Mill and Usher appear to be referenced in the lawsuit.

Why Was Meek Mill Mentioned In A New Diddy Lawsuit?

Mill is not directly mentioned in the lawsuit. However, one excerpt from it reads, “Mr. Combs informed Mr. Jones that he had engaged in sexual intercourse with rapper[5] (REDACTED), R&B singer[6] (REDACTED), and Stevie J.” This is according to a report from XXL, which obtained a copy of the lawsuit, and also according to a video of internet personality DJ Akademiks looking over the actual lawsuit. The footnote for 5 reads, “He is a Philadelphia Rapper who dated Nicki Minaj,” and the footnote for 6 says, “He performed at the Superbowl and had a successful Vegas residency.”

Some people connected the dots and came to the conclusion that the notes seem to identify Meek and Usher as the redacted names.

In a statement shared with XXL, Diddy’s attorney Shawn Holley responded to the suit, saying, “Lil Rod is nothing more than a liar who filed a $30 million lawsuit shamelessly looking for an undeserved payday. His reckless name-dropping about events that are pure fiction and simply did not happen is nothing more than a transparent attempt to garner headlines. We have overwhelming, indisputable proof that his claims are complete lies. Our attempts to share this proof with Mr. Jones’ attorney, Tyrone Blackburn, have been ignored, as Mr. Blackburn refuses to return our calls. We will address these outlandish allegations in court and take all appropriate action against those who make them.”

While speaking on publishing issues in music, Hitmaka revealed that he has an issue with DJ Mustard.

Appearing on Way Up with Angela Yee, Hitmaka revealed he was working under Mustard on a song, that ended up being “Whatever You Need.”

“I was working under DJ Mustard early in my career and did a record and I gave it to Mustard,” Hitmaka said. “We ended up not working together anymore and he went and reproduced the record and hook because it was a sample. That turned into ‘Whatever You Need,’ Meek Mill, Chris Brown, and Ty Dolla $ign.”

Hitmaka revealed he was able to recover his publishing once he got leverage and advised everyone to have a lawyer on retainer.

Meek Mill’s Feature Verse Rate Is Minimum $250K, He Claims

Meek Mill and Rick Ross finished their 2023 on a strong note with their Too Good To Be True album, boasting 17 songs with guest appearances from the likes of Teyana Taylor, DJ Khaled, French Montana, Vory, Fabolous, and more. We’re curious to see what the Philly native will bring to the table in the new year, besides his work with Fivio Foreign on their joint “Same 24” single earlier this month. Even if Meek only delivers features, it sounds like he’ll still be making major money moves. According to a recent tweet from the recording artist, he makes a minimum of a quarter of a million dollars for each of the verses he gives out.

“Every time I do a verse I charge $250K and up,” Meek bragged via Twitter/X on Tuesday (January 23). “If you got $150K on sight and I like the song we can swap it out,” the 36-year-old added, raising some doubts among social media users. “Every time rappers post their feature prices like this publicly I be feeling like they just saying the one price they were able to get a label to pay for one time,” one person speculated beneath the original post.

How Much is a Meek Mill Feature?

Of course, putting his monetary achievements on blast isn’t the only post on Meek’s Twitter that’s been stirring up attention. After inquiring about how fans in countries like South Africa and Nigeria are able to listen to his music, he was heavily clowned. “I was asking how they listen to music in Africa because I wanna handle my business none of my contracts say they have rights to distribute me in Africa… basically looking for the money trail? [I don’t know] what platforms [are] used in South Africa lol,” he wrote when addressing his haters.

If you’re curious what Meek Mill spends his growing fortune on, we know that at least part of it goes toward taking care of his loved ones. Earlier this week it was reported that the “Uptown Vibes” hitmaker purchased his mother a third house, which she couldn’t be more grateful for. Meek Mill Shut Down ‘Ongoing’ Wale Beef Rumor When Questioned By A Fan Online

2024 seems to be off to a peaceful start in rap music. During a recent interview, Kid Cudi confirmed his relationship with Kanye West had been mended. This revelation, in a convoluted way, helped to put an end to his feud with Lupe Fiasco. Now, Meek Mill has come out to quash a longstanding beef rumor.

On January 20, the “Ima Boss” rapper prompted his followers on X (formerly Twitter) to submit questions, and he’d answer them truthfully. One of the questions posed to Meek surrounded his relationship with former Maybach Music Group collaborator Wale. Meek immediately shut it down when asked if the pair had any issues.

“Hell no,” he wrote. “We had our arguments before… years back. But I came in this game getting money with him. I’m not holding any grudges against my people. And for what?”

Similarly, during a sit-down with Drink Champs in October 2021, Wale also dismissed the fable. As host Nore asked him about reports that Rick Ross and Meek Mill had him barred from entering their private section at a nightclub, Wale laughed off the story.

“I don’t know sh*t about that,” he said. “That sh*t don’t even sound real to me. I talked to both of them n****s all the time. I ain’t hear nothing like that. If I ain’t hear nothing like that, I can’t say.”

Not that this has been cleared up; maybe the two will finally give supporters a new track.
