Jada Pinkett Smith has been promoting her new book Worthy as of late, and has shared a great deal about her relationship with Will Smith in the process. The actress and talk show host revealed that the two of them have actually been separated for the past six years, though they chose to hold off on an official divorce. Due to this, she said she was “shocked” that he called her his “wife” after slapping Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars. She also called 2Pac her “soulmate,” fueling longtime rumors that she had romantic feelings for the late rapper.
Amid the countless headlines Jada has made surrounding her relationship with Will, Rick Ross has taken to Instagram to weigh in. According to him, the whole debacle has him reconsidering the idea of marriage. He specifically referenced her claim that she and Will decided against a prenup ahead of their 1997 marriage.
“At one time, we thought Will Smith and Jada was Shaq and Kobe,” Rick Ross explained. “Just on some red carpet, let’s get this money type sh*t. But how Jada Pinkett Smith moving, it don’t make you wanna really be that close with a woman.” He went on, claiming that he’s not buying her reported net worth. “It done really make you reconsider ever being married. Damn, baby. You talking about so much personal business. What’s your credit score? What’s your beacon score? We don’t believe you was worth $50 million.”
“Nah, show it to us. Prove it to us,” he continued. “We don’t believe this sh*t. Now show us. Show us. Will, go home, Will. They called me Will growing up. Come on, Will. Make her go open you a Moon Pie.” What do you think of Rick Ross revealing that Jada Pinkett Smith has made him reconsider marriage? 50 Cent trolled Jada Pinkett Smith on Instagram, Tuesday, sharing an edited photo of the actress with 2Pac from the night of his death. The post comes after Jada described Pac as her “soulmate” during an interview with Rolling Out while promoting her new book, Worthy.
“Thug Life, Jada in New York looking for puffy. LOL you think you gonna get away with this,” 50 Cent captioned the photo of Jada Pinkett Smith. Fans shared plenty of laughs in response to the clip. “Why are u so evil your day is coming,” one user commented. Another wrote: “Puffy looking at this punching the air rn.” Others shared laughing emojis and praised 50’s editing skills.
As for Jada’s comments on 2Pac, she described him as her “soulmate” and referred to them as a “dyanmic duo.” “If there is such a thing as past lives, I definitely think ‘Pac and I have traveled a few together. You know, in various forms,” Jada said at the time. She added that their relationship wasn’t romantic. “It was like God made us that way,” she said.” It was like, look, I’m going to put y’all together, right? Y’all are going to be a dynamic duo. But I’m going to tell you right now, I’m going to make it so y’all are not going to be able to get together ’cause that just wasn’t the purpose.” Check out 50 Cent’s post about Jada below.
Jada has been openly discussing her relationship with Will Smith in several new interviews. At one point, she revealed that the two privately separated in 2016 and no longer refer to each other as “husband” and “wife.”
Jada Pinkett Smith says that Will Smith helped repair their marriage when he slapped Chris Rock at the Academy Awards in 2022. She made the comments while discussing her relationship with Will during an event in New York on Monday as caught by Variety. Despite recently revealing that they have been separated for years, Jada says that when Will stood up for her at the ceremony, she decided to ride with him.
“When I was sitting at the Oscars, it clicked in. As soon as I was like, ‘Oh snap, you hit Chris?’” she recalled. “I was like, I’m riding with you. I didn’t come into this place as your wife, but I’m leaving here as your wife because we got a storm we’re going to have to deal with together. I am not gonna leave your side.”
Despite telling NBC News that they haven’t “called each other husband and wife in a long time,” Jada says they’re still “life partners.” Appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, she clarified: “That’s still my man. That’s still my man.” She further referred to Will as her “dude” and “right hand” while describing them as “life partners.”
Jada has been discussing her relationship with Will Smith in various interviews while promoting her new memoir, Worthy. Will eventually responded to the various revelations over the weekend in an email to the New York Times. “When you’ve been with someone for more than half your life, a sort of emotional blindness sets in,” Smith wrote. “And you can all too easily lose your sensitivity to their hidden nuances and subtle beauties.” Be on the lookout for further updates on Will and Jada’s relationship on HotNewHipHop.
Will Smith and Jada Pinkett have been separated for seven years, apparently. The revelation emerged during Jada Pinkett’s press run in support of her upcoming memoir, Worthy. Speaking to Hoda Kotb, she confirmed that the two have been separated since 2016, although they never made their divorce official. Nonetheless, she said that they have the utmost love for each other and their children.
Of course, Jada Pinkett’s latest statements about her (estranged?) husband follow years of scrutiny surrounding their relationship. The couple made headlines when rumors of an open relationship surfaced. Then, there was the entanglement with August Alsina. In between that and the ongoing jokes involving her relationship with Tupac, it seemed to have all culminated in the infamous Oscars slap with Chris Rock, who allegedly tried to secure a date with Jada in the midst of divorce rumors. With the couple back in the headlines, we’re exploring their relationship since the couple first met in 1994.
Will and Jada met on the set of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air when Jada auditioned for a role on the show. Although she didn’t get the part, they formed a close friendship. It wasn’t until 1995 that they entertained the possibility of a relationship. Will was still married to his then-wife and mother to his firstborn son, Trey, Sheree Zampino, although their relationship was on the rocks.
“I had a realization I wasn’t with the person I was supposed to be with,” he said on a 2018 episode of Red Table Talk. “I was sitting in a [bathroom] stall and I was crying and laughing uncontrollably, and I knew [Jada] was the woman I was supposed to be with.”
After filing for divorce from Zampino, Jada and Will Smith took their relationship to new heights. The couple began dating, largely through Will’s efforts. Following his divorce, he asked Jada if she was “seeing anyone.” Once she said she wasn’t, Will said, “Cool, you’re seeing me now.”
Will reportedly popped the question while they were in bed together. However, it didn’t take long for the couple to get hitched. A month later, they tied the knot at a secret ceremony in a hotel room in Baltimore, Jada’s hometown.
In a 1998 interview, Jada Pinkett revealed that they had been expecting their first child a day after their wedding. The couple welcomed Jaden Cyre Smith in July 1998. In the years that followed, Jaden proved to have a knack for the big screen, just like his parents, and similar to his father pursued a career in hip-hop.
Two years after the birth of Jaden, Will and Jada welcomed Willow to their family in October 2000. She similarly made a name for herself in the music industry, as an actress and a musician. These days, she often co-hosts Red Table Talk with her mother, Jada while also pursuing a successful career in music.
While 13 years passed with little issues in their marriage, rumors of a shaky relationship began to surface in 2013. At that time, speculation surrounding an open marriage began to emerge. However, Jada denied this entirely during an appearance on HuffPost Live! but she said that she told Will he could “do whatever you want as long as you can look at yourself in the mirror and be OK.”
In a post shared on Facebook, she reiterated that they aren’t in an open marriage. “Will and I BOTH can do WHATEVER we want, because we TRUST each other to do so. This does NOT mean we have an open relationship…this means we have a GROWN one,” she said.
2015: Will & Jada Pinkett Deny Getting A Divorce
Two years later, the couple continued to face rumors of a divorce. Although we’d find on later on that there was some sort of validity to turmoil in their relationship, Will made it clear that a divorce wasn’t on the table. In a post shared to Facebook, he explained that he had received a number of messages from people sending their “deepest condolences,” so he decided to clear the air.
“So, in the interest of redundant, repetitious, over & over-again-ness… Jada and I are…NOT GETTING A DIVORCE!!!!!!!!!!!!! : -) I promise you all – if I ever decide to divorce my Queen – I SWEAR I’ll tell you myself! #Dumb People Should Have to Wear Scarlet D’s,” he wrote.
In Jada’s recent interview with Hoda Kobt, she explained that she and Will had been separated since 2016. However, the two continued to celebrate their marriage together in the public eye. In 2017, Will and Jada celebrated 20 years of marriage, which Will commemorated in a heartfelt Instagram post.
“20 Years Ago Today we held hands and walked naively down that aisle. Here’s what I’ve learned since,” he wrote. “Love is Like Gardening. I have learned to focus on HELPING you to BLOSSOM into what YOU want to be (into what you were born to be)… Rather than Demanding that you become what my Fragile Ego needs you to be.”
2018: No Longer “Married” But Life Partners
During an interview with Rap Radar, Will Smith provided more context to his relationship with Jada Pinkett. Although together for 20+ years, the rapper-turned-actor explained that they consider each other “life partners.”
“We don’t even say we’re married anymore. We refer to ourselves as life partners,” he told Rap Radar. “Where you get into that space where you realize you are literally with somebody for the rest of your life. There’s no deal breakers. There’s nothing she could do — ever. Nothing that would break our relationship. She has my support till death, you know what I mean, and it feels so good to get to that space where you’re not complaining, and worrying, and demanding that a person be a certain thing.”
Life partners aside, the world was shocked to find out that Jada Pinkett Smith had a self-described “entanglement” with August Alsina. Jada revealed that the couple had been separated in 2016 and during that period, she and Alsina developed a strong bond. In the midst of this revelation, fans began pointing out videos and clips of Alsina hanging out with the Smith family.
During an episode of Red Table Talk, Will explained that he felt that their marriage needed to be tested at that point. “I wasn’t sure I was ever going to speak to you again,” Will said. “Like the fact that I’m speaking to you again is a miracle. [Marriage] ain’t for the weak at heart. There’s just certain things that you have to go through. I wish it could be all magic and miracles.”
2021: Will Contextualizes The Entanglement
Even though the majority of people felt as though the “entanglement” was a one-sided affair, Will revealed that “that was not… in fact the case,” per Wesley Lowrey’s GQ profile on the actor. He didn’t necessarily dive any further on the topic but in his memoir, Will, he said, “For the large part of our relationship, monogamy was what we chose, not thinking of monogamy as the only relational perfection.” He also explained that their marriage wasn’t working.
Later that year, Will sat down with Oprah Winfrey where he explained that they hit a rough patch in their relationship in 2011. It stemmed from a birthday surprise that he supposedly spent “years planning,” which Jada felt was a “ridiculous” self-serving act that put his ego on display.
2022: The Infamous Oscars Slap
At the 2022 Oscars, Will Smith famously slapped Chris Rock in the face after the comedian cracked a joke comparing Jada to G.I. Jane, only to find out that she was suffering from alopecia. “Jada, I love ya. G.I. Jane 2, can’t wait to see ya,” Chris said before Will stormed the stage and struck the comedian in the face. After heading back to his seat, Will told Chris: “Keep my wife’s name out your f***ing mouth!”
Even though it was an act of support for his wife, Will faced the worst of repercussions. He won the award for Best Actor – the first Oscar in his illustrious career – for King Richard before the Academy barred him from attending the ceremony for 10 years. While Will later apologized, the damage had been done and Twitter continued to pile onto Jada Pinkett.
Through the ups and downs of their relationship in the years prior, Jada Pinkett Smith revealed that she and Will had been separated for roughly seven years. In her book Worthy, she dives further into the topic but the announcement first came during a preview of her sit down with Hoda Kotb. Although Jada said that it wasn’t a “divorce on paper,” the couple was “exhausted with trying.” However, she vowed never to get a divorce. “We will work through … whatever,” she explained. “I just haven’t been able to break that promise,”
In an interview with People, she added that she and Will are still working on their relationship. “We’ve been doing some really heavy-duty work together,” she told PEOPLE. “We just got deep love for each other and we are going to figure out what that looks like for us.”
Kanye West married his wife, Bianca Censori, for “religious reasons,” according to a source for Us Weekly. The marriage, which was originally thought to be ceremonial only, was confirmed to be legally binding, last week. The source notes that, “Kanye and Bianca were legally married last year when they had their private ceremony in Beverly Hills, it was real and legal.”
“Ye has been a megastar for two decades and counting, and his first marriage was to someone who lives almost full-time in front of a camera,” the insider further said. “Bianca and Ye have a totally different vibe. They are very private, very affectionate and totally devoted to each other. I think they both enjoy carving out time that’s just for them.”
As for how their marriage is going, a source recently told The Daily Mail that West has set a strict set of guidelines that Censori must follow. “Kanye has a set of rules for Bianca, which includes never speak and wear what he wants her to wear,” the source claimed. “She is also required to eat certain food items and to work out even though Kanye doesn’t work out.” The outlet also obtained documents showing that West and Censori married on December 20, 2022, using a “confidential marriage license.”
West has spoken out about his religious beliefs numerous times over the years. After the release of his ninth studio album, Jesus Is King, West reflected on his faith during an interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe. “Now that I’m in service to Christ, my job is to spread the Gospel, to let people know what Jesus has done for me,” he said at the time. That project saw West venture into more gospel music than his normal sound. Be on the lookout for further updates on Kanye West and Bianca Censori’s marriage on HotNewHipHop.
Recently, JT sparked some rumors that she might have secretly married her partner, Lil Uzi Vert. Fans began to think that the duo tied the knot after JT changed her name to Jatavia Woods on Instagram. Woods is Uzi’s last name, and of course, fans are speculating.
The two of them were first linked romantically in 2019, and after over a year of secrecy, became Instagram official in 2021. They’ve been an item ever since, aside from a minor spat that led to their short split last year. Obviously, it’s possible that JT simply changed her name as a sweet nod to their relationship, but fans are having fun with their theories regardless.
Though some fans think the duo could have taken things to the next level, it wasn’t too long ago that we saw them wrapped up in some drama. JT went back and forth with Uzi’s alleged “side chick” on social media back in July. The City Girls performer had a lot to say about a woman named Saudiah B. on Twitter, and Saudiah fired back. She denied ever being involved with Uzi, calling JT “delusional.” She further accused JT of “stalking” her, following her to malls, direct messaging her about the situation, and more.
JT has also been outspoken about her thoughts on relationships in the past. Most recently, she shared how she feels that dating someone just isn’t that serious. “Do men know that a ‘girlfriend’ not that deep,” she asked. “If you don’t like your ‘girlfriend’ you can leave, that’s not your wife OR mother of your kids. You owe her nothing. & vice versa if you don’t like your boyfriend leave his a*s & don’t feel bad or play with other ppl feelings.” What do you think of JT changing her name on Instagram? Do you think the duo could have secretly tied the knot, or are fans reading too far into it? Cher stands accused of hiring four men to kidnap her son, Elijah Blue Allman, from his New York hotel on the night of his wedding anniversary in November 2021. Allman’s estranged wife, Marie Angela King, outlined the allegations in a court declaration she filed on December 4, in the Los Angeles Superior Court. The report became public, only recently, amid the couple’s ongoing divorce.
“After spending these 12 days together in NY… four people came to our hotel room and removed [Allman] from our room,” King claimed. She further added that she was “told by one of the four men who took him that they were hired by [Allman’s] mother.”
From there, King admitted that she was worried about Allman’s safety. “I am currently unaware of my husband’s wellbeing or whereabouts,” King wrote at the time. “I am very concerned and worried about him.” She added: “Since August 2022, I have been told that I am not allowed to see or speak to [Allman] who is currently in lockdown at a treatment facility that is undisclosed to me. I am also told [Allman] has no access to his phone.” King concluded the filing: “I understand his family’s efforts to make sure he is well, and I want what is best for my husband.”
Allman is the son of Cher and her ex-husband, Gregg Allman. The two married just days after Cher’s split from Sonny Bono in 1975 and welcomed Allman in 1976. They called off the relationship three years later. Allman has been dealing with drug issues since his teenage years. Since the 2010s, he’s been in and out of sobriety. Allman and King married back in 2013 before filing for divorce in 2020. Be on the lookout for further updates on their relationship on HotNewHipHop.
Doja Cat is a celebrity who’s open about most things in the online space. Still, her relationships have always been kept more private. Earlier this year, paparazzi photos of the multi-talent smooching with a man on a yacht nearly broke the internet. Initially, fans were pleased to know that there’s a love in Doja’s life keeping her smiling, but when they found out his identity, things quickly turned in a more sour direction. The hostility is due to allegations surrounding J. Cyrus, who’s been accused of mistreating numerous young women.
Despite the backlash, Doja seems to be sticking by her man’s side, and even notably dropped some bars about marriage on her new album, Scarlet. “Kissin’ and hope they caught us / Whether they like or not / I wanna show you off / I wanna show you off,” she sings on “Agora Hills.” “I wanna brag about it/ I wanna tie the knot/ I wanna show you off,” her lyrics continue.
The catchy track’s music video also landed today (September 22), much to fan’s pleasure. “Take you ’round the world, they don’t have to understand / Rub it in their face, put a rock on her hand,” the fashionista croons later on in the same song.
On the following title, “Can’t Wait,” Doja’s sonic romantic themes continue. “I wouldn’t do this for no man / It’s an understatement if I tell you you’s important,” she rhymes in her signature flow. “I’m just tryna bring you drinks and assortments / Hot towels with a mocktail by the ocean / Top down with our ice shinin’ like a snowman / Cook you a crab boil that reminds you of New Orleans.”
Listeners Think She References J. Cyrus on “Can’t Wait”
Of course, the California native doesn’t actually mention her beau by name, but as HipHopDX points out, he hails from New Orleans, so her mention of the famous city seems awfully fitting. Do you think that Doja Cat’s Scarlet stands a chance at topping what she accomplished in 2021 with Planet Her? Ariana Grande and Dalton Gomez are officially filing for divorce. According to TMZ, both are simultaneously filing while citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split. Sources tell the outlet that the former couple previously agreed on details of the divorce and Grande plans to hand over a check to Gomez.
The news follows suit with a report from PEOPLE in July that noted Grande and Gomez were “taking their time together to slowly work through the details of the agreement privately.” A source further told the outlet: “They’ve been really caring and respectful of one another through every step of this process.”
News of Grande and Gomez’s divorce comes after the singer’s romance with her Wicked co-star Ethan Slater, earlier this year, became public. The two got together while Slater was still married to his high school classmate Lilly Jay, although they were reportedly already separated. The two married in 2018 and welcomed a child in January. A source for PEOPLE said of the affair: “They are doing their best to balance the fact that they are in the public eye with the desire to be respectful to all parties involved. They are just trying to navigate their new relationship in private.” In addition to that romance, Grande left her wedding ring behind while attending the Wimbledon 2023 Men’s Final back in July.
Before her marriage to Gomez, Grande was engaged to Pete Davidson, but they broke up after just five months together in October 2018. She also famously dated Mac Miller from 2016 through 2018. They separated just months prior to Miller’s fatal overdose.

During a recent performance at her Las Vegas residency, Adele revealed that the two may actually be married.
“You can’t marry me. I’m straight, my love, and my husband’s here tonight,” Adele said to an adoring fan.
