Young Thug & Mariah The Scientist Relationship Timeline

Young Thug is currently behind bars for the YSL RICO case, a circumstance that’s shrouded the phrase “cuffing season” in a dark cloud for him. But his flame Mariah The Scientist is dedicated and loving, even if their physical distance leaves a void impossible to fill. Still, many folks online have a lot of questions about their relationship. How and when did they get together, what’s their current status, and who on Earth decided to leak a video of their prison phone call?! As it turns out, this couple endured rough patches of past, long-lasting romances, a massive wrench into their time together, but currently stand with heads held high -– and holding on tight to each other’s hands.

November 2021: First Pics

Mariah The Scientist and Young Thug presumably began dating sometime around November 2021, when Young Stoner Life posted pictures on Instagram of them cozying up. Moreover, this came after December 2020 developments concerning Thugger’s ex-fiancée Jerrika Karlae, on and off since 2015, who then accused him of abuse. However, in an HNHH interview in August 2021, she stated that they were in a great place, so either Mariah popped up very soon after this or she spoke from more of a friendship standpoint. Regardless, Karlae seemed to respond indifferently to this new romance rumor with the R&B singer, indicating that it didn’t really bother her. Then, in late 2021 and early 2022 respectively, Thugger and The Scientist went on a date at an Atlanta Falcons game and appeared as a bride and groom in her music video for “Walked In,” further fueling the fire.

August 2022: Young Thug’s Arrest, Mariah The Scientist Makes It Official

Furthermore, things became more official in August 2022 after Young Thug’s arrest in May, and after he set up a loving balloon and gift set-up for Mariah The Scientist from behind bars, which she shared on social media. Again, Karlae didn’t bat an eye, and her comments on his prison stint indicate that she’s as supportive and caring as ever. Mariah popped out for Thugger’s birthday to return the favor, clapped back at people trying to cause beef between the three, and she and Thug thirsted for each other via some social media comments.

Aug.-Nov. 2023: “Baby Daddy” Rumors & New Releases

Things got even more set in stone when Mariah The Scientist declared the Atlanta trap sensation her “baby daddy” during a festival set in August of last year. We now know that “daddy” might just be a nickname, and not a pregnancy confirmation or anything like that. That aside, she continued to advocate for his freedom and double down on her support and their relationship, shedding light on what he’s going through while locked up. Young Thug appeared in the 26-year-old’s music video for “From A Woman,” and he released the companion single “From A Man.” The former appeared on her album To Be Eaten Alive in October 2023.

Meanwhile, coinciding with this release, Mariah The Scientist opened up more about their relationship and his incarceration. “It’s almost like jail solidified our relationship,” she expressed on Way Up With Angela Yee. “I’m willing to wait it out because I feel like he’s the one. If I didn’t really see that in him, I probably wouldn’t.” Apparently, they see themselves as a married couple soon after he is free, which is a wholesome goal to maintain amid strife.

January 2024: YSL RICO Trial & Pooh Shiesty Shade

In addition, Mariah also attended Young Thug’s trial on various days, and the two reportedly talk every day plus a weekly visit. One of these visits is the conversation that someone leaked online, which prompted a lot of backlash from regular social media users and superstars like Drake.

Folks also thought that Pooh Shiesty shaded them with a recent Instagram development in 2024, although he dismissed this interpretation. With all this in mind, all we can hope for is that they continue to support each other through this, whether it’s their careers, their personal lives, or their relationship. But what do you think about Young Thug and Mariah The Scientist’s connection now that you know the full story so far? Meek Mill Claims Young Thug Should Sue Over Leaked Jail Call

Earlier this week a surprising new story hit the internet. Young Thug’s trial has unfolded largely in the public eye but the access reached an even more surprising level. Thug’s girlfriend Mariah The Scientist has been right behind him for his entire trial ordeal. She’s repeatedly appeared in court alongside the rapper during throughout the trial. She’s also clearly been there for Thug behind the scenes which was revealed to the public recently.

Both audio and video from a jail phone call between Thug and Mariah leaked online. The clips weren’t particularly dramatic and didn’t exactly make waves online. Most of the attention directed towards the video came from fans explaining how uncomfortable it made them seeing such an invasion of privacy spread online. In the wake of the video being leaked, Meek Mill took to Twitter to share his thoughts on what Thugger should do next. “This is a top tier lawsuit your personal call not suppose to be on the street” his quote tweet read. While there hasn’t been any news of an actual lawsuit yet many fans online think there’s a credible case.

Meek Mill Thinks Young Thug Could File A Lawsuit

Recently, the YSL RICO trial has mainly been focused on the testimony of one of the labels co-founders. He’s discussed numerous subjects including the origins of the labels intentions and the names of some of the most involved parties. While discussing gang ties, Thug’s defense has taken an interesting approach to deflecting the prosecutions allegations. They’ve used clips of various celebrities like Snoop Dogg and LeBron James making gang gestures to refute the idea that gang affiliation can be implied through simply making gang signs.

Earlier this week, Meek Mill surprised fans by revealing what he charges for a feature. He claims that his verses come with a $250k price tag, something many found to be a bit steep. What do you think of Meek Mill’s take on Young Thug’s situation? Do you thing Thug could sue over his conversation with Mariah The Scientist being leaked online? Let us know in the comment section below.

Drake Questioned The Judge In The YSL RICO Case After Young Thug And Mariah The Scientist’s Jail Call Was Leaked

While the Young Thug trial took a break, the Atlanta rapper wound up trending for something else entirely last night. Late in the afternoon, a clip of a video call between Thug and his rumored girlfriend, Atlanta singer Mariah The Scientist, began circulating on Twitter (in case you’re new here, I refuse to call it “X”). While the content of the call was pretty wholesome, tame, and tender, it’s got one person specifically riled up.

Drake, who has been notable throughout his career for skirting issues of politics and current events, commented on a post about video on Instagram, then took a screenshot of his comment, posting it to his Instagram Story for the world to see. “This gotta be some form of jail misconduct,” he argued. “You gonna drag this talented man then not be able to control your employees using his personal business for their own gain?”

“Somebody benefitted from this video even existing and that’s shameful,” he explained. “Whole case is a wash. Just [free] the guy and let him come home and continue bringing light to Atlanta.”

Why Is Drake Upset About Young Thug’s Jail Call With Mariah The Scientist Leaking?

So, Drake has a point. While inmates can have their calls recorded on visitation day, the way the phone system is set up, the recordings go to a server within the jail which only specific jail employees have access to. I confirmed this with a family friend who installed and set up similar systems at other jails. Virtually the only way that gossip sites could have accessed this recording is for either a jail employee or the contractors who maintain the system (all employees of the state) to save and send the snippet, likely for money being paid by the gossip site.

This is almost definitely a misuse of that authority, which underlines the perception of corruption in the penal system that both rappers and cultural critics alike have been pointing out for years. Young Thug’s case is already under intense scrutiny due to its use of the rapper’s lyrics as evidence of violations of Georgia’s Racketeer Influenced And Corrupt Organizations (RICO) law, with observers questioning the state’s interpretation of Black music as documentary rather than literary.

Drake’s Story post included an addendum; calling the case “disgraceful,” he wondered, “Is this a criminal case or Atlanta social media promo, Ural Glanville?” Here, he alludes to the sentiment that the authorities involved in the case are merely using Thug’s status as a famous rapper to raise their own political profiles. While District Attorney Fani Willis is the one who prosecuted the case in the first place, Judge Glanville is the one who allowed the use of Thug’s lyrics as evidence. Notably, Willis is also prosecuting Donald Trump for his attempt to change the outcome of the 2020 presidential election — and not coincidentally, that case also alleges a “criminal racketeering enterprise.”

However, Thug’s case has devolved into what could ungenerously be described as a media circus. Earlier this week, prosecutors moved to make witness testimonies audio-only, and the proceedings have been interrupted numerous times. In one incident, the Zoom call allowing several participants to attend virtually was broken into by a fan yelling “Free Young Thug! Mistrial!” All of this has drawn more eyes to the case but sapped the court and District Attorney of credibility. With employees of the state also trying to enrich themselves inappropriately with footage of Thug and Mariah’s intimate moments, public sentiment toward the case has to be at an all-time low.

Whether or not Young Thug actually headed up a violent street gang is almost beside the point. It’s the prosecution’s job to find real evidence that he committed crimes, not to try to criminalize artistic expression. There’s a belief that Thug could do more to benefit his hometown using the fruits of that expression to give back — in Drake’s words, “bringing light to Atlanta” — than languishing in a cell for things he only rapped about. As it stands, it looks like the only people benefitting from Young Thug’s incarceration are corrupt officers of the state.

Mariah The Scientist Roasted For Calling Young Thug “Daddy” In Alleged Call Leak

Mariah The Scientist supports her boo Young Thug no matter what, and she’s been by his side throughout his whole YSL RICO case. However, against that backdrop, it seems like their most intimate moments leaked onto the Internet thanks to an alleged phone call that surfaced online. Moreover, some fans are particularly talking about this with no regard for that loss of privacy, instead choosing to make fun of the singer for calling Thugger “daddy” in this clip. Although it’s inevitable for people to make fun of stuff online, it’s disheartening that this became a principal narrative rather than a supplementary detail for much discussion.

One person that definitely doesn’t find it funny, though, is none other than Drake. “This gotta be some form of jail misconduct,” he commented under DJ Akademiks’ recent Instagram coverage of this alleged Young Thug and Mariah The Scientist leak, comments which he then reposted on his Instagram Story. “You gonna drag this talented man then not be able to control your employees using his personal business for their own gain? Somebody benefitted from this video even existing and that’s shameful. Whole case is a wash. Just 3 the guy and let him come home and continue bringing light to Atlanta. S**t is disgraceful… is this a criminal case or atlanta social media promo Ural Glanville?”

Mariah The Scientist Calls Young Thug “Daddy” In Alleged Phone Call Leak

Furthermore, some fans are asking accounts sharing this clip in full to take it down, so hopefully the embed we’re including pops away in due time. In the meantime, we’re sure that absolutely no one is happy about this alleged phone call leak, whether it’s Young Thug, his partner, or both sides the court. It makes us wonder who caused this and why, which is obviously a difficult question to narrow down. Regardless, we’re sure that this will not discourage Mariah The Scientist from advocating for Thugger’s freedom.

Meanwhile, they recently evaded a potential feud with Pooh Shiesty. He seemingly dissed them after an IG takedown, but then walked that back when he realized how fans interpreted it, or perhaps for another reason. Only time will tell, but these two unfortunately face a full plate of issues right now. Hopefully they resolve sooner rather than later. Young Thug And Mariah The Scientist Jail Phone Call Leaked Online

Much of the hip-hop community has been giving their sustained support to Young Thug since he was arrested in May of 2022 as part of the YSL RICO case. But arguably nobody has had his back more than his girlfriend of three years Mariah The Scientist. She’s continually appeared in court to support her rapper boyfriend during his long and complicated trial. She’s also been showing him quite a bit of support behind the scenes. Earlier this week though, one of those gestures was brought into the public light.

Surprisingly, a phone call between Thug and Mariah somehow made its way online. The leak isn’t just a recording of their conversation but also video of them having it. The conversation itself is about what you’d expect as the two catch up and discuss some recent gifts Thug bought for her. The unspectacular nature of the discussion makes the fact that it leaked and was spread around online even more surprising. Check out the clip for yourself below.

Young Thug Jail Phone Call Leaked

In the responses to the tweet sharing the video almost everyone expresses the same sentiment. “I don’t even feel right watching this. This feels like invasion of privacy fr” the top reply to the post reads. “Let Jeffrey and his ladies talk in peace. Y’all real nosey fr” and “This a couples private conversation Nothing funny about this” two other replies agree.

Recently the YSL RICO trial has been focused on one of the label’s co-founders. He’s spent numerous full days on the stand now providing some context to the foundational goal of YSL. Meanwhile, Thug’s defense has been using clips of various celebrities to support their own case. Clips of people like LeBron James, Serena Williams, and Snoop Dogg were used to prove that gang culture and gang signs don’t directly relate to gang affiliation. What do you think of Young Thug and Mariah The Scientist having their jail conversation leaked online? How do you think the leak made it to the internet? Let us know in the comment section below.
