She’s been beasting her way through Hip Hop, and fans believe Lola Brooke is next in line. If you’ve been tuned into TikTok, you would already know that the Brooklyn spitter’s “Don’t Play With It” featuring Billy B is already a viral success. Lola has been strategically edging her way into the spotlight with the help of her dedicated team. Her talents haven’t been ignored by her peers, and the praise has also rolled in. Brooke has even added a few bars to the updated version of Hitkidd’s favorite “Shabooya” and recently tore up the stage at SXSW.
As her star continues to shine, Lola Brooke may be chopping and screwing her “Don’t Play With It” hit. A clip of the pint-sized rapper filming a music video has made the rounds, and it looks as if she’s linked with Yung Miami and Latto. In the brief video, the ladies perform for cameras, surrounded by extras. Only the end of the City Girls rapper’s verse is heard, but Lola and Latto are nearby. Fans are excited about what the remix will bring.
Kim Kardashian and North West’s TikToks have been the talk of pop culture, and last year, they gave Lola Brooke and significant co-sign. Kim is seen trying to style North’s baby hair in a video. As she struggled, the pre-teen rapped along with Brooke’s “DPWI” track. We caught up with Lola in December and asked her what it was like to see the clip. The rapper admitted that she was stunned when she first found out and had difficulty saying anything.
“I was around people when I first found out, I had just left the venue. I did a hosting in New Jersey. And my fans were tagging me, and I watched it, and I remember sitting in the car with everybody talking to me, but I couldn’t hear them. I just was zoned out,” Lola said. “And they was like, “Yo what’s up with you? You not excited?” I kept saying, I wish I was home so that I could have this moment to myself in my head because I was going crazy.” Initially, she thought it was fake and someone was playing a joke. After a string of buzzy singles, including “Shake The Room” and “Don’t Play With It,” Lola Brooke has another heater on her hands. On her newest single, “So Disrespectful,” Brooke displays fiery rap chops, spitting rhymes over a scorching beat.
“Skin them vessels / Sendin’ out many, don’t that depress you / Oh my God, I’m so disrespеctful / I ain’t never gеt f*cked, but I get f*cked,” she says, reminding everyone that nothing can break her current reign.
In the song’s video, Brooke is seen front and center of a group of New Yorkers, reminding us that her city has her back.
In an interview with Consequence, Brooke revealed how the song came together, and how it felt natural after hearing the beat in the studio.
“The beat was knocking, so I just went and start punching in on the mic,” Brooke said. “I’ll just start doing punches. How the hook came, honestly, I think it was like a full 16 maybe, or something like that. I just was going and then I went into my verse and I picked out a hook. Put it there, came back into it. I just have fun, I just didn’t think too much about it. I was just being myself.”

The new single is produced by Reefa Music and Gyard, bringing that spark of Lola to tackle the hard-hitting track, warning friends, fans, and foes. It’s Gator Season.
