Rihanna Reflects On Some Of Her More NSFW Fashion Choices Over The Years

There’s no denying that Rihanna has been a style icon for decades. Long before she was more directly involved through her own brands. she was still seen as an influencer and innovator in the fashion space. Earlier this week she was in attendance for the launch of a new collaboration between Fenty and Puma. The collaboration focuses largely on shoes with a multitude of earth tone color variants, but while there RiRi was willing to talk all things fashion.

In an interview with Vogue. Rihanna discussed some of her most evocative outfit. She opened up on how growing older and becoming a mother has changed her presentation style. “I’ve done so much sh*t in my life. I’ve had my nipples out, my panties out. But now, those are the things which, I guess as a mom and an evolved young lady — emphasis on ‘young’ — there are things I feel like I would never do. Like, ‘Oh my God, I really did that? Nips out?’” she says in the interview. In other portions of the interview she discussed other notable fashion moments, like her famous Guo Peng dress from the 2015 Met Gala. Check out the full interview below.

Rihanna Talks To Vogue About Her Fashion History

Rihanna also spoke about new music while at the event, just not her own. Fans have been awaiting new material from the pop star for years now as her last project Anti dropped all the way back in 2016. But when she discussed new music she was actually talking about A$AP Rocky, for whom it’s also been quite a while since he dropped new material. She confirmed to fans that he is, in fact, hard at work on a new album. She didn’t say anything about when it may actually be released though.

What do you think about Rihanna’s self-reflection on how her own style has changed over the years? Do you have a particular favorite look from RiRi’s two decades in the spotlight? Let us know in the comment section below.

J. Cole’s Dreamer Indie 5000 Sneakers — Everything We Know About Them So Far

Cole Shoe
Uproxx/Might Delete Later/Getty

To those mourning the end of J. Cole’s partnership with Puma and the RS-Dreamer, will be happy to know that Cole is readying a follow-up. The rapper/producer won’t be dropping the new shoe with Puma though, and those hoping for a Nike team-up will have to keep wishing because from what we can tell so far, it looks like Cole is going independent with this one.

Cole’s teased the new low-top sneaker via Vol. 2 of his Might Delete Later vlog (buried about halfway through the video, which is essentially a teaser for his upcoming album The Fall Off) where he can be seen rocking the new kicks in an indoor court while he sinks buckets.

The new sneaker, dubbed the Dreamer Indie 5000s, is just a prototype as of now according to Cole, who can be heard rapping, “This shit I designed with Italians, call them the Indie 5000s,” and feature a low-top 90s-esque b-ball design with a zig-zag overlay. Like the RS-Dreamer, the Dreamer Indie 500 conveys motion in its design. Overall, I think it’s a major improvement, but I know the RS-Dreamer has plenty of die-hard fans who might not agree.

Eagle-eyed Cole fans will recognize this design as Cole has been teasing them in public appearances and even appeared on a special cover of NBA 2K23 wearing a pair. As of now release information is not available but given the fact that the shoe got a special section in Vol. 2 of Might Delete Later, we’re assuming these will be released around or along with The Fall Off’s drop.

We’ll update you as soon as we know more, for now take a closer look at the prototype with these images collected by Nice Kicks.

Rihanna’s 2014 IG Post That Put PUMA Shoe Design In Public Domain, Denied Trademark Protection

There are not too many more iconic pairings in the music and fashion world than Rihanna and PUMA. They have been together for just about a decade now, which is kind of crazy to think it has not been longer. The multicultural multi-hyphenate has done a lot for the athletic wear and shoe brand over the years. However, that is not to say that it has all gone smoothly, even though nothing really does. According to HipHopDX, PUMA is still having no luck getting a trademark approved with the European Union’s Intellectual Property Office.

This all began on signing day for the R&B legend, which was in late 2014. Rihanna posted that she was inking her deal to become PUMA’s creative director on her Instagram with the caption, “on the dotted line. #PUMA” However, she made one crucial mistake by including her shoes in the photo. That put the unreleased show with the original ethos out into the public domain one year prior to the registration being filed in 2016. Essentially, she disclosed the design, leaving it open to be taken up by someone else, rendering a patent useless.

This Now The Second Time PUMA Tried To Correct Rihanna’s Mishap

Dutch shoe wholesaler J.H. van Hilst won the case in 2016, but PUMA was adamant to get the original ruling overturned. Unfortunately, it was shot down once again. The argument against PUMA was that because of Rihanna’s status, many people could have taken interest in her clothing. The one silver lining in this is that this only pertains to Europe, not the United States.

What are your thoughts on PUMA’s patent getting denied again after Rihanna shared a shoe design back in 2014? Are you surprised or not that she is still working with the brand even after that mistake? Do you think PUMA should give up on trying to fix this, why or why not? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding PUMA and Rihanna. Finally, stay with us for everything else going on around the worlds of music and streetwear.

Rihanna’s Only Expectation Going Into Motherhood Was Passing On One Of Her Most Distinct Physical Features

From her Fenty empire to her fashion deals and, of course, her chart-topping music, “Umbrella” singer Rihanna is known for many things. But the title she holds above all is mother. Rumors have begun to circulate that she and beaux Asap Rocky are working on expanding their family, but the couple has two confirmed children as of today.

Yesterday (December 18), before the Fenty x Puma Creeper Phatty launch party in Los Angeles, California, Rihanna opened up about her journey through motherhood so far. While chatting with Access Hollywood (around the 1:30 mark), she confessed that she let go of all expectations going into it but was seemingly looking forward to passing on her distinctive forehead to her children.

“You don’t have an idea [when you picture your future family]. I hoped that I could have kids one day. And I hoped that I could have them in love. I hoped I could be a part of a family that breaks generational curses… it’s happening, and I can’t believe it,” said Rihanna.

She continued injecting some humor into the conversation. “The only thing I imagined was probably the forehead on RZA,” said Rihanna, referring to her oldest son.

Riot doesn’t have it. I’m like, wait, are you sure? You can’t lose this thing,” giggled the singer.

Trophy Hunting and PUMA Unveil Collaborative Capsule Collection Redefining American Sportswear

Co-designed by Trophy Hunting’s Kari Cruz and Dustin Canalin, the collection merges historically exclusive sport aesthetics with forward-thinking design, celebrating personal style.

TrophyHuntingxPUMA footwear trio

Inspired by personal experiences with uniforms, the collection features Blackwatch plaid, a Trophy Hunting signature, in a mesh performance skirt, biker shorts, and leggings, along with a standout PUMA x Trophy Hunting Varsity Jacket. “As a Dominican-American, NYC raised woman, my creative work often pulls from my roots and upbringing in The Bronx. For over a decade I have worked extensively on men’s streetwear and basketball brands- and there’s always been an erasure of women’s design and creative contributions. This collection is an extremely personal and intentional effort to show that we’ve always existed in these spaces and won’t be written out of the story. It’s my love letter to the girls ‘from around the way’ who won’t be excluded from the rooms they’re not typically invited into.”- Kari Cruz, Trophy Hunting

Gold jewelry influences the trims and hardware, nodding to the Bronx neighborhood where Cruz grew up. Prices range from $96.00 to $196.00, and the collection is available at AlwaysTrophyHunting.com and the Puma NYC Flagship Store.
