Lloyd Banks Announces A New Album Set To Drop Next Friday

Lloyd Banks is ready to drop an album next week. Banks is no stranger the limelight. He has been in the industry for the past two decades. Moreover, the Queens native initially came to prominence as a member of G-Unit. The 40-year-old was an original founder of the stable along with friends 50 Cent and Tony Yayo. Subsequently, G-Unit would blow up to become one of the best-selling groups in history. Additionally, Banks would break out to form his own solo career. However, he has never quite found the same success as his bandmate 50 Cent.

Banks took to Twitter to announce that his latest project will be released next Friday. Moreover, the album is titled The Course Of The Inevitable III: Pieces Of My Pain. Banks’ solo career has been a bit of a mixed bag. 50 Cent experienced worldwide acclaim with his solo album in 2004. Additionally, Banks decided to follow in 50’s footsteps. Bank’s initial solo work showed a lot of promise. He released The Hunger for More in 2005. The album featured the single track “On Fire.” Subsequently, the song became a hit and peaked at number eight on the Billboard charts. Meanwhile, Banks’ other singles on the album, “I’m so Fly” and “Karma” both received considerable airplay.

Lloyd Banks Hopes To Recapture Singles Success

It appeared that Banks was gearing up for a successful singles run just like 50. However, subsequent projects would not receive the same attention and Banks’ solo career would fall off hard. Additionally, in-fighting led to dissension in the G-Unit Camp. Moreover, the group would officially call it quits in 2008. Several attempts have been made to revive the G-Unit brand over the years. But it is unlikely that name will ever ascend to the heights it once held. Despite not having much commercial success, Bank’s last few projects have been hits with fans. Indeed, the rapper will likely see his latest effort as a chance to get back into the mainstream.

Elsewhere, other G-Unit alumni have also been capturing attention. 50 Cent has continued entertaining fans and offending others with his abrasive public persona. Moreover, Tony Yayo has been in the news for the “You Can’t See Me” dance he created. The gesture was brought back to the forefront following an exchange between LSU star Angel Reese and Iowa’s Caitlin Clark in the women’s basketball National Championship game. We will see if Banks can keep the momentum going with his latest work.

Lloyd Banks Is Living Life In “Movie Scenes” On His New Single

After impressing us with everything he’s delivered so far this year, Lloyd Banks markedly continues to set the tone for a strong 2023 with his latest single, “Movie Scenes.” The solo effort follows early January’s link-up with RJ Payne on “BANKS MEETS PAYNE,” as well as last weekend’s “101 Razors” with legendary lyricist Method Man, which listeners have been loving. This New Music Friday (March 31), the 40-year-old teamed up with producer George Getson to drop off one of the most undeniably impressive songs we’ve heard in a minute.

“Karma’s comin’ in, no more drama / I’m a motherf*ckin’ big-timer / Flowers, handed to me by the hour / Honour, got me money and the power (My n*gga),” he chiefly boasts on the track’s infectious chorus. “China, Faux-Filet Mignon and lobster / Designer, 580 my recliner / Karma’s comin’ in, no more drama / I’m a motherf*ckin’ big timer (Uh).” As Rap Radar notes, “Movie Scenes” marks the second single from Banks’ forthcoming project, The Course of the Inevitable 3: Pieces Of My Pain, which he announced earlier this month, much to audience’s delight.

Lloyd Banks Continues His Hot Streak with “Movie Scenes”

The album follows last July’s highly favoured The Course of the Inevitable 2, on which Banks connected with collaborators like Tony Yayo, Benny The Butcher, Vado, and Dave East. Of the 14 tracks included on that project, a few of the most popular titles include “Menace” featuring Conway the Machine as well as a solo effort called “Fell In Love.” Aside from Method Man, fans are eager to hear who the Maryland native will work with on the upcoming TCOTI 3.

Stream Lloyd Banks’ new “Movie Scenes” single on YouTube above, or find it on Spotify/Apple Music. Afterward, tell us your thoughts on the single in the comments. For more release recommendations, check back on Saturday (March 30) for our weekly Fire Emoi playlist update.

Quotable Lyrics:

You lose her for the evening, she gon’ do somethin’ indecent
Dog, you said you were a demon? The f*ck, you in the precinct
Throw these n*ggas in the deep and there’ll be inflammation leakin’
Kill the streets and leave ’em bleedin’, I’m out committin’ treason

Lloyd Banks Announces “The Course Of The Inevitable 3: Pieces Of My Pain”

Though he’s not attached to G-Unit, Lloyd Banks proved that the PLK title still sticks with Course Of The Inevitable. The 2021 album marked his first studio album in 11 years and fans never forgot about him in that time. The project boasted appearances from lyrical mainstays – Freddie Gibbs, Benny The Butcher, Styles P and Roc Marciano. The collaborators, both new and old, helped Banks as he showcased that he solidified his place in rap history.

The following year, Lloyd Banks returned with the sequel, Course Of The Inevitable 2. Once again, he locked in with fierce lyricists who only forced him to step his game up. Benny appeared, again, along with Conway The Machine, Jadakiss, Dave East, Vado, and Tony Yayo. The second installment in the Course Of The Inevitable series confirmed Lloyd Banks wasn’t about to head out on another 10+ year hiatus. But, even as fans continue to stream COTI 2 heavily, Banks still has more in store for his dedicated fanbase.

Lloyd Banks Announces New Album

On Friday, March 17th, Lloyd Banks confirmed that COTI is a trilogy. He shared a trailer for his forthcoming project, Course Of The Inevitable 3: Pieces Of My Pain on his Instagram page. The dramatic black-and-white teaser features a voiceover from Brandon Chastang, who provides a passionate motivational speech that speaks directly to the core of Banks’ latest project. “When you look in the mirror, you are alone. No friends, no family. Just you,” he says.

As Chastang continues to speak about the inner battle that people face as eerie production from Cartune Beatz plays in the background. “Stay the course, no matter how long it takes,” Chastang adds. “Through the ups and downs, embrace pain. Embrace the fear of the unknown. Everything you go through is a lesson. It’s never a loss.” Lloyd Banks didn’t announce a release date for COTI 3, though he provided fans the option to device when it should drop. Perhaps, we’ll see it arrive sometime this summer. Check the trailer above. Who do you want to see Lloyd Banks collaborate with on Course Of The Inevitable 3: Pieces Of My Pain? Let us know in the comment section below.

Tony Yayo: Lloyd Banks Is A Mix Of Biggie’s Bars & Tupac’s Work Ethic

Lloyd Banks remains one of the fiercest lyricists to emerge out of the East Coast. Though he never became a mainstream success in the same way as 50 Cent, he never held back whenever he stepped in the booth with his G-Unit peers. Unfortunately, his relationship with Fif deteriorated over time and it took a minute for him to return to the spotlight. In recent years, he’s dished out collaborations alongside members of Griselda and dropped off two of his own projects, firmly reminding the masses that he still holds the title of the Punch Line King.

Despite his distance from 50 Cent, his relationship with other members of the G-Unit camp isn’t as fractured. Tony Yayo, for instance, recently tapped Banks for his latest project, The Loyal. Banks shows out on the project for the record, “Rocket Chamber,” which dropped as a single. The two clearly haven’t lost their chemistry in the booth and brought forth an excellent collab that hopefully leads to more music from the G-Unit rappers in the future.

Tony Yayo Compares Lloyd Banks To The GOATs

Lloyd Banks might not occupy the spotlight but he never disappoints when he steps in front of the mic. Tony Yayo recently sat down with DJ Vlad who, despite his differences with Banks, had nothing but praise for the Rotten Apple MC’s contributions to The Loyal. “Banks is a show-and-prove type of guy,” Yayo explained to Vlad. In terms of his reclusive nature, Yayo described his collaborator as an “anti-industry” individual who is far more focused on the music than the business-side of things.

Though he might be quiet for the most part, Yayo explained that Banks has no shortage of music sitting in his vault. “I go to the studio, he’ll play me 100 records,” he explained before comparing Banks to both Biggie and ‘Pac. “It’s like his bars are something like Biggie but he writes like Tupac. I never met a guy like that besides [Eminem].” It seems as though there could be more music from Yayo and Banks soon as the former said he has another project coming out shortly.

RJ Payne Taps Lloyd Banks For New Single, “BANKS MEETS PAYNE”

RJ Payne is undeniably one of the most consistent names in the underground hip-hop scene. His work ethic combines with his lethal bars to make him one of the most respected emcees in the game.

On Friday (January 6), he returned to drop off his newest single, “BANKS MEETS PAYNE” featuring none other than G-Unit rapper, Lloyd Banks.

On the new link-up, the two rappers do what they’re both best known for; spit relentless bars. The “BULLETS AND BROKEN GLASS” rapper kicks the track off by immediately asserting his presence and dominance. After declaring that everybody else in the rap game is dead, he gets right to it.

“We did a lot more than heat up the game / I feel we flammable / Empty the clip like, ‘keep the change, you filthy animal’ / They built a cannibal, tell the killers, ‘come chill with Hannibal,” Payne raps explicitly. The murderous bars and horror movie inspiration are characteristics evidently riddled throughout the rest of his discography.

Banks fits right in over the haunting production, subsequently spitting a verse reminiscent of his prime days. “Ripped out my patient coat, a few screws loose / I’m a schizo rappin’, no compassion,” spits the “Beamer, Benz, Or Bentley” rapper during his verse.

The fiery new song represents the duo’s first time officially teaming up on a track, but we certainly hope it will happen again soon.

One of Payne’s most successful songs to date follows a similar format. It’s 2020’s “Butcher Meets Leatherface,” which finds him squaring off with Benny The Butcher.

Last year alone, the Brooklyn native dropped three projects. The first of which, BEAUTIFUL PAYNE 4, arrived in January. The seventh instalment of his notorious IF COCAINE COULD TALK series came in March, followed by the seven-track BLOOD ON MY CHAINSAW in April. Furthermore, the original mixtape in his aforementioned ICCT series came to streaming services before the year’s end.

Make sure to stream RJ Payne and Lloyd Banks’ “BANKS MEETS PAYNE” on Spotify down below. Comment your thoughts on the track afterwards. Finally, stay tuned to HNHH for all of the latest music releases and news.

Quotable Lyrics:

These rappers hatin’, I ain’t movin’ an inch
Stupid decision, shootin’ stars, superhuman event
Cocaina, they think a n*gga come from Cuban descent
Itchy trigger finger, don’t make me shoot at you in defense
