Lil Uzi Vert Shouts Out Playboi Carti, Rocks Colored Contacts & Spiky Hair At Rolling Loud L.A.

Lil Uzi Vert just shouted out Playboi Carti in a teased track performed during their Rolling Loud L.A. set with a new look, which could appear on the rapper’s upcoming Pink Tape. Moreover, Uzi opened their set with plenty of new material, donning spiky hair and colored contacts rendering them bright brown on one eye and crystal blue on the other. In the track, they rap “Shout out to Carti, we don’t talk hardly, but that’s where my heart be.” While he wasn’t the only artist Uzi referenced in their new material, it caught the ears of many due to their storied history.

Moreover, Uzi and Carti are somewhat of artistic kindred spirits, working in similar genres around similar times. Of course, since their careers started, both rappers took things in different stylistic directions. However, collabs of theirs like “wokeuplikethis*” and “Shoota” are still beloved rap classics. Their road as friends was rocky to be sure, but they moved on despite apparently not communicating often. Also, many reacted strongly to both this tease and to Uzi’s overall look, which just continues to cement his ability to make stories out of eccentric fits and styles.

Lil Uzi Vert’s New Look At Rolling Loud

What’s more is that Carti previewed new music of his own during the California festival as well. Still, Pink Tape‘s been teas by Uzi time and time again. However, they at least gave fans the RED & WHITE EP last year to hold them over in the meantime. In fact, Uzi reportedly has over 700 songs recorded for the project. Generation Now’s Don Cannon praised their work ethic and said the album will feature no guest appearances.

I do make y’all wait a long time for music and I’m so sorry,” Uzi said during their set. “I thought that s**t was cool before but that shit is lame,” he admitted. “I’m putting the final touches on Pink Tape and I promise. I made a lot of promises in my life, but this time I promise.” Check out reactions to the set below and return to HNHH for updates on Lil Uzi Vert and Playboi Carti.

Lil Uzi Vert’s Forehead Diamond Is Gone

Lil Uzi Vert made headlines everywhere when a $24M diamond was implanted in his forehead. Created by popular jeweler Eliantte & Co, the diamond was a rose pink and shaped like an oval. It was right in the middle of his forehead and very eye catching – or distracting. Uzi already has several face tattoos but, this addition takes the art up several notches.

We often see rappers making extravagant purchases but this was in league of its own. And, considering this is Lil Uzi Vert, it lines up well with his vibrant personality. Uzi has often worn extravagant outfits and done even more extravagant things to his hair. He is an excellent example of self expression and confidence. Many people commend him for truly being himself in every way possible. But sometimes, self-expression can have consequences. Like all decisions, they have a cause-and-effect clause and some effects are more impactful than others. Uzi spent a ton of money on his facial diamond, but if you’ve seen any recent videos or pictures of the Philly rapper, you may notice he no longer has it.

Lil Uzi Vert got his diamond implant in February 2021 and by July 2021 it was gone. And apparently, it was not removed voluntarily. It was taken from Uzi during a performance at Rolling Loud Miami. Uzi fans are often as energetic and over the top as he is. Moshpits are common and encouraged at his shows. Uzi has called himself a rockstar multiple times too. Organized chaos is something that’s right up his alley. It’s not surprising someone would attempt to remove it by force. Uzi entered a sea of his fans and this did not end well for him.

Rappers turning up with their fans is a mixed bag situation every time. Some fans can be over eager and sometimes this can get truly out of hand. Sometimes a fan hopes they will get close enough to the artist to do something truly over the top. This is what happened with Lil Uzi Vert. Amongst the excitement, one fan pulled the diamond right out of his forehead.

Lil Uzi Vert’s Diamond Almost Ruined his Life Insurance

Rappers deal with some of the trials of life we go through – at a higher level. Life insurance is something we should all have but we don’t always think about it. Rappers usually have multiple streams of income and spend money as they make it. They also must pay for things like studio time, features and other matters that are in the rap world. But, they also have bills to pay and have to consider things all adults consider.

They have a different lifestyle than most but some things are just mostly unavoidable. Life insurance is one of those things. Lil Uzi Vert was not thinking about it at all when he got his implant. He was surprised that his insurance company contacted him. “I never even thought about my insurance company, like my life insurance. I just started living life…” He said once he heard from them. He was worried his coverage would end.

Lil Uzi Vert decided not to have the diamond re-implanted. Naturally, getting it in the first place was a very long process. He started paying for it in 2017 and did not get it until 2021. For some people, this sounds like an investment. At the end of the day, Uzi had a goal and he carried it out. It ultimately resulted in a loss for him but also a life lesson.

Uzi has stated that he does still have the diamond. Considering all that it has been through, Uzi may be able to make his money back twice over if he sells the diamond. At the same time, he may not even consider selling it for the same reason. The memory of the entire ordeal will be in his mind forever. But, I don’t think any fans will be forgetting about it any time soon either. They will be able to move past it but they’ll always remember it.

Twitter users were quick to compare Uzi’s loss to a pivotal moment from Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War. In it, a character named Thanos rips a powerful stone from the forehead of another character named Vision. Memes of this moment were already circulating before the “Just Wanna Rock” rapper even lost the diamond. Naturally, they spiked in popularity once the truth came out. Some might call this a situation where manifestation did not bring positive results. Meanwhile, in some recent pictures, a septum-like piercing has replaced the diamond. Since Uzi has moved past the ordeal and is doing fine, the jokes can fly without guilt.

Lil Uzi Vert Crowned A “Rockstar” By Eagles Player A.J. Brown

Lil Uzi Vert is a “rockstar” according to Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown. Moreover, the player recently spoke on the Raw Room podcast about the time they walked the team out for their NFC Championship Game this year. While many probably remember the Eagles beating the Chiefs and advancing to the Super Bowl, they probably remember their eventual loss at the big game a bit more strongly. Still, Brown recounted the short but comical interaction the two had in the locker room before their championship victory. From what Brown said, Uzi’s not one for watercolor talk.

That’s a funny dude,” the NFL star said of the Philly rapper. “He cool though. He a funny guy, man. I met him. I’m in the training room right before the game and Uzi come in there, ‘What’s up, A.J.?’ I’m like, ‘What’s up, Uzi?’ He was like, ‘Nothing, I just woke up.’ I’m like, ‘What? Oh word, I heard you been in Paris.’ He was like, ‘I just came from out there, you going out there anytime soon? I’m like, ‘Probably after the season.’ I’m just trying to create convo. He really just cut the whole end of the conversation, he went like, ‘Well, good talking to you, A.J.’ and walked out. He walking through the walking room and he like this tall.”

A.J. Brown Calls Uzi A “Rockstar”

Furthermore, Brown defended the “Sauce It Up” artist’s energy above all. “He got the players turned up though, he cool though. He’s a rockstar, he get the city turnt.” Their hit track “Just Wanna Rock” is recognized as a new Philly anthem, especially for the Eagles. However, many recently debated over whether it overtook Meek Mill’s “Dreams and Nightmares” as the new song of the city. Moreover, DJ Drama sparked that debate when he proclaimed his Generation Now artist to have bested Meek’s previous iconic track.

Still, Uzi didn’t agree with one surpassing the other, and if so, they said it’s not their track. “I don’t think so,” he responded to Revolt TV‘s inquiry. “That song like been around for a very long time, and that song is still hitting exactly the same way. I’m just gonna have to see, you know, in a couple of years or a decade or whatever. [Meek]’s a big Homie from Philly, and that’s like one of my big homies. So I just like feed off the energy that he gives actually to be able to even produce or put out that type of music. So like, hopefully, like s**t, hopefully. [Meek] would hope that for me too. Not yet though, it’s too early to tell.” Regardless of your take on that, come back to HNHH for the latest news and updates on Lil Uzi Vert.

Blue Ivy Poses With Lil Uzi Vert

Blue Ivy Carter just posed with Lil Uzi Vert at this year’s Super Bowl, which was a wild crossover to see. Of course, it’s not the first time that the “Sauce It Up” star snapped some pictures with the Roc Nation family. Moreover, they appeared at the Roc Nation Brunch last week before the 65th Grammy Awards, rocking a slicked-back hairstyle. By the time they took the Grammys stage to perform “Just Wanna Rock,” however, they returned to their spiky look. Still, it was wholesome to see Uzi hang with Hov and Blue, especially given their home city’s team lost further into the night.

Still, even Jay got in for some pictures, a sight that many old-heads back in 2016 would’ve gagged at. Furthermore, it just goes to show the 27-year-old’s incredible career trajectory and consistently upward trajectory. For example, it hasn’t even been five months since “Just Wanna Rock” dropped and it’s already hailed as a classic. DJ Drama recently said that it’s the new anthem of Philadelphia, overtaking Meek Mill’s iconic “Dreams and Nightmares (Intro).” However, the Eternal Atake MC hesitated to make any calls or disrespect Meek like that.

I don’t think so,” they expressed humbly. “That song like been around for a very long time, and that song is still hitting exactly the same way. I’m just gonna have to see, you know, in a couple of years or a decade or whatever. [Meek] that’s a big Homie from Philly, and that’s like one of my big homies. So I just like feed off the energy that he gives actually to be able to even produce or put out that type of music. So like, hopefully, like s**t, hopefully. He [Meek] would hope that for me too. Not yet though it’s too early to tell.”

Moreover, the “Going Bad” rapper had thoughts of his own. “Intro been lighting the world for 10 years!” he claimed via Twitter. “Like shaking rooms for years!” Later, he suggested that the Eagles come out to Uzi, and play him if they win. Meanwhile, Blue Ivy’s probably looking forward to more performances like her guest spot during Beyoncé’s Dubai show. Whether she’s got another show coming, stick around on HNHH for the latest on Uzi, Blue Ivy, and their entourage.

Lil Uzi Vert, Beyoncé & Many More Amaze At Roc Nation Brunch

The Roc Nation Brunch on Saturday (February 4) hosted many of the most notable names in the music industry today. Moreover, some in attendance were of course Beyoncé and Jay-Z, but also Miguel, Lil Kim, and Tems. While everybody dressed to impress as they celebrated before the Grammys, people had their favorites online. In particular, a lot of people showed love to Reginae Carter. “Reginaeeee went to her secret weapon side of the closet lol she looks good,” one user commented. “Reginae ATE ERBODY UP!!!” another affirmed. However, one of the most eye-catching arrivals during the whole event was Lil Uzi Vert and their… peculiar hair.

Furthermore, the Philly artist rocked slicked-back hair, with small little wings coming out near their ears. People might be divided on the look, but they actually predicted such fashion on their Pharell collab from Luv Is Rage 2, “Neon Guts.” “Slick my hair back like I’m Chico DeBarge,” they rapped on the track. Still, despite their vision and clearly unique style, some people weren’t feeling it. Or, at least, they found it too peculiar to not crack a few jokes at. “Uzi got the Vampire In Brooklyn joint,” someone wrote on Twitter. “Lil Uzi hair got me crying real tears,” another added, while others made note of their crazy evolution. “This is NOT the same n***a that made LIR2,” a fan wrote.

“I always had a vision for my style,” they told GQ way back in 2018. “But before, I didn’t really get it. Even when I got money, my style wasn’t all the way there yet. But with traveling the world and seeing different stuff, I get it now.” While their comments certainly hold up, it’s insane to think how much their style has changed over the years.

PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA- SEPTEMBER 03. The two-day music festival created by Hip-Hop Artist Jay-Z brings together many popular genres of music to the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
Other cities have music events like Coachella or SXSW, but no music festival has the All-Star backing of a Hip-Hop icon or the musical talent like Made In America does. For a decade, the festival has brought many popular musical acts and up-and-coming artists or bands. This year is no exception. AL DIA gives you front row coverage of the music and its fans.

Meanwhile, other celebrity attendees at the Roc Nation Brunch included James Blake, Benny the Butcher, and many more. However, even with all the celebrities there, one Instagram user pointed out there seems to be something missing in the pictures… food. “I’ve never seen food at the Roc Nation brunch,” they wrote with a laughing emoji. “Where are the cheese grits?! Chicken and waffles…All I see is alcohol and outfits from Zenon Girl of the 21st Century and Uzi dressed like the Duke of No Hastings.” Still, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest on Roc Nation, the upcoming 2023 Grammys, and whether these stars get fed. Meek Mill Responds To DJ Drama’s “Just Wanna Rock” Praise Over “Dreams And Nightmares”

DJ Drama started a huge debate recently after he said Lil Uzi Vert’s “Just Wanna Rock” is Philly’s new anthem, overtaking the intro to Dreams and Nightmares by Meek Mill. While both tracks are undeniably iconic, the choice is tough given that Meek’s intro’s been around for over a decade. In fact, he took to Twitter to defend his longstanding banger, citing its longevity and acclaim. “Intro been lighting the world for 10 years!” he tweeted yesterday (February 2) after Drama’s take spread. “Like shaking rooms for years!”

Furthermore, the Gangsta Grillz legend said that Uzi’s newest hit is the new dominant track in Philly, especially after they walked the Eagles out to their Super Bowl-affirming game last Monday (January 30). Moreover, TMZ spoke to Drama shortly after the victory. “I think it’s fair to say that ‘Just Wanna Rock’ has replaced — with all due respect — ‘Dreams and Nightmares’ as the new anthem of Philadelphia,” Drama stated. “As the new anthem of the Philadelphia Eagles this year, I’m looking forward to hearing that song many, many times [during] Super Bowl weekend.”

Of course, the DJ’s words caused many to weigh in on the match-up. While ‘Just Wanna Rock’ is currently one of the biggest songs in the world, many blasted Drama for his take. For example, one fan wrote “Biggest difference is Meek Mill got an ANTHEM and Lil uzi is a hot SONG.” Another commented “That don’t sound like Philly music,” which even people from outside the city seem to agree with. “I’m not even from Philly…Dreams and Nightmares all day,” someone posted.

However, many also pointed out that of course the 44-year-old supported an artist on his label. “It’s Drama’s label so of course he gonna say that,” a fan pointed out. “But let’s just dead the debate n go back to Freeway’s ‘What we do’ !” which is another strong contender. Still, which song do you think wins in this debate? Whatever the case, let us know in the comments and nominate songs missing in the Philly anthem discussion. Also, as always, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest hip-hop debates and hot takes from the greats.
