Lil Uzi Vert Debut “SNL” Appearance Canceled

It’s a wrap for Lil Uzi Vert’s Saturday Night Live debut. That is to say, the performance has been canceled. Unfortunately, due to the ongoing writers’ strike in Hollywood, SNL has been put on an indefinite hold. The show halted production immediately upon the beginning of the strike. Lil Uzi has never appeared on the show before, so it was set to be a big moment for them. Who knows, maybe Leslie would have even made an appearance?

Unfortunately, NBC has announced no new episodes will be produced for the remainder of the season. Typically, the show runs through May before taking a break during the summer. Now, NBC will be airing reruns in the regular time slot for the time being. Pete Davidson’s appearance as host has also been canceled due to the strike. It was set to be his first return to the SNL stage since departing his role as a regular cast member. While the strike is necessary for the sake of fair pay, it is definitely having some negative effects on the careers of performers.

Lil Uzi’s Lawsuit Is Finally Settled

Lil Uzi Vert’s “Strawberry Peels” lawsuit has finally come to a close. Legal papers obtained by HipHopDX indicated that Sun City Publishing reached a settlement agreement with Atlantic Recording Corporation. Sun City is reportedly the owner of the rights to Blackout’s 1995 song “Dim Da Lights.” They alleged that it was sampled without consent in “Strawberry Peels.” The terms of the agreement were not disclosed, but the parties agreed to resolve the matter. They reportedly anticipate filing a Stipulation to dismiss the lawsuit within thirty days.

Previously, Sun City Publishing had been asking to be awarded damages in excess of $1 million for the use of the unauthorized sample. The amount was decided upon because of the success of “Strawberry Peels.” The Wheezy-produced track features Gunna and Young Thug and appeared on Uzi’s 2020 album Eternal Atake. It has over 39 million streams on Spotify alone. At least there’s some good news for Uzi this week. What do you think of the cancelation? Were you looking forward to seeing the rapper hit the SNL stage? Sound off below!

Lil Uzi Vert’s “Leslie” Makes Another Appearance

If you’ve been following Lil Uzi Vert lately, you might have noticed some pretty big changes. Last year, the rapper disclosed that they now identify using they/them pronouns. Shortly afterward, Uzi released their EP, Red+White, which includes a track named “Glock In My Purse,” further indicating the rapper’s new non-binary direction. Uzi also revealed that they are now a “sober man” and took to social media to notify their fans of the news. Despite celebrating their sobriety, Lil Uzi Vert has not stopped their typical unusual antics.

In addition to the personality changes, the rapper has made several physical modifications. Most notably, they have obtained six new facial piercings this year. They have also been seen rocking a punk-inspired hairstyle quite frequently. Earlier this year, they even flaunted a diamond implant on their forehead. It has since been removed. However, Uzi has also recently gotten a tongue tattoo and a forehead tattoo, both of which are permanent additions. Earlier this month, the rapper revealed a new alter ego: “Leslie.”

“Leslie” Takes Japan

Leslie has been appearing quite frequently on Lil Uzi’s social media recently. Some are very supportive of the new personality. Others, however, have taken the chance to mock Lil Uzi. Even Nicki Minaj has taken to her Instagram stories to poke fun the rapper’s new alter-ego. Nicki’s quip was quite innocent, merely pointing out that the hairstyle looks similar to hers from the “Bedrock” music video. On her story, Nicki posted a side-by-side image of her hair in the video and Uzi’s new style, captioned “She said I can make your bed rock.” Regardless, it seems like Leslie isn’t going anywhere.

Lil Uzi, who is currently in Japan, posted a series of photos showing off the trip. The photos featured Leslie posing in a mirror and showing off their nails and matching vape. Fans took to the comment section to let Lil Uzi know how they feel. Many of the comments mentioned how they simple want Uzi to drop their new album, Pink Tape. “Leslie tell Uzi to drop the tape,” one fan quipped. “Who cares drop the album,” another agreed. What do you think of Leslie’s trip to Japan? Let us know in the comments!

Lil Uzi Vert, Or Leslie Chow, Says They’re “Here To Get Money,” Not “Be A Model”

Lil Uzi Vert, or rather Leslie Chow, took to their Instagram Story to address some of the haters of their new personality once again. Moreover, the rapper got a lot of clowning and criticism for debuting a new look and alter ego during their stint at Rolling Loud Thailand. However, in classic Uzi fashion, they’re not letting any of that negativity affect them in the slightest as they keep making moves. “I didn’t come here 2 be a model,” the “That’s A Rack” MC wrote on their social media. “I came here 2 get money f**k looking good I look rich …… it is what it is Leslie Chow,” adding a heart emoji.

Of course, this isn’t the first time that Lil Uzi Vert addressed people hating on their new persona. “Chow understand people always don’t like ways of Chow,” they wrote in a previous Instagram Story post. Also, it confirmed that the namesake for Leslie is Ken Jeong’s character in The Hangover. “But Chow don’t give af Chow rich and never look back ….. Suck my monkey tail LESLIE OUT.” Also, Uzi has more people on their side to defend them against the hate train.

Lil Uzi Vert Isn’t Here To Look Pretty

Furthermore, JT chimed in on social media to not only stand by Lil Uzi Vert’s style, but her own. “One thing I love about JT, she always gonna step behind the people she love,” a fan tweeted concerning the City Girl’s defense. “It’s just sad when the energy not reciprocated.” However, she wasn’t playing around, and didn’t even take backhanded compliments lightly. “B***h shut uppppppp, you don’t even know me to care if energy is reciprocated,” she tweeted. “Go make sure your family straight. Get off the internet, fake caring about strangers ’cause Idgaf about you!!!!!!”

Meanwhile, the couple even got in trouble with another rap couple: Finesse2Tymes and his girl. The conflict arose when JT compared an ugly baby to the Memphis rapper, and his boo came quick to clap back. “JT, WHO MAN YOU CALLING UGLY?” she posted on her IG Story. “HAVE YOU SEEN YOURS?” Even though it’s not the nicest situation, it’s always cute to see couples defend each other. Let’s just hope that Leslie Chow gets the respect they deserve- and the others involved, too, for that matter. Regardless, log back into HNHH for the latest on Lil Uzi Vert.

Lil Uzi Vert Addresses Leslie Haters

Lil Uzi Vert recently turned heads yet again when they debuted a new alter ego, Leslie, at Rolling Loud Thailand. Unfortunately, the androgynous moniker and personality didn’t get the best reception from fans and media online, or at least the hate was enough to warrant a response from Uzi. Moreover, they recently took to their Instagram Story to stand by the new identity and to defend their new look and style. Of course, the Philly icon is always one to subvert, change their flow, and make headlines for their art in all of its facets.

“Chow understand people always don’t like ways of Chow,” Lil Uzi Vert posted on their Instagram Stories on Wednesday night (April 19). Furthermore, that confirms that Leslie is a reference to Leslie Chow, a character in the film The Hangover portrayed by Ken Jeong. It’s an unsurprisingly eccentric point of inspiration that’s as tongue-in-cheek as it is challenging. “But Chow don’t give af Chow rich and never look back ….. Suck my monkey tail LESLIE OUT.” It was a succinct and quick response, which actually differs from the more thoughtful and elaborate reflections Uzi offered on topics like sobriety.

Lil Uzi Vert Defends Leslie

Regardless of their new namesake, many in the industry clowned Lil Uzi Vert for the announcement, whether lightly or insensitively. For example, Nicki Minaj suggested that they looked like her in the “Bedrock” music video, which is a light and generally harmless jab. However, people took more issue with people like Karlae responding in the comments on Uzi’s post with laughing emojis. Even though that seems harmless as well, it’s a fine line to walk when other bigoted people have an issue with this new identity. As such, many felt like this was an indication of people not taking Uzi seriously.

Meanwhile, JT recently blasted people criticizing her and Lil Uzi Vert’s style, defending her boo. Through replying to detractors on Twitter, she asked people to stop making so many assumptions and criticisms of their choices. After all, their movement and artistic choices are for nobody else but them. Still, both artists have a lot more on the horizon when it comes to their careers that makes these criticisms moot in the long term. With that in mind, come back to HNHH for the latest news and updates on Lil Uzi Vert.

Lil Uzi Vert’s Alter Ego, Leslie, Makes Their Debut In Thailand: Watch

While many of our favourite artists were in California for Coachella this weekend, others found themselves much further east on the globe. 2023 marked the first ever Rolling Loud event to take place in Asia, with Cardi B, Chris Brown, and finally, Travis Scott headlining the festival in Thailand from Thursday (April 13) to Saturday (April 15). Others on the lineup include Sheck Wes, Centra Cee, Offset, Rubi Rose, Rick Ross, DaBaby, Waka Flocka Flame, Rae Sremmurd, and Lil Uzi Vert, who lit the crowd up ahead of the Invasion of Privacy rap diva’s finale on the first night of performances.

During their time in the city, “The Way Life Goes” hitmaker made sure to enjoy the many attractions it has to offer – including indulging in the local delicacy of eating a cockroach. Rather than step out in their usual look, however, Uzi took the opportunity to introduce their alter ego, Leslie to the world. Their hair is obviously emo-inspired, and their outfit of choice hints at the impending arrival of the long-awaited Pink Tape project, which LUV has been working on for some time now.

Lil Uzi Vert Introduces Us to Leslie

Later in their photo dump, Lil Uzi showed photos of Leslie enjoying their time by the beach. With a mask covering the lower half of their face and a drastically altered appearance, many fans couldn’t help but poke fun at the Philly native’s post in the comments. “N*gga looking like somebody emo auntie,” one troll wrote. “Uzi looking like [they] just joined Panic! at the Disco,” another quipped. “I thought that was someone’s grandmother,” someone else chimed in, obviously expressing their disdain for the alter ego.

Regardless of what haters have to say, the 27-year-old has always been known to march to the beat of their own drum. Earlier this month, Lil Uzi Vert unveiled a badass new tattoo spanning their entire forehead, which certainly got him plenty of attention and kudos for sitting through the pain. See for yourself here, and keep scrolling to check out videos from LUV’s time at Rolling Loud Thailand.
