Charlamagne Tha God’s Sexual Assault And Battery Case Dismissed

Charlamagne tha God scored a major legal victory on November. The entertainer had charges of sexual assault and battery dropped when a judge decreed that the case was past the statute of limitations. The outlet In Touch Weekly reported that the initial claims were filed too long after the alleged incident took place. Furthermore, the judge denied the accuser, Jessica Nicole Reid, the opportunity to amend her lawsuit. It was determined she had not “demonstrated” enough evidence to justify an amendment.

Reid’s allegations date over two decades. She alleges that Charlamagne tha God invited her to a party on July 8, 2001. She claimed she felt dizzy after drinking something the radio personality gave her. Reid said that she felt like her legs were going to give out, and was helped upstairs by other attendees. Once she was upstairs, though, Reid claims that Charlamagne tha God entered the room in which she was resting. He then, allegedly, assaulted her. “Charlamagne was having sex with Ms. Reid and she could not do anything about it,” her lawyers wrote in the lawsuit.

Furthermore, Reid accused Charlamagne tha God of spreading rumors about her after the alleged incident. “Every time Ms. Reid turns on the radio and hears his voice,” the lawsuit added. “Sees him on TV, and walks past his books in the stores, she is reminded of what Charlamagne did to her.” The media personality’s lawyer, Michael Weinstein, disputed these allegations outright. Weinstein claimed several witnesses saw Charlamagne tha God leave the party before the alleged assault took place. He also said Reid presented a lack of evidence, given the severity of her claims.

Reid previously attempted to bring a case against Charlamagne in 2003. In Touch Weekly states that Charlamagne voluntarily submitted DNA to South Carolina authorities, but it did not match Reid’s rape kit. The charges were then thrown out. When efforts were made to reopen the case in 2018, the South Carolina Solicitor General declined. He claimed it would be unethical to do so. The second case, the one that was recently dismissed, was filed in New York. The aforementioned judge also dismissed Reid’s claims of defamation.

Dwight Howard’s Sexual Assault & Battery Case Gets Dismissed

In July of 2023, Stephen Harper filed a lawsuit against Dwight Howard, accusing the former NBA star of sexual assault and battery. Reportedly, the suit stemmed from an encounter they had at Howard’s Georgia home in 2021. Harper accused Howard of sexually assaulting him, which Howard denied. Instead, he insisted that they took part in “consensual sexual activity.” He proceeded to ask the judge to dismiss the case, a request they quickly shot down in February.

Now, however, ESPN reports that Harper has dismissed every claim he made against Howard, meaning he cannot sue him again for those claims. Howard’s attorney Justin Bailey also told the outlet that Harper was not paid to drop the lawsuit. At the time of writing, it remains unclear what prompted this decision.

Stephen Harper Dismisses All Claims Against Dwight Howard

In Harper’s original filing, he alleged that he and Howard exchanged various DMs that were sexual in nature. Eventually, after months of chatting, Howard allegedly invited Harper to his house for sex. When he arrived, Harper alleged that he was made to participate in a threesome with a cross-dresser named Kitty. Howard’s legal battle with Harper is not the only one he’s seen the end of as of late, however. In March of this year, Howard also dropped his lawsuit against Masin Elije.

Back in 2018, Elije allegedly spread rumors that Howard is bisexual. He denied this at the time and went on to sue her for defamation. Reportedly, he decided to drop the suit because he did not believe he’d be able to gather enough evidence to win the case. What do you think of Stephen Harper dropping his lawsuit against Dwight Howard? Are you surprised by this or not? What about Howard reportedly receiving zero settlement money? R Kelly’s Lawsuit Against Tasha K & The U.S. Government To Be Dismissed

R Kelly is facing more bad news. According to multiple reports, including one from The Neighborhood Talk, the tainted singer’s lawsuit against blogger and YouTuber Tasha K, as well as prison workers, is facing dismissal. The Chicago, Illinois artist filed it back in November 2023 as he felt that the government was leaking sensitive information about him to the outspoken social media figure. R Kelly was of the impression that this is why Tasha K was speaking poorly about him therefore damaging his public image and causing him emotional distress in the process.

But as for the government coming to this conclusion, they state that they aren’t responsible for one prison official’s actions. The worker who did leak things such as emails, visitor logs, and phone records was never charged for any crimes. Additionally, the person retired right after this investigation ended in 2019. Furthermore, Tasha K did deny any sort of involvement in this scheme.

However, what is also worth noting is that it seems the government did acknowledge that the prison official was doing such acts, according to The Source. Regardless, “the government maintains that this does not constitute grounds for holding the entire U.S. Penal System accountable”. Overall, this quite an interesting conclusion to come to. It’s possible that all of Kelly’s crimes are contributing to this, but we are curious what you think.

What are your thoughts on the U.S. government dismissing R Kelly’s lawsuit against them and Tasha K? Do you think this is the right decision? Overall, is the singer’s past too disturbing for the government to give him a chance to successfully pursue a lawsuit? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding R Kelly. Soulja Boy Gets Major Win In Longstanding Assault Lawsuit That Led To Alleged Miscarriage

According to AllHipHop, Soulja Boy is avoiding forking out tons of money that stems from a previous lawsuit from a woman identified as Jane Doe. The “Crank That” hitmaker has dealt with his fair share of court battles so if you aren’t up to speed on this one, we get it. But this update pertains to a case that has been going on since 2021. Doe filed a $10 million lawsuit against Soulja Boy for sexual, battery, assault, as well as infliction of emotional distress.

Making this even more of a bad look for the entrepreneur is that she claimed it led to a miscarriage back in 2015. In the original filing, Doe claimed that it happened after having a “simple conversation”. Soulja Boy “quickly became irate and violent” and he punched her in the face and chest before collapsing to the ground and not being able to stand up. That is when the rapper supposedly began to kick in the stomach, which allegedly caused said miscarriage.

Soulja Boy’s Decision Helps Him Avoid Paying $10 Million In Damages

Soulja Boy was going to have to pay this hefty $10 million lawsuit. The damages were $5 million for pain and suffering and then the other half for emotional distress. However, since he decided to attend a deposition before the end of this month, that judgement is being wiped. Soulja affirmed that he did none of the actions that he had been accused of. Doe did previously claim that he didn’t attend a deposition, but that obviously turned out not to be the case.

What are your thoughts on Soulja Boy avoiding the $10 million in damages to Jane Doe for alleged assault, sexual battery, and infliction of emotional distress? What does this say about the accusations from Ms. Doe? How do you see the rest of this playing out from here? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Diddy & Cassie Lawsuit Has Been Officially Dismissed

In a recent turn of events, the legal battle between music mogul Diddy and singer Cassie has come to a close. The end comes with the dismissal of Cassie’s sexual assault lawsuit against Diddy. The court ruling, which officially dismissed the case, was filed with prejudice. This signals a definitive conclusion to the legal proceedings and prevents Cassie from reopening the case in the future. As HotNewHipHop previously reported, the $30M lawsuit, filed by Cassie, alleged a range of serious accusations against Diddy. Some of the allegations included rape, physical abuse, and human trafficking. The explosive claims sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry and the public, drawing widespread attention and speculation.

However, the legal saga took an unexpected turn when the two parties reached a settlement just a day after the lawsuit became public. Diddy, a prominent figure in the music and business world, consistently maintained his innocence, vehemently denying all the allegations made against him. Moreover, the swift resolution of the case, with both parties opting to settle, raised eyebrows. And fueled speculation about the circumstances surrounding the agreement.

Moreover,tThe court’s decision to dismiss the case with prejudice adds a layer of finality to the controversy. Indicating that the legal matter has been thoroughly examined and officially resolved. This dismissal prevents Cassie from pursuing the case again, bringing a sense of closure to a chapter that had gripped the public’s attention. In high-profile legal battles like this one, public opinion often plays a significant role. However, the dismissal of the case may leave some questioning the validity of the initial allegations. Others may view it as a private matter between the involved parties.

As the dust settles on this legal drama, both Diddy and Cassie can now move forward, each with their own narrative about the events that transpired. Social media reacted to the news with majority in favor of Cassie’s decision. “The info is out there already.. she won all the way around!!!” one person commented. “Either way it was a civil case. She explained her story and exposed him and sued him and he paid the next day. Why should she have to go through a whole trial when she already said everything in her complaint. The only outcome is money bc she couldn’t take him to criminal court cause of statue of limitations,” another person explained. What are your thoughts? Let us know on HNHH!

Offset Calls Off Lawsuit With Quality Control

Offset and Quality Control, the label that has supported him, as well as his group Migos, have politely agreed to move on. The 32-year-old rapper filed a lawsuit over a year ago against the Atlanta-based music label over his solo music. According to TMZ, the documents laid out that Offset’s claim was that the label was attempting to take full control of his own music and they were not being upfront about the contract they agreed to. Furthermore, it appears a settlement will be the result of all of this. The lawsuit was dismissed on August 8.

Lately, Offset has been releasing songs under Motown, which is a subsidiary of Quality Control. Even though things are mostly in the clear, people who are tight with Offset have said that the hitmaker will not be re-joining the label as a solo artist. That is why singles, such as “Jealousy”, featuring his spouse, Cardi B are in partnership with Motown. Moreover, the altercations between his fellow member, Quavo, have subsided and they are repairing their relationship.

Now that both have moved on is there any indication of new music? At the moment, it does not seem like a realistic goal. However, Quavo’s Rocket Power is slated to drop on August 18. It is a tribute to the late, great third of the trio, Takeoff. There could be a Offset feature, but we will have to wait and see.

What are your general thoughts on this lawsuit? What do you think led to Offset dropping the court battle with Quality Control? Do you think he should still go back to the label as a solo artist? We want to hear all of what you have to say in the comments section below. Additionally, be sure to keep it locked it with HNHH for all the latest news around the hip-hip industry.
