Coi Leray Admitted She May Have ‘Over Reacted’ To A Questionable Line In Latto’s New Song

Latto‘s latest single, “Put It On Da Floor” has the whole internet talking. On the scorching track, she seems to fire shots at some of her peers in the rap game — some subliminally and some by name.

On one line in particular, Latto seemingly comments on “Players” rapper Coi Leray‘s body, rapping “Smokin’ on that gas, blunt big as Coi Leray / B*tches like to run their mouths but I’m the type to run the fade.”

Leray caught wind of the line and had some words for Latto.

“Latto bye,” she said in a tweet, here you go talking about my body. Please do not come on here and talk about nobody BODY. Lol like seriously. Out of all things. Lmaooo ya blunt my size? Lmaooo this sh*t is never-ending,” she said in a tweet.

While Leray and several other fans interpreted the line as a diss, some didn’t think too much of it. One fan noted that she used a similar line on Lola Brooke’s “Don’t Play With It” Remix.

“Dropped a hundred on a pennant, that sh*t big as Lola / They can’t stand to see me winnin’, so they blame payola,” she raps on her verse.

Regardless, it seems that Leray ended up brushing it off by the end of the day.

“Maybe I over reacted idk. End of the day. Don’t say my name for clicks and likes,” Leray said in a tweet. “Specially if we don’t speak or communicate. I’m not a big blunt small blunt. Don’t compare me to nada. Mention b*tches you actually beef with. Put it on the floor but leave me out of the bs.”

Latto Lends Her Star Power To TiaCorine’s Breakout Hit ‘Freaky T’

After teasing their collaboration at Coachella, TiaCorine and Latto have released their “Freaky T” remix. While the Memphis trap-influenced beat remains unchanged, Latto adds a typically muscular verse, name-checking YouTuber Kai Cenat, DJ Khaled, and Savage X Fenty as she struts along the slinky Southern instrumental.

In addition to the “Freaky T” remix, Latto’s having another busy weekend, dropping a new single, “Put It On Da Floor,” which she also teased at Coachella. Although fans believe that the song contains shots at Latto’s veteran rival, Nicki Minaj, one of its lyrics drew the attention of a former Nicki collaborator, Coi Leray, instead. In response to the line “Smokin’ on that gas, blunt big as Coi Leray,” the New Jersey rapper tweeted, “Here you go talking about my body. Please do not come on here and talk about nobody BODY.”

Meanwhile, the release of the remix extends the life of a track that many fans on social media have already begun calling one of the songs of the summer — despite the song originally coming out five months ago. TiaCorine’s following has certainly increased since then, making the North Carolina an artist to watch in the coming months as Latto’s cosign brings new eyes and ears to her already rising profile.

Coi Leray Took Issue With Latto Rapping About Her Body On Her New Single, ‘Put It On Da Floor’

A few hours ago, Latto dropped a fresh single, “Put It On Da Floor.” To open the track’s second verse, she raps, “Smokin’ on that gas, blunt big as Coi Leray.” Leray didn’t care for that.

After the song came out, Leray took to Twitter. She started with, “Let’s fight [grinning face with sweat emoji].” She continued, “Latto bye . [sleeping emoji] here you go taking about my body. Please do not come on here and talk about nobody BODY. Lol like seriously . Out of all things . Lmaooo ya blunt my size ? Lmaooo this sh*t is never ending.” Leray added, “These b*tches wanna be like the n****s so bad. Y’all wanna have rap beef SOOOOOO BADDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD [crying laughing emojis] [grinning face with sweat emojis].” She continued, “Anybody that talk about my body wants MY BODY!!!!!!!!!!!! Like real badddddd.”

A couple house after the initial tweets, she added, “If you don’t like me , support me or fwm don’t mention my name. Period. Sh*t don’t make sense. I don’t know none of you b*tches in real life. Stay in y’all lane and leave me outta the bullsh*t. I be minding my business and showing real love offline.”

Latto hasn’t responded yet, but she did note, ““The content I’m about to roll out is a whole fresh new leaf. I genuinely love to see the new wave of female rap, and I’m honored to be a part of it.”

Coi Leray Puts Latto On Blast For Body-Shaming Her

Coi Leray is steadily climbing the charts these days. Overall, she has reinvented her career thanks to working with EDM artists. For instance, David Guetta has been showing major love to Leray, and it has paid off. However, Leray seemingly still has her fair share of haters. In fact, some of this hate is even coming from her peers, at least so it seems. Last night, Latto dropped her new song “Put It On Da Floor.” Within the song, there were some bars about Coi Leray, that were certainly questionable.

“Smoking on that gas blunt big as Coi Leray/ Bitches like to run they mouth, but I’m the type to run a fade,” Latto raps on the new song. Subsequently, Coi caught wind of these bars, and immediately took to Twitter where she went in on the rapper. “Latto bye [sleeping face emoji] here you go taking about my body,” Coi Leray wrote. “Please do not come on here and talk about nobody BODY. Lol like seriously . Out of all things . Lmaooo ya blunt my size ? Lmaooo this shit is never ending. These bitches wanna be like the n-ggas so bad. Y’all wanna have rap beef SOOOOOO BADDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD [crying face emojis] … LITTLE MISS PRESSURE.”

Coi Leray Addresses Latto

Overall, these were some very strong words from Leray. Many have commented on her figure in the past, which has always rubbed people the wrong way. Moreover, one can just imagine how Coi feels about it. Although, to have another artist do it, certainly felt persona. Leray even followed up her tweets with one more post in which she let her final thoughts on the matter be known. “If you don’t like me, support me or fwm don’t mention my name. Period,” she said. “Shit don’t make sense. I don’t know none of you bitches in real life. Stay in y’all lane and leave me outta the bullshit. I be minding my business and showing real love offline.”

Latto has yet to respond to Coi Leray and her Twitter tirade. Perhaps this is all just a complete misunderstanding. Regardless, Latto learned a valuable lesson about commenting on people and their bodies. Let us know whose side you are on in this situation, in the comments section below. Coi Has More To Say

Latto Challenges Her Opps To ‘Put It On Da Floor’ With Her New Single

Latto is not here to entertain anyone’s beef. On her latest single, “Put It On Da Floor,” she reminds everyone that she’s here to stay, and that she’s not a flash in the pan.

Over a blazing beat, Latto warns her haters not to mess with her, because she’s not afraid to strike back.

“I done done it all / feel like Shawty Lo / Laughin’ to the bank / but sh*t is not a joke / Say she got a problem? / Imaginary smoke / B*tches said it’s up / then put it on the floor,” she raps on the song’s chorus.

Last year, Latto’s sophomore album, 777 garnered her much buzz with singles like “Big Energy” and “Sunshine.” In a recent interview with Billboard, she revealed that she is already hard at work on her third album.

Though she has remained mum about her upcoming new music, she teases that it’s unlike anything she’s ever done before. She also noted that she takes a lot of inspiration from her peers in the rap game.

“The content I’m about to roll out is a whole fresh new leaf,” she said. “I genuinely love to see the new wave of female rap, and I’m honored to be a part of it.”
